Rate this book
In the quiet town of Alma, Jane Barrow balances her life as a single mother, a small business owner, and an amateur detective. Her seemingly serene existence is upended when her ex-husband, Evan, re-enters her life, bringing with him a wave of complications and unresolved tensions.

As Jane navigates the challenges of co-parenting their two children, Tyson and Libby, she becomes entangled in a series of mysterious events. A tall, bald man begins appearing unexpectedly, making the family uneasy and stirring memories of a past Evan seems connected to. At the same time, Jane's friend Mike Calloway, a state trooper, re-enters her life, providing both support and a potential romantic interest.

When the sister of one of Jane's friends, Ebony, disappears under suspicious circumstances, Jane’s instincts push her to investigate. The trail leads her to the shady underbelly of Luther’s Steakhouse, a local establishment rumored to be involved in illegal activities. Jane must unravel the connections between the bar's secretive dealings, her ex-husband’s suspicious behavior, and the safety of her loved ones.

"Polished Peril" is a gripping tale of resilience and courage, where the warmth of small-town life meets the chilling shadows of mystery and danger. Jane Barrow emerges as a relatable and tenacious heroine, proving that even amidst the chaos, one can find clarity and purpose. This thrilling novel explores themes of trust, family, and the pursuit of truth, making it a compelling read for fans of mystery and domestic drama.

Another good Cozy Mystery

I always look forward to your new book release. I put the dates on my calendar and can’t wait to enjoy the new read. I have read over 100 of your books. I like that there was a gay couple in this new book. I alway list the characters in you books. I put a star on who I think will be the guilty person. This new book was a cliff hanger to the end. I love my Kindle Bubble.

Another good cozy hit!!

The continuing saga of the life of Jane, her two children, her blossoming self assurance and dabbled love interests, and her ability to solve life mysteries thrust upon her. I love this Cozy mystery series. Helps me unwind after a hectic day. Not so long in length as to bore to tears, just right for a few hours letting my hair down and zoning out. Great author!!

polished Peril book 9

I somehow managed to find this book by accident. So I’ve not read 1-8 but now I feel like I should go back and read them all and every one of these books that are available after. I’m truly excited about this book and finding out the rest of the story as the saying goes. The characters are awesome and the story is intriguing. You have to turn the next page to find out what is going to happen. Very interesting and exciting. Totally recommend this book

This was the latest in her Clean Sweep series and finds Jane helping her friend investigate her missing sister. Jane has a knack for investigations and her doggedness leads her find what happened to Ebony. On the side, her ex-husband is still involved in something shady and Jane is determined to figure out that mystery as well

Started this series with book 1 and couldn’t stop reading. Characters became real people that encouraged me to continue enjoying their activities and developing relationships. Each stand-alone mystery was satisfyingly solved by the end of each book but the continuing relationship mysteries draw the reader on to the next.

Best one yet in the series

It's harder to keep people interested in a series of over 3 books. It's probably more difficult in a clean or cozy series.
Thank you for this series that tackles subjects that are pertinent but difficult with the ,ordinary subjects' searching for how to do the right thing with limited resources.

I love this series of cozy Mysteries! They are fun, short and sweet with a little bit of mystery and romance. Jane, the main character, is very likeable as well as all of the regular characters. Always look forward to reading the next one!
