The idyllic town of Fairview, Colorado, is as well-known for their ski slopes as they are for their hometown semi-pro hockey team the Fairview Falcons. But as unforeseen love arises, everything gets turned on its head.
Sports analyst Dani Avery prides herself on breaking down plays to improve the team's tactics. But what she didn’t expect was a romantic opportunity with the team’s well-respected captain.
When a bad-boy enforcer on the ice enters the picture, Dani finds herself torn between two very different players--and not even her analytical mind can choose…
PUCK FAIRVIEW FALCONS HOCKEY BOOK 1 is the captivating first book in a new sports romance saga brimming with clever comedy, touching scenes, steamy undercurrents, and surprising turns. Each installment introduces charming new leads who are sure to intrigue you and hold your attention, making it impossible to put down the book until the early morning hours.
Future books in the series will soon be available!
so this book was the first book on my kindle so I feel like I need to be nice to it.
This book has literally nothing till the last 20%, and unfortunately that is VERY rushed. The romance in this book is non existent, and Dani literally gose from “I don’t want a relationship” and “lets not bc of the team” to in a relationship with no development.
Also this is no a love triangle. 2 like her and she is just there.
WHY WAS IT AARON???? Tyler had so much more backstory! I feel like it was an impromptu decision to change the male lead in the end. Don’t like it. And jenna and Aaron fit together so well too! WHYYYYYYY

there’s not much of a plot, i was unfortunately quite bored. also the apple audiobook is so bad there were so many mispronunciations, repeated sentences, and chapter 8 was straight up missing
It seemed like the author was trying to get us to root for Tyler, and I was 100% team Tyler (also the whole poetry thing with Aaron was cringe), but then Dani chose Aaron so I was a little disappointed.
Overall enjoyable though— a cute read for anyone who loves either a sports romance and/or a cozy winter story.

As a female who grew up in and currently works in sports, I always try to be gracious to authors of sports romances during moments that don’t seem realistic or are too cheesy. And this book was definitely unrealistic and cheesy, but I can get past that. Mostly.
However, the level of unprofessionalism from the main character in nearly every working moment in this book was so wild to me that I had to write my first goodreads review and offer some constructive criticism. I’d like to first point out that I’m a huge sports romance fan. However, there is a way to pull off the athlete+staff trope that doesn’t make me wonder if HR was on permanent vacation. This book is not it.
The MC constantly mentioned wanting to be treated fairly and prove herself worthy to be in a male-dominated environment, and yet at every opportunity she was in inappropriate one-on-one moments with the players, going on dates with several of them, flirting with them, kissing one in front of the entire team, had PDA with them, entertained advances from multiple players, went completely outside of her job description for them, used her job insecurity to motivate the MMCs to get along, and the list goes on. It really does.
Not only is this behavior inappropriate by a male or female in any kind of working environment, but that level of unprofessionalism by a woman trying to prove herself to be competent and successful in her role is hypocritical and does not contribute at all to the real-world (or Puck Luck-world) narrative that women belong in sports.
Again, I do truly try to be gracious to authors in sports romances, but it wasn’t just a few moments here and there as most of these books tend to have. It was genuinely every time she went to work. Based on similar reviews I’ve seen and from my own reading, it did feel like the author googled sports buzzwords and tried to include as many as possible.
Overall, because it was a plot point and it was mentioned repeatedly, the author needs to do further research about what a woman in sports actually looks like (especially outside of romance) in order to make the MC’s desires much more realistic, not to mention contribute better understanding to a real-world issue that women in sports deal with every day.
This book is focused mostly on the characters relationships and severely lacks a plot. The little plot there is does nothing to add to the build up of the characters relationships. It seemed as if the characters flaws were the focus yet there was no real growth. Just a random “I understand my problems and I’ll let it go”.
The writing was also an overkill. Detail is key when reading a book, to help build a picture and world in our minds but there is a balance. You don’t want too little detail but too much makes it a bit of a drag. And that’s what this author did. The over detailed, over explained imagery caused many sentences to run far too long. Reaching nearly 3-4 lines in the book. I couldn’t even grasp what the imagery was supposed to look like because it had so many different aspects in ONE sentence. Plus, the imagery was repeated in nearly every paragraph.
It was a cute story but didn’t do much for me, it felt flat.
Had a strong hockey plot about friendship and family. How important a team is when hockey is your life. Hockey stats and analysts can play an important role in sports. A lot of good metaphors throughout the book, definitely gives good imagery as you read. HEA for all the MCs which made me happy bc I almost thought one of the triangle men would be heart broken! Also, there is no spice.
Definitely had some repetitive lines and content (and metaphors) but a solid read for my hockey & hockey romance obsessed self. It was not necessarily romance centered, despite the appeal of the cover, which isn’t a bad thing, it was a nice palette cleanser. I also don’t feel that the analyst role was completely accurate, not that I have that knowledge either tho.
Overall, a good read that I enjoyed! Just go into it with an open mind and don’t be super technical.
This was my second attempt with this author on another of her series, but it is just like the Silverpeak Sabres series. FMC with some kind of background in hockey/skating starts new job with team and is going to turn the whole team around with her "fill in the blank skill". She will have two MMC interested in her and wait until the very end of the book to pick one. This is the synopsis of every book I have read from this author so far. I was hoping that moving to a new series of hers there might be a new plot but nope same old, same old. I have already wasted my borrows on this series so I will finish them, but I don't think I will try anymore books from this author.
Honestly I finished this because I never DNF a book. But it was hard. With no disrespect to the author I found this book incredibly boring. It had no happy ending, no big twist. Nothing. If you took all the background knowledge and characters for a good love story this would be those characters book. I get more excitement and tea from a night out with the girls about their love life than I did the time I spent reading this book. Will NOT be finishing the series.
I’m sorry what did I just read… a hockey love triangle where she was back and forth between a guy with a deep background that actually made him have character. and a guy who may have been a brick because he was so boring. AND WHO DO YOU THINK SHE CHOSE… you guessed right the brick. and the other guy just went and got with the girls best friend. you’re telling me you’re over her that fast!?!?
btw it was an audiobook on Apple Books to listen to while I color
I agree with what some other fans said. Jenna and Aaron should and been together and Dani & Tyler instead. The whole book was a bit too uneventful for me. I love these cutesy hockey romances but this fell a bit short. I always give authors at least 2 stars because hell you wrote a book and thay is not an easy thing to do. Plot was lacking. I'd give her books a other try though.

My bar for hockey smut was set high and this book disappointed. Not one sentence of smut. Sure a couple of kisses but that was it. This was like family friendly. They tried to add in some crime but it faltered. And the spelling/grammer mistakes- did no one proof read this. Ratings a three due to that and no smut. Thank goodness it was short.
Listened to this as an audiobook for a long car ride I recently had to make. It was easy enough to listen to and keep my mind occupied for the long drive, but wasn’t great and not something I’d ever recommend to someone.
The story was alright. I'm accustomed to my hockey romance being more romance 💙 and less hockey 🏒 I was a bit shocked with the amount of hockey conversation that took place. With that said, it was a quick read
3.5 overall. I couldn’t bring myself to DNF it, but it wasn’t the best hockey romance. Did the team even have a goalie?? So many things just were missed. And it felt like most of the convos were written by an AI
Meh het was wel heel simpel allemaal. Het begon goed maar werd steeds minder. De romance opbouw was niet echt en ineens bam alles happy en klaar... Te snel en niet alles liep goed over in elkaar.
