This is a story of Daisy and Aelius who are kind of on bad terms in start or its just in Daisy’s head. They kissed at a party during the game of truth and dare where Aelius dares her to kiss him and pronounces himself as the best kisser of the town. After a year daisy is in relationship with his childhood crush who cheats on her with Aelius’s girlfriend and both of them catches their partners kissing in Aelius’s birthday party (the irony). Daisy thinks that alex cheated on her because she wasn’t a good kisser so she wants Aelius to be her kissing tutor. After few attempts of pursuing Aelius he agrees to be her tutor but on a condition that she will be her calc tutor which annoys daisy because she barely pass in the subject. 💘 REVIEW: This is a cute YA romance which will definitely remind you of your teenage love. The book hooks you in from the very first page and keeps the pace going. The main characters - Daisy and Aelius - are adorable and their chemistry has you rooting for them. The author also handles themes of grief, healing and self-discovery very well, elevating the emotional quotient of the book. Overall, recommended for romcom readers who enjoy YA/Highschool love stories!
💘 STRENGTH: 1. Witty Banter and cute chemistry 2. Fast-paced book with short chapters 3. Accompanied by an interesting playlist 4. Engaging writing with a poetic touch.
💘 WEAKNESS: 1. The descriptive writing in the beginning can feel a bit confusing. 2. Supportive characters lack depth.
When we're in love, we sometimes push ourselves to extremes to show we're worthy, but this can chip away at our self-respect. Why should love require us to prove anything? Shouldn't we be accepted just as we are?
When Daisy’s childhood crush, Alex, cheats on her, she blames herself for not being a great kisser. To win him back, she asks Aelius, the best kisser around, to teach her how to kiss. Aelius, however, is hesitant because he wants Daisy to experience her first real kiss with someone special. As their friendship deepens, Daisy starts to develop feelings for Aelius. Will she recognize her growing affection for him, or will she go back to Alex? Read the book to see how Daisy’s heart finds its way.
I absolutely loved this sweet and short story, especially because of Aelius. He’s the greenest flag a girl could hope for—always protecting Daisy, taking care of her, and even writing her heartfelt letters. He made sure Daisy knew she was perfect just as she is and didn’t need to prove herself to anyone.
The charming cover, cheesy lines, and the playlist at the end made the story even more enjoyable. The key takeaway? Never feel the need to prove yourself to others; instead, embrace who you are.
If you're in the mood for an adorable YA romance to lift your spirits, this book is definitely for you.
This book was like a healing therapy to my soul. Undoubtedly, this is one of my best reads of this year. I loved the way the author has beautifully written this novel. The chapters were short and crisp. It was like, she has perfectly made the content to fit in a way that the readers don't get bored. Every chapter keeps you on the edge to know what happens next. And towards the end, you'll love the final chapter for what Daisy has done to Alex. And you'll discover many elements like love, jealousy, cheating, embarrassment, guilty conscious, the longingness, realisation of their feelings and so on. Aelius and Daisy's banters were too cute to handle. I was blushing every time I read when Aelius teased her. I couldn't specify a single part of the novel to be my favourite, because the whole novel itself is my favourite. I can rant about that all day, but that would be a spoiler. All I can say is that, Aelius is such a gentleman for a high school boy he is. This novel has Aelius’letters where you can find an interesting plot twist, a bonus chapter that could heal all the readers expectations and of course this book has a playlist, all these were like an icing on the cake.
This book literally has everything for a romance reader. I would highly recommend this to all my reader friends who are actually soft-romance readers. You guys will enjoy reading this book.
When Daisy Eve sees her boyfriend Alex kiss another girl, she makes it her mission to become a great kisser. She realises there can be no better tutor than Aelius Carter Hayes, the pretty Italian boy with blue eyes, famed as the best kisser around the campus.
When she requests him to give her kissing lessons, he asks for calculus lessons in return. And thus starts a sweet and cute tale of friendship, self-discovery, and love.
This book would be a great pick if you like:
💋 YA romance
💋 Short chapters
💋 Slow burn
💋 Books with epilogue
💋 happily ever after
💋 "He wrote her letters"
I loved the short chapters and how each of them had a title. I was worried that the book might lack depth in terms of plot and characters as it is less than 200 pages long, but I am so glad that this wasn't the case. Both the main characters were very well fleshed out, and the plot didn't just revolve around the physical act of kissing.
The author built the anticipation well around the kissing lessons and gave a nice and enjoyable slow-burn romance to readers. Aelius is a green-flag MMC who could definitely be your next book boyfriend.
The epilogue and the letters at the end were the cherry on the cake! Highly recommend this book if you like reading romance novels.
The Kiss Equation by Pooja Pathak is an insight of the struggle of the heart and the soul on the process of love. The novel focuses around the character of Daisy Eve who is suffering from the quantum effect of a serious love affair and is in process of healing herself. She then meets a man called Aelius Carter Hayes a man , a heartbreaker himself.
Pooja Pathak is a grounded and endearing writer whose writing can be described as poetic at many times. Regarding character development she has performed a good job in giving the inner-struggle of Daisy and the frailty of Aelius which makes them ordinary and interesting. While the events revolve around the protagonists’ love suffering betrayal and realistic search for affection, the real love.
Quite unexpectedly the plot reveals a plenty of introspective scenes with meaningful reflection. That is why, The Kiss Equation takes a glance at the nature of an intimate connection, reviling that a constant longing for safety and comfort in partnership, as well as its total satisfaction, do not depend only on passion between two people; therefore, to rebuild passion, one has to rely on trust. The major success of the novel is worth noting the complexity of the presentation of the relationships and development of the characters.
In "The Kiss Equation", author Pooja Pathak weaves a poignant tale that navigates the complexities of love, heartbreak, and personal growth. Central to the narrative are Daisy Eve and Aelius Carter Hayes—two souls intertwined by the misfortunes of love💕 and the yearning for connection. After witnessing her childhood crush in an act of betrayal with Aelius Carter Hayes's girlfriend at a party, Daisy spirals into self-doubt.
Aelius, who is renowned for his kissing abilities, is also nursing his own emotional wounds. The deal struck between him and Daisy—a “kissing tutoring” session—serves as a cleverly devised plot mechanism that allows both characters to confront their insecurities in an environment tinged with both longing and fear.
The novel beautifully delves into the theme that love is more than just physical connection; it’s about feeling secure and valued in a relationship💞. Author Pooja Pathak's engaging prose and well-developed characters invite readers to reflect on their own journeys of love, making this novel a resonant and satisfying read. Overall, "The Kiss Equation" is a heartfelt exploration of love's complexities, making it a must-read for anyone who has ever experienced the highs and lows of romance💙🎑
The book is about Daisy and Aelius. Daisy is in love with her childhood friend but he cheated on her. Being hurt she did something she never thought she would ask Aelius to teach her how to kiss. Aelius is renowned for his kissing prowess striking a deal with Daisy to tutor him in exchange for lessons. But will this deal be just a deal or something else is gonna happen?
This book is such a cute book 🥺. I just can’t get over the book because it was so good to read. It was written beautifully. The way Aelius loved Daisy was wholesome and so beautifully described. There were so many scenes when I fell in love with him. The way he cared for her, bringing food for her, making sure that she is studying and acing her exams, being there for whenever she needed him even after getting hurt by her. I also loved when Daisy started realising her true feelings for him and the party scene in the end was really something I didn't expect her to do the same. The one thing I was waiting for in the book was Aelius pov and that chapter has my heart like for me that chapter was what I was looking for.
If you ask me if I would suggest this book then I would definitely recommend you to read this book. It is such a good book and you will surely fall in love with the equation of their kiss.

In an attempt to bring her love back, she decides to take classes from Aelius Carter Hayes who was well known for his kissing skills. She had the hope that maybe lessons on kissing from Aelius would make Alex realise everything he had been overlooking all this while. On the other hand, Aelius was dealing with his own pain. Daisy & Aelius ends up making a deal to recover whatever they had lost. And thus starts a sweet & cute tale of romance & self discovery. Despite being different, both the characters share an amazing chemistry which is undeniable. I personally loved the character Aelius more, his efforts towards Daisy would definitely make you fall in love. Dive into the story to find out what had God planned for the two ? A romantic charming young adult read from Pooja Pathak's The Kiss Equation makes you believe in the emotional highs and lows of life with that teenager. Cozy to the core, the read is perfect for rainy days and captures effortless ups and downs of love, healing, and discovery during these impressionable years.
One of the most vivid highlights of the book is the accessible writing of Pathak - not too cheesy but funny, rich in real emotions. The characters appear vibrant and real with their quirkiness and insecurity. This is what makes the story chock full of layers, and it does keep you interested in how Daisy unfolds against Aelius.
Author's descriptive prose lets one immerse in it without dragging along unnecessary details. Every emotion, every conversation fell into place, and it was even easy to get caught up in the whole thing.
A luscious and fluffy read for the teenage YA romance type, presented with different forms of growth, because of friends or because of a connection. It is a great reminder that real love is all about acceptance, vulnerability, being properly seen and valued.

I love Love LOVE this book so much. It was such a refreshing and easy going novel. It's awesome 😃😃 . I Love Aelius character so much. He is such a sweetheart 😘 he is a charmer and oh my god such a green flag MMC. He is always there for her. The way he takes care of her, the way he understands her, the way he supports her 🫠🫠🫠 . Daisy is a little confused heartbroken girl. Well the story is about her recognising how true love feels like what it is to be actually taken care of by someone. She was so infatuated by her crush and she wanted to prove that she is deserving to be with him. I like the character arc and development. I love how Daisy matches his flirty behaviour. I like their banter so much 🫶🏼 . If you want a non-spice, young adult, banter filled, romcom this should be your choice,😘😘
