When Jeston is thrown from his horse and suffers a head injury, it is not enough to stop the cattle drive. Crysiant is asked to nurse the boss back to health. She accepts the offer, demanding a salary. It is her ticket out of Red Willow.
The trail proves difficult with storms, dust, and cattle thieves. After months on the trail, they reach their destination. Life is better for Crysiant in Rattlesnake Ridge until the man from Red Willow arrives.
