They murdered my brother and woke up a beast.

Losing my comrades in the military overseas was expected.

Coming home to a murdered little brother and a hometown ravaged by monsters that think they now own the place?

Not just no, but hell to the no. It’s about to get messy.

When I left Reno to join the SEALS, my younger brother took the reins to my MC, the Devil’s Luck.

He was supposed to wear the leather and fill the shoes until I got back. Not leave me alone in this life.

Now that I’m back, I have a bigger fight on my hands than I thought possible.

And not only that, but a beautiful girl is caught in the middle.

The type of woman that keeps a hard man like me up at night, pacing the floor with need.

I don’t deserve a woman like her. I’ve spilled too much blood in my life to be worthy of love.

Besides, I don’t have time for romance.

My town is under attack, and I’m going to get it back.

The war isn’t over.

It’s just beginning.

Grab a comfortable spot because once you start reading this book you won't be able to stop. It won't take you long to get caught up in the war between rival motorcycle gangs Devil's Luck and the Wolverines. Reno has gone downhill since the Wolverines have been taking over the town. Local businesses have been extorted and others forced to close. Grafitti and slums are everywhere. Jackson (Black Jack),the past President of the Devil's Luck is back in town and everyone hopes he can change things. He's just back from being away for five years as a Seal and he's one tough cookie. He's on the warpath since the Wolverines murdered his baby brother who was filling in for him. As with most MC romances there's no shortage of crime, fights, murder, kidnapping, etc. Oh and did I say sexy scenes. Samantha and Black Jack will definitely steam up your Kindle. A great story that was well written with strong, complicated characters. I read a complimentary advance copy via the author and voluntarily chose to write a review.

Not bad, not great!

How do I put my feelings about this book in a review and make sense.....? Well it had just enough storyline to keep me reading but just. It had ok characters and a decent plot but lacked that magic to hold me captivated. Some of the storylines direction or outcome didn't make sense in the book MC world imo! Jackson has all the qualities on paper to be a bad@$$ alpha but just doesn't pull it off completely. Sam, Sam, Sam.... So many tstl incidents! Look out a dumb door before opening it when you've been terrorized for 3 yrs by a psychotic murderer! Also Sam is supposedly loved by her employees and town but when an incident 🔥 occurs does anyone call for help, does anyone try to save her!?!? Nope!! Another example of this story just not being all it could have been! Cliffhangerish bc the story was not finished it just ends. Boom turn the page nothing! Another negative imo! Not sure I'll read book 2 even if I'd like to see the Wolverines and Catherine get what they deserve! 1.5 stars and that's being generous! ✌

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I am hoping it is it a stand alone but the start of a new series. This story follows Jackson and Samatha. Jackson is an ex navy seal who just recently left his unit. Upon his return, he found out his brother was murdered the week before. Samantha owns a bar in Reno. She lives for her bar. She had a very hard life but now puts everything into the one thing she has left, her bar. An MC member wants her and her bar and has threatened he won’t take no for an answer. Jackson heads to the local bar and once there’s feels like Samatha looks familiar to him and she feels the same. They find out that the man he wants revenge on is the same that is coming after her so they decide to work together.

Another great read by Ali Parker. She brings strong characters in Samantha and Jackson and weaves an intriguing and action packed story. She does a fantastic job building the story and had me glued to the pages with all the drama, suspense and revenge as well as the steamy passion and romance. She moves the story quickly and smoothly with vividly painted scenes and delivers an awesome story! Loved and recommend this book.

The first book in The Devil's Luck MC series, Black Jack is a well written, action-packed romance. The storyline was well done and the cast of characters were well-developed. There's off-the-charts chemistry, danger, revenge, drama, and plenty of emotions.

I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.

Irritating

The story was OK... what I found irritating was that the main character kept getting described as "strong" and badass, but all she did was wait for things to happen to her. If she's getting harassed for over 3yrs, why didn't she take measures to protect herself.. mace, pepper spray, taser or gun? Something! I couldn't help thinking she was kinda pathetic. Also, who the hell is willing to put their cat out a 2nd story window during a fire but wouldn't try to go out the window herself. Instead stays to burn...

Then there is Jack. He's supposed to be this military biker badass but doesn't have his gun on him during a fight... the gun is mentioned in a previous chapter. I found the whole book irritating. I don't think you can claim characters to be badass and resourceful but then have then waiting around for things to happen to them.

This is book one in The Devil's Luck MC Series and it is Samantha and Jackson's story and omg what an amazing start to a new series. Samantha owns the Well Bad in Reno that her father built and it was her home and her staff and customer's became her family but a new gang moved into the area a few years ago and Samantha is constantly being harassed and pressured to sell but there was no way that she would ever do that even though the threats were now getting dangerous and she needed some help. Jackson was a navy seal but he had just had his discharge papers and returning to Reno which is his home town and he couldn't wait to see his brother and sister and his family Dom The Devil's Luck MC that Jackson started years ago before he went into the military. Jackson has just received the worst news ever and that his brother William had been killed by a rival gang that had taken over a large part of there hometown and Jackson vowed that he would get revenge for his brother's death. The more time Jackson and Samantha spend together the stronger there feelings are for each other grow but danger is just around the corner and it is getting closer but will they all get out alive. Omg this book was absolutely amazing and it kept me on the edge of my seat with all the action and also wondering what else would happen and it was so addictive that I couldn't put it down and what a cliff hanger ending. Ali Parker is an amazing author and writer and I definitely recommend you read this book and you will not be disappointed as she certainly knows how to keep her reader's attention from the first page until the last one.

I Voluntarily Reviewed an Arc Copy of this Amazing Book.

“Black Jack” is the first book in ‘The Devil’s Luck MC’, a great new series by Ali Parker. It’s a story filled with action, emotion and vivid characters.

Jackson is a former Navy SEAL who returns home to find that his younger brother has recently been killed by Bates, the leader of another motorcycle club. Bates and his crew have been systematically taking over the town and tormenting the residents. Samantha owns and operates the popular local bar that she inherited from her father. She’s been pressured by Bates for several years already because he wants the bar and he wants her. No matter how many times she rebuffs him, he’s only getting more insistent and threatening. Jackson and Samantha barely knew each other before he left town years ago to join the Navy, but when they meet again now the chemistry between them is off the charts. Separately and together, and with the members of his MC, they’re going to go through the fires of hell right there in their own hometown as they seek justice for Jackson’s brother, and to rid everybody of the scourge that is Bates and that evil man’s crew.

This is a very engaging story with steadily rising tensions. I have to say I stayed up way too late reading, because I kept being anxious to find out what would happen next. The secondary characters are great and have me looking forward to the rest of the series. This book has a ‘happy for now’ and ‘hopeful’ ending that will undoubtedly continue in the next story. Personally, I’m looking forward to reading about Jackson’s younger sister and the vice-president of the MC!

(I read an advanced copy of this book and also ordered a copy.)

Jackson Black is back home after his five year stint as a SEAL for the US. He's weary and wondering why his younger brother, Will, hasn't come to pick him up as promised. When he sees Will's best friend come to collect him he knows that something is very wrong. But he didn't expect to hear that it was only him and their younger sister, Suzie, left. Meanwhile Samantha, Sam, At The Well pub is very worried as she and her business are being threatened. Reno is no longer the safe place it used to be. When Jack comes to her pub late that night Sam locks up and talks to him. And thus, begins the story of the rest of their lives... . Ali Parker is a fabulous author, who knows how to grab your attention and maintain it for the whole storyline with such complex characters as Jack who need a partner like Sam to make them whole and stronger than on their own. Tragedy brought them together but will the chemistry between them keep them alive and save others too? A real page turner with magnificent 3-dimensional characters who took a place in my heart. I certainly hope that Ali is going to continue with this community and so we find out what's happening with Suzie and Mason! I received a reader's copy of this book and voluntarily leave my honest opinion of it here. MOST DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED.

I received a free copy of the steamy novel Black Jack (The Devil's Luck MC #1): Samantha and by A. Parker/Ali Parker and this review was given freely.

This bittersweet story contains a vow of revenge, is full of action and drama, contains characters that are edgy and, has a fair amount of violence but not in a highly graphic way. Normally I don’t like this genre because I find it a little too hard core with vivid violence and aggressive bordering on abusive intimate scenes. This one wasn’t too bad. I would read the sequels as long the vividness/graphic quality stays the same.

Ali Parker captures the essence and dichotomy that is Jack Black who has a strong personality and at times reckless nature, is at times controlling, cruel and ruthless, but also tender and protective towards his sister and Samantha.

Disillusioned with his life as a Navy Seal, honorably discharged Jackson Black aka Black Jack returns to Reno only to find his plans to return to the comfortable but not always legal life of his family and The Devil’s Luck Motor Club changed when the Wolverines’ President, Walter Bates murders Jack’s brother William and uses Reno’s Well Bar’s owner Samantha Lye as a pawn in his plans to take over Reno.

18+ for violence and intimate scenes.

A Great Kick Off to Devils Luck Series ❤🔥🔥🔥❤

I'm in love!!!!! Jackson Black "Black Jack" comes home to Reno after leaving the SEALS to find out his younger brother has been murdered. Now Black Jack has the reins over the MC he started, Devils Luck, and there's going to be a war to get his town back and rid it of the monsters that killed his brother. Samantha is trying her hardest go keep the bar that's been in her family for two generations away from the MC and man that's been terrorizing Reno for the past three years. Bates not only wants the Well but Samantha too, and hope renews when Black Jack comes home. Offering help to get rid of Bates brings Sam and Jack together as a couple. What happens when Bates takes something or someone that belongs to Black Jack??? All Hell breaks loose and someone is going to pay!! What a kick off to another great series from Ali Parker!!! Great characters, his/her POV and enough stakes to set the place in fire!! I highly recommend this exciting, heart pounding book. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book and happily purchased a copy for my favorites collection. I'm sooooo looking forward to the next book in this series.

Jackson Black returns from a five year stint as a Navy seal fighting in the Middle East. Coming back home to his hometown of Reno is strange. But he comes back to find things have changed drastically. A new group has moved into his town and is trying to take over. They’ve terrorized locals and seized control of most everything! But the worst part is his brother was killed trying to defend their town. Looks like he’ll be taking up his old persona Black Jack, leader of the Devils Luck Motorcycle Club!
Samantha Lye owns a bar, Reno’s Well, in town. The guy who killed Black Jack’s brother has been after her for years to sell her bar! Now he wants her to just sign it over and herself with it! That’s not happening!
When these two strong forces come together the attraction is instantaneous and fierce!
This is the first book in the new Devils Luck MC by A. Parker and what a start!

I really enjoyed this book. As it is the start of a new series, I am looking forward to reading the rest of them.
I have a soft spot for the tough, misunderstood guy who everyone feels they need to keep away from, and where there is the one woman who just keeps away from them.

Jackson has had a tough do of it the last 5 years. He was a Navy Seal and he was coming home. But what faced him when he got home, was not going to make his life any easier.

But Samantha is there. She is the owner of a local restaurant that has been in her family for many years. Now that her parents are both going, this is all she has left and she will hold on to it with both hands.

But there is a group that has other thoughts. They are trying to take over all the small businesses in town and they want Sam's restaurant. But she will not go quietly.

You will not be disappointed in this book. Great insight to the characters and you are going to just love and hate them.

Book 1 of Devil’s Luck MC

Jackson Black has returned from 5 years in the military to find his brother was murdered by the new MC taking over the town.
He wants his revenge and to murder the man who killed his brother.
He goes to the local pub owned by Samantha to get drunk the first night home and they have smexy times where he tells her she belongs to him that first time, I found that kind of weird if I’m being honest.
They are a good couple and have some hot scenes but very little MC action, other than sitting around talking about what they want to do to Bates there isn’t really much MC stuff.
I have to admit the MC books I have read in the past detail heavily MC activities.
There are some good characters so far but I have to say the ending is so abrupt and no resolution to the problem.
I’m not sure I want to read every book in this series if Bates is still the bad guy they can’t get to in every book.

BLACK JACK (The Devil’s Luck MC Book #1) by A Parker & Ali Parker
I very much enjoy all the stories the Parkers come up with. Among my favorites have been the Lost Breed series. I LOVE this new series! The Devil’s Luck has a darker, grittier story line, very well developed characters even the secondary ones, there’s plenty of suspense, danger, intrigue, revenge and the leader of the rival MC club, Walter Bates is evil to the core. Jackson is a man who has come out of the military and found his brother while acting as the president has been murdered, so he is taking the presidency back in the Devil’s Luck club. Samantha is running The Well, a bar her father established before his death. These two have some crazy hot chemistry. Bates has decided to take over the Well. The story is set up to continue in the book #2, I am anxiously looking forward to it. This is a 5 star read.

I could not finish this book fast enough. I just needed to know how it was going to end. And I needed to know it NOW. Instead, the story just kept cranking up the tension and drama. Sam is dedicated to her family legacy, and she’s not going to let it go without a fight. Jackson has a different legacy, but he’s just as committed to it. One way or another, he will get justice for his brother. There is just something so unbelievably attractive about a bad boy who’s also a good man and once again Parker has designed an entire club made up of them. Now I’m more anxious than ever to find out what’s going to happen next for the Devil's Luck MC.

This was awesome, Ali!

I sincerely hope this is the beginning of a new series, Ali/A Parker!
I loved the characters, their honesty and out who they are, with no apologies, not truly harmful to their home. (Also meaning their town.)
These individuals care about where they live and what is happening. Their ready for change, and Samantha and Jackson's story, hopefully, is just the beginning!
It sucked me in immediately, and went full throttle straight to the end!
So much I could say, but ruining a great new novel for others is not my thing!
I can say, not typical MC novel, bit certainly not just another romance with a little MC thrown in...
A great story!
I loved every moment!

Great motorcycle club romance! I'm not usually a big MC fan but I really enjoyed this one. Jackson, aka Black Jack, has just returned from the military to find his brother William, the president of the Devil's Luck MC, has been murdered by the rival club, the Wolverines' leader Walter Bates. After drinking too much he lands in the local bar owned by Samantha, who has also been threatened by Bates. Before long they end up in bed and Jack states emphatically that she now belongs to him. Samantha bucks a little but not much. The story is not totally resolved in the end but has a happy-for-now ending. Good story with some open door love scenes and likeable characters. I'm looking forward to reading more of this series.

This is a story of Samantha who owns a bar in Reno. She has a hard life but this bar is her life. But she has a member of a MC that wants the bar and her and he’s not taking no fir an answer. Jackson is a Navy Seal and just returned from being in service for several years to find out his brother was murdered a week before he got home. He’s angry and wants answers. He goes to the bar and the two end up taking as they recognize each other. They find out that the man he wants revenge on is the same that is coming after her. This is an absolutely brilliant read that will have you hooked from the start.
A brilliant storyline that is full of drama, suspense and plenty of tension and revenge but also a love story in amongst it all.
Can Jackson get revenge for his brothers death and help the town of Reno get their town back.
Samantha is just trying to keep her business running and away from the hands of Bates who rules over the town.
I loved the chemistry between Jackson and Sam but when Bates comes between them will they come out alive.
I can't wait for the next book in this new series from Ali Parker.

This is a book in the Devil's Luck MC Series by this author, and can be read as a standalone. It is a steamy romance between Jackson and Samantha. These flawed souls and the unique plot make for an intriguing read. It is a wild ride with combustible attraction, frustrating moments, club dynamic, danger and violence, twists and turns. Overall, it has the perfect amount of everything - sexual tension and chemistry, action and drama, and engaging secondary characters. A page turner with a happy for now ending.

Good start to a new series!

Jackson and Samantha have a chemistry that was undeniable in this story. They are two strong characters that deal with whatever life throws at them head on.

Jackson returns to Reno from the military to find his brother was murdered and the town in a very poor state and all of this is at the hands of another man who wants to run the town.

Samantha runs her father's bar and has made it her own. The town bully however will do all that he can to get her business from her as he has with other the businesses.

Can Jackson and Samantha work together to get rid of this common menace? This story is fast paced and interesting!

Reasons I enjoyed this book:

Action-packed, Easy-to-read, Entertaining, Wonderful characters

Great first book

Great first book of a new series. If the rest of the series continues like this book, it will be excellent. This is a love story at heart. Jackson is a tough, bad ass Navy Seal. Samantha is a bar owner who has bad ass in her as well. There’s a psychopath that wants to unalive them both. I loved how the author tied up loose ends. Such as the cat. The attention to detail made the read enjoyable. I don’t like it when authors don’t handle those little details. But it’s a great story, and I love it. Samantha doesn’t just submit to Jackson. She’s got some fight in her. I really like this book.

This was an okay read—not terrible, but definitely not great. The underlying plot doesn’t really ‘end’ in this book, so it felt more like a setup for the next installment than a complete story. The cliffhanger vibe left me a bit unsatisfied.

I also struggled to connect with the characters. Their relationship seemed to appear out of nowhere: she liked him, but there wasn’t much development or “getting to know each other” time. The hero never really expressed that he loved her; by the end they were simply together, without any real emotional payoff. Nothing about their romance felt special or memorable.

Overall, an average read with potential, but it didn’t quite land for me.

This one is the first book in what I hope is going to be a new dark MC romance series based in Reno, Nevada. It's about Samantha, who owns a bar and Jackson, a local bad boy who became a Navy Seal who has just returned to their home town.

A shared enemy isn't the only thing they have in common but trying to protect what is important to them and the people they love isn't proving to be easy. This is more a romance than a pure MC novel which I think worked well. I look forward to seeing what comes next.
