I absolutely loved Pierce & Rhiannon story, and so will you. All the action and suspense, I couldn't put it down. Thanks, Tonya, for writing another wonderful intense story.

Wow! Each book in this series just keeps getting better. Then story is intense and multi-faceted. The depth of emotion and soul-seeking by Pierce draws you in so much that you just really want him to get the HEA he deserves. Rhiannon is perfect for him. And the author doesn’t skimp on the side characters whether it’s Rylan, Michael, Dottie or even Alan and Dean. They are flushed out side characters with nuances and not stereotypes. Can’t wait for Rylan’s book and the new series. While you could read this stand alone, I think it’s better for having read the previous books in the series. I did receive an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This is yet another fantastic read in this action packed heart racing series! I adore Pierce and Rhiannon. They really go through it though! What a roller coaster ride this story is. Packed with everything a good romantic suspense should have and more.
I have been waiting for Pieece’s story and am so happy to finally have it.
Love the bond Pierce and Rhia forge while in what seems like the end for them before they can even really begin. They work so well together. The trust they share becomes a bond and then it escalates from there. Their heat and attraction cannot be denied. Their perilous situation helps to light the fire within them to take a leap, and not leave anything undone or unsaid and just let love in. Their chemistry sparks and jumps off the pages. Pierce’s need to protect her at all costs is sweet but it also keeps him thinking he should stay at arms length. Luckily she is feisty and determined and won’t let him get away with that.
And I just love his very cool and trusty companion:partner, Raszta, his faithful dog who is there to help protect them both. Such a good and smart boy!

I had been waiting for the book the entire series and it did not disappoint. Pierce and Rhiannah are thrown into a dangerous situation and not only have to navigate the elements, but also their attraction to one another. I loved seeing the representation of Deaf and Hard of Hearing characters in this story. Another great book by Tonya Burrows!

I am obviously in the minority here with my rating. I enjoyed books 1 - 6 in the series. I did not like the previous book nor did I like this book. The 2 books together covered one story line in that both involved an earthquake and in book 7 Sawyer was searching for Pierce but never found him. Book 7 was Sawyer's book and this one was Pierce's book. This book at least explained some of the existence and disappearance of characters in the previous book. Therefore this book ended the story that was started in book 7. I do not like continuous stories and cliffhangers.
It just so happens that Rhiannon knows sign language and is able to interpret. What a coincidence. What is the probability of that? You even have a kid thrown into the mix who is deaf and only knows sign language. Only about 3% of people in the US know and use sign language, yet you have 3 people who just happen to be at the same place at the same time.
What is the probability of Rhiannon and Pierce showing up at the same rest area and knowing each other? The coincidences just keep coming. The romance is just too instantaneous. Frankly I did not care for the story at all. By skimming and skipping chapters I was able to finish the book. Since I did not loose any information by skipping chapters I would say that the book was rather boring in the middle.
I will think hard and long about buying the last book. It will depend on who the female lead in the story is. If it is Izzy, then forget it.

I love the Redwood Coast Rescue series! Hunky, angsty heroes. Strong women (different kinds of strengths). Plenty of danger. Specially trained dogs of several breeds and skill sets.
This is Pierce St. James' story, and I had so been looking forward to reading it. But I'm struggling a bit with this review. Yes, I liked Pierce and Rhiannon Cross's story. The first half of the story is all about surviving an earthquake--and the second half is learning the secrets that Pierce is hiding (and the devastating truth about the injury that cost him his voice) and fighting to overcome the repercussions of that secret. Plenty of steam. Some protective stuff. Lots of action.
But... there is so much going on in this story--wrapping up some loose ends, setting up the next (and last) book, introducing characters that will be starring in their own series--that I feel like Pierce and Rhia got short-changed. I'm sure some readers will disagree, but it felt sort of like Pierce and Rhia's story was a novella woven in through a whole lot of other stuff. If I read it as a mainstream novel, it works fine. But if I'm reading it as a romance, then I just wanted more.
I've already preordered the last book, SEARCHING FOR VALOR, featuring Rylan Cross and Izzy Delgado (I assume). Like I said, I'm a big fan of this series, and I don't want it to end. But I wanted more of the emotional build-up for Pierce St. James.

Nobody listens when you yell in sign language!
We knew Pierce had secrets, but there's secrets and there's SECRETS! There is no wonder he is evasive and tries to keep to himself, not form bonds or relationships. He is hiding, running, protecting and sometimes not having a voice helps keep those secrets buried. But unfortunately for Pierce Redwood Coast Rescue are not happy to let people hide, they push, they prod, they invade and they ask the hard questions....they also never stop looking and never give up, thankfully!
I love the instant chemistry between Pierce and Rhiannon, you can sense the electricity sparking between them from the first second, hot, steamy and undeniable, it terrifies Pierce as it swamps him in an uneasy mix of dread and longing. He tries to put up walls, to bury the need, to protect her from his demons, but Rhia smashes through every defense, she knows they belong together and is determined that they will have forever and a day.....if they can just survive the earthquake, the assassins, the deadly invention and Rylan's temper.
It is beautiful to see Pierce and Razzy's protective instincts go into overdrive around Rhia, and the care and protection they all show Michael will bring a tear to your eye....ok, lots of tears!
We are only getting one more book in this series but it will be an explosive one - Rylan is Searching For Valor in the New Year and I think he may also be partaking in some humble pie too!

Running on a similar timeline to the previous novel (Searching Blind), the penultimate book in the Redwood Coast Rescue (RWCR) series, Searching for Secrets, is a thrilling story of survival against a shadowy enemy and high-tech weaponry amid the devastation of an earthquake. Whilst there were one or two elements that danced a little far into the fanciful for my liking based on the tone of the series, I still thoroughly enjoyed the concept and execution.
MMC Pierce’s mysterious backstory has intrigued me from the start of the series. I really appreciated learning more about him and his past and thought that FMC Rhiannon—bright, independent, and with a stubborn streak that rivalled Pierce’s own—was a great match for the gruff, secretive veteran. The chemistry between them crackled, feeling every bit like a delicious slow burn despite a few stolen kisses in the first two-thirds of the story. Whilst I’ll be sad to leave the RWCR characters behind as I finish the series, I’m definitely looking forward to reading the exciting finale, Searching for Valor, in the near future.

Another captivating story in this super series by Tonya. We get immediately thrown into the action when Pierce and Rhiannon are stuck with a bunch of people due to an earthquake.
Pierce has lost his voice during a mission that turned out to be a set up, so when he founds out he's being targeted again he leaves the RWCR compound to save his friends from harm. While at a rest stop he meets Rhiannon, whom he knows through Rylan, one of his teammates. When an earthquake forces them to take shelter inside the rest stop, things get dangerous very quick.
Rhiannon and Pierce have an immediate attraction, with Pierce even having had a secret crush on her even though he's never met her before in person. He's got such a troubled past though and lives in constant fear so he's trying his best to keep her at a distance. Rhiannon however slowly breaks down his defenses and while they're trying to keep everybody alive and find a way out, their give in to the attraction.
It's great to see yet another one of the team fall for his soulmate and I loved how protective Pierce got over Rhiannon. It was also super to see his beloved dog Raszta taking care of the little boy Michael and making sure he was safe.
Only one more book to go in this series. We finally get Rylan's story and I think that's going to be a super emotional one.

Love, LOVE it!! Really it was a fabulous read..Pierce is attempting to flee but can't let his dog partner behind and then fate make him meet Rylan's sister which he can't help but protect.
When an earthquake block then in a rest stop they will have to trust each other to survive and protect the civilian stuck with them while hoping for a rescue.....
Pierce is deeply good i loved how he took care of the child and how he still tried to help when the others were accusing him and paranoid...not sure i would have had the same patience.Raszta is an unique dog so loyal and cute i loved how he showed his master to relax near Rhiannon.
They are really perfect together and form a great team.
There are so many twists and really it was a wonderful reads and we meet some people new that t i really what to learn more about so the news about another series with them is an excellent news and i can't wait to discover this new team even if they introduced themself too forcibly in Pierce's life.

I really love this entire series and just how interconnected the books are. Not in ways that would make it impossible to understand what's going on if you haven't read earlier books. It's the tiny und super subtle things that get hinted at. And suddenly two books later 'BAM' all those little details come back and change everything.
That's what happens in Searching for Secrets. There is a lot of potential for "OMG! No way!" moments hidden in this story.
Even though out of the entire series this book is not necessarily the most fast paced or high stakes one I still felt Pierce got the story he deserved. And he definitely got the HEA he deserved.
Although, to be honest, my true highlights were a certain phone call and the sudden appearance of new characters. The whole time I was hoping to be witnessing the setting up of a new series about some serious alpha men candy. Because, dang, those new guys seem to be the definition of intense sexiness.
All in all I can't wait for all that is yet to come in this intense world created by Tonya Burrows.

Rhiannon got more than she bargained for when simply on a reunion trip to see her brother. An earthquake traps her and a large group of people inside a gift shop where sparks bloom between her brother’s best friend, Pierce. Pierce was injured in a military mission years before and lost his ability to speak and solely relies on ASL and written communications.
Throughout this action filled story and events, Rhiannon and Pierce grow a beautiful relationship that will be put up against multiple challenges. Their relationship develops naturally enough that it was a refreshing read vs any “instalove”.
Tonya Burrows does an amazing job at her use of a challenging story line, having a male MC who can only use ASL but still fully allowing conversation and meaningful communications throughout. Pierce battles his past demons throughout this story as they are truly coming to track him down. Will he come out alive and unscathed?

What a remarkable story! I can't believe the amount of drama, romance, action, and suspense that was poured into this novel. Pierce and Rhiannon know of each other before they are thrown together when a mountain gift shop collapses around them because of an earthquake. Their attraction is nearly instantaneous, though they try to resist, all while they are trying to take care of the group of folks they are trapped with and work on finding a way out. This situation is intense and suspenseful, but once the group is freed the serious action starts. Some major bad guys enter the picture, and conflict escalates. The story is full of believable secondary characters, including Pierce's dog Raszta. I hesitate to say more, since it would be easy to give too much away. This book definitely falls into the "bad decisions book club" category, meaning I had to stay up and finish it because I needed to know how it all worked out. So engaging and so entertaining!

After years on the run from Halston mercenary group, mute vet Pierce St. James is reluctant to give up his comforts from the last couple of years. Certain Halston’s closing in, Pierce and his dog Razsta stop for gas on their way out of the area to save the town. Rhiannon Cross, on her way to visit her brother, Rylan she recognizes Pierce and Rasta from a photo. He’s immediately charmed by Rhee but has to get away before he’s found. An earthquake changes that plan, Pierce and Rhee organize people in the shelter of a convenience store.
Meanwhile, the team is doing what they can at the center. Hearing bad news, the next thing on their agenda is researching Pierce so they can find him. Finally!!! We get Pierce’s story and the reason why he is on the run but before he get away, he gets trapped in the earthquake in a store just off the highway with others. Rhiannon, Ryland’s sister was on her way to surprise him with a visit, the earthquake hits just as she pulls off and recognizes Pierce and his dog Raszta. Now trapped, tensions and tempers rise, accusations are thrown, aftershocks and collapses, secrets exposed and through it all, Pierce and Rhia grow closer and just when you think it’s over….bam….more happens and the hits keep coming for these two.
A great read that had me flipping the pages, finally finding out what Pierce’s secret is….and it’s a doozy….didn't see that coming. The story flowed beautifully without skipping a beat, the sparks between these two…fireworks….the suspense, a roller coaster of a ride I didn’t want to get off of.

At the start of this one Pierce is running away, we're not really sure why, but know there was trouble for him in the last book. We find out so much about Pierce and after learning all of that, I don't blame him for running. But of course, his luck is crap and while running he encounters a massive earthquake, right after meeting Rylan's sister.
Things get crazy for the duo in the aftermath. Stuck with others, not looking good, until finally they are rescued right in time. Sadly that takes them from the frying pan into the fire and the threat that Pierce was running from comes at him hard, this time causing issues along the way.
Pierce managed to get himself and Rhiannon out of trouble, but it was close and sort of a hail mary thing. He was all set to run again, when he realized what he would be leaving, Rhiannon being the biggest regret. Thankfully he changed his mind and these 2 have a shot at a real future now where they can be happy.

I adore when stories overlap, and I have read them all. Rhiannon, an ASL interpreter, is coming to visit her brother Ryan a week earlier than expected. An earthquake creates a landslide and many are trapped in a roadside gift shop.
Pierce, a friend of her brothers’, is leaving town. He doesn’t want to bring danger to his friends. A past attempt to silence him resulted in injuries that require him to use ASL. A young boy separated from his parents is deaf, and also trapped.
A tense story of survival, from natural and unnatural sources. A rapport from the ability to communicate and shared interests. A special canine. The Readcoast team once again comes together in a fabulous read!!

Read in one sitting from start to finish. Page turner, emotional, suspenseful and even thought provoking. My emotions were all over the place with Pierce. What he went through in his past, what is happening now and where does he go in the future. Rhionnan had depth, empathy, intelligence and brought a sense of calm. Raszta (our search and rescue dog) Pierces therapy dog was icing on the cake. What a wild ride during the earthquake, the people. the personalities. When all the secrets come out and get their HEA I still sat back and thought about the government and what evil, greedy people can do. Thank you Tonya for the opportunity to read and advanced copy. Wow! I absolutely loved this book. Amazing characters and wonderful plot. Very beautifully written and easy to read.

A devastating betrayal left Pierce without his voice. He lives a quiet life with his search and rescue dog, Raszta. But when he gets trapped with Rhiannon, his past catches up with him. Now in this high tension and dangerous predicament they need to work together to get out of this in one piece. I loved their chemistry and passion. They were made for each other.
Overall I loved this book very much. If you’re looking for a thrilling romantic suspense then you’re going to love it.

Liked Rhia and Pierce. Their earthquake landslide trapped story was good. Except for the idiots that want to blame Pierce.
But then the story just gets nuts again.
An earthquake creating weapon. Destroying that weapon and being saved from the explosion by having the time to jump into an air vent. Riiiiggghhttt……..🙄🙄🙄🙄
I had to take out a star for how absolutely unrealistic this is that they would survive. He used his hand to shove something into this machine that caused the explosion. There is no way he had time to turn, grab Rhiannon, and get them both into an air vent. Bullshit!
I am so done with this series. I liked the dogs and the first couple of books were good. But then it just devolved into ridiculous craziness.

Another nail hitting and intense read from this author. I am enjoying this series more and more with each book that I read .
A brilliant book with 2 really likeable main characters. I love interconnected series as it’s like being reacquainted with old friends with each book.
A great story and I loved the setting of the gift shop at the start. The story flowed so beautifully and was a perfect mix of suspense, drama, steam and romance. This covered everything I need in a romantic suspense.
I am so looking forward to Rylan’s book and the excitement of a new series and intriguing new characters coming next year.

Another spectacular story in the Redwood Coast Rescue Series. Pierce is haunted by a dangerous past and trying to forge forward with the help of his amazing dog, Raszta. I love the dogs in the Redwood Coast Rescue Series! So loyal, so devoted, so full of personality! When Pierce is trapped with Rhiannon after an earthquake, Pierce's past comes calling revealing dangerous secrets and putting them all in danger. An edge of your seat, page-turning, action packed story that will pull you in from page one. Loved every page from beginning to end.

Have to say out of all the Redwood Coast Rescue books I’ve read this has to be my favourite. Not only do we get an intense story of survival, we finally get to find out the background on the elusive Pierce St. James.
Loved how the author brings this couple together, and has them be the perfect partner for each other. Of course it wouldn’t be a RCR story without all the others being included too, for this found family group.

Searching for Secrets was an awesome book! Tonya Burrows is awesome at writing
romantic suspense. I loved Pierce and Rhiannon’s story. I was drawn in from the beginning, and I couldn’t put it down. Pierce and Rhiannon meet in person right better disaster strikes. They struggle to survive and find deep feelings for each other. We’re finally find out what Pierce’s secrets are. Will he drive Rhiannon and his friends away to keep them safe? I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I can’t wait for the next one!

Not that he had anything against Rhiannon, not really. She was just...unexpected. And in his line of work, unexpected could be dangerous.
Pierce St. James was trying to head out of town. Who knew it would take an earthquake to keep him where he should have stayed all along.
Rhiannon was going to visit her brother, Ryan. Ending up in the same place as Pierce was definitely a coincidence. And likely saved her life.

Finally
I have been reading romance novels since my teens. In my 44 years, I have never read about a character that was hearing impaired like myself that wasn't either deaf or an elderly person whose hearing loss was a punchline. To have one of my all-time favorite authors write a story with a hearing impaired heroine, was amazing, and so inspiring.
This story itself was all the adventure and romance I love and expect from Tonya. It just had a little more meaning for me this time around. Can't wait for the next one!

Wonderful Series
Loved Rhiannon and Pierces story. Lots of action that draws the reader in wondering who really are the bad guys and will things work out for the two lead characters in the end. Every dog featured in each book of this series are special and bring a smile to the readers face when hearing about them. Looking forward to reading last book in this series when it's released.
