Halloween Vibes is a standalone novella in the Eternal Rest Bed and Breakfast paranormal cozy mystery series, taking place three months after book seven, Quiet Nights.

This Halloween, ghosts are on the case in Oak Hill, Georgia. Emily Buchanan has always loved Halloween. It’s the perfect holiday for welcoming guests to Eternal Rest Bed and Breakfast, but this year, someone is carving up more than jack-o-lanterns.

When a body is found in the pumpkin patch on the town square, Emily learns the victim’s ghost is haunting the crime scene. With the help of her psychic best friend, Sage, Emily will communicate with the victim’s ghost to help catch the killer. Along the way, Emily must confront jealous ex-girlfriends and navigate a bitter family rift as she searches for clues.

And Emily really hopes the clues don’t point to one of her guests, who had a close tie to the victim.

As Oak Hill transforms from a quaint Southern town into a Halloween haven, Emily must rely on the ghosts of Eternal Rest to help her figure out the truth, all while keeping her guests happy and welcoming a new member of the family to her haunted house…

About the author

Beth Dolgner writes paranormal fiction and non-fiction. Her interest in things that go bump in the night really took off on a trip to Savannah, Georgia, so it's fitting that the Betty Boo, Ghost Hunter Series of paranormal romance novels takes place in that spooky city. Beth's young adult novels, the steampunk Manifest and the urban fantasy A Talent for Death, also have paranormal elements. Her non-fiction work includes Georgia Spirits and Specters and Everyday Voodoo.

Since Georgia is obviously on her mind, you might think Beth lives there. Well, she did, but these days she and her husband live in Berlin, Germany, with their three cats. Beth misses those mild Georgia winters and proper iced tea, but there's no reason her characters can't enjoy those things.

Beth also enjoys giving presentations on Victorian death and mourning traditions as well as Victorian Spiritualism. She has been a volunteer at an historic cemetery, a ghost tour guide and a paranormal investigator. Right now she's chronicling the best spooky spots around Europe.

'Tis the season for some spooky fun and, wouldn't you know it, a body has been discovered in the town square. Emily's connection to this? One of her current guests is an ex-girlfriend of the deceased. And both she and her husband are acting a little squirrely.

Emily being Emily, she does what she has to do to make sure her guests are safe. So she starts investigating. She mostly finds a string of women who have a reason for wanting the victim dead. Which is problematic for a murder investigation. I mean, the guy left more than one unhappy ex in his wake. And this is before we get to his sister.

Anywho. Emily sorts through clues. Both Trevor and Danny have her back along with all her other friends. It isn't long before she's figured out who did the deed and adopted a cat. As one does. *thumbs up*

the coziest halloween novella!

The only reason this is only a four star is because it was a novella and the story was over before you knew it. When this series ended I was disappointed, it was such an entertaining series, so it was great to get another chance to spend time with the characters again, if only it was longer. Even with the big gap between books I soon remembered the characters and why I enjoyed it. It does work as a standalone if this is you first time joining the series and it's a nice introduction into Emily's world and at such a fun and spooky time, just perfect for ghosts to help investigate murders. The mystery was easy to follow and nicely wrapped up, although I could guess who the killer was. So sit back and enjoy another spooky episode at the Eternal Rest Bed and Breakfast.
Emily loves Halloween and all the festivities that goes with it but when her friend Sage gets a feeling that there is ill intent about it puts her on edge. When she discovers the cemetery pumpkin patch display hacked to pieces she hopes that was what the warning was about. It's not until the morning when all her visitor's are safely tucked up in bed that she gets the grizzly news. There was a murder in town and her guests are suspects. Can Emily and her ghost friends find the killer before the trick or treating starts? Or will Halloween this year heq even more spooky knowing a killer is running around?

Emily Buchanan is the owner and proprietor of Eternal Rest B & B. She took over from her grandparents with her husband Scottt, who tragically died in a car accident. She is a young, attractive widow who loves her friends, family and ghosts; after all she lives in a haunted house; and right next
to the Hilltop Cemetery, part of the land she owns.She is also developing her medium skills, under the tutelage of her best friend Sage Clark, Oak Hill's own skilled psychic medium.

So Emily, who loves Halloween, is hosting a group who came to share a small town Halloween. iRebecca and her husband Wyatt are visiting Oak Hill, because it's Rebecca's home town. The couple, along with their friends, Sherri, Chase and Bear have come to Eternal Rest Bed and Breakfast to let out their inner child for Halloween. During dinner they run into someone from Rebecca's past. Disrupted dinner; old wounds, arguments between the couple ensues.

Emily Buchanan, owner of the Eternal Rest Bed and Breakfast and what fun having guests stay and celebrate Halloween in the small town of Oak Hill, Georgia. Her B&B is located next to a cemetery which holds some historical remains. Emily organized a pumpkin carving activity for her guests and the town has a fun celebration with a contest on the best scarecrows. When the caretaker of the cemetery shows Emily his display was hacked to pieces, and she finds one of her knives is missing, things get interesting. Then when she goes into town to set up her booth for the celebration with her friend Sage, she notices a really good scarecrow that just happens to be a murdered man, with who was not particularly liked. And since Sage can communicate with ghosts, he tries to tell Emily and Sage who did it This is a fast, short page turning read. With Emily and Sage looking into the murder, we find a lot of potential suspects including his ex-girlfriends and family members that are on the list. Can the girls figure it out in time to have a fun Halloween? I highly recommend this book and the entire series. I received an ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.

At a bed and breakfast that is next to a cemetery, after the guests finish carving pumpkins as part of the towns Halloween fun, a large, sharp knife disappears. Halloween morning the towns pumpkin patch has been hacked to pieces. In the melee, there is a dead man. Not a very nice man, disliked by many, but, not as much as his 2 past girlfriends. His present girlfriend is pointing fingers at the other women. She had had a fight with the victim the night before. The real question is, was the missing knife the murder weapon? Was it the couple staying at the inn, his girl friends or any of the towns people? This was an enjoyable quick read, I enjoyed it very much.

I was thrilled to hear that something new had come out in the Eternal Rest Bed and Breakfast series! It's a short read that takes you back to the wonderful characters that author Beth Dolgner has brought to life in the series.
Halloween is soon to be upon us. Who smashes pumpkins before Halloween? Could it have been the killer? This story had more than your usual number of ex's. Who then became the many suspects. And a few twists at the end to make it interesting.
I really hope we get more books in this series.

This is a great book, I somehow missed reading it when it was first out. It is a very short story, but it's a good one nonetheless as they all are. A haunted bed and breakfast, some dodgy guests, halloween and a murder to solve. Are her guests at fault? They certainly seem very suspicious. The ghosts are willing to lend a hand, but don't witness anything for sure. A knife is missing, but gets returned. A man is killed whose girlfriend and exes all have reason to be mad at him. Emily and her friends however make short work of the mystery and at the end of it, the man's cat comes to live at the B&B.
It's a sweet tale and very satisfying.

When you start out with the name Eternal Rest Bed and Breakfast you know that something is going to be rather strange. Emily runs the place; there's a resident ghost that leaves helpful written messages and a psychic medium.

It's time for Halloween, pumpkins and candy being on the minds of many.

Murder is on the mind of one, though, and Emily is missing a knife that could have been used in the murder. There's five suspects and its up to her and her friends to figure out which one (if any of them) were the actual murderer.

The characters are interesting and the story itself keeps the readers interest.

This author is fast becoming a favorite of mine since her books are so fun and well-written, and this novella is not an exception. It’s great to be back in this universe since it’s been around a year. I loved seeing all the characters again, and we also get a great mystery to go along with that. As Halloween is right around the corner, this is sure to get you in the mood. Fans of this author or Halloween stories will definitely enjoy this latest by the author. Highly recommend. This is as smooth a transition from The Nightmare, AZ series to the Eternal Rest B&B series as you could ask for! When Emily runs into town, she finds a body in the pumpkin patch. Then the ghost starts hunting her B&B. It's bad enough that the ghost was a class a jerk with quite a few ex-girlfriends, but it's even worse when Emily starts to believe that one of her guests could be the killer!
She's going to need a lot of help with this one. Good thing she has her resident ghosts to help her solve this mystery!!

Halloween Vibes is a novella that takes place after book #7 in the Eternal Rest Bed and Breakfast Paranormal Cozy Mysteries series by Beth Dolgner.

This was a fun story. It’s Halloween in Oak Hill and Emily has several guests. There is a murder and Emily, Sage, and Trevor reach out to the ghost. Can they interpret the clues to find the killer? I like the characters, both living and dead. There are several suspects for the not so nice victim. I enjoyed this and recommend it.

What a great addition to the series and just in time for Halloween! Get scare on while visiting The Eternal Rest B & B. There is never a dull moment and things definitely go bump, day, or night. I really do love this series. With dead bodies popping up, the mystery is always fun solving!

While it wasn't actually spooky, this short Halloween addition to the series was perfect for amping readers up for this spooktacular holiday. Heck, we just celebrated New Year's, but now I'm wishing it was Halloween!

I'm still waiting for a book in this series that shows Emily moving forward with Danny.

3.75 Being new to the series, the story was a bit too short for me, I felt like I was missing a few useful tidbits about the characters and the solution seemed abrupt but by the time I reached the end of the story I had been charmed by the characters and the setting. I plan on returning to it in the future. A great read for an All Hallow's Eve.

I did not realize this novella was part of a 7 book series. Without even reading the series, I really enjoyed this novella! It was a murder mystery based around Halloween, and it was a quick read that got to the point fast. I enjoyed it.
