Enjoyable and Interesting Unofficial Guide for Dungeon Masters
As a long-time D&D gamer I picked this book up because I was curious about the Unofficial Dungeon Masters Rulebook. It is a light version of the original Dungeon Master’s Rulebook. It is a general guide using the original creators of Dungeons and Dragons as reference. It is a good general overview of the game, playing system and the story behind the game. I like the character design elements mentioned here. The guide is just that, a guide. If you want to know how to set up a D&D game, generally, then this is an okay resource. This is not a deep dive into D&D but it is a helpful look at how Dungeon Masters make adventures. Again, good overview and basic knowledge of the game but in no way the definitive guide to what it takes to be a Dungeon Master for Dungeons & Dragons.
This book is a fantastic guide for those new to the world of Dungeons and Dragons.
As someone who had never played the game before, I found this book to be incredibly helpful in understanding the rules and mechanics of the game. The easy-to-follow format made it simple to refer back to whenever I had questions. I particularly enjoyed the detailed descriptions of the characters, which helped me to better understand their strengths and weaknesses.
While more experienced players may find this book to be too basic, I believe it is the perfect resource for beginners like myself.
Overall, I highly recommend this book to anyone looking to dive into the world of Dungeons and Dragons.
…There are no images like the original D&D manuals; I bought them to see the detailed hand-drawn art. This is a good resource. I started playing D&D in the 1980s. It was a fun and engaging way to use your imagination, but this book reads like a textbook. However: The details are very complete and easy to understand. I did not find it engaging as a D&D manual. I would love to see some art in this book like the vintage books had. Thanks for the read :)
This is a handy guide to have when navigating through the magical and challenging worlds of a DnD game. This guide is great for beginners and experts alike, and gives helpful tips to make the game even more enjoyable.
I knew about Dungeons and dragons since 1981. I had a friend who wanted me to play the game, but I wasn't thrilled. But, reading about how the game is played. Dugeons and dragons is hard. I did learn a lot. Great book though.
