A young man disappears… Police find his smashed car in a deep ravine two years later. Could he have survived?
Sue and Alan begin the SAJ Detective Agency’s first investigation with a missing person case that the police closed eight years ago. After viewing photos of the crash scene, Alan believes they have little chance of finding the young man alive, but Sue wants to try.
The case stymies both of them, despite the family’s cooperation and numerous interviews with the man’s friends. No one has seen or heard from Warren Clark in 10 years. Can Sue find the missing piece of the puzzle to solve this mystery?

So glad I discovered this writer! Each book has a good but cozy mystery contained in it but you just hope you can stretch the whole thing out so it doesn't end too soon. Feels so good to be a part of Sue's family for a little while. Of course all her discriptions of her home make you feel right there. I can picture the whole home and shop each time she writes another one. I always see her sweet dog Sophie playing in the yard or cuddling with Sue or her husband. So nice to have a good and loving husband in these stories too. Just read these beautiful books because you will love them too. Would be best if read in order to get the full character development
I thoroughly enjoyed this installment in the Aspen Notch Mystery series. Sue and Alan take on their first case for their newly opened SAJ Detective Agency and boy oh boy, it’s a doozy. It’s a wonderful intricate cold case mystery with huge ramifications in the present. I loved the introduction of Lydia into the everyday aspects of the story. I loved the familial interactions in this story - it feels like Sue and Alan are totally in sync with each other - which hasn’t always been the case. The interactions with the extended family are meaningful and show an ever growing depth. Definitely a great read!
I like the way Sue balances owning and working in her flower shop with her sleuthing. Alan, her husband, is beginning to trust her instincts. This cold case, in my opinion, ended up with a happy ending with all families involved learning something about themselves.
I am binge reading the series. Alan and Sue have started their own detective agency, while Sue continues her garden shop business, and Alan helps out occasionally with the police department. Each book has a mystery and continued development of the characters. I look forward to grabbing the next book.
Love this series. The detective agency idea really works as Sue & Alan's alternative approaches compliment each other to successfully solve the case. Great to have new characters introduced to Sue's friendship group & extended family.
Great continuation of this series. Believable characters with a storyline that keeps you guessing. Aspen Notch sounds like a place I'd love to visit. Can't wait to see what their next case will be.
Oh, how I love reading about Sue and Alan!the mystery is full of the unknown and the characters are so fun to get to know. I look forward to more adventures with their family and sleuthing!
I couldn’t put this book down! I needed to know what happened to Warren and was I ever surprised when I found out! Truly enjoyed reading this book by Kathleen McKee! I’ve already started reading her next book in the Aspen Notch series!
Reading Indefensible Secrets is like spending an evening with very good friends who always have exciting stories to share. All Kathleen McKee’s books weave together every day details about living and friendship and family with mysteries to be solved. The first case for Sue and Allen in their new detective agency is a complicated one. But piece by piece, like the jigsaw puzzle that Sean helps put together, they eventually bring to light the entire picture. A delightful read as always by Kathy Mc Kee.
Sue and Alan take on a new case for a person missing over 10 years. A trip to Colorado brings some conclusions, then She's son shows up with a surprise.
