I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I loved reading this amazing book it pulled me in from the start, the story was written well and the characters were fantastic. This story was about a Detective Matt Larson of the NYPD, he was talking to his mum on the phone and asked him for a favour and when he asked what was it, he was told to go to a coffee shop called Sprinkles and say hello to an old family friends daughter, months later he was reminded about the coffee shop and that was when he seen her, drool worthy drop dead gorgeous. Suzy's always wanted her own coffee shop with a silent partner that taught Suzy the ropes of running a business. Suzy noticed a man coming into her Cafe and always sat at the same seat, he introduced himself and asked her to go out. Suzy has some rules and one's that are hard No's, so she told him she just wants to remain as friends. This was a beautiful slow burn.

This was my first book by this author and it was cute, I enjoyed the suspense.

Suzy has so many rules when it comes to her business and dating life. She doesn’t like to break the rules, especially her own. But she finds herself questioning those rules when she meets a very handsome man.

Matt is a cop and loves it, but leaves little time for dating and relationships. Of course his mother is always on him about it and suggests he go see an old neighbor from his childhood and her new cafe. The first time he sees Suzy, he knows something is special about her.

The banter between the two was great. There was a lot of push and pull between these two. Suzy doesn’t date cops and then throw in a twist that she has connections to one of his cases and it’s a whirlwind of a mess. But the two can’t see to stay away from one another, they are drawn to each other.

ARC Review – Hearts in Handcuffs by Sayali Ash

Hearts in Handcuffs starts off at a slower pace as it introduces us to Matt, a dedicated cop, and Suzy, an ambitious business owner with firm boundaries when it comes to dating law enforcement. As the story unfolds, the tension builds through a mix of romantic conflict, personal backstories, and a deeper mystery involving gang activity. The introduction of new characters adds layers to the plot, especially when past secrets and family ties come to light. There’s a good balance of romance and suspense, with a consistent push and pull dynamic between the leads. While the ending may be predictable, it’s still satisfying and ties up the storyline in a way that gives each character closure.

Suzy Ford’s world is carefully ordered until Matt Larson walks in and unravels everything she thought she knew about love, trust, and herself. This book is a captivating blend of slow-burn romance and gripping suspense. The chemistry between Suzy and Matt is electric from the start, but what really elevates the story is the emotional depth behind Suzy’s rules and Matt’s hidden identity. Their journey is filled with vulnerability, wit, and real-world stakes that keep the pages turning.
With Brooklyn charm, high stakes mystery, and characters that linger long after the final page, this is a love story for readers who crave both heart and heat. Highly recommended for fans of romance with grit, intelligence, and soul.

I enjoyed this one but it definitely wasn’t my favorite. While it did feel pretty predictable there was still some cute moments.

The MMC is a cop and definitely adds a bit of mystery to the story but I felt read more like a mystery/suspense than a rom-com in my opinion.

In the beginning of the book I was really enjoying it but as the story progress I felt like everything felt a bit rushed and like the writing style had changed.

Thank you Torch Lit Ink and the author for allowing me to review this ARC.

The writing flowed well and there was a charm to the writing style. Suzy, a Cafe owner who lives by set rules, unknowingly gets involved with a cop and faves torn loyalties.
The plot had a few twists that added depth. However I found the plot a little predictable and the main characters on the bland side and needed more spice and distinction in their personalities to be more captivating as a whole.
Overall a sweet romance for those wanting a quick, easy read.

I haven’t read many books where the MMC is a cop. I maybe read one in the past and I honestly can’t remember that book lol. This book was a pretty good read, I give it 4 stars. The connection between the two main characters built fast. There was a lot of the characters playing games with each othe, like I wanna be with him but I can’t. It happens quite a few times. But finally they gave in.

this book the MMC is a cop, so if you like cop books, I would read it.

I had high hopes at the start of this book, the storyline was flowing but then suddenly the writing style dropped!
The dialogue felt more forced and became very clichéd and stilted, it was very difficult to finish.
The plot itself was good, but the MFC became quickly annoying with the games she kept playing, and another female character seemed to completely change at the end, unbelievably so.

This is a cute romantic suspense about a cafe owner and a police officer. Suzy and Matt had some good banter and chemistry, but there wasn't much spice in this one.

I had a bit of a hard time getting into this one, and I liked the idea of the story but some of the conversations pulled me out of it. I didn't love Suzy as much as I hoped to.

If you prefer low spice, this might be a good pick for you.

Suzy’s rules are what work for her. It is what helps make her company work smoothly and helps her in her day to day life.

Matt is a detective and is convinced to go check out a new cafe in town.

Suzy and Matt get along right aways, but Suzy doesn’t realize Matt is a cop (something that goes against her rules) and Matt doesn’t know what Suzy does after working/owning the cafe.

I really liked the good and would recommend it!

Matt is only going to say hello to Suzy because his mom asked him to. But ke likes what he sees in her. Suzy has her own issues, no dating cops, and to keep her brother out of trouble. But little does she know that he's in deep with the mob and has been trying to get out. This is so good. From beginning to the end I couldn't put it down. Can't wait for more of this series.I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This is book 1 in Ash's Guns and Roses series. I really enjoyed our main characters Suzy and Matt. The storyline was good and flowed smoothly but I would have liked a bit more steam. Overall, I really enjoyed the storyline, characters and character growth. Definitely looking forward to more in this series!

What an exciting, dangerous love story! Main characters were unique and they made an attractive couple, Suzy and Matt. Suzy lived by rules and found out by the end of the story she was a rule breaker, especially with hating and never dating policeman, with Matt being a detective. There was a scary and what’s gonna happen drama throughout that kept this reader at the end of her chair.

I got an ARC for this book and thought it was SO good. I was hooked, I loved seeing the story from many character’s angles. I wish the relationship wasn’t so fast at the start but it didn’t change my view on the book enough because they went really well together in the end. Storyline kept me on my toes. Just really good

OMG. So i just finished reading this arc.
Its this cute romance book about a detective (Matt Larson) and Suzy Ford.
Suzy has many rules including, dont date cops. Especially because her brother is tied to a gang & the lead suspect of one of detective Larson cases.
The storyline was interesting and the book was short. The dialogue is cliche but in a cute way

I loved reading this book and getting to know the richly developed characters of Matt and Suzy. Sayali's writing style is so immersive. I found Matt to be a yummy hero - an archetypal good guy who does the right thing. If only there were more real life men just like him! Side characters were also well developed and I was invested in their stories too! Excellent start to a thrilling series!

This was a good book it was a bit slower at the beginning when reading but it picks up later in the book. It was also a little confusing to read along since it wasn’t clear when the perspectives/ voices had changed. But it was a good book and if I had to describe it more, it was like a classic romance movie.

This book gave me the rush I’ve been missing, the action, the romance between the characters and the scenes, they were all spot on. I loved it so much that I read it twice and completely forget to write a review. Matt and Suzy have my heart just like they have each other’s but I highly recommend this story.

Suzy’s no nonsense rules and Matt’s hidden identity make for a gripping, slow-burn romance with just the right touch of danger. I loved the chemistry, the tension, and the emotional depth. A beautiful story about breaking rules for the right reasons.

2.5* rounded up for Goodreads.

It had a lot of potential in the beginning, but I think there were too many perspectives/things going on that the book lost it's luster and suspense. The FMC was also written to where she was super annoying to me. Like we get it no cops but don't keep going in this cycle every ten pages..
