I am absolutely obsessed! I could not put this down and devoured this book in one day!! This was such a fun and sexy take on the war between Heaven and Hell. It was exciting and violent, but also funny, sweet, and sexy as hell! 🥵🥵 Emily is such a badass. Jaxon is my newest book boyfriend and he quickly jumped toward the very top of that list (double 🍆🍆 for the win 😉). And if someone doesn't figure out to get me my very own Ghost I'm going to fall into a deep depression!

When I got the email about this book, saw the tropes, blurb, and cover I just knew I had to sign up and read this one. This was perfect to kick off for my spooky reads. The vibes were immaculate and I truly loved all the biblical things and seeing it with the roles flipped. I loved Supernatural with their plot about hell and this was just like that. I love that they curse the Goddess above. I just love everything. HE HAS TWO WHAT’S NOW??? That took me a second because I was trying to picture it.

My brother and I knew without saying that things had shifted before then, back when God had banished our mother from the garden of Eden.

“Wrath. If you care about my daughters the way I think you do, then you'll agree when I say that they will not be pawns in our war. Keep them from Heaven’s reach and watch over them both. I will fight Hell myself if I find out that your father has plans to use either of them.”
“Kill, Get Charlie and Adrian to safety and get them help. We’ll be right behind you. Uriel, this changes nothing.”

We were half Angel, half Witch, twin sisters, with some big mysterious destiny, and in Hell while on the run from Heaven - with no clue what we were meant for.

“Maritus’, but yes. I couldn't say anything. Goddess, I wanted to tell you, but I knew after you met Jaxon that he was yours. Can I tell you a secret though?”

“I knew it,” Jaxon shouted from the other side of the door, right before a loud smash ricocheted from the hall.
“Oh, shit. I better check on him.”

“Maritus, huh?”

“I’ve been yours since the moment I saw you. be mine. Stay here with me and rule Voluptas by my side. War or no war, I want you beside me always.
Charlie’s words came back to me as my breath stuttered in my chest.
“Emily Morningstar,” she had said, and she was right, it did have a nice ring to it.

I really enjoyed this. This is the perfect book for spooky season! It was just such a fun quick easy read. It made me laugh & smile soo much.

This is my first time reading for Cassie and I am madly deeply in love with her story.
I knew this book was for me instantly when I saw the art for it. I was beyond excited when I received the ARC!
This is book one in a series and the next one won't be out until maybe next year.
First of all that dedication is so absolutely perfect haha
Emily
Emily is a very strong witch who doesn't let anyone tell her what to do. She is a tattoo artist and tarot card reader. She lost her parents at such a young age. She is a powerful witch who has been risking her life to go to the in-between realm to figure out what happened to her mom. Demons and angels don't even try to go there because of how risky it is. Her familiar is a ball python that is moody but protective who I absolutely adored. There are so many things she doesn't know especially with the person she's felt watching her for the past year.

Calling him a hot AF perfect book boyfriend wouldn't even do this man justice. He is a demon who is trying to find his youngest brother who went missing. He goes to a witch who he believes could be the answer to everything. He wasn't prepared for what she truly would mean to him. He is a incredibly loyal and protective. He is also beyond hot in every way.
Words can not express how much I loved this story. It has easily become one of my favorites. Everything about it is perfect. The scenes were perfect and the hotness was 🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵 like oh my goddess. The friendship, loyalty, hotness, and action were captivating in so many ways. You need to go read this one as soon as possible. My heart was swelling with how much I loved it.
Nothing is as it seems and nothing will ever be what it once was.
That line, once you read it will be everything. It might even be my next tattoo.

What a fantastic book from Cassie Fairbanks. I’m not an avid reader of PNR, but for a double 🍆 demon I think I could be. Her easy style of writing had me suckered in and the story progressed so steadily it was well into the night (or should I say early morning) when I finished reading. Emily and Jaxon are a great combination and their spicy scenes were hot but not overdone, leaving plenty of time for story progression. I found I was getting really into the world she created, Heaven vs Hell, Witch vs Demons and the background lore was so well thought out you can tell this series is going to be extended with plenty more stories to come. Considering this is only Cassie’s second book, the ease at which she writes you can tell there will be more great stories on the horizon.

I definitely felt like I was in an episode of Charmed the series. This was my first demon and witch book that I have read. I enjoyed reading it and learning about Emily and Jaxon story. Emily is a strong upcoming witch and learning more about her childhood and learning more about her powers. There is a lot to unfold as the story progresses. There is hidden secrets between Emily and her best friend I forget her name. Everything comes to light and as we continue to the next book. If you enjoy witch and demons this book will be for you. This book was so needed for me to get out of my reading slump. If you like demons and witchy stuff. This book is for you. The plot twists were amazing. The connections between the MMC Jaxon and FMC Emily was just amazing. I’m always loss at words to explaining connections. But you just feel them. The friendship between Emily and Charlie is also so beautiful 🥹

Paranormal romance featuring a magical witch and demon who are involved in a war between Heaven and Hell.
The writing was okay, not my favorite. Kind of felt immature at times and the dialogue between the two witches only consisted of “bitch.”
I was considering DNF at the beginning because it seemed centered only on smut but continued on because the plot did evolve.

This book was a ride! The story between Jax and Emily is fast paced and spicy with some wholesome moments all wrapped in a spooky vibe bow. It was fun to read and especially towards the end the plot gets really exciting and it opens up space for so much more with different characters that I am excited to see! If you’re looking for a book that has spooky vibes, with witches, demons, werewolf and other supernaturals this is the book for you!

honestly, the plot after about 90% is promising-ish. i'm interested to see how it would carry on into the next book.
emily (h) is a witch (only relevant towards the end of the book), and she's been "contracted" by jaxon (H), a demon (one of the 7 princes of hell), to find his missing brother. we find out that jaxon was told not to fall for emily by his dad, which is dumb cause if you're fourteen billion years old, then just tell him no? idk maybe that's just be. btw his dad is lucifer (again, only relevant towards the end).
ok so emily owns a tattoo (and tarot) studio in her town. apparently it has a reputation, amongst "mortals," to be "hanuted" or some shit like that idk its not relevant to the plot. what is relevant is emily's ex-fiance, aka dickbag cumsucker #1, . yay! :)
ok ok back to emily and jaxon. so, he's been following her for about a year, comes and asks her for help, gives her an orgasm or two (PLEASE DONT DO THAT IRL STRANGER DANGER) and then fucks off somewhere. in the meantime, emily has bad things happen to her by dickbag cumsucker #1 and ends up in the hospital.
apparently being a witch means having expedited healing cause not even 4hrs after she's released from the hospital does she get dicked down by her "3D" double dicked demon. until about 80% of the book literally all i could think about was whether they were up and down or side-by-side but turns out they're up and down. where are his balls? idk. how does this work? idk.
also he's red, has horns, and a tail.
i just hate that my dude jax, who probably presents himself as like a 30-something yr/o, rides a HARLEY (aka old, creepy men bikes).
as a final note- as someone with multiple tattoos, please be hygenic when giving/ receiving a tattoo. thanks. :)

It’s a great example of a sex-positive narrative, and I loved how that was handled. I also really enjoyed the themes of friendship and family throughout! It was also positive and playful.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the story! The fast pacing worked well in most areas but occasionally left me wanting more emotional context. As an autistic reader, I sometimes need feelings spelled out clearly, and there were moments where I struggled to understand the male lead’s emotions. I actually had to ask my partner to explain one scene, thinking the character might have a food/feeding fetish, but it turned out he just wanted to care for his partner! (Eggroll scene😅)
I’m excited to see what happens next in this world and look forward to diving into the next book.

I, too, want a Gomez to my Morticia.
That dedication definitely meant this was going to be business. And by business, I mean, an experience. And by an experience, I mean, a very, very entertaining read. In all senses of the word.
The world of the supernatural was introduced in such an effortless way that I seemed to absorb all the information organically. I felt I had all the information I needed. Which is surprising, considering this is a first to the universe. Of course, that means there’s so much more potential for more lore!
The plot raised me to Heaven and back and then brought me down to Hell. Not literally, of course. We don’t get to travel between the realms, much. I just meant that this was such a ride from start to end. A lot of mystery and revelations to go around.
Emily symbolizes my “mom, it wasn’t a phase” so deeply, I’m not even sure anymore. I loved her from the very start, and she just became more endearing and lovable as you read on. She’s not a pushover, and in a world such as this, that’s a very important trait to have.
Jaxon, the Gomez to her Morticia. I nearly swooned every line of dialogue he makes in adoration to Emily. He wants to protect her but knows she’s more than capable to handle things herself, but of course that doesn’t stop him from spoiling her in every which way.
For the romance, it is to die for. Hopefully, not literally. But it really is a personification of how much Gomez adores and worships the ground Morticia walks on, and that with the amount of very steamy spice? Ugh, perfection.

Oh gosh I loved this one so much !! The characters were awesome, Emily is such a unique female character, the goth characteristics of her is super interesting paired with the tattoo artist and witch parts of her. Jaxon was also super interesting, I loved his demon side and the unique characteristics of him as a demon. The magic system was really interesting to read about and I’m keen to see it in action again in the next book. I loved the angels vs demons storyline, it’s awesome to see it from the side of the demons being the protagonists as opposed to the angels who are always seen as the good guys. The spice was super good, the double peen situation was so interesting. Definitely my first time reading about that but I have to say it was done amazingly. I’d say it was about a 3/5 in terms of spice. It was only a short book and there was a decent amount of spicy scenes throughout and they were beautifully detailed. Overall, I’m obsessed with this book and about the only thing that I would’ve wanted would’ve been more of it. More background and more scenes and just more of them, Emily and Jaxon, more more more. It’s a 5 star read for me and I’d love to rec this to anyone that enjoys or is even curious about monster type romances.

Emily is such a stand out character. She’s withstood so much and is such a badass FMC.
Jaxon, while still is a demon, is the definition of morally grey. He is caring while not taking a second thought to rip out someone’s spiral cord.
Their love story is such a forbidden love, I’m living for it. Fated mates who?
So we figured out one plot twist because Cassie made it obvious but I did not expect the other 10 that you put in, kudos ma’am. The fact that I’m reading a smut book about a girl reading smut books is kinda ironic, don’t you think? I devoured this book in a couple of days, the only reason it took that long is because I was traveling and had to sleep at some point. I can’t tell you how much I loved this book bc it’s just that good. I loved the characters, the story, the heartbreak and the twists.

I've been trying to find the words to do this story justice. I think if I try to find them, I'll be waiting forever. This story was vastly different than Cassie's debut and I loved it. This story exceeded every expectation I had for a paranormal romance. And I don't mean a little bit, it blew my expectations out of the water. Every paranormal romance I read going forward will be compared to this. The romance was heated and full of banter. The story was intricate and detailed. You could feel the blood, sweat and tears that Cassie put into the story. My jaw dropped, I laughed, I swooned, I audibly gasped. The story really pulls you in a put you beside the main characters as you watch their strengths and their struggles. I loved Ghost, he was a fantastic comic relief and voice of reason. I cannot rave about this story enough. One of my favorite reads this year and one that I will most definitely add to my shelf and read again and again.

Author Cassie Fairbanks does an amazing job and writing interesting, relatable characters. The tone of the book is almost conversational, which makes it so easy to connect with the characters and feel like you really know them. The dual POV heightens this experience even more!
Our main FMC is a badass, powerful, independent witch with a sassy familiar. Our MMC/love interest is a protective demon who has a tough exterior and a soft heart. (Jaxxon is absolutely my new book boyfriend!)
The plot is interesting but the characters and the spice are where the book shines brightest. There were so many swoon worthy moments between our two main characters. (Can anyone say love at first sight done right!? 😍)
I highly recommend picking up Ink and Dagger. It is a great read that pulls you in from the beginning!

HOLY SH!T!! This was my first paranormal romance and I literally DEVOURED it!
First of all Emily is a badaśś. She’d been through so much, some which was relatable, she’s definitely in my top favorite FMCs🥰 I am obsessed with her Familiar Ghost. Though super grumpy he was hilarious throughout the whole book😂
Now Jaxon? Whew this man is something else! Mr. Morningstar was obsessed the MOMENT he laid eyes on Emily. I mean she was his Mate after all😏 Although she was a witch and he was a demon he knew he had to have her.
The fact that he had a demon version (his normal self) and human version of himself was just mind blowing😮💨 The horns? His tail?! AND the 2 🍆 WITH Jacob’s ladders?! Cassie has outdone herself with this one🤭
This book has the perfect amount of spice AND plot and I cannot WAIT for book 2 already! I don’t know how but I must now keep busy until then😭

(ARC reader) If you are super religious and can't handle seeing a demon as a love interest, you might wanna skip this one, but for the rest of us ... Omg, you guys, he has tattoos, a motorcycle, a freaking heart of gold, and TWO 🍆, with PIERCINGS for her pleasure. What else do you really need to know?
I finished this book in one sitting. And then I sat there, fanning myself and trying to recover and you know what? Apparently, trying to decide what I wanted to talk about in this review was too much for me cause before I knew it I went back to the beginning and read the entire thing AGAIN. I've been known to re-read a book now and then, but seriously, back-to-back without even a nap is way beyond the pale. I'm obsessed. Positively feral for these Morningstar men and I can not WAIT to read about his brother's future escapades next spring!

Be advised: this book is spicy and vulgar. It's very hot and heavy but also super well written. There's not too much world-building but that's not a bad thing! Cassie lets you know just what you need to know for the plot to make sense without bogging you down in the heavy details that accompanies other fantasy reads.
I thought this book was a perfect quick read to escape my daily life and instead read about two tattooed hotties working to unravel prophecies and solve disappearances. I literally cannot wait for book two and I highly doubt you'll be able to either!

I love paranormal/supernatural romance for this reason. When it is done well and seems to blend different ideas together seamlessly. Like anything is an option no matter the rules you were told. The relationship between Emily and Jaxon was fast and hot. Insta-lust, Insta-love, all from first sight (whether she knew it or not). The suspense and action of the plot was great, and it set up so much potential for the second book. I'm dying to know how things play out for all the characters and the cute familiars. I have a feeling Charlie and her demons are going to be super steamy. Overall, it was a great book with an in-depth thought-out plot that you should definitely check out. Especially for the two...😏

Oh my goddess, this book was phenomenal. I love Emily and Jax so freaking much. A badass witch and spicy mouth demon heck yes. Seeing Emily go from I do not want another relationship to screw this I need and want this demon was hot. And Jax’s instant protection, possessiveness and his instant wanting to get vengeance on her ex for what he did to her was fire. And finding out everything we did towards the end about the bond Charlie and Emily have with each just made it so much more fun and intense.

I couldn't put this down!!! It was such a great read. This paranormal romance has a world that is easy to understand and follow. Jaxon Morningstar and Emily Cross are just perfection. She is a bada$$ witch with sass to last you for days. While Jaxon is a dirty talking Demon who knows how to take care of his little witch. On top of that you have Ghost a sassy python.

When it's a choice of heaven or hell...I'll choose hell every time. I am drawn to the dark side like a moth to a flame. Any depiction of hell or lucifer or anything regarding them in movies, books, shows, it'd always my favorite. And the Depiction of hell and demons in THIS book has to be an overall favorite. The description. The spice is off the charts. The pictures Cassie paints. The feeeeeels she delivers. Thought I found my own Maritus for a minute there. I loved everything Emily and Jaxon. I practically finished the book in one day. And that ending scene. Lordddddddd. Come on book 2. I'll be waiting for you.

This book really takes a new route on the "Heaven vs. Hell" war. Not to mention this book is filled with some sexy spice scenes, and some rather comical moments throughout. This book was so much fun to read.
