After Savannah’s mate turned out to be a traitor who tried to kill her family, she decided she did not want to love or feel anything anymore. So, when the Lycan King of the Northern Kingdom comes to her brother to demand her hand in marriage in return for his support, she decides to make the ultimate sacrifice and accept the proposal.

However, when she arrives in the North, she has the shock of her life finding out that the King did not count on her agreeing to become his wife. Moreover, to avoid marrying her, he invited twelve other brides to compete for the title of The Luna of The North.

Now just a contender in The Luna Trials, Savvy has to choose whether to take the insult and leave... or stay, making the North King regret the day he asked for her hand. She will have to become a rival of twelve gorgeous women who would stop at nothing to get the crown on their pretty heads. The North is a rough place, and some of the competitions are dangerous, to say the least. The northerners will only accept the Luna that is worthy.

Everything gets even more complicated when Savannah starts falling for a stranger, who is the only person nice to her in this foreign place. Her mate suddenly appears back in her life, and the enemies of both kingdoms start to act, endangering everyone and everything.

Kai and Savvy are a good couple.
The book is written well. And the villains are not one dimensional , their story continues in the next book.
And the two books taken together ( 2+3) = 4 stars for me .

The whole series is written well .
There are ambiguous , Grey Characters but they are held to account and the reasons for their complexity is acknowledged too but their crimes are not excused and neither are they put through any
prolonged punishments..
The resolutions are good enough ... it is a satisfactory read and all the HEAs in the series * all 4 books ) feels convincing .

It is the second book in a serie, The Moonrise Kingdom, just as her first book, The Perfect Luna, this one goes againt all odds. You can read this as a separate book, but you'll meet characters from book 1, so if you haven't allready, buy 2 books at the same time. More fun!

It has everything you want in a book. A strong female lead, good story line, perfect balance between love, friendship and action. Be amazed by a whole new lore. Meet new characters be prepared to love and hate them.

I can write another 1000 words. But 1 is a enough. WOW!

Another great work by an amazing auhtor, you won't be disappointed.

An excellent follow-up to The Perfect Luna

After the betrayal of her mate in the previous book, Savannah volunteers to be the bride of the Lycan King of the North. This will cement the alliance between her kingdom and the north. However, when she arrives, she finds out that she’s not going to be the bride . . . She will however, be a contestant in a Hunger Games type competition. The winner of which will be the Lycan King’s bride.

Kai, the King of the North, really doesn’t want to get married, but his hand is forced as he needs a luna. You know how these political alliances go. He has a chance encounter with Savannah in the garden and it was perfection. She thinks he’s the gardener and he thinks she is the princess’s maid. It was nice to see the beginning sparks of a relationship when they didn’t know about each other.

I loved the storyline. I loved the characters. The author even managed to make the evil antagonist sympathetic. Which surprised me. There were a few plot twists that you will not see coming. Things are set up nicely for the final book in this series. This is definitely an author to watch.

"The Luna Trials" is a captivating blend of fantasy and romance that keeps readers on the edge of their seats from start to finish. The story follows Savannah, a strong-willed heroine who, after being betrayed by her mate, decides to sacrifice her own happiness for the sake of her family. Her journey to the Northern Kingdom, where she becomes a contender in the Luna Trials, is filled with unexpected twists, intense rivalries, and dangerous challenges. The dynamic between Savannah and the enigmatic Lycan King is both tense and intriguing, adding layers of complexity to the plot. As Savannah navigates the treacherous political landscape and her own growing feelings for a mysterious stranger, the stakes continue to rise, making for a thrilling and emotionally charged read. The novel expertly balances action, romance, and intrigue, making it a must-read for fans of dark fantasy romance.

If you enjoyed "The Luna Trials," you'll definitely want to check out "I Am The Luna" on GoodNovel .This dark romance novel delves into the life of a Luna who must navigate a world of power struggles, betrayal, and forbidden love. The story is rich with emotional depth, complex characters, and a plot that will keep you hooked until the very end. Like "The Luna Trials," it explores themes of love, sacrifice, and the fight for power in a fantastical setting, making it a perfect follow-up read for fans of dark romance and Luna-centric stories.

Let me start by saying that I absolutely ADORE this book, along with the first book, The Perfect Luna. I highly recommend them if you're into this genre. I will however say, and this is quite IMPORTANT for some people, that these books are not edited. I'm actually not even certain they've been proofread. There are a lot of typos and grammatical errors. A lot. But if you can look past that, the books are amazing. Maybe not $25 per book on Amazon amazing, but still amazing nonetheless. I bought both books on there simply to support the author. Of course, that was before learning about just a fraction of the income she's made from her monthly subs. Again, I love these books. But they need an editor, and now that I know she can absolutely afford one, I have to wonder what the actual excuse is?

All in all, the story is 5 stars, but I had to deduct 2 for the bewildering refusal of using professional editors or proofreaders. Especially at the price points.

The Luna Trials by Marissa Gilbert is an absolutely captivating read. Savannah, the protagonist, is betrayed by her mate and must help her kingdom by negotiating a pact with the northern king, Kai. To earn his trust, she participates in a series of dangerous trials that test her strength and resilience.

Gilbert excels at building a world full of tension, complex relationships, and thrilling twists. Savannah’s journey is both heartbreaking and empowering as she navigates betrayal and battles for her people. The chemistry between Savannah and Kai is intense, making their evolving relationship one of the book’s highlights.

With sharp writing and a gripping plot, this book kept me hooked from start to finish. If you love shifter stories with strong heroines and high-stakes drama, this one is a must-read!

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be part of the supernatural world? If so then this book is a must! This story has a wonderful plot with so many twist and turns with characters you'll love and some you'll love to hate. You'll feel every emotion see every screen, every smell, taste, feel you name it, you'll experience it all from start to finish in this exciting book. Marissa Gilbert writing style is one of the best I've seen so far! I don't want to reveal any spoilers but I will say this is my favorite so far!!! You can't go wrong here! And if you want to know who some of the characters are and start at the very beginning then pick up a copy of The Perfect Luna by Marissa Gilbert as well!!!

Ok so I love these characters so fucking much

I liked this one more than the first, which was surprising, and I think the main characters mistaking each other's identities is what did it for me. Plus, you get all the extra side character action, it just came together pretty well, imo.

General nitpicking: girl, how many times can someone giggle because I feel like that's the only expression Savvy had. No laughs, no chuckles, no snorts, no nothing. Just giggles, all the time. (I'm aware the author did in fact use other expressions, but it's like SJM and the "watery bowels", like bro we get it, find a thesaurus for just a couple of these please)

This may as well be my most favourite book ever. It was full of twists and surprises I couldn’t predict which is always a bonus. This book was perfection from start to finish.
I loved Savvy back in the Perfect Luna but she has evolved into this beautiful and strong female lead with lots of wits and humour. I loved the whole concept of Trials and the story of the Gardener and the Little made me happy. In one particular chapter I was ready to break my window with my book but then I saw the bigger picture and all is good. I highly recommend this book.

The amazing series continues in book 2. Savvy is by far one of my favorite female leads ever. She is strong, smart and beautiful and knows how to use all three. There was so much romance and banter in this book, it's very hard to top it off. Marissa created a beautiful world with her own spin on Norse mythology which I am a big fan of. It was a special touch that the couple were not fated mates in a fated mates universe. They chose each other despite everything and it was so beautiful. I am super emotional each time I read this book. It always gets me. I'd give it 10 stars if I could

An absolutely fantastic read filled with plot twists, fantastic characters placed in a world of fantasy and wonder the likes of which you generally don't get all that often. Heart gripping and a tear jerker in certain scenes, this book has become one of my all time favourite reads! Marissa Gilbert's flair for emotions and dramatic sequencing of events are absolutely on point, and I look forward to reading her other works!

The Luna Trials is the second book in Marissa Gilbert's Moonrise Kingdom series and once again, we are following a strong female lead! We met Savannah Stormhold in Marissa's first book "The Perfect Luna" and now we follow her story. Savannah is set to marry the Northern Lycan King for a political agreement, but when she arrives in the North, she instead finds herself competing in the Luna Trials! There's trials, betrayals, and a...gardener? You'll have to read The Luna Trials and experience it for yourself! Marissa Gilbert's writing is captivating!

Amazing read and second book in the Moonrise Saga collection. Absolutely love Marissa Gilbert's books and her beautiful world she has created. Honestly this could be read as a stand alone, but highly suggest reading The Perfect Luna as well. If you love Supernatural romances filled with cliffhangers, drama, action, overall emotional roller-coasters look no further than this amazing story. You'll both love and hate ALL the characters at different points throughout. Take a leap and plunge into the world of Marissa Gilbert writings 💖

For as much as I loved the first book and all the characters in it, I think the second book with Savvy and Kai is my favorite in the series. I’m a sucker for a romantacy and this story doesn’t disappoint. The Moonrise Kingdom series is a must read for anyone who loves wolf shifters, epic romances, betrayals, and so many surprising twists. Each book focuses on one main romance while building on the characters for the next book. I started as a fan on Dreame and have followed Marissa ever since. I’m so excited this is finally a tangible book for me to collect and read over and over again.

I read this book on dreame and the minute it came out in print I bought it asap. I absolutely love this book and all the characters from it and from the book before. I wont give away the story but will just say it is well worth the read and the money for the book! I could not put this one down and it is a fantastic read. My emotions were all over the place: I screamed during certain scenes (my husband was wondering what was wrong with me) and cried in others…I cant wait to read-read this book over and over since I have the printed copy now!!!

The 2nd book I’ve read in the Moonrise Kingdom series, first reading them online and now the paperback. This is the first paranormal series that I’ve read and I really enjoyed the escapism.

Strong female lead, sizzling chemistry with the MMC and the most beautiful story of heartache, trust, friendship and love.

The author captivated me from the start, and with plenty of twists and turns in Savannah’s story, I remained enthralled throughout - I couldn’t put it down.

The Luna Trials is a must read!

I read this book five or six time by now and I can say that it’s one of my most favorite books ever. Kai and Savvy is the kind of couple that stay with you after you close the book. Their love story is everything, but the side characters in this book were also full of flavor. I cried over Brigit and Aspen storyline so much my husband was worried for me. Beautiful writing too. Five out of five stars.

I had the immense pleasure of discovering Marissa’s books on another platform before her publication of this book and I couldn’t put it down!! It’s got beautifully described and interconnected shifter worlds, interfering Gods, spice, and strong female leads. You won’t be disappointed with this book. (Don’t forget to read The Perfect Luna for more information on some of the characters encountered in this book.)

Fantastic!
I did not expect to enjoy this book so much as it isn’t my usual genre. Marissa Gilbert's writing was captivating. Just when you think you’ve figured out what’s going on then it strikes with full of twists and surprises I couldn’t even predict. I couldn’t put the book down. I can feel myself in another dimension like i was inside of this book and watching the scenes live. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes this kind of genre.

All the ups, downs, twists and turns this story takes definitely keeps you interested and makes for a great read. Multiple characters make their mark here and their side stories are just as interesting as the main couple. I love how the male lead saves his woman but also that she fights for their love. Definitely not just a damsel. What can I say about the villain I low key sympathize with him... a bit. Hope he gets redemption story ....maybe? 🤷‍♀️

Marissa does it again!!!! Another amazing book with twists and turns you would not expect. From the beginning she keeps you on your toes and gets you to keep reading. You will absolutely fall in love with Savvy and Kai as they grow throughout the story. As well, who doesn’t love a strong FML who is a total badass. Not your typical damsal princess that’s for sure. 100% highly recommend this book and all books of Marissa’s

This book had so many twists and turns in it to begin with. While reading this book I felt I was reading about multiple people and their own situations. It was very interesting how everyone had their own story to be told. I haven’t read the third book in this series. But l feel that you need to write a fourth book. I got to know what’s going to happen with Calista. What is her story about. Especially with Ferrir. Sounds like he’s missing someone.😉🤣😂

2nd Read:
PERFECTION! In my opinion, this author is one of the best in the Omegaverse world. This can be read as a stand-alone, but I highly recommend reading 'The Perfect Luna' first. It has a lot of backstory that is extremely helpful. Plus, it's one of my favorites for a reason!

The storyline for this book is unique, and the action is packed! Plus, you don't really see some of the twists coming, which, for me, is always nice. I like to be surprised. Another great read from Marissa!

I love this book set most definitely the 3rd book. The dragon god was a very evil guy to take someone mate away from them and Mark them. Then he used his mark to spy on her mate to see how he can defeat him was omg. If I could re read this book set over and over again I would. I would give it a 10 if I could.
