You know football is nigh with the release of Thinking Texas Football, known colloquially as TFF or even more colloquially as The Burnt Orange Bible. Whatever you call it should be followed by the words thorough, thoughtful, and amusing. As a fan of Mr. Wadlington's work back to the days of Barking Carnival, this year's prospectus was just what I've come to expect--thorough research combined with outstanding football acumen and a few shots of biting humor. The Texas roster is covered by position group along with a preview of each Longhorn opponent this coming season. SEC teams not on this year's slate are also previewed, concluding with capsules of each member of the incoming Longhorn recruiting class. Throw in some terrific Will Gallagher photography and you've got the only Texas Longhorn preview you'll need. I would be remiss if I didn't add a plug for the author's Everyone Gets a Trophy podcast along with the Inside Texas website, where he is a regular contributor. His postmortem columns alone are worth the subscription rate. Hook 'em!

3 star good read if you’re a fan of any SEC team and want to get insight on all of them with a particular focus on a newcomer to the conference.
