Set in the heart of Elizabethan, England this is a gripping tale of treachery, murder and superstition. Mary Dudley the main character in the book is a distant relation of Elizabeth favourite. Mary is expecting a quiet summer at her country estate Somersall Hall.

It turns out not to be very quiet at all. Lesley who is a renowned Tudor historian uses her knowledge to write a brilliant story on the above. You actually feel you have been transported back in time and are walking in the path of the Tudors. Such a gripping story and if you like this time period this is a definite book to go and read.

Really enjoyed this book. Different take on the Elizabethan period to the usual main players of the time. Enjoyed the information on medicine and folk beliefs of the time. Really enjoyable and well written, although there were some editing mistakes, e.g. start brackets but no end brackets.
