Nothing is as it seems in this twisted psychological thriller that will keep you guessing until the last page.
The Therapist by C.L. Sutton 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 What a wild psychological thriller! This book is super engaging and grabbed me from the beginning. You are supposed to be able to trust your therapist, but sometimes things don’t go as planned! I thought I had some parts figured out and then a twist would come!! Then another… and another!! This book is so much fun to read! It’s very well written and is suspenseful and thrilling! My jaw was wide open during the last few chapters! Wow!
Thank you to C.L. Sutton for an arc of this fantastic and intense psychological thriller! 🔪 This is the 3rd book I’ve read from the author and they have all been 5🌟!
I really enjoyed this book, I found it engaging and thought-provoking. The steady pace of the book was another factor that contributed to my enjoyment which gradually built the tension as I went through each chapter. The book had a good suspenseful plot with interesting characters. I thought the twist at the end was brilliant, which I wasn’t expecting !

Spoilers ahead • • 3.5 ⭐️ rounded up to 4. This was a book with many twists and turns throughout, I was surprised at many of the unfolding of the story and thought it was well written.
Zack is a therapist who lives in an unhappy marriage with disdain for his wife but love for his daughter. I found his character utterly clueless and frankly jarring which is what I believe the author may of intended. He truly is a walking contradiction. He blames everyone for his problems when he is the root of them all.
It starts with the comments of his wife being an unfit mother and his hatred for his wife really rings loud throughout. Their relationship was toxic and I think he truly believes that he was in the right. One quote got me when he said “How dare she defy me when I know best, I’m a qualified psychologist.” He is on a power trip thinking he is always in the right. But clearly he needs to work on his skills because how can someone be so blind?! He creates a toxic environment for his daughter yet claims it’s all at the hands of his wife.
Then we meet Millie, who seemingly appears broken and innocent and in need of his services. Zack is a therapist that specialises in domestic abuse (the irony is not left on me that he is an abuser himself). My first thoughts were Is he helping her or is he consumed by the idea of her? Does he presume she’s meek and mouldable into something his wife could never be? We later discover that things are not all that they seem.
The twists throughout kept me hooked and I read this in a day. Overall I enjoyed the book and would recommend others to read but be warned Zack might just make you face palm with annoyance!

This book was just okay for me. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t my favorite of hers either. It dragged on for me, too much of the same action and behavior. Would have liked a little more action- maybe snapshots of his previous “relationships” with his patients? Maybe involve his father more in the story. I didn’t find the characters diverse. The ending was awesome with the twist.
This was absolutely bonkers, such an unreliable narrator and it worked so well I was so engrossed to work out what was true and what wasn't. I am glad the ending worked out how it did but I was incredibly shocked on how it got there - how left field was that.
This was an enjoyable read (disturbing - given some of the themes) and I read it in an afternoon.
This was my read by this author and i cam say I've already bought another by them before writing this review! Gripped into the drama really quickly and easily I was invested in all that was The Therapist. So many twists, secrets and craziness from start to end keeping you reading to see whats next for Zack!
Every book of Sutton’s just gets better & better! This one came full force with the twists and I was shocked by the way it ends. Such a good read, I had it read in one sitting. I can’t wait for her next book already!
This started off so good and I was gripped but then the whole scene outside Millie's house just threw me off. It was weird and creepy and not in a good way. The twists were unrealistic and the ended just was a bit laughable.
une véritable découverte! un vrai coup de cœur un thriller astucieux, maîtrisé à la perfection, où fausses pistes et faux semblants se croisent dans un suspense des plus haletants jusqu'à la dernière page.
Didn't know how to rate this one. It was fast and lots happened but it was also completely ridiculous and unbelievable. The only people I felt sorry for were Georgia and Aaron, everyone else was insane.
I thought it was quite clever turning a nice man into a monster but I found the last few chapters tires on and silly. I wouldn't read anything else by this writer.
Excellente intrigue, des personnages bien décrits. Mais gros bémol pour la traduction qui rend presque l'ensemble illisible (et tourne des passages au ridicule)
this is pretty fast paced and quite the psychological thriller, read it in one sitting, probably not a book ill remember forever but it was good read for today
When old fashioned values clash with modern changes there are some strong irreversible damage. Good plot but was predictable. Unsure if I would read more by author
It was a quick read but I felt myself getting a bit bored with it, it did seem a bit predictable. I did enjoy reading it from the male perspective though as the books I read tend to be from the females.
