All my reviews have the possibility of spoilers, be warned!

I would like to start this review by saying thank you to Nas Ben for an ARC of this book. However, I think you most definitely have given this to the wrong girl. This was not my type of book at all. And although this was one hundred pages I struggled massively to read this. I am not the type to just completely destroy a book in my reviews, I really do try to find some good moments to highlight them for other readers. But I genuinely from the bottom of my heart did not have one.

One issue I had with this book was the formatting. At first, I thought it was my Kindle that was messing up, but after looking at other reviews I don’t think it was just me. There were a lot of grammatical errors that made it hard to read, some speech didn’t have quotations, or there were random arrows instead of quotations. I’m not sure what was going on there. It made it difficult to read because this book just felt like a draft, rather than a final piece. The hardest thing of them all was the constant back and forth between characters and points of view. Sometimes it would switch to a third-person point of view and I had no idea what was going on, or sometimes it would be a random character that just wasn’t relevant. It was hard to keep up when it wasn’t distinctive from the point of view, it just caused a lot of confusion when reading. Even though this book was one hundred pages there were so many different characters' points of view. Like I cannot function with short books and loads of different plot lines.

The next thing I’m going to touch on is the overall plot line or at least what I think it is. I’m going to start off by saying I do not mean any disrespect towards this theme, community and or group of people. From the blurb, you almost think this book would be about overcoming trauma and flourishing into a new person. I felt really tricked because I somehow read a Therian book. I didn’t even know we had Therians in the UK I’ve never bloody seen one so how has this happened? It was so confusing it just came out of nowhere. I’m still so lost on the storyline of it. It doesn’t really make sense to me which could be why I completely lost interest in this book, I’m sure someone who is knowledgeable or part of this theme would enjoy this book more. But for me, I just found out very hard. I also think that the overall plotline has so many holes in it, there’s just too much going on for a properly detailed story. It is near enough impossible for me to get connected to characters when multiple things are happening at once. I genuinely don’t understand how we went from the feminist group to the Island, to me it felt poorly written.

The overall writing level is aimed at someone intellectual, there are a lot of big words and complex descriptions. In the beginning, I thought it was lovely because I thought it was Eleanor’s personality. But then I realised it was just the whole book. In my opinion, it was used to just cover up the lack of emotional connection which did work but obviously isn’t something I want out of a book.

Some of the descriptions in this book had my head in my hands. Especially when talking about women’s bodies. It simply felt cringe, I’ve never read a description like this and all I could feel was pure shock because I couldn’t fathom why it was included. I had to blink my way through it so my mind wouldn’t have to register these words. I really wish this wasn’t in the book because when we look at the settings description it’s lovely, so this really does just taint and ruin it for me.

The cropped shirt emphasizes her long legs, and delicate belly button, like a pearl in the middle of her abdomen, showcasing the under average boobs, and her appealing backside.

Pablo was playfully tapping on the girl’s rounded drums.

I would like to reiterate, that someone out there could enjoy this book, that someone is not me. I mean no disrespect to those involved in the Therian themes. I do appreciate the arc review, however this type of book isn’t for me.

Life is difficult

I was struggling to understand what the mental illness was. I would encourage anyone that's reading this book to stick with it it is worth it in the end to see the whole picture come together in a completed picture from the beginning to the very end.

Feeling misunderstood by others can be confusing and frustrating, leading to feelings of isolation and emotional turmoil.

And that's exactly what happens to Eleanor.
At a young age, Eleanor loses her childhood friend in a tragic accident and is blamed for it by almost everyone.

Some say the past has a long memory and this incident and its aftermath has cast a shadow over Eleanor’s life.

Should she stay under its spell and cling to bitter memories or the time has come to say goodbye to the past, forge a new self and shatter the chains holding her in a state of despair and loathing?

Thanks to the author, Nas Ben, for offering me a free copy in exchange for my honest review.

As a librarian manager, I've seen my share of books, but "Goodbye Eleanor" truly impressed me. The story is both realistic and deeply emotional, with twists that kept me engaged throughout. It touched me profoundly and deserves its Best Book of the Year nomination. Highly recommended!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is is a total page-turner with mystery, drama, and romance that’ll keep you glued to the book. Even though I’m usually not into spicy scenes, I gotta admit, those parts were surprisingly fun. If you’re looking for a book that’s got it all, give this one a go!

Goodbye Eleanor

I felt like it was a very romantic story following the life of an intelligent but introverted young woman as she relocates to London after losing a close dearest friend. Her new position brings her into the exciting world of private clubs, corporate high rollers, and billionaire investors. Then she meets Henry, and he can see into her soul. He promises to help her discover the real Eleanor that she has been hiding. But like Eleanor, Henry also has a secret.

But just when you think you have it all figured out, there's a new twist. You have to read it, there are so many. With an ending, you would never expect.

I was kindly sent a copy of this story by the author - and my goodness what a beautifully written piece.

A story of a young girl who is left traumatised by the death of a bestfriend. At first I was a little confused as to what was initially happening, questioning Eleanor's reality/imagination. But when I got to the end, the story came together perfectly, and it made for an emotional finish.

This book was incredibly gripping. I loved how it shifted from a realistic tone to mystery and then psychological depth. The ending, though, was quite painful. Overall, an amazing and unforgettable read.

Nas reached out to me here and mentioned his book, Goodbye Eleanor and I was super excited to read it! 🙂
Three stars seems a bit harsh, but allow me to explain:
I liked the story, but the writing threw me off a bit 🤨
I think maybe it’s a bit higher than my reading level (which is on me 😅)
I think this book is very deep and emotional, which I don’t think I fully understood. So, I don’t think it’s a bad book, I think it’s just me.
So, probably more like 3.5 stars (at least) for a different reader
I think I just wasn’t the right audience 🤷🏻‍♀️

what might have been

if only all of us had someone who could take the poorly woven fabrics of our life stories and refigure them into endings that are both happy and beautiful like Eleanor had!

The prose is sensational. The story is a bit different and difficult to understand in the beginning but really worth sticking with until the conclusion. Bordering on genius.

-- Book of awareness --

Reading books can be different for everyone. Some people read just for enjoyment, and there are plenty of them, while others look for deeper wisdom between the lines. This book fits into the latter category. If you're looking for a great story, I’d rate it 3.5, but if you’re into detailed analysis, it’s a 5.

I asked the author about the deeper meaning of the book, even though I had already figured it out. The answer was as I expected: it’s a wake-up call about the corruption in our Western society. It might sound grim, but I lived in Carolina, and I saw these things firsthand. I hope my point is clear: those who claim to support their kids need to act before it’s too late. Kids are just kids, so don’t let them get caught up in these ridiculous fantasies. If you really want to support them, help them and take responsibility before they get trapped by this unforgiving society.

I wish the book had a more scientific angle, but I understand the author’s concerns about personal freedoms. Well done, five stars.

i will start by saying that i didn’t get on well with the writing style of this book, i was sometimes left feeling confused and struggling to follow the story but i did enjoy this overall.

the story is interesting, the emotional depth of eleanor is so well portrayed, it’s a mix of psychological thriller, dark romance with some mystery to it. it was a beautiful and tragic and pulled at the heartstrings! the twists were great and were definitely worth the read!

Reading "Goodbye Eleanor" was quite a journey. On one hand, the way it explores the characters' emotions is deeply touching, and the psychological twists keep you on your toes. I really enjoyed the fresh take on the love story. On the other hand, the pacing occasionally dragged, making it hard to stay fully engaged. The unique writing style might not be everyone’s cup of tea. Despite its quirks, the emotional depth and intriguing twists make it a worthwhile read.

This was a quick and easy read.

I was definitely curious about what was going on in the story but I didn't really connect with Eleanor like I was hoping, the story however was interesting.

Story takes you in many directions

“Goodbye Eleanor” it’s an interesting story. At first you think it’s just a neck, what time you were in his fantasy and magic. I enjoyed the twist that were throughout the story. And the final note at the end was very heartwarming and it helps explain the entire story. Intriguing and a good read!

The message of the book was delivered, but the story itself confused me- caught me off guard.

And I thought this book would be an easy read 🥴 Definitely, Definitely the author is an English teacher. I feel like I need to write a book report after reading this. It's good but the genre is not for me anymore. After 45 percent of the book, I feel like I fell down on some rabbit hole. Oh sorry not hole. HoLeSssss and got lost. Lots of hidden meanings. To be honest, No issue with the book. It is beautiful. I was just confused until before the "epilogue". I'd recommend this to some specific people.

If you like deep meaningful books to talk about, this is for you!

**A Tale That Resonates**

I started reading this book a few days ago on a mate’s recommendation, and I must say, it feels like it’s speaking directly to me!

The start was a bit dull but still managed to grab my attention. The middle's full of secrets, and the ending—well, I’d rather call it endings.

Synopsis: It seems to require some expert critique.

The book didn't throw me off as much as the review did! I spent three days wavering between one star and five. Felt unfair to give this story just one star, despite its silliness. When you read a story that's not your usual cup of tea, and you finish it without putting it down, it means the author really hooked you. That’s why I gave it five stars. Even top authors sometimes can’t keep you gripped for half the story.

As for the story itself, I won’t comment! I’ll leave that to you lot, as I’m still trying to wrap my head around it, haha.

Honestly, I didn’t see that coming! If I had known, I might not have read it. But the author’s wordplay and the story’s suspense totally deserve five stars. Thanks for the clever twist, haha!

What… what??? What did I just read, I have no words for the twists and turns my soul just took with Eleanor’s journey. This story… this life, this journey was beautifully and tragically told from a very shockingly point of view. I completely fell in love with Eleanor and the woman she became. Which is why I give this book 5 stars. The only down fall for me is that the story is over. I want more, I need more. Many thanks to the author for sharing this masterpiece with me.
