The Time Traveler Who Raised Herself

Rate this book
Vanessa clutches the faded photograph of her nine-year-old self, her jaw set with determination. She’s going back. Just beginning to grasp her bewildering ability to traverse time, she isn't aiming to undo the great tragedies of history. Instead, she’s drawn to a quieter, profoundly more personal to whisper a promise to the lonely little girl she once was, drifting from one foster family to another, never having a place to call home.

Armed with the hard-won wisdom of adulthood and the scars from her own past, Vanessa steps back into the 1980s. There, she takes on the most daunting and rewarding role of her life—becoming the adoptive parent to her younger self. Yet, navigating the streams of time brings more than just second chances; it attracts dangers too. Shadowy figures with unclear motives start to track her every move, and the further she delves into her past, the higher the stakes climb.

In this gripping coming-of-age saga, Vanessa discovers the joy of new friendships, weathers love’s ups and downs, and confronts the sting of betrayal, all while trying to find her place in a world that doesn’t quite understand her. "The Time Traveler Who Raised Herself" is more than a time travel story—it’s about the courage needed to keep the promises we make to ourselves.

The Time Traveler Who Raised Herself by Dana Berry is intense! This story has it all. Suspense, yes. Adventure, yes. Romance, yes. Time travel, yes. So many twists and turns kept me guessing. It was fun to follow along with young Vanessa as she grew up, twice. The characters were perfect and well-developed. I felt like I knew them well. Berry does an amazing job considering the story involves time travel and duplicate people. I was able to follow the storyline easily. If you're interested in an exciting adventure, I recommend The Time Traveler Who Raised Herself.

A unique twist on time travel

This book won’t let you go until it’s finished. The pace is fast, the plot not predictable. Great characters that let love guide them through some very tough times and decisions. Time travel, alternate realities. It’s got it all.
