Okay so … Tanner is AMAZING and everything anyone could want in a partner. He’s selfless, thoughtful, sweet, kindhearted, country, family oriented, dirty in the sheets, has a filthy mouth, and is ginormous. But, I feel like we didn’t get to know him very well, other than how much he loved Aisling. His hockey career and lead-up to starting in the NFL was brushed over and seemed to not be an aspect in the story at all.

And then there was the FMC, Aisling. God, she was the worst FMC I have ever come across! Her reasoning for ‘ghosting’ Tanner all those years ago was pathetic, and the way she led him on during the Summer (and probably during college, although we never learnt anything about what happened then) was appalling. She treated Tanner horribly, I honestly have no idea what he saw in her. Then, once they finally got together, she wanted to keep their relationship a secret from their literal best friends because of how they would perceive her?! WTF?! She acted like she was Queen Bee and the biggest player in the country, when she seemed to only be in a serious relationship with one person in her final year. And she was OBSESSED with this version of herself she created that she truly believed her BEST friends would care that she was now seeing Tanner. It was also suggested that she put in such hard work to renovate the lake house but we never actually saw her do anything, it seemed to just skip to when all the new furniture was being delivered. IMO, Aisling had no ambition, other than working for her family’s business by paying other people to do all the hard work renovating, and she had no passion for anything other than keeping up this fake persona to all the people who loved her. I seriously don’t understand why Tanner put up with all of that. He deserved so much better than her.

THIS BOOK WAS SO LONG.
It was completely hard to finish the begging was fine I like where the story was going but then it just dragged I was waiting for it to just finish 🤦🏻‍♀️
I dislike how much repetitive some words/sentences are like I GET IT! What is the obsession with khakis??? And freckles?? And hearts on sleeves or whatever??
Mason is actually pretty cute and I liked him <3 but I wish the story was written better honestly 🙁

Took me so long to read bc I hated reading it but refused to dnf. Aisling annoyed me to no end and I hated that it was made known that every guy on the trip to the lake houses wanted her. I also hated how protective/possessive Tanner was of her. I just genuinely did not enjoy this one at all

Cute, Cringey, Repetitive

How was Aisling more interesting in book 1 than book 2? She was just so cringey. I loved the male lead Tanner since the last one, and overall, I’m just glad he finally got the girl he wanted. This is the first book I’ve read in awhile since my reading slump over the summer, but some parts actually did put me to sleep so it’s been incredibly underwhelming. Nevertheless, a star for my favorite couple and friends appearing in the summer shenanigans. A star for how romantic and thoughtful Tanner has been, but I don’t get why it was mentioned that he liked to be called Mason when the female lead only said it once. Finally, a star for the pining, which was the best part of the entire book. I’m sorry but it got less interesting when they finally got together, even their romps were vanilla and basic, no spice here. Since a major discussion was about how much Tanner was a red flag, I’m actually more convinced that Aisling was a red flag. She’s not very bright either, but I guess that’s what makes her attractive since all the guys went gaga for her.

Tbh i dont know why people like this book. The fmc is or acting all shy and giggles and the next chapter she goes pole dancing in front of like 15 guys. I felt like the storyline was made up as the book went in the most basic, easiest way ever. My tough after would probably be 'did a child write this?'. Sorry sapphire hale but this one is a miss.

Two stars for Tanner

I absolutely adored the first book and unfortunately this sequel was a big let down.

This book needs a major editing overhaul. The amount of times the phrase “heart on my sleeve” is used is so nauseating. It’s weird. And second to that is the word Khaki. The purpose behind that is never, not once, explained which is so odd.

Tanner is everything, he’s perfect. Aisling…where to start. Her personality is one thing - insecure. And that’s fine but there’s no character growth until 95%. The whole reason they weren’t together after their first night together is so infuriating and stupid. It’s not miscommunication, it’s worse. Aisling simply judged Tanner without even talking to him and ghosted him for four years even after his many attempts to talk to her and fix things. He didn’t even know what he did wrong and he still tried for FOUR YEARS.

Then when they finally get together, she makes him hide it from literally everyone because she’s scared that it will ruin her reputation of hating him. Yup. She doesn’t want anyone to think she wasn’t being genuine when she hated him for four years for doing absolutely nothing. This poor man (I hate when writers make me defend a man).

Anyway, this whole book was no for me. Tanner is amazing and deserved ten times better than Aisling.

2/5⭐️
2/5🌶️ (there was a lot of spice but I skipped it all because I don’t like Aisling)

DNF'd at 54% I just didn't really get their relationship.

So Tanner/ Mason has slept with everyone in his high school (gross) first year in collage and he wants to change his ways and have a proper relationship.

Aisling wants to be done with playboys as she feels that she has to be a bigger player around them as she will get her heart broken.

They meet and immediately sleep together. So much for Tanner turning over a new leaf. Tanner didn't tell Aisling anything about himself so she found out that he has a player from a group chat with all her cheerleader friends around all the girls he had slept with. Don't forget you don't find this out till 50% in.

Aisling ghosts Tanner so he doesn't sleep with anyone else for 3 months! wow because he knew she was the one but what's a guy to do. Not that, how can you prove you have changed when you haven't.
Miscommunication is annoying but this one was ridiculous I am not sure why he messaged her however didn't bother to actually go and speak with her.

Aisling has an issue with people only wanting to be with her because she is rich however Tanner didn't know this.

I don't care if these 2 end up in a relationship there is still loads of book to go and I just dislike both characters.

Review: (2.5⭐️, 2.5🌶️)
Mason Tanner the man that you are...very sweet, selfless, thoughtful, family oriented, but dirty and filthy in the sheets. I loved him and I loved that he loved Aisling...but besides his hockey career and his family/friends there isn't much to know about him...I wish we got more in depth of his character since his main thing was being obsessed with Aisling. Now for Aisling...I didnt really like her. Besides having the love of wanting to be in her family business she really isnt all that. I didnt like how she wanted to keep her and Tanners relationship a secret since she wears her heart on her sleeve...I also didnt understand with how they had such a close knit group of friends that everyone "knew" they had a thing but she wanted to hide it...like seriously 473 pgs. of that is just Tanner explaining hes tired of hiding and wants to pursue her and she just says shes "scared??" after all that hes reassured her?? I kept reading because I loved Tanner...but honestly I cant think of why he would love her...

The only thing that I could say are The waiting is worth it and where can I find Mason Tanner in real life?😭

Tanner and Aisling is perfect for eo, from the little scenes we got in previous book making this one feels special especially when we know how long their little slow burn has started, then finding out like about the little things like the contract phone, khaki cap and the cheer flyer? Definitely making their story even more special, I literally giggling kicking my feet over those scene (Sapphire Hale never failed making me feel single when reading her book😭)

I can't wait to see what the next book is, is it Caden and Winter? The little tattoo fact by the end of the book intriguing me👀

if I hear the phrase heart on my sleeve one more time I’m gonna lose it. also tanner is such a sweetheart but dude STAND UP ! like I’m all for a good guy obsessed but he was WEAK! she’s a bitch and walking you like a dog and you did not need to stand for it. don’t stutter when you talk to her don’t act like you’re blessed just for her looking at you. she treats you like shit. STAND. UP. the fact that she wanted to hide it and basically led him on is sad. also i truly hate to break it to them but they were being the opposite of discreet. I absolutely adored the first book so this was a major let down for me. it was just so hard to keep up with and the main characters drove me insane. I really want her to write a book for Connell though. he’s such a sweetie.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨
Plot: 🤫☺️🍂
Smexy: right amount ❤️‍🔥🫡🌶️

To be honest, I loved this book more than the first. It was a bit more… well, it connected with me. The writing could be improved more and this has potential. I just hope there would be more books in the series that would also give us a glimpse of this couple’s lives in the future. Cause, there’s no doubt they’re both mu favourite. Ever since the first book, you can feel their tension and energy hidden between them. Plus, their chemistry is unmatched, even with the dreaminess of Caden x Winter and Hunter x Fallon.

Sorry sweetie, but Mace and Ash made me fell drop on the floor ~

dnf’d because how was this book 473 pages and giving us NOTHING. I actually found myself going “when is this going to end” because I just couldn’t read anymore about Aisling and her “bad girl player” persona aka her whole personality. the repetitive words like “quads”, “khaki” got boring real quick. The plot behind Aislings ghosting made absolutely no sense and honestly ruined any potential this book had to be in anyways good quality. A very disappointing read.

This book was cute and better than the first one, but it still felt rushed and a bit lacking. It seemed like the perfect storyline, but the reason they stopped talking was so stupid it annoyed me. Also-how he said you gave me no choice when she confronted him about how much he slept around-she didn’t do ANYTHING. If he was so stuck on her, he wouldn’t have done anything with another girl. No matter how long they didn’t talk. I disliked tanner for a bit after that.

Tanner is absolutely sweet & adorable, but I added this book to my DNF list on page 125 because Aisling is one of the WORST female characters ever written!

She's such an entitled, spoiled brat - so vindictive and manipulative - that I didn't want to get to the point of she and Tanner having a happy ending because he deserves so much better.

3.8/5 Stars! So cute! 4 years and the MMC never gave up on love - how sweet! Not as much "sport romance" as in the first book in the series. Love a summer romance, being forced to hang our with one another based on proximity, playing hard to get, etc. The MMC was so intentional - buying the reno lake house and getting a tattoo of "his heart on his sleeve. Enjoyed it!

4.5/5 i reckon, i enjoyed them both so much but just part of me is actually a little bit annoyed that aisling didn't even give him one chance of proving himself when they first met and just immediately cut him off BUT i had fun nonetheless

I enjoyed the plot line, but the way the book was written wasn’t really in the style I like. It lacked something, maybe descriptiveness.

I needed to finish the book to see the ending but definitely wasn’t a book where I couldn’t put it down.
