The first part of this (Le cahier blue in French) was an okay if not entirely succesful attempt at creating a comic that didn't rely to heavily on the staple diet of most comics: either outrageous gags or exciting but totally unrealistic adventure stories. Instead, it tried to settle for something like realist dramedy with just a hint of melancholy philosophizing about fate and chance. It tried and it failed, but that's a far cry from this second attempt, which halfway veers off into crazy crime novel territory and turns out to be just ludicrous -- about as ludicrous as the Italian Giallo genre (excepting the horror), but not as fun and camp as that. Total failure as far as I can see. The art work is okay, sometimes looks a little stiff but maybe that's just an aesthetic choice; at least it has personality (unlike some of the comics of today I've seen).
Enjoyed the linework and color, but a bit underwhelmed a bit by the writing and storytelling. There were several times where I couldn't tell where I was in the scenes geographically, which took me out of the moment, and the ending seemed too much like a bad action movie where an evil villain lays out this huge plan--although, we hadn't seen much of the villain at this point, so there wasn't much of a vested interest in his plan.
