Her fated future is waiting.
But Lennox Adair doesn’t believe in fate.

Lennox Adair is determined to leave the past behind.

But there are things even she can’t outrun.

Like her parents and brother’s deaths and her arranged marriage to Luka Rossi—the vampire who she let into her heart, only for him to have a hand in leaving it in more shards than when they met.

While Lennox has been trying to forget Luka, he’s spent every day since she demanded him to leave Alethens trying to find a way out of their arranged marriage.

Not for his sake. For hers. Even if it comes at the price of his own happiness.

With their wedding looming on the horizon, circumstances force Lennox and Luka together once again. They test the boundaries of their fragile relationship as they work alongside their friends in search of Astria’s spellbook, the key to ending their arranged marriage.

As the gang continues their adventures across Lethenia, they encounter abominations of nature that have started killing their way through the Blood Court. Lennox and Luka are certain the Vanir are responsible for the bloodthirsty creatures, giving them another reason why the organization must be stopped before they can wreak havoc across the continent.

Lennox and Luka put their lives and hearts at risk as they fight for their future. What that future looks like, is yet to be determined.

Bravo Kaitlyn!! Your writing continues to be phenomenal! Once again I ate this book up! We continue on Lennox and Lukas journey to find Astrias spell book to try to get out of their soon to be arranged marriage. This brings us into the new setting of the blood court and seeing Lukas home. You get to experience the turmoil their relationship goes through and how it brings them even closer together. They might just discover what the always thought they needed has been right in front of them the whole time. The new creatures introduced are seriously things nightmares are made of. They face numerous obstacles meant to break them and it leaves you turning pages at rapid rates to see what happens next. You will get to know and love these side characters and they become just as important to you as the main characters. We actually gain a new POV from one of them. I can't recommend this series enough! Obsessed!

Wow. Wow. Wow. This series will one day be as well known as ACOTAR and Fourth Wing. The plot is never boring with aspects of adventure and travel while court appearances have to be kept up with. Lennox, Luka, and their mystery gang are all so lovable to where their POVs are just as exciting as the main characters. We love a sassy FMC and an “I can’t help but love her” MMC. Considering how the last book ended with Lennox sending Luka away, I was pleasantly surprised with how their relationship changed in this book. The cliffhanger at the end…… I’m ready for the next one!

I wish I could say that I’m shocked at how fast I read this, but I’m not. Kaitlyn, you’ve done it again. I didn’t think I could be more obsessed with this story and these characters, but boy was I wrong. When I say this is one of my favorite fantasy reads (and series) of all time, I MEAN IT. I will never stop talking about these books and I already cannot wait for book 3!

Releases February 7, 2025!!! This book is not your typical book 2 slump, and its release makes it your perfect cure to an Onyx Storm hangover!

In this book, you continue with Luka and Lennox’s story with additional perspectives! Not only do you continue the romance, but this book dives deeper in the Vanir in the midst of beasts unknown to the crew until now. This book will have you on the edge of your seat hoping they all survive. Stakes are high, and the romance is complicated but don’t worry you still get the spice!

4.5✨ | QUEEN OF THE CRIMSON THRONE

A spectacular sequel that peels back the layers of this continuing narrative from new vantage points, Queen of the Crimson Throne is an enthralling adventure which keeps one wildly enamored 'til the very last page. With new mysteries ensnaring our beloved cast through heart-stopping twists and a handful of fascinating truths directing this epic tale towards unexpected (and harrowing!) horizons, this volume easily solidified my love for not only this engrossing romantasy but for Swanson’s impeccable storytelling across the board.

Delving deeply into the hearts of our charismatic and often stubborn leads, this volume skillfully spotlights Lennox & Luka’s tangled love story and unravels their complex natures to their barest planes. The tension, resistance, passion and love that exists between these two forces is utterly mesmerizing to witness within these pages and the ordeals in which they both find themselves tend to draw rather intense emotions. The concept of arranged marriage is a crucial piece in their romance and the way in which it is creatively handled lends to their story & the leading mystery in riveting form.

While the emotional aspects of this story are enough to make it a winning read, the vibrant landscape crafting, unique take on vampire lore, and the accompanying cast of of personalities makes this novel shine in the brightest of lights. This time around, Swanson invites readers into an unseen court, exploring its thrilling corners and darks depths with a sharp clarity. Though it is the the steal-stealing figures of this unique found family that color this tale in the boldest hues. Every character adds such value to tale, peppering these pages with hints of their own intriguing intricacies and personal stories. As much as I love our cherished principal duo (just obsessed!), I’m VERY interested in learning more about these secondary characters (*cough cough* Luce) in the following volumes of this incredibly thrilling series.

FINAL VERDICT // A wildly absorbing adventure of a read, Queen of the Crimson Throne is an intensely thrilling, high stakes account of mystery, magic and intense romance that aims for the heart. Radiating with an electrifying energy right from its opening, this addictive tale will keep one reading well into the night and gasping for air by its jaw-dripping close. A novel I devoured in single day, this sequel elevates this series in breathtaking form & becomes one I couldn’t recommend more strongly — it’s truly an extraordinary saga that shouldn’t be missed. Simply fantastic!

*Many thanks to author Kaitlyn Swanson for allowing me to ARC read this fantastic sequel. All thoughts, comments, and signature Final Verdicts are freely and authentically shared.

The scream that left my throat at the end of this book was equivalent to when a flying cockroach decides to surprise you and land on your face.

"𝐓𝐨 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐨'𝐬 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐨 𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐞𝐭, 𝐭𝐨𝐨 𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥, 𝐭𝐨𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞, 𝐭𝐨𝐨 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠"

While Book 1 (Queen of Blood and Stardust) was a wild ride all in it's own, we were able to see the beautiful relationship between Lennox and Luka blossom. From true enemies to friends then to....FRIENDS (iykyk) - there was adventure, grief and so much laughter within this squad. But then the big secret came at the end, which only brought on anger and turmoil.

"𝑰'𝒎 𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒃𝒓𝒐𝒌𝒆𝒏."
"𝑰 𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘."

Book 2 starts up and it never lets down. From the world building of the Blood Court, the constant internalization of Lennox's feelings just eating her up, to the intense mysteries that are brought forth - I was absolutely enthralled the whole way through. The boiling tension between our FMC and MMC had me gritting my teeth, choking on sobs and ugly laughing at their companions. (Side note: I NEED MORE LUCIANA AND NICO cough cough)

"𝐈 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮. 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐨 𝐝𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐝. 𝐈 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮'𝐫𝐞 𝐛𝐫𝐨𝐤𝐞𝐧 𝐛𝐞𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐫, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐈 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭."

Lennox's growth from beginning to end made me feel so proud. She so powerful and strong. And Luka never leaving her side through it all - Come on, man. LUKA IS EVERYTHING. Luciana is a formidable force. I loved seeing Kara go from this sweet thing to absolutely vicious when needed. Nico is smug, hilarious and everything you think from a wolf shifter. And I absolutely adored seeing Declan's soft side.

"𝑰 𝒘𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒓𝒊𝒑 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒔 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒌𝒚 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒊𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕'𝒔 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒅"

If you're looking for not only a romantic fantasy to read, but an adventure that provokes the questioning of our choices and how those choices define you, both past and present - this is for you!

Tropes:

"Queen of the Crimson Throne" by Kaitlyn Swanson is a mesmerizing tale that seamlessly weaves elements of romance, suspense, and fantasy into a rich tapestry of storytelling. The protagonist, Lennox Adair, is a compelling character whose fierce independence and tumultuous past make her a heroine to root for from the very first page.

Lennox's journey is intricately plotted against the backdrop of her looming arranged marriage to Luka Rossi, a vampire whose betrayal has left deep scars on her heart. Swanson skillfully explores themes of fate, redemption, and the power of choice, as Lennox strives to overcome her grief and the dark shadows of her family's deaths.

The narrative shines in its portrayal of complex relationships, particularly between Lennox and Luka. Their dynamic is fraught with tension and unresolved passion, making each of their encounters crackle with emotional intensity. The addition of a mysterious spellbook and the looming threat from the sinister Vanir organization adds layers of intrigue and danger to their quest.

Swanson's world-building is exceptional, crafting a universe where the supernatural blends with the all-too-human struggles of love, loss, and personal destiny. The vivid descriptions of Lethenia and the sinister Blood Court bring the story to life, creating a setting that is both enchanting and terrifying.

"Queen of the Crimson Throne" is not just a love story or a fantasy adventure—it's a profound exploration of how our choices define us and how our pasts shape our futures. The book promises to leave readers breathless and longing for more, making it a must-read for fans of the genre. Swanson has truly outdone herself with this unforgettable saga.

Queen of the Crimson Throne picks up a few weeks from where Book 1 left off, and Kaitlyn Swanson doesn't waste any time in sweeping us right back into Lennox and Luka's riveting story.

There are darker vibes in this one. 😳

I'm not going to go into too much detail about the plot, which continues on from Queen of Blood and Stardust, but with the addition of an extra POV. Instead of simply moving between our main couple, we learn more about Lennox's cousin, Luciana. I'm starting to think Kaitlyn has a thing for names that start with 'L' 😂 Luciana brings a fresh aspect to the plot as the sole heir of the Mystic Court, the kingdom of witches. I loved seeing this sassy, independent woman, as well as other side characters introduced in the previous book take the spotlight.

Swanson's writing was once again fast-paced, and I was invested from the start. My only complaint is that sometime near the middle, leading up to the final act, I began to find Lennox a bit repetitive, and she kept spiralling through the same mindset that she has maintained throughout majority of both novels. I wouldn't say she lacked development, but her development was not positive, which I found a little hard to read because I adored her character in Queen of Blood and Stardust.

I'm obsessed with Nico; he's such a fun and lovable character, and I'm curious about his past. I NEED to know. I can't get enough of Declan, and I really want to see more of his character and relationship, which at the moment keeps hovering of the edge of the page. And Luka is still WOW! 💖

So much yet to come, and I can't wait for book 3.

I have both no words and ALL of the words on the tip of my tongue. I was on the fence about whether or not I wanted to start this immediately after finishing Queen of Blood and Stardust or wait until closer to the release of the third book. After thinking about how the first one ended almost non-stop for 24 hours, I dove into this.

Trying to avoid giving any spoilers, I thought that this one picked up right after the explosive events of the ending of QOBAS and didn't take a lot of time to get into the nitty gritty of the aftermath. The world building continues more in this one, but didn't detract from the story at all, and I thought it was actually critical to pushing the plot forward.

The one thing I thought was interesting is that the way vampires, witches, and fae in this world operate and what does or doesn't work for them. It's just different from other books I've read in the genres and I thought it kept me on my toes a little bit more.

While Kaitlyn Swanson is a new author, I thought the story development here was really well done, and I'm just sad that I have to wait until November for the final book in the series.

Also, in my review of the first book, I made a comment about needing an editor. This book had a few minor spelling and grammar issues, but was overall so much better and didn't take away from the book. Just want to call out that the first book was indeed, a fluke.

I've been thinking about Lennox & Luka since I read the first one. Characters that stick with you is always a good sign.

At first Lennox & Luka have a difficult time with reconciliation after his being so secretive about a specific detail in the previous book in regards to their relationship. We see them not telling one another things and downright refusing to communicate too.

At about 19% percent in you wind up with a scare. A creature feature. I won't elaborate except to say the author not only portrays anxty violent characters with witty banter easily, apparently is solid as creating dark imagery. In terms of setting, fear, and monsters.

Eventually, Lennox & Luka start to move together towards peace. At first struggling with feelings of whether or not they still wish to go through with their marriage.

These characters provided as much snark, understanding moments, and adventure as before whilst also pulling us further into the lore including history behind Hecate & Astria. Illuminating the reason her family (except her sister & herself)were killed at the start of the first book. Which you'll have to read to find out.

Everything I loved in the first one plus so much more. What didn't it have? It had it all.
Expanded upon world-building understanding, adventure, battles, sass, cute moments between characters, reflective moments of realistic emotions, danger, monsters, near death, royal parties, supernatural abilities.

I'm loving this series.
Excited about the third installment.

THIS IS WITHOUT A DOUBT A FIVE-STAR READ!!

5/5 ⭐

WHAT A RIDE THIS BOOK WAS!! Keep in mind this is book 2 of the Queen of Blood and Stardust series (if you haven't read book 1 go, run, do not walk, R U N)

We start our story a couple of weeks after the events of book 1 and I was HOOKED, I NEEDED this and AAAHHH I couldn't have asked for a more incredible book than this one.

Lennox, OHMYGOD, where do I even begin? I loved her so so much, her character growth from the beginning of this book to the end was amazing to see, and my heart was crying happy (and sad) tears.

Luka Rossi, THE MAN YOU ARE (vampire but you understand) I SURE I AM SINGLE BECAUSE OF FICTIONAL MEN LIKE THESE. And his relationship with Lennox, how they navigate their feelings, how they push one another towards the best version of themselves AAAHHH I am so happy and so sad because IYKYK.

A pleasant suprise in this book was Luciana, I DID NOT THINK I WAS GOING TO LOVE HER SO MUCH, AND HER AND NICO?!?!?!? YES, PLEASE.

The found family was perfect, I literally am DYING after this ending and I know I'll forever be thinking about these characters (I am in love).

THE ENDING... YEAH HOW DARE YOU KAITLYN!!! (BTW love you and this book was AAHHINCREDIBLE)

If you haven't go read book 1, and if you have already read it this is the perfect book 2 and you'll become more and more in love with these characters and this story.

Love you all and happy reading 💋💋

I'm a bit delulu because I JUST finished reading this and I'm CRYING and need Book 3 NOW. lol

If you don't want to stick around for the entire review, just know this: THIS BOOK IS SO GOOD. I think it is a true work of art and Kaitlyn Swanson has a serious freaking talent for weaving together an AMAZING love story while simultaneously building this beautiful fantasy world. GO READ THIS BOOK!

Now for the people who want to stick around for a bit longer... I always like to be honest in my reviews when I received an ARC copy of a book. I received this book as an ARC and had to read the first in the series before reading my ARC copy to catch up. Queen of the Crimson Throne is Book 2 in a trilogy series. Book 3 is set to release in 2025 as well (if I'm not mistaking).

Queen of Blood and Stardust is Book 1 and I rated that one 4 stars. It was good, don't get me wrong, it was really good, but something just felt like it was missing a bit for me.

Fast forward to Queen of the Crimson Throne and I'm 100% obsessed with this series and the characters. Queen of the Crimson Throne was an EASY 5 stars for me.

This is romantasy gold in my opinion. The way I LOVE Luka and Lennox more than I can even tell you in this review is unreal.

I honestly don't want to give too much away - you need to just read it yourself, but let me leave you with this...

"I'd help heal her heard even if it meant breaking mine."

GO READ THIS SERIES and thank me later ♡

Yup, devoured book 2 in a day! I was eagerly anticipating this book’s release and it didn’t of disappoint!

The back and forth between Lennox and Luka is addictive. You know they crave each other but they’re both afraid to jump. With their arranged marriage on the horizon, they work together to get themselves out of it. But is that what they really want???

You get a few chapters of Luciana’s POV this book, which was interesting. I would actually love the next book to have other character POVs as well. With Luce’s chapters, you’re getting a glimpse of the obvious connection between her and Nico. I personally believe in and want to see Declan and Kara because there’s totally something there that we aren’t seeing.

Book 2 doesn’t end on a cliffhanger per se but ends setting up the next book really well. I’ll admit, going into the end of the book, I thought I had guessed who this mystery villain was going to be but I was pleasantly wrong, which is good! Doesn’t make things too predictable!

It’s another story of slow burn spice but well worth the payoff once you get there! I love the chemistry between Lennox and Luka and using his “vampire features” to advantage during spicy scenes 😜 Luka isn’t your typically morally grey man and it’s nice to see something a bit different. He’s got so many layers to him. Lennox is definitely a stubborn girl but also has so much depth to herself.

Book 3, please come soon!!!!

I was once again absolutely enamored by Lennox and Luka in this second installment in the Queen of Blood and Stardust series. We get more tension, searing passion, and banter for days with these two. Their relationship has expanded and grown so much in these first two books, I cannot wait to see what’s in store for them next!

The world building that Kaitlyn manages to accomplish by elegantly weaving it through the main plot line is unmatched. We delved deep into the history of vampires and the Blood Court, learned more about Astria’s story, and we found ourselves surrounded by so many new creatures in this book. Every page was filled with new information but in a way that felt so natural and perfectly timed.

If you haven’t picked up this series yet, you definitely should! It is absolutely delicious with exceptional spice and beautiful storytelling. This is for lovers of fae, vampires, witches, and all other sorts of creatures. You’ll find yourself turning the pages so quickly you can barely keep up with yourself.

Thank you so much to Kaitlyn and Legends Literary Management for access to the eARC!

“I would rip the stars from the sky for you if that’s what you wanted. Because I love you, Lennox.”

Wow. What a friggin journey. Book one was enemies to lovers back to enemies, and then we picked right up here in book two from enemies to friends? back to where they belong as lovers. Kaitlyn, you smashed it.

I absolutely loved being back in this magical world and being with Lennox and Luka again. They really are one of my favorite couples. The way he riles her up just to see that spark of life in her eye again, the Sweetheart, the pining and tension.. I loved every second of it.

I also really enjoyed the new POV from Luciana and getting to see her, her magic and more Nico 👀

But MA’AM - how dare you leave me hanging with that ending!? Imma need book three asap. Please and thank you.

Highly recommend this series if you’re looking for a fun, magical, adventurous, enemies to lovers romantasy!! Definitely making its way into my top fave reads!

Kaitlyn, another story of yours that was beautiful written, last year I was given the opportunity to read your first book and I got my hands on an arc of the second, both not failing to be so well written and the story something I will never stop talking about it, and recommending for people to read.
If you love romance and fantasy you will love this series.

The second book offers additional povs and a deeper dive in the Varin, the whole story had me gripping my hands on my chair as I was taken on a wild adventure that was created by the wonderful Kaitlyn Swanson, Book two really give you good insets that was well done and I won’t ever stop talking about this book, and the spice in this book. February 7th can’t come soon enough everyone needs their hands on this book.

I'm trying to be as spoiler free as possible. 👍🏻

This was a fun book! I loved the journey the characters go on, the character development was good, LOVED the graveling by Luka. I liked that we had more insight from a side character's pov. Loved the action scenes. The fight scenes were good. The world building had a nice touch. The ending had me for a tale spin 🥲.

What did pull me out sometimes was the dialog. It can be a bit unorganic.

Favorite Quote: "Your Prince asked you to bow to your Queen. Now bow." By Lennox

MVP Character: Nico! I just enjoyed his presents.

I'll keep a look out for book 3! Can't wait to see Lennox get her revenge. 😈

WHAT A FANTASTIC BOOK 2. I thoroughly enjoyed book 1 and this was just as good, if not BETTER. The love story in this is just UNMATCHED. Luka is basically the perfect specimen of man and he would DIE for Lennox… his ability to love her unconditionally when she’s broken and down right unhinged? Swoon. I crave it. I also would NOT be against Nico and Luciana getting together eventually, either. The angst there is ANGSTING. (Hehehe). But also, the action and fantasy of this novel is so unique and I can’t get enough. But now I’m on the long wait for Book 3… darn you, Ms. Swanson.

Lennox frustrated me in this book by being such a coward and resisting her love towards Luka. She was extremely unfair and hurt him so much in the process. Luka....*dreamy sigh* ...he had no right to be so perfect. He never stopped fighting for them.
"“I’ve told you countless times and I’ll tell you again. I will wait for you,

never be anyone else as long as you are still in this realm.”

I didn’t expect to be so unwell over this story? And to find out that it’s a trilogy at the end nearly broke me??

I slagged my way through Queen of Blood and Stardust - the plot was fine, it was the writing that irked me. But I needed to know what happened and so here we are and now I have a VERY different view of this series. It gripped me in a way I didn’t expect. Still feeling like it could use some more editing to really grip me, but I need the third book very soon.

The book was well written but I feel duped. I don't read series. The most I will do is duet. When sold this book was listed book 2 of 2. If I had know this was an indefinite series I would not have started. I get to the end and to be cotinued it was not until I came to good reads that is showed a book 3. All other bookseller show 2/2.

As good as the book was I will not be coming back for another installment it is just dragging it out too far. It clearly could have been summed up in book 2.

This entire series so far is phenomenal! I ate up book 1 so fast and then picked up book two and was NOT disappointed! This book continues Lennox and gang trying to find a way to stop the wedding. Their adventures of trying to do this take them to finding out even more things that put them at more risk, danger, and I couldn’t put it down! Kudos to Kaitlyn Swanson on yet again another book!!

Releases February 7, 2025!

I was lucky enough to get an ARC copy of this book and it was the perfect thing to get me out of my reading slump! I love this story and it gave me so much more than book 1. I think this story built upon book 1 and allowed us to fully dive into the story of Lennox and Luka. I loved learning more about the Blood Court and other characters' backstories. This book had a ton of adventure and I truly didn't know where the story was going. I do wish a certain slow-burn storyline wasn't as slow but it didn't last the whole book so I will take what I can get! I had a feeling there would be a cliffhanger at the end of this book (I see you, Kaitlyn) but I was shocked once I got to the end because I couldn't see that coming. Also, I'm so anxious about a certain witch and a certain promise, and can't wait to see where that comes back into play in book 3.

Without giving more away, I loved this book, the storyline was really entertaining, and I cannot wait for book 3!!
