One fake omega.
An omega-only academy.
A steely-eyed professor with secrets.

I’m a beta. Is disguising myself as an omega to attend an omega-only finishing school a good idea? No. Definitely not. But my sister is an omega, and not everyone has someone willing to break them out of their gilded cage the way I would for Everleigh.

My mission at Haven Academy pits me against three unexpected alpha foes, and I will not be the one backing down. There’s a grumpy math professor who suspects I don’t belong, a sexy fencing instructor with a cruel lash for a tongue, and a flirtatious gardener who wants to take me to Paris?

When nothing goes to plan, I’m left bruised, broken, and fighting for my life. Pack Madden, to my surprise, is determined to nurse me back to health. And when I’m back on my feet, none of them want to let me go. Hell, I’m resistant to leaving even knowing I don’t have a future with them.

Alphas only want omegas. Everyone knows that. Why would I ever believe three hot alphas would settle for a beta like me?

** DEFIANT BETA is book three in an interconnected Omegaverse series. It features a determined heroine and three possessive heroes looking to dote on their precious o̶m̶e̶g̶a̶ beta. HEA guaranteed. For readers 18+.

If Ember writes it I’ll read it. She’s become one of my autobuy authors and has yet to write a book I haven’t liked. I’ve been patiently waiting for Della’s story since she first appeared in book one, ready to trample her sister’s abusive alpha with a horse. She sees herself as an unremarkable beta, yet is the only one determined and brave enough to go undercover at the omega academy to try to free them. Things don’t go to plan however, especially when she meets three secretive alphas with their own agenda.

Sparks start flying but everyone knows alphas don’t fall for betas, and before they can further explore their connection, the unthinkable happens. It’ll take far more inner strength than Della thinks she has, along with three single-minded alphas to recover and move forward.

This was an emotional, character driven read that had everything you’d want in an omegaverse book, where true love prevails despite designations.

4.25⭐️/ 3.5 🌶️

I have been fully immersed in this series!! The storytelling keeps you hooked and I’ve loved all the main characters and slight overlap between stories.

Having a beta instead of an omega be the center of a pack usually isn’t my favorite but man did I love Della something fierce! She is a whole vibe and I loved seeing the guys fall in love with her trouble with a capital T spirit. There were definitely some heavy TW’s that threw a wrench in the story and gave me such a heavy hurt seeing the struggles.

But the continuing to advocate for omegas is going strong throughout the plot and the fact that these guys are fighting for their women fiercely and that Juniper’s (River’s sister who we met in this book) story is next has me so giddy! Ember, please keep this series coming!!

First off, I LOVE the fact that the author put recaps of the first two books in this series in the beginning of the book. It was EXTREMELY helpful! I've read so many omegaverse books and it would be easy to confuse certain details.

Anyhow...because Della knows what can happen to omegas (her sister...previous book...) she disguises herself as an omega and enrolls in an omega finishing school with the objective of convincing the students there to leave and go after their own wants and desires. She doesn't expect to find her own scent matches while there.

Della is awesome. She's slightly unhinged (but in the best way). The guys...there were times I wanted to smack one of them upside the head but for the most part, they were great! This isn't a "sweet" omegaverse - probably more on the gray side. I flew through it and I'm excited to see the next story!

This one was a miss in my opinion. And I loved book 1 and 2. I felt like I couldn’t really tell the difference between each alpha , they didn’t seem unique at all to me just very cookie cutter alpha. I also felt like it was lacking a lot of emotions for what the characters had been through. They talked about it but the emotions felt brushed over or only really mattered in the story sometimes. The ending just did not seem to match what happened at all or the characters, seemed rushed and just kind of strange? Out of character. Overall this one was just not it.

This irritated real bad

The plot and premise of the book was great. The FMC and her avoidance of reading the room and recognizing her and their feelings kept giving me whiplash. Even at the end of the book there was still a question about “us?”. I was ready to throw my kindle across the room. The book was great overall but the miscommunication throughout really frustrated me to no end! I’m still going to continue the series. The FMC in this book really grated my nerves. Meanwhile i soft dnf’d the 2nd one because resa was getting on my last nerve too lmfaoo.

Needs better warning

This novel is powerful in its depiction of trauma and working through it. Unfortunately while the author does have a content warning I don't believe it is sufficient. The story revolves around SA and the aftermath. While the SA is not described itself which I was glad for someone with their own trauma could be triggered by it. But if that's not something that you are worried about than Della's character arch is a strong one to read.

It was ok

But there was to much that was missing, in my opinion. Did she ever mention the formula that almost killed her? Weren't the security guys trying to find out what it was, and where it came from? And how and who found the alphas that hurt Della, would have liked to see more of the search, and discovery of them, the book was to long for it to be so lacking, 3 stars cause I liked Della she was funny, and kind of a baddy. And the Alphas were good guys.

Read it in one day!

This book was just right. Characters well thought out and kept me riveted in the story. The FMC had just the right amount of sass and vulnerability, while the alphas had the right amount of masculinity and aggression.

Beta 🩷🩷 I am here for it!!

I love a good Beta & Alpha romance. This is the only one I read in this series and I am so glad I wasn’t disappointed by her becoming an Omega. The Alpha’s loved her for who she was and that was amazing.

Love this Beta!

Strong female lead.
Healthy female friendships.
Good character growth with complex characters. Hurt-comfort vibes.

Della is hella likable. She's reckless, but brave, intelligent and compassionate.

This author has potential. I LOVE any Omega-verse book where the FMC is a beta and STAYS a beta.
