Yuyuko Takemiya (竹宮 ゆゆこ Takemiya Yuyuko) is a Japanese writer of light novels. Takemiya debuted in September 2004 with her light novel series Watashitachi no Tamura-kun (Our Tamura-kun) which first appeared in the autumn 2004 issue of Dengeki hp Special, a special edition version of Dengeki hp. That same month, Takemiya worked on the scenario for the bishōjo game Noel by FlyingShine (also known for creating Cross Channel).

Following the completion of Watashitachi no Tamura-kun, Takemiya began her best-known series, Toradora!, which she declared to be complete in April 2010 after ten volumes and three spin-off books. The first book of her next series, Golden Time, was Dengeki Bunko's 2000th published light novel. Takemiya launched the manga series Evergreen with artist Akira Kasukabe on July 19, 2011 in ASCII Media Works' Dengeki Daioh Genesis quarterly magazine.

In the aftermath of the ski trip, emotions are running high and secrets are being kept. But Minorin has had just about enough of this and the air is about to be cleared in the loudest way possible. Then it gets worse.

Toradora should not work. Nothing about it is particularly unique, people yell a lot, and it’s got a romance being stretched so hard it’s going to snap before this adaptation finishes.

Yet I love this series and I love it hard. Every year at this time I wait patiently for the yearly tankobon to drop as we slowly move to this adaptation maybe being finished before I collect old age pension and I don’t even care - I devour it and begin to wait yet again.

Even if the release and the relationship might be slow moving, it’s not like nothing happens. Especially the last few volumes, where everybody seems to have one setting and it’s ‘yelling’

But, it’s not like it isn’t believable. These are kids, they’re at that age, and, in case you missed it, they’re all incredibly broken. Taiga outright wishes she’d had a normal life this volume and it drives home the sad mess they’ve all been left in.

Even Ryuji bites hard on the hand that’s fed him, viciously so, because he’s suffering from somebody essentially killing themselves just so he can have a better life. Except that’s just making him miserable, even if he has it better on paper.

Make no mistake, this is as soapy as it gets, but this is some high quality soap that’s been written within an inch of its life and then some. These are some raw outbursts that are some real melodrama, but it’s some of the best I’ve ever enjoyed in a manga.

And there are still the silly touches like Taiga and Ryuji working together at a bakery for a hot minute and that very silly moment of delayed karma that cuts the tension after Ryuji really sticks his foot in his mouth.

This is basically just gushing because once I got into Toradora I fell hard for its multitudinous charms and have been rewarded time after time. Minus Kitamura, who does have some fun moments, everybody gets a lot to do here.

And I could spend many, many paragraphs on how good Minorin is in this one, powering through to force something to finally change around here because she’s the only one not hiding from her feelings, even if they’re breaking her heart at the same time. But then, Kawashima is just as good.

5 stars - everything just keeps firing away on all cylinders and then some. This series reminds me why I love manga in the first place and it also makes me want to start from the first volume and read it all again every time. Not many series can claim that.

Finalmente pasa lo que tenia que pasar, bueno el inicio porque ni pasa nada.

Pero luego Riuyi le hace algo horrible a su máma, osea eso no se hace, que clase de monstruo desalmado es

Another year, another Toradora volume. All the key moments in this volume hit really well, and like always, provides some new perspectives to that light novels and anime. I don't think that one was quite as strong as volume 10, but I definitely enjoyed reading it.

Love to see happy endings in healthy relationships!
This was cute, but I gotta say, it was targetted toward teenagers more. I would've loved this back then. Now it's just ok.
I'm happy there wasn't any evil villain among these kids. That usually throws me off from these kind of stories because it gets unrealistic.
I would've made a few changes at how they finally confessed their feelings to each other. But generally this was an easy and lighthearted read that I kinda needed while reading "Made in abyss".

This volume has some truly great moments. Minorin finally lets it all out and Ryuuji has a heartbreaking moment with his mother. It does end a little abruptly and I am not sure how long we will have to wait for volume 12 but we are entering the final stretch.

Futuro e sentimenti contrastanti. La verità riesce a venire a galla riguardo più personaggi. La situazione finale è critica, c'è rabbia e conflitto, ma anche comprensione e sostegno. Le paure in campo, sono, come al solito spiazzanti. Ma... vedremo.

Lots of emotions in the volume. And the chocolate's and Taiga is super cute. Cliffhanger ending. How long until the next volume?

Ugh it sucks waiting SO LONG between volumes just to have it feel rushed, choppy and end abruptly!!!
I love this story and I have read the light novels and watched the anime but I have this soft spot for the manga. I just love the art style so much… So, I guess I’ll suffer for it LOL.
We are getting closer to the end and finally, Taiga knows that Ryuuji knows how she feels.. And Minori got her closure with Ryuuji. Taiga has been suffering to make others happy and Minori told her that it’s HER OWN job to make herself happy. Amen! You can’t get through life without hurting someone. Even someone you love. Thank goodness, humans are resilient though!
