Drowning Silence

Regina Brannon's unexpected return from prison—wheelchair-bound and seemingly helpless—flips her family's world upside down.

Struggling to protect her pregnant self and adopted niece, Kenzi suspects her mother's paralysis is a ruse. As eerie events unfold in their old mansion, the arrival of Ryker, a man claiming to be a long-lost Brannon, further complicates matters. Caught between her husband's suspicions and her brother's sympathy, Kenzi finds herself entangled in a web of family secrets and divided loyalties.

As the line between truth and deception blurs, Kenzi must unravel the mystery before it's too late. Is Regina truly helpless, or is she orchestrating a sinister plan that could shatter their fragile family forever?

I read this book in one day. It was definitely more exciting than the last one. However, again, I’m not a fan of how much “ghost” talk there is, which is why I removed a star. The first few books in the series mentioned ghosts, but it came off as a silly kid thing. Now, it seems to be one of the main focuses.

This was easier to read quickly vs the last one.

Stacy Claflin once again draws her readers into the intense saga of Brannon House. Unexplained events, Kenzi’s mother, and a man claiming to be Jack’s son enter the picture. Strange noises in the home have the family on edge - where are they coming from?

If you like psychological thrillers, then Drowning Silence Is a must read. You will find your head spinning with the twists and turns of this story. The characters are well developed and there is enough background to keep even readers new to this series feel up to date with the saga.

Thank you to the author for providing me with an advance copy of this book with no promise made of a positive review. However, she has once again delivered a story that kept me on the edge of my seat and quickly turning the pages. Please note that any opinion written here is strictly my own.

Filled with suspense😲

Drowning Silence continues an entertaining series that has so many twists, secrets and points of suspense that I can't avoid feeling another shoe is ready to drop at any moment. Here there's a creepy doll roaming around the Brannon House mansion; strange noises; secret passages leading to long-forgotten rooms; a matriarch who may or may not be paralyzed; an ever expanding list of horrors attributable to earlier Brannons; family strife; and a teenager single mindedly dedicated to getting her boyfriend back. Just some of the stuff that kept this novel edgy, fast paced, unpredictable and a fun read.

I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

I do love a good thriller and this one is sooooooo awesome! It grabs you from the get go as we rejoin Kensi and her family as the thrills and chills take us deep back into their world. The author grabs you as mumma Brannon from prison, is back allegedly paralysed and wheelchair bound!! Throw in a supposedly long lost family member, suspicious noises, more hidden entrances and things that go bump in the night and you will find yourself hooked, unable to stop reading and biting your nails down to the quick. It’s intense, it’s intriguing, and it’s got its secrets as well as twists and turns that will make you jump and has some fantastic characters. Gripping and exciting, I absolutely loved this 6th book!

Drowning Silence - a review by Rosemary Kenny.

Brannon House #6, by Stacy Claflin, is the most intense book I've read in a long time, as three generations of the hugely dysfunctional Brannon family and their spouses return to what must be one of the spookiest mansions outside The Shining's Overlook Hotel.
A variety of character-led, named chapters keeps things interesting, as further scary secrets are revealed at frequent intervals throughout. These definitely gripped my imagination and made Drowning Silence unputdownable.
Why not try it for yourself and enjoy the rest of the earlier Brannon House series novels to get a full reading experience!

I absolutely love the Brannon house series and I can't wait for the next book to be published as this one ended on a very suspenseful note.

However, I did notice something (nothing big, it is just the Maths teacher in me). In the previous book it was mentioned Regina was a woman in her 70s, meaning she had to be late 40s / early 50s when she gave birth to Kenzi, and that Ember is 15. In this book, Ember is 16, which means it is a year later, but Kenzi mentioned that Regina was pushing 90? How did she get 10 years older in 1 year's time and how did she give birth in her 60s? The Brannon house has way more mysteries than we thought...

Drowning Silence is book #6 in the Brannon House series by Stacy Claflin.

Just when you think things can’t get any crazier at the Brannon House, they do. Kenzi’s mother is released to their house, but is she really paralyzed? Everyone is at odds with each other over a variety of issues. This book had me holding my breath time after time. There were so many unexpected discoveries that I had no idea where the story was going, but I enjoyed it! I can’t wait for the next book!

I received a free review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Another eerie story of Brannon house. Kenzi's mom is now in the house as she is paralyzed and requires full time care. Kenzi is suspicious wondering if her mom is really immobilized. More strange things are happening, a new room is found with bones, and the squatter turns out to be more than a squatter. Graham is the protective father and Ember is maturing. Kenzie's pregnancy is giving her strange reactions. Sometimes spooky, with logical explanations and a family that supports one another.

Great Atmospheric Fiction!

I love the writing style of the series so much! The Brannon Home and curses almost become characters themselves. The addition of new characters and the ending of the book were not as expected at all! Really great plot build that has you eagerly anticipating the next book in the series. This book really makes you feel like you are part of the family and you become paranoid right along with them. After all, it is the Brannon House. Anything is possible.

Another instalment in the story of creepy Brannon House. More secrets are unearthed as well as another secret room discovered. Regina is back at the house with her family and has most of the house on edge. Lets not forget the super creepy doll that mysteriously moves around the house. We end with a surprise that gets caught on the security cameras, and I'm sure the next instalment will bring more to light.

Kinsi's mom is coming back home again.
This time from prison as she is now paralyzed.
Kenzi finds yet, another hidden door in the mansion leading to another gruesome finding.

Regretfully, this one reads like a series ending story.
I hope it's not though as this is my favorite series by this author.

There are developed characters, and a solid plot line.
Pretty much all loose ends are wrapped up in this one, and I'm sad to say goodbye to these characters.

I love the Brannon House series. Each one builds on the previous, and the events happening between the mansion's numerous walls get creepier all the time.

In this book, Kenzi's mother returns to the house, which ramps up the tension within the family.

When a camera reveals a twist, you wonder what will happen in the next book. I love the author's style; her characters are well-developed and likable. At least the good guys are.

I can't wait for book 7!

Brannon House Holds Secrets . . .

Odd things seem to be happening at the Brannon House… and that in itself isn’t so odd. There are plenty of twists and turns to keep the reader off-balance and add to the perfect creep chills the author is building up. A good blend of characters, the kind you like and the kind you certainly want to avoid, will keep the reader’s attention throughout the storyline. Will Kenzi figure it all out in time? Or is this… the End?

Wow what a great read. Kenzie and Graham are a cool couple. I love Embrt and her drive and ambition.

The family has grown and are moving in the right direction. The Brannon men seem to be a bit evil in my opinion.

This was a great read. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

I received this book as an ARC and this is my honest review.

Wow! This book was well worth the wait. Intense angst as a pregnant protagonist has to deal with a mother released from prison and moving back in, pregnancy, an unexpected family member popping up, and things going bump in the night. Completely engrossing and twisty.

I received an arc of this book and voluntarily provided a review.

So good! With even more mystery, and twists and turns, this series just keeps getting better. Im really enjoying the spookiness. Ghosts and (possible) possessions. A creepy doll seemingly moving on it's own. I'm all for it. I'm finding it intriguing learning more about the Brannon history. How many more secrets can one family hide? I can't wait to find out.

Titillating

A real page turner! There is so much happening in Brannon House with all of the characters with so many surprises it’s impossible to stop reading. Twists and turns galore and some with sketchy answers. Anxiously awaiting the next book in this series.

A well written, full of suspense story that will keep you intrigued until the very end. Kenzi suspects that her Mother is pretending about certain things and keeping secrets since her release from prison. Will she discover the truth in time. Well written and gripping, won’t disappoint.

We're Back at the Brannon House and how people still manage to live there after all that went down is a mystery to me. This time Kenzie's mother who should have spent the rest of her life in prison returns to the House because she's completely paralyzed. Kenzie thinks Regina tricks them all and wants to find out what she's planning. New developments on the property as well as a new family member make the story even more fascinating. I couldn't stop reading and this doll almost gave me nightmares. I didn't expect the ending and while one thing was disappointing, the camera captured something that will be a good start for the next book.

I started reading right when the advanced copy arrived yesterday and finished it already. Why do these stories always end too fast?

So much going on in this book. Secrets are still coming out. I would love to live in a house with hidden passageways but not this one. They always lead to something disturbing. The suspense was way up in this book and kept me on the edge of my seat. Great ending but I hope this isn't really the end of this series.
