Carpenter's Christmas Bride is a clean story about Kenzie an injured ballerina who came back home to recover, and Aidan a single father who came back home to have some help taking care of his son. With the Christmas approaching will they find some joy?
Aidan is mostly a grumpy and brusque hero, but he seems like a new man when he is with his son. I can understand he wants to protect himself and Walt from being disappointed again, but at times it's too much and it took me a while to like him. I've loved Kenzie instead, she is sweet, pretty and she doesn't let the adversity keep her down.
Kenzie and Aidan's relationship doesn't start with a spark, more with a bump, but it was a pleasure to follow their journey, and to see how they become essential for each other. They are opposite, but little by little Kenzie manages to break through Aidan's heart.
Clara Pines has a talent to write these lovely stories that warm your heart and make you smile.
This was an engaging fast read, I recommend it.
