Had me interested in the beginning but along the way I lost it. Felt a bit repetitive sometimes.

Ma’am, the prologue of this read took me out, and I wasn’t sure if I could read more. However, my curiosity won as I needed to know how this all turned out. Reaper, born and raised in the warzone of Congo, was traumatized and heartbroken at a young age, with the things he witnessed. Brought to America to work as a slave, he knew his life would never be the same.

Fast forward many years, we see Reaper as a strong killing machine, and it made me wonder how he became way. Was it the rage and anger of revenge that was driving him, or was he taught this and knew no other way. Reaper was cold, mean, unfeeling, with no people skills, as all he knew was to cause destruction. Until he laid eyes on Lotus.

Lotus had her own dark past to deal with, and her current situation was rocky as well. However, she never allows anyone to see her trauma. All people saw was her beauty, and the light that she brought into every room she entered. When she met Reaper the huge, intimidating man with the scowl, she was intrigued by him. Although he tried to push her away, she persisted, leaving a lasting impression on him, and a bigger imprint on her own heart.

Who is this woman that is making me come out of my comfort zone, Reaper thought. He kept her at arm’s length, as he had to keep his focus on revenge nothing else. When they both learn of their connection to each other, the kid gloves are off, and Reaper becomes everything his name implies. While he searched for answers, and truths, bodies drop, snakes are revealed, loyalties are tested, and the icing around Reaper’s heart begins to melt. As much as he tried to fight feeling anything for Lotus and Ninah, it was inevitable that he would begin to care for them. Lotus was a sweetheart who just wanted to love this unhinged man, but she wasn’t a pushover either. I loved finding out the connection between Reaper and Havoc.

This read took me through so many emotions, that I had a tension headache and tight muscles when I finished reading. Between the frowns, narrowing of eyes, hunching of shoulders, and the few laughs in between, I am spent. Great story! 👍🏾👍🏾

What do you get when you mix foreign dictators, the bratva and the black mafia? This masterpiece right here.
The prologue thrusted me into this captivating story. (The prologue was hard to get through but I’m glad I held on)
I’m truly blown away by Raza and Lotus’s story. I will warn that it is graphic, violent and will have you laughing, crying and everything in between.

Raza is an introverted brute who is known to be intimidating, ruthless and a cut throat killer.

Lotus is a single mom with a traumatic past and an abusive husband.

I love reads like this, gritty, action packed, plot twists, comedic relief and SPICE. I’m looking forward to the rest of the series. NOW THIS IS HOW YOU WRITE 🗣️

This author introduced us to Raza Kasongo raw with no Vaseline. That intro almost took me out! Like, "This may be too heavy a book for me." The atrocities that he survived; family murdered, sold into servitude. This could have all broken him, but it forged the man he became.

The man came to be known as Grim (The God of Death) his side hustle was assassin, but he was on a quest to avenge his family and lost innocence. He suffered no fools until...

Lotus

Her background was no bed of roses either. They share a common denominator.

She brought light and balance to all his anguish and darkness. He was willing to risk life and limbs to ensure she and hers are ok.

How is this Erotica you ask? Well, I think it lends more to romantic with streamy scenes. Lotus is inexplicably drawn to the broody Grim. He tries to fight his feelings but can't shake her.

Yall see the cover?? I can see him as Raza "Grim" gulp! The read is action-packed! Russian mobsters, turf wars, betrayal, and subterfuge... it's in there!

Genre: Urban Erotica
Troupe: Enemies to Lovers
Spice Level:🌶🌶🌶
Possible Triggers: Rape, child abuse, murder, physical abuse, racial slurs
Tissues: 😢😢

I said what I said and as always: don't take my word for it. Read the book, form your own opinions, and support your authors!

That was quite the ride! Such heartbreaking beginnings led to a world of pain and anger so deep that it was hard to break free from. The connections built throughout this story were so well put together. Each moment that led to the next, though frustrating, because we wanted Sergey gone immediately! Captivated me fully, and I enjoyed every second of it. Highly recommend.

Good Story With Questionable Character Choices

I really liked the premise of this book. The captive turned lover trope is a classic and this rendition of it was well-done. Reaper was good and crazy and so was Lotus, because she was seriously attracted to him, despite her and her daughter being held captive by this crazy, emotionally unstable man.

I would rate this book higher at a 4.5, but some of the decisions by the characters left me scratching my head, the most glaring being: Reaper had clear confirmation that Chop was working with Sergey, but he belabored killing him, and it nearly cost him and Lotus their life. He was reminiscing about friendship and going out with him, but his bosses told him to make the move and he refused, which is insane. They should have killed him for that. Also, Lotus overheard Chop talking about betraying them on the phone, so why didn’t she tell Reaper? That would have given him the motivation to go after this man. Why would she keep that to herself?

Speaking of not making sense, how did Lotus and Reaper both get shot and were out of the hospital like a week later? Not only were they out of the hospital a week later, but Reaper was back on missions.

The sex scenes though were a 10/10. Even Reaper had dom energy seeping out of his pores, I didn’t see that epilogue coming. Overall, I enjoyed the story. A solid 4 stars from me.

Pretty good

I definitely liked this. I would definitely suggest that a content warning should be added. Some content can be triggering for some. Other than that, great story.

This would’ve top tier if it wasn’t so repetitive. The words “palpable” and “intoxicating” were used an ungodly amount of times in this book. Other than that I enjoyed the story, and all the twists.

Reaper and Lotus, When Your Past Becomes Your Peace

This book left me emotionally spent!!!…From the beginning to the end, this was an emotional roller coaster!!!…You can feel the pain deep in Reaper’s soul and it was as if you were reliving those memories with him!!!…To watch someone take your whole family, you will never know what that does to someone mentally, emotionally and physically!!!…I was happy that 13 yo Reaper had the strength to defend his mother’s honor!!!…
Lil Miss Ninah beautiful spirit touched something in Me Angry Man and you can feel his defenses lowering!!!…
Lotus had a story within, and just like a woman, she smiled through her pain and her child brought about strength she had no clue lived inside of her!!!…Her father had a date with Karma and I waited for it!!!…When she finally opened up about what her father did to her and then passed her off to his brother broke my heart!!!…I had to put the book down for a minute!!!…
Sergey and Chop was one and the same and their desire to rule, left them with Karma standing on their neck!!!…They cared about nothing but themselves, despite the loyalty given from the ppl that surrounded them!!!…
I was glad that Lotus was able to get through to Reaper for him to let Shane go with her child because Chop left her out here on her own and in the dark!!!…
I can’t wait to see what awaits Havoc now that it’s confirmed that he has a big brother out here!!!…I hope that settles Reaper even more because he needs peace for his tormented soul!!!…

he actually has a heart

Reaper was a cold piece of work. He had so much trauma that it buried his heart deep. His family was torn from him at a young age and endured things no one should. It turned him into a killer - a killer for hire.
He and Lotus met and an undeniable connection was made. He couldn’t fight the attraction and neither could she. She too had experienced trauma at a young age and it shaped her too. Where Reaper was a hard, cold, and callused killer, Lotus was still loving, beautiful, and caring. She was a mother to a beautiful little girl and tired of her controlling husband. She wanted a divorce and was over being with him.
There was twists and turns, betrayal, lies, deception, loyalty, attraction, plotting, revenge, death and love all within this book. Reaper found his heart inside and outside of his chest and gained what was once lost to him - love and family.

Great read!

2.5/5 This story has so much potential but I feel like the flow of the book was a bit rushed. Some of the storyline and dialogue was not adding up. For instance there was a part in the book where Reaper left the Cabin going to find Ninah after they had been nearly killed but then in the next paragraph he’s in Miami tearing through a club trying to figure out where she’s being kept. He ends up at one of the mansions but after searching the mansion he’s driving back through Vegas to grab his ex best friend’s wife. It left me confused a bit because when did they get to Miami and how did they get back to Vegas all in what seemed to be written in like a matter of only 3-4 hours? I’m not too sure if it’s just my version because I don’t utilize Kindle to get any updated versions and rather get the physical copies but I just wished it was edited a bit better because I really wanted to enjoy this and not feel like I had to finish it because I had already bought it.

Loved it!!!

OMG this book was everything. I love the storyline it flowed so well. The back story of when Reaper and Lotus first met as kids and baby girl Ninah reminding them of that encounter was just everything all due to a teddy bear they all loved.
Lotus knew she was a hot mess and knew how to use her pocket to get what she wanted from Reaper.
Reaper was protector of his girls but a beast outside of their home. Reaper being annoyed by a young hitta that act and mimic him in so many was only to find out it's his long lost brother ❤️ thanks to Lotus talikg then in to a DNA lol.
The betrayal that they both had to endure was sad but satisfaction of revenge was sweet.
Kendra your freaky A$$ did it again Boo.
NOW I NEED HAVOC STORY!!😘

It's A Hard Place To Be In

Kendra Canty, my lord. I'm a fan of your pen. Anything you write about gets me. This was so very dark but beautiful at the same time. I can only imagine the pain Reaper endured in his life. For him to even be able to break down his walls was beautiful to me .
Lotus had so much love inside of her. She just wanted to be loved and baby, did she get it!
This read was full of self findings, of hate that turned into love, of broken trust building new relationships, of betrayal and redemption.
I saw relationships growing in a positive manner, I saw true love from children. Everyone should read Reaper. Great job!!🤗🤗🤗🤗

Good

Good book, good plot. The only thing was. It started to drag and too much repetition. Like we didn’t need Lotus and Reaper to profess their love for each other over and over. The book should not have been this long to get to the point. That was the majority of the book. They professed their love a lot! But the enemies kept me pushing because I needed to see them go. Even the epilogue could’ve ended at him proposing. But it was dragged again with them professing their love. Like okkaaayyy we got it! Lol

What A Time

4.5 ⭐️ This story was beautiful. Reaper and Lotus both had a traumatic childhood and as adults dealt with the lasting effects in different ways. Lotus became Reaper’s light; it was warming to see his growth and acceptance that his past doesn’t define him, he is still deserving of love, a family, and to not allow revenge to consume him. Lotus was loyal despite her circumstances; they were a match destined to be, even before they crossed paths many moons later from their childhood in Congo. My first book by this author and she did not disappoint!

Reaper

As tough as Reaper was and it came from his childhood and everything that happened to him…He really had a soft side and it took Lotus and Lil Ninah to break his tough wall down. He and Lotus didn’t get off to a great start but throughout the book changes (good) starts to happen. Never read from this author but I will now! Loved how long the book was! Everything flowed, no rushing and the story was told from beginning to end! Loved it!

A Reaper's Heart: Let me say I love a dark romance and babe. This book gave forbidden, and wtf is going on here. Reaper is definitely unhinged, but Lotus must be too cause she likes it. Maybe? Angry man has all the rights to be the way he is. Love can soften the heart. Yes, read this book

Absolutely loved it

This story was dark yet so beautiful Reaper and Lotus but had a tumultuous past that unbeknownst to them bonded them in a unique way. There were were some unexpected betrayals and also a reunion that was so touching to witness. I definitely enjoyed this book and I hope we get a story on Havoc I feel he has some things to say.

Soulmates

Past intertwined with future is a god wink of two broken souls coming together to make one. Family isn’t always blood however who we can trust to honest and loyal sometimes those we trust can carry envy that can be used for our weakness. We have to keep our spirits open to who we allow to share our space and secrets with.

Kidnapped 🤭

Reaper gives all the feels of forced proximity and kidnapping. The interconnectedness of Lotus and Reapers past and present makes for a great story line. Of course you have a good girl bad boy type of story and don’t we all love that. This story will make you laugh and mad but in the end is worth the read.

Reaper and Lotus

This was a great story. It was very emotional the way the author described what he, Lotus and Havoc went through in the Congo. Chop didn't care about nobody but himself not even his wife and newborn son. I hope Havoc's story is next. I can't wait. And I hope Pharaoh gets a book too because he needs to leave the library alone unless he's taking his significant other there like Reaper did.

I didn’t want this story to end. I need to know how Lotus, Reaper and babygirl doing. Also I need more on Pharaoh, Havoc and what about Shane. Part 2 me PLEASE. A must read.
