In a world where survival is just the beginning, community is everything.
Jaclyn, Velasquez, and the community of Rohn Land face new challenges as they try to come together and survive the aftermath of the EMP. But some people don’t have the community’s best interest at heart and don’t want to see Rohn Land thrive.
Left stranded and clinging to life after sniper fire, Gracie fights for survival against overwhelming odds. With her injuries severe and no safe haven in sight, her determination to reunite with the people of Rohn Land is pushed to its limits.
Can the community of Rohn Land stay united and resilient in the face of internal and external threats? And will Gracie be able to heal and make her way home?
Millie Copper, writer of Cozy Apocalyptic Fiction and preparedness mentor, was born in Nebraska but never lived there. Her parents fully embraced wanderlust and moved regularly, giving her an advantage of being from nowhere and everywhere.
Millie Copper lives in the wilds of Wyoming with her husband and young son, tending chickens and attempting a food forest on their small homestead. After living off the grid for several years, they've recently gone back on the grid. Four adult daughters, three sons-in-law, and five grandchildren round out the family.
Since 2009, Millie has authored articles on traditional foods, alternative health, homesteading, and preparedness-many times all within the same piece. Millie has penned seven nonfiction, traditional food focused books, sharing how, with a little creativity, anyone can transition to a real foods diet without overwhelming their food budget.
The twelve-installment Havoc in Wyoming and six-installment Montana Mayhem Christian Post-Apocalyptic fiction series use her homesteading, off-the-grid, and preparedness lifestyle as a guide. The adventures continue with the upcoming Dakota Destruction series.
Much of this book 2 moves very slowly and rather makes the apocalypse seem almost boring. The writing and editing is fairly good, but with some occasional awkward sentences ("Depending on McKenzie, Jaclyn would have the opportunity to get a complete night of sleep."). It made no sense to me that a wanna-be warlord in Billings would have a fixation to capture a 60s-year-old, obese woman, but there we were. There is also way too much praying and God in this. I don't mind a little since disaster would make some people lean that way, but this was more than I care for. I did want Chet and Gracie to make it home, but will have to assume they do since I am not continuing.
This is a good Christian apocalyptic story! I do find it an interesting read for the outlook of what is expected from men & women in this destroyed society! Good ideas, good pace, once it gets going & for me a good addition to this nicely developed chaotic world!
Yellowstone County Fall, book 1, grabbed my attention with an apocalyptic tale that involves some very entertaining characters, dangerous situations and an ongoing mystery. YCF book 2 continues the well written thriller that made me want to beg the talented author, Millie Copper, to abandon all other activities so she can concentrate solely on writing book. I would never ask such a rude and selfish thing but, if she decides, on her own, to do so I will be very grateful 😉. I highly recommend this series, as well as, every other book Millie has written.
Disclaimer: I received this ARC from the author and this is my honest and freely given opinion.
People coming together in such unprecedented times fighting for survival and helping strangers along the way. Experiencing tragedy and loss yet maintaining their faith is quite remarkable. Jaclyn's confidence is really growing. I love seeing her stand up for herself. Gracie is a fighter and I can't wait to see how her budding new relationship plays out. I still can't work out Ashley's end game, but her odd behavior has been noticed by others. I read this in no time, the suspense made it really hard to put down. The comeraderie, the unwavering faith and the love. I can't wait to see what happens next.
"I received a copy of this book from the author as part of the ARC Team."
Excellent continuation of the story started in Yellowstone County Fall. Millie Copper has gotten me invested in the lives of the folks of Rohn Land and hoping they sniff out what on earth certain people in the community are up to. The suspicion is building and I'm a bit afraid of what plot will be unhatched next, especially as they start to work with others more.
Loved seeing Velasquez take charge and become fully integrated in the community, and all of the snippets of tips and preparedness ideas that Copper always weaves into her books. Now to get Gracie well and back home!
I can't wait to find out what's next for everyone and how they'll weather everything!
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I really liked this second book in the Yellowstone County Fall series. The author writes wonderful relatable characters that the reader can’t help but feel invested in. The story moves very quickly and has plenty of suspense. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
Yellowstone County Fall is an excellent addition to the October Fall series. It keeps you guessing how everyone will survive. And who can be trusted or who will turn traitor. Waiting impatiently for #3!
This book was great. There were lot of episodes that were fast passed. The different trials kept the readers very interested. Ready for some more books from the Yellowstone Fall 2 series.
A good continuation of the Yellowstone County story line. I can see another couple of books on the horizon. The October Fall series delivers one blockbuster after another!
Boy this book took be by surprise and with apprehension. Now it is all you can do but wait for the next series so we can find out what happens. A must read.
