At 80%, the hero flies out to meet another woman who thinks is ✨the one✨. The heroine’s response? Sending him the song Never Enough from The Greatest Showman.

This was a mess. If you want to reminisce about your high school days with all the OTT drama and inmature attitudes, I recommend you reading this.

October 11, 2021Hell NO! Hero lusts after OW for YEARS and after they are in a relationship and they says ILY, he has a "time-out" to go on a date with the OW who turns out is heroine's sister! WHAT???!!!
Are you f****G kidding me??? THIS is what one romanticizes as an ideal "hero"? What sane woman would want a man who lusted after someone else?
I don't care if he didn't kiss or sleep with her, he was still lusting after the OW for years, so please stop romanticizing cheaters and falsely labeling reads and then trying to redeem him by having him say she was always the one for him. PUH-LEASE. It is misleading & bad form to lie to readers!
And just in case anyone is interested, even heroine cheats here too! After the douche leaves her to pursue the OW, she allows her roommate to take her hand and touch his banana. She stops things from going further but she still allowed it so I call it cheating!

The interactions between Elliot and Kate are amusing and some are super steamy. I like that the books in this series are long and there are plenty of intimate scenes. Elliot is hot, demanding and dominant and I really liked him. He is also a romantic at heart, which isn’t always a good thing since he thinks that despite the feelings he is having for Kate, she is not “the one”.
Elliot’s romantic heart tells him that when he meets “the one”, he will immediately know it from the first time he sees her. Like he will feel the earth move or something and just know. Since he felt nothing more than annoyance for years after meeting Kate, he thinks he just wants her for her body.
The story was really good and I just loved the fact that they were constantly messaging one another anonymously on a dating site and through that, Kate got more insight into what Elliot was feeling since she was aware from very early on that her friend Edgar was in fact Elliot.
There was a lot of back and forth about their relationship in this book, but I guess I like that more in some books than in others. I don’t know why it bothers me sometimes when the story alternates between fighting and making up, between uncertainty and steamy scenes, but I enjoyed it all in this book and I will most definitely be waiting for Christopher Miles’s story next.

I've been wanting to read this series forever. I got the ARC for this one, pre-ordered it, AND bought the other two and have them in my Kindle. If that alone doesn't tell you how good I think this book is, I don't know what will.
This is going down as one of my favorite books of 2021. The Casanova is everything I want and need in a romance novel.
Enemies to lovers with a bossy, possessive, sometimes asshole of a hero who is hot and all sorts of sizzling in the bedroom, and a heroine who doesn't back down and even makes him grovel? Yes, please.
"And don't roll your eyes at me," she huffs
"Kathryn, I need a damn retina transplant from all the eye rolling you cause."
"Well, that makes two of us."
Elliot Miles is perfection. I need a machine to turn book characters into real life people, and I need it now. He's the CEO of the London branch of Miles Media. Kathryn is the IT Team Manager at the same company.
They hate each other. He's a jackass to her, and she doesn't take it lying down. The way they're at each other's throats is awesome. I loved the banter between them, and the tension really is palpable.
Also, it was refreshing not to have the usual "he's the boss, I'm the employee, we can't" obstacle between them. Thank you for that, Ms. Swan.
"Promise me that we can have angry sex soon. I need to fuck you when you're raging fucking angry with me."
I laugh out loud in surprise; the man's an idiot. "With your annoying personality, I don't think that will be a problem, Elliot."
There are two moments that are pivotal and lead to a change in their relationship. All of a sudden, Kathryn becomes something more than a witch that works for him, and Elliot shows a side of him that was hidden until now.
Please note: he is still bossy, and still possessive, and definitely hot, and I love him for all of it. There are just... more layers there.
"Elliot Miles fucks like he does business, hard and unapologetic. I knew he'd be something else, I just didn't know it would be everything."
When the fun, scorching moments between them begin, it's off the charts. The banter goes on, and only makes everything hotter. And trust me when I tell you that Elliot may be possessive, but so is Kathryn. I really liked that he knew how to push all her buttons, even if not in the most tactful way. His social skills need some tuning, and his having-feelings-for-someone-and-not-knowing-what-to-do-with-them need that too. Big time.
"There's no such thing as a coincidence."
The last 25% are EVERYTHING. There's a plot twist that had me wanting to punch Elliot in his beautiful face. Part of me understood it, most of me did not. I found myself doubting this HEA, but I shouldn't have, because the ending was perfect. I won't say more about it, because I think it needs to be experienced (whether you love it or hate it will be up to you). For me, it was worth every minute.
"She smiles softly with her eyes closed and falls back to sleep. In the darkness, in her arms, I listen to her heartbeat. And I lose sight of mine."
This was a fun, banter- and feeling-filled, sexy and steamy read, with characters that pulled me in and wouldn't let me go.
I couldn't recommend it more!

After every one of her releases I am reminded why T. L. Swan is a go-to, automatic-buy author for me.
This book was absolutely wonderful. I laughed. I swooned. I got angry. I had a large array of emotions. This book was so excellently written. It had me from the first page and I couldn’t put it down.
I love those Miles brothers and Elliott may be my favorite so far. Talk about complex. This author’s heroes do not fit into a cookie cutter mold. They are completely flawed and that includes Elliott. His temper and they way he barked orders to get his way were epic. The heroine Kate had to grow on me.
It’s not as spicy as her other reads but oh so romantic. And the plot twist left me reeling.
I highly highly recommend this one. I can’t wait to read Christopher’s story.

cooked my brain, and not in a good way..........

I was actually excited about this book because the heroine sounded fabulous and she was was! She was clever and funny and sassy and didn't take sh*t from anyone especially the hero... for about 150 pages, then she became an spineless giggling mess doormat heroine like every heroine in this series. I was so upset. I wanted my bada** Kate back! That scene with her sister? I was furious because she didn't acted like herself. After that this book started losing me so much that when I hit 50% I was done but I kept going because I refused Kate was going to remain spineless but I was proven wrong.
Now, I thought the hero was trash at first, but then he went and outdid himself and became a dumpster. There is no way a self-respecting woman would ever go back to a man who broke up with her and immediately start dating another woman (a woman whom he was already lusting with / almost cheating on while he was with our heroin!) And only came back to her because he "realized" he wanted Kate after all... GIVE ME A F*CKING BRAKE! Sorry, no. This guy is a jerk with zero redeemable qualities (there was really no growth in this book tbh). I kept thinking how is this trashcan related to Christopher and Tristan? Smh.
Anyway, I really really really wanted to liked this book and I did for 30% of it but choices were made and I didn't agree with those choices and here we are.

update 10/15/21: Weeks later and this book is still at the back of my mind... haunting me. Today I felt a sudden urge to explain why this generated a one-star rating from me... but then again, that would require me to relive the story which I, unfortunately, still remember. 🥴

After the high The Takeover took me, Casanova conveniently provided me a slide down to the dark abyss of disappointment. Not even going to waste a single brain cell writing a proper review because I am freaking frustrated and I'll probably forget about the story as soon as I hit save anyway.
Cutting ties with this author for now to save myself. Who am I kidding? I'd probably pick up the book on the remaining Miles brother in the future.

Okay, I have a lot of thoughts on this one. My main one is that I'm pretty sure this author's writing just isn't for me. There's something off about the dialogue. It's almost cringey to read at times and it just doesn't feel natural. I kept thinking, no one talks like this!!!
I also had an issue with the blurb promising something that... I didn't get? It seemed like the whole dating app thing would feature heavily in the romance. I was hoping for something like an epistolary romance, but the dating app isn't actually what sparks the romance at all and we only see Elliot and Kate using it a handful of times. It doesn't really have an effect on the romance building between them.
The enemies to lovers part was okay. It's starts off with some HEAVY hate and I'm still not sure why he hated her so much because she seemed to be really good at her job. Kate gets a makeover courtesy of her new fashionista roommate and of course, that's when Elliot starts to notice her and get horny all over her. Eyeroll. It happens pretty early on in the book so we don't get too much of the enemies before they become lovers. And Kate fell for him wayyy too quickly, especially after that messed up shit he said about her dressing provocatively in order to get him to touch her so she can file a harassment complaint against him. I didn't hate the ending, when Elliot decides to go pursue another woman, because I could definitely feel he was into Kate and anytime he thought about another woman, he believed her to be an 80 year old and only cared about her art (he's art obsessed). My love for Tristian Miles is widely known by my community and friends. Also my level of fangirling for TL Swan is very high, so I have been eagerly awaiting ARCs for this book for ages. The Takeover was my favorite read of 2020. So anticipation was high.
One of my absolute favorite things about reading a TL Swan book is the callbacks and cameos of other characters. All her books connect or take place in the same world and that makes being a dedicated fan very rewarding.
I was very intrigued to read about Elliot, who we know has a not so secret obsession with a certain artist in a previous book. So I was not expecting his love interest to be Kate, one of his employees and the bane of his existence.
Kate is trying to come out of a funk after some personal loss in her past and her boss is just always on her case. They get off on the wrong foot from day one, and now, years into their acquaintance that have this aversion to each other that is a bit out of control.
One day Elliot observes Kate over the security cameras dancing at the copier and he starts to look at her in a new way. And when Kate goes through a health issue at work, it puts them in even closer proximity together and Elliot just can't stay away from her.
This was another great entry to the series and in the interest of keeping this spoiler free I won't say much more. But I was pulled into their romance and I loved how they navigated everything.
There was a decision that Elliot made that almost lost me for good. No joke, but his grovel was pretty epic and some of the reveals at the end made up for it. They may have been a BIT too convenient but it is a romance after all.

My love for Tristian Miles is widely known by my community and friends. Also my level of fangirling for TL Swan is very high, so I have been eagerly awaiting ARCs for this book for ages. The Takeover was my favorite read of 2020. So anticipation was high.

I have no idea where these 5 star reviews came from. This book was cruising for a 3-star rating until it hit the 80% mark. More under spoiler.
The 27-year-old heroine has worked at the hero's billion-dollar media company for 7 years. I don't know if she's been the IT manager all that time -- it seems grossly improbable, but then so is her rudeness toward the hero, the company's CEO. I would be fired for addressing my supervisor (a mid-level manager) the way she does the CEO. And in email, no less, so there's an evidence trail. But reality and this book have never been introduced.
Anyway, after finishing The Casanova, I came to Goodreads to enjoy some snarky, loathing reviews and was horrified to see the high rating. I'm not going to assume the author has 8000 sockpuppet accounts to inflate her ratings. Instead, I'm disappointed that 8000 readers apparently have no problem forgiving a guy who and then offers excuses instead of apologies for his actions. Ugh.
As always, I'm giving this one-star book an unearned bonus star because it's third in a series and I haven't read the preceding two books. Do you think the previous books could possibly contain any information to justify the hero's entitled arrogance?

I love this book and how the author had Kate and Elliot hating on each other in the beginning.It made me even more curious what was going to happen, and how it was going to work when they had know each other for so long. I was pleasantly surprised how the author over come this and was completely on board with this scenario for Kate and Elliot. The only part I wasn't sure about was that Elliot is technically Kate's boss, and although they did talk a little about it I thought Kate should have been a bit more concerned than she actually was.
Over all this was a highly entertaining read with great characters and interesting plots, this is definitely my favourite in the series so fare.

Okay, it's been a while since I finished this nightmare and I never had the energy to put down my rant because boy do I have things that fucking enraged me in this book.
First of all, the hero was a WALKING red flag. He was an immature, abusive, whiny asshole who pretended to be all deep and sensitive about art.
Second of all, getting to the end of the book and realising WHO the artist was and how little (actually ZERO) thought/energy they put into creating those "masterpieces" we've read about for the past three books, you will understand that:
1. the writer has no fucking clue about visual art and should have left this storyline out;
2. the guy was even a bigger idiot than we initially thought.
So with the hero being a manipulative prick with severe anger management issues and with the heroine being a sad doormat - I hated everything about this ridiculous and extremely far-fetched story.
And just to put a cherry on top, something happened towards the end.
To top it all one more time, Swan took SEVERAL absolutely improbable events and put them into one freaking book. Nothing was realistic in any way, not one emotion genuine, not one "accident" believable. It was one out of a million chance after another in just this one story. And I wanted to burn it at the end.

"Who are they from?"
"My boyfriend," she replies.
I wince... fuck... boyfriend, how did that happen?
- YOU have just INSISTED on that, you fucking moron!

I walk toward her.
"Telling me no is the ultimate aphrodisiac, Landon."
- Sure, when you are a rapist, Elliot! Or when you talked about this specific kink beforehand which wasn't the case, so... yeah, you do sound like a rapist.
And just to put a cherry on top, something happened towards the end.
On the phone, the hero screams at the heroine that he needs to speak to her. When she says "it's always about you, about what you want, you need etc", he explodes.
She hangs up on him [2 times!], he calls again and when she snaps at him - he suddenly starts talking all soft, saying all the right things - and hey, right then she "remembers the man she loves".
You know what people? This was literally a scene from an abusive relationship.
And I absolutely can't get into my head how this shit can be romanticised.

**Synopsis:**
Coworker’s for seven years, Kate and Elliot definitely annoy each other.
Then one day Elliot sees Kate in a different light and all of a sudden their attraction can’t be denied.
** The following are my thoughts about this book: **
* * I really liked Elliot and Kate when they didn’t like each other. They had some great chemistry as enemies and I enjoyed their sparring. However, that went away when their relationship changed and the whole vibe of the story altered and it wasn’t as fun.
* * I’m not sure I bought into the sudden attraction. It didn’t really work for me. They went seven years with no sparks. Maybe a year I could understand (kind of not though), but Seven???? That was just hard to rationalize.
* * I thought the story was too long.
* * Drama for the sake of drama. There was a lot of unnecessary drama due to miscommunication or preconceived thoughts.
* * The big revelation at the end was completely unrealistic. How would an unknown artist who never sold a single painting ever be seen by Elliot in the first place. I know artists who work really hard for decades to get their artwork actually shown in high end galleries with hopes of catching the eye of someone with tons of money. Elliot paying $20 million for this particular unknown artist’s work was just eye rolling to me.
* * Did Elliot do enough to get Kate back? In my opinion, a letter a day was a little bit swoony. But I would have rather had the letters filled with apologies and undying love declarations as well. (I’m thinking of Mr Big’s love letters in the Sex and the City movie. Now that was heart melting and incredibly swoony!!🥰)

I devoured this book and I really liked it but it definitely isn't my favourite T.L. Swan book.
I loved it and the characters especially Elliot and Kate's relationship, up until about 80% in. No spoilers but I think Elliot's decision made no sense to me and actually really annoyed me. His reasoning was just not it.
Anyway 3 stars because it was a fast, cute, smutty read.

Elliot Miles, head of the London office of Miles Media, is known for being powerful, cold, seductive, and a womanizer. So much so that the paparazzi have dubbed him The Cassanova.
Kate is the IT manager of Miles Media and in full honesty: hates Elliot Miles. He's arrogant and rude and she can't be held accountable for the things she says in his presence because the man brings out her temper like no one else.
But one day Elliot sees Kate in a sexy red athletic dress and he suddenly sees her in a new way. His hunger fir her grows unsatisfied and she is overcome with this cold and cruel man who makes her melt with one heated glance.
On paper this is an enemies to lovers workplace romance but in true T.L. Swan fashion it is so much more. There's a mystery threaded through the entire book about an unknown artist Elliot is obsessed with, a beautiful and enchanted farm with guard ducks, an amorous goat, and a murderous ram, and two secret identities with hilarious screen names from a dating site.
This book was WONDERFUL and I honestly loved it from page one to the end. One of the things I loved most about this book was how at a certain point an HEA seemed impossible for this couple, and yet every plot thread was pulled together at the last moment to make it work perfectly for me.
I loved watching this cold alpha melt into tenderness over the fiery Kate. It was a thing of beauty and it also had an equal amount of scorching steam as well.
I have not read as satisfying ending in a romance in a while and it was well worth the angst to get there.

For a week he was with the Ow/sis, and he said nothing happened between them while he was dating her, but reviewers think something happened.
If the H had truly loved the h, he wouldn’t have been lusting for another woman, and certainly wouldn’t have dumped her to be with another.

…and that is a very generous 2 stars. Where do I even start? How are there so many 5-star reviews for this book? Did we read the same thing? Is this the same author that wrote The Stopover and The Takeover, both of which I thoroughly enjoyed?
I love enemies-to-lovers! It’s my favourite trope. While the hateful things said between the Kate & Elliot would have resulted in job terminations and HR reports, the loathing between the two of them (the only thing going for this story) was sadly over much too soon.
This was the first time in a long time that I truly hated the hero and wanted terrible things to happen to him. Elliot was a selfish, lying, misogynistic, toddler of a man. The last straw for me was his irredeemable actions near the end of the book that no amount of grovelling could change my mind for.
Kate started out as this strong, take-no-shit-from-no-one, female lead and then slowly turned into a self-deprecating, self-sacrificing, shadow of the woman I knew and loved.
I wish I could say that the steamy scenes were spectacular, but they were lacking and I ended up skimming half of them.
It was nice seeing the Miles brothers again and the banter and teasing between them. My favourite character was the kindly chauffeur, Andrew. Oh, and the psychotic ducks, goat and ram were entertaining.

4 Enchanted Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟
Oh boy...
Elliot is a romantic at heart and I love him!
I swear that I was scared of getting another Jameson (The Stopover), and daydreaming about another Tristan (The Takeover).
At the beginning I confess that I wasn't impressed... until at least 35%, the book wasn't delivering nothing special.
That's probably why my review is missing a star.
Elliot was a total jerk, but not the interesting brooding type, but the Jameson type... The kinda of guy that raises hell into everyone's life when things don't work the way he wants, and is in the verge of a heart attack because he's always stressed out.
Kate was an interesting character since the beginning... A little extra on her attitude, because let's be real... Who would talk to the CEO of a huge media empire, and also your boss, the way she talked to Elliot? But it was entertaining to see their interactions and the evolution of their interest in reach other.
Things got a lot better after they accept their attraction and the book took another direction entirely. One that I really loved!
Elliot starts to show his better side and Kate let go of her bitchness to be funny and vulnerable in a good way.
Their connection was amazing, super hot, and you could see clearly the growth of their feelings through each other.
Elliot as a sweet and romantic, but totally possessive and dominant farm man, is definitely worth every heart ache!
Another positive thing is all the interactions between the Miles brothers! They are truly an unique and united family! Looooved to see that Harry is still causing trouble to Tristan after all 😂.
This book is full of laughs and fun moments, as much as the sexy and hot ones.
The twist of the story wasn't a mistery to me, cause i could guess it very early, but it didn't ruined the book at all, since it was really well built and closed up.
I really enjoyed this book and I loved how it ended! It was sweet, funny, sexy, entertaining and when Elliot fucked up, the groveling was real! You go girl!

ya'll...this book 👁👄👁 1.5/2 stars.
this was bad, and elliot was a ✨sleaze bag✨along with his brothers (james and christopher or whatever tf the other brother's name is) . tristan is still cute as a dad.
despite it being a bigass book, i flew through it because of how entertaining it was. but GOD, it was bad.
-the steam did literally nothing for me
-still not over the casual "oh you're dressing like this at the office so you can seduce me and then accuse me of sexual assault" .....my god i-
-the only good thing about this book were the animals
-elliot had zero redeeming qualities to me
anyway, i had fun but dis me rn:

I love the Miles brothers, we have gotten to know Jameson, Tristian and now Elliot Miles Elliot is a mix between the arrogant Jameson the oldest and carefree Tristian. So this is the story of a couple that took them years like seven years to finally have feelings for each other and start noticing because both thought they were enemies, because they also work together in the same company. I’m also glad that I don’t have to read a hero or a heroine being with many people or have somebody along those seven years because it would be a annoying scene lol. I mean the hero did have many woman but I’m glad that the heroine didn’t have to see it in real life of them coming to the office or the heroine see it outside either. The heroine decides she wants to wear something more better than before and then the hero starts to pay attention her. It’s also a bit hot that the hero says that he’s been watching the video of the heroine dancing with a hot outfit and keep thinking about only her… which means he never went or go to anyone else since he finally starts noticing the heroine 😙💜💜
he even can’t stop looking or searching for the heroine since he first starts to liking her 😂😂😂

1. THE HEROINE IS TOO WEAK… I mean i get it that she’s weak because of her past but too weak for love for the hero even when he already do wrong things? When the hero say bad things that just so wrong, he came to apologize and the heroine never give him a hard time and just okay with it so easily. Like wtf. No wonder he’s ego becomes bigger and bigger… The hero said she is stubborn but also not too stubborn though, more like a “stubborn but weak woman” 😬
2. THE HERO doesn’t want to make it public with the heroine, he tries to hide the heroine so badly. and then when some woman tries to have a lift home because of her bad date from the party, he okay with it and didn’t hide her. He even said yes to that woman when the heroine can’t even be in the same room as her roommate which is a guy that is not even into her? Like wtf is wrong with him. Also after the hero apologizes, the heroine downgraded herself again and say yes. Like so easily… again….
3. When they go for a vacation together, they went with his private plane. He didn’t introduce the heroine to the crew like wtf? And also in that vacation he said their thing is going to be that weekend. But then after they went home, the hero said he want longer than that. Omg. What is up with his mind🥵 “He leads me through and past them. So no introduction of me? I just got on a plane where the pilot and stewardess addressed him by name, and yet he didn’t introduce me to them.”
4. THEY WENT TO A PARTY TOGETHER LIKE A GALA FORMAL SOMETHING LIKE THAT. THEY SIT ON A ROUND TABLE AND THE HEROINE HAVE TO GO THERE ALONE BECAUSE THE PAPARAZZI HERO SAID, THE HERO DOESN’T WANT THEM TO SEE HIM COMING THERE WITH HER SO SHE HAVE TO GO THERE ALONE IN SOME BACKDOOR😕 SO SHE SITS THERE ALONE AT FIRST, SOME GUY TRIES TO TALK TO HER AND THE HERO FINALLY SIT DOWN AFTER COUPLE OF MINUTES. THE HEROINE ONLY TALK TO THE GUY LIKE ONLY THAT!!!! NEVER MORE. THE HERO GOT JEALOUS AND TRIES TO MAKE THE HEROINE JEALOUS BY DANCING, TALKING, FLIRTING, TOUCHING (ONLY TOUCHING HER HANDS) IN FRONT OF THE HEROINE… This what made me give it 3 stars because thats just so disgusting of him to think thats okay. The heroine go away after that and that guy from earlier tries to walk with her make sure she’s going to be fine, THE HERO FOLLOWS THEM AND MAD AT THE GUY AND SAYS DO NOT TOUCH HER. LIKE WTF IS WRONG WITH THAT STINKS BRAIN OF YOURS HUH???!

THE HERO WENT TO SEE THE PAINTER HE LIKES SO MUCH IN FRANCE BECAUSE HE WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT THE PAINTER ISN’T THE ONE OR THE ONE BECAUSE HE HAVE A GOOD FEELING ABOUT THE PAINTER… LIKE HE LIKES HER… HE THOUGHT THE PAINTER WAS SOMEONE HE WAS WAITING FOR BECAUSE HE’S BEEN FANTASIZING ABOUT THE PAINTER AND HER PAINTINGS FOR A LONG TIME…. WHILE HE WAS DOING THAT, HE WAS STILL WITH THE HEROINE. I’m not going to tell you the whole thing because its just so messed up, but the way he even thinks thats okay to do so or okay to think that the painter is “probably the one” and not the heroine is just way beyond disrespectful and disgusting. You have to read if to understand what I’m saying!
6. THE HERO ALSO LIKES ANOTHER WOMAN WHO IS THE PAINTER WHILE HE SAID HE LOVES THE HEROINE. ALTHOUGH THE HERO NEVER PHYSICALLY EVER IN A RELATIONSHIP OR MEET THAT WOMAN, BUT STILL… I GOT THE CONCLUSION THAT WHILE HE WAS WITH THE HEROINE AND LIKING HER AND DOING SPECIAL THINGS TO HE NEVER DONE BEFORE WITH ANYONE ELSE, BACK IN HIS MIND THAT THE PAINTER IS SOMEONE HE WANTS TO SEE AND HE HAVE FEELINGS FOR EVEN THOUGH THE FEELING IS NOT LOVE… BUT STILL… “Our eyes are locked across the crowded room, the air between us swirls with electricity. Even if it is from someone that I’ve wanted for a long time. I think of my girl at home and my heart swells. I’m with kate.” 🥴 Why even go there and still think something so stupid then? 💩
7. THE ENDING IS GOOD THAT THEY ARE MARRIED BUT WHEN THEY RECONCILE IS JUST A BIT ANNOYING… THE HEROINE REALLY TAKES HIM BACK SO EASILY… no words or talk just hug and boom back together. Wtf. Can you at least ask are you going to break heart again? Nope. Weak woman.
For me the book is overall a good one. Just not for me and not my fave to go for in a book. I like a book who the hero when he see the heroine for the first time, he went for it and chase her down. But this one? They waited for seven years so thats why the hero have a mix up feelings about the heroine. Sometimes he feels their relationship or hookup is just meaningless, sometimes he feels safe and care about the heroine. He always do that and always thinks that. That both feelings is just not smart to me and not something i like to read. For me! It doesn’t mean you have to agree with me.
Idk if those scenes are cheating but in my head its not but idk I’m still confused😂😂😂

Like :
- Kate's as well as Elliot's profile for the dating app was hilarious.
- I liked Andrew, Elliot's driver.
- Kate's medication incident was funny. Sorry, I know I shouldn't laugh at that but it really was amusing.
- Christopher was hilarious. I liked him. But not enough to read his book when it'll be released.
Dislike :
- I liked Daniel at first. He was hilarious. But then, the author ruined his image for me. Honestly, that scene wasn't even necessary.
- I hated Kate's sister as soon as she appeared. I was so annoyed when Kate acted as a saint when it came to her sister. She betrayed you for fuck's sake. Ugh! She didn't even confront her.
- Elliot's caution seriously didn't make sense to me. Even Christian Grey wasn't like that. It was way over the top.
- Oh gosh! I wanted to kill myself reading Elliot and Kate's seductive dirty talking in the beginning. It was really pathetic. Fortunately, it became tolerable.
- I liked Kate at first too. But then she became the same spineless stupid female protagonist who tried to act tough all the time. I can't fathom how could she even forgave Elliot after what he did? I just can't. I thought she would be different.
- I just couldn't believe this sh!t. Elliot was actually lusting after another woman. Heck, he was actually tempted to go after her even after he and Kate started dating officially. But only didn't because all of a sudden he remembered he had a girlfriend. How fucking generous of him! Note the sarcasm. Oh well, he did choose to chase her after breaking up with Kate though only to realize he wanted Kate. I mean who wouldn't want a prince charming like him, am I right? Just disgusting. Elliot didn't deserve a second chance.
- The female protagonists from the previous two books of this series wasn't included in any conversation unless just an introduction to Kate counted.
Anyway, clearly I didn't enjoy this book as much as I predicted I would. It had no character development. It was steamy. I'll give you that. But I feel like it should've been ended at around 50% mark. Would've been at least a four star read for me then. I hate unnecessary artificial dramas for the sake of prolonging a book. Believe me, this book was full of it. It definitely had the potential. Writing style was good. However, I'm reluctant to read any more books of this author. Because she didn't really make a good impression. I'm glad I didn't pick up the previous books of this series. Not gonna read those ever. Overall, I wish it was an enjoyable read. Honestly, this was one of those book where I actually didn't want a happy ending. And I'm a sucker for happy endings.

I kept hoping this would turn around but...
I think the publisher needs to spend more time on editing and less on handing out hundreds of ARC books for reviews.
I lost track of typos in the first chapter.
The same descriptive words were used over and over and over and over: "I snapped" "I cried" "I screamed". I really would like to run this book through a word counter to see how many times the words snap or snapped were used. 34 year old men don't "cry" while speaking. It was perceived as incredibly childish the whole book.
Elliot is supposed to be 34 years old but throws temper tantrums like a 5 year old. Kate is supposed to be 27 but "giggles" at everything through 80% of the book.
Don't get me started on how absolutely TOXIC every single relationship in this book was. Their office banter at the beginning was beyond unprofessional and if I told my friends to "shut the f*ck up" like what happens in this book, I wouldn't have any. And again, they're constantly "snapping" at each other. Oh, and let's not forget about CREEPY Daniel...what the hell??? Seriously, the only character I actually liked was their mom.
There was potential here for the storyline and the twist at the end but the lack of care and delivery was impossible for me to get past. As readers, we shouldn't ignore poor quality work just to appease an author and I feel like that's what 99% of these reviews are doing.

This would’ve had to be the most painful and frustrating book EVER! While I loved the first like 60-70% of the book, the last 30-40% made me want to smash my head against the wall at least a million times and torture and kill Elliot in the worst way possible :D
There were many elements that I loved about this book!
For one the tropes: Enemies to lovers, office romance, enemies to friends with benefits to lovers, secret identity (kinda lol), penpals and opposites attract. The combination was amazing and the execution was also immaculate! The sexual tension was on top, the chemistry freaking amazing and their relationship (at the beginning at least) had me swooning!
I also loved the side characters! Daniel and Rebecca were everything! Especially Daniel. I loved him and honestly he would’ve been a way better match for Kate than Elliot if you ask me.
Speaking of Elliot… god do I DISLIKE him!! The first half of the book, he had me on my knees and I would’ve dropped everything for him in a heartbeat but after I’ve read about the first temper tantrum he had because Kate GOT flirted with and he decided to flirt WITH someone IN FRONT of her and she got mad about it and he didn’t like her being mad… oh did my liking towards him DROP! Tbf they weren’t officially together then so it could’ve been all good after that…
But it only got worse from there on out. He was with Kate.. she told him that she LOVED him and what did he do? Run off to freaking France after some woman he thought was his STUPID FUCKING DESTINY!!! He dropped everything he had with Kate.. for a woman he has NEVER MET BEFORE!!! Only because he liked her paintings… LIKE WTAF?!?!?! While he did nothing with her while he was visiting her… HE STILL FUCKING WENT!!! And what was his reason you may ask? BECAUSE HE DIDNT WANT TO LIVE WITH THE QUESTION OF “WHAT IF..?”!!! What. A. JOKE!!
If I was Kate, I would’ve dropped him in a HEARTBEAT! No grovelling could’ve ever fixed this for me.
While this issue did get resolved at the end in a kind if unexpected way that made it somehow a bit easier not to hate him… I still dislike him lmao. What he did isn’t redeemable in my opinion but everyone has a different view on these sort of things ig…
Now to Kate. Gosh do I LOVE her!! She’s my fav out of all the women in this series so far! She’s witty, smart, fun, stubborn and overall just incredible. She really deserves so much better than what she got at the end but oh well. But I do appreciate her making him grovel for 2 months (even though it should’ve at least been a decade). She was the best part of this book and I love her so much!! She’s an amazing FMC… just bad that she didn’t get an amazing MMC to match her incredibility.
Edit: Ok officially decided to give this book 2 stars because I really can’t look past what this piece of shit did. Love Kate, she’s the reason it still got 2 instead of 1 star… but Elliot can FUCK OFF!!! I’m honestly embarrassed that I thought that this book would be my fav in the series.. most definitely NOT!
Overall, the next book better make up for all the frustrations and heartache this one gave me. Christopher better not mess up THAT badly or istg I’m gonna kms and him as well.
