Me reading this book
It started off strong but
Where was the bdsm tbh?? And the plot- it wasn't making any sense to me. Like was her father related to any of the other things the club was asked to do smth about??
Also her father is literally beating her to death for almost 3 weeks and I'm glad that finally the mmc is here, now he's gonna take care of her but like the gentleman he is and lady she is, they start having smex.
2 stars cuz at least it was short

This was like Praise vs Sons of Anarchy had a baby, totally vibing this mash up.
Elodie is a socially isolated 23yo virgin whose father is a complete mobster bad guy. He’s trying to sell her virginity off because he’s a sad, sad little man with emotional control issues. So her pen pal signs her up to a BDSM club run by a biker club and Elodie says live laugh toaster bath and gives the goods away to our MC VP Henley in a smeggs club (as one does). Naturally, what happens after doesn’t go so well for her.
The premise of this book was bangin’ (no pun intended) and the fast pace was definitely a win. There were some general character motivations that I was personally confused by, some of the language choices a bit jilted and I felt that detracted a tiny bit from earning a 4th star.

I would have liked a bit more, with how Lexi describes him, I may have needed a little more of that dominant voice in my head 🤭 I would have also liked to know what went on when they re-visited the club a few times with their D/s growth. The plot leads us through, a story of intrigue and crime, leaving us with questions, and maybe a little hot under collar with what Henley does too 🫣

I love the biker element of this & Henley is a dreamboat - rugged, tattooed biker man!
Our FMC Elodie’s vulnerability shows but so does her determination to fight against it. Some elements weren’t 100% for my taste, but I really enjoyed their relationship & only wish we got to see a little more of it towards the end of the book. I’m hoping that will transpire in the rest of this series, all of which I am looking forward to.

The book is a short read, fast-paced, and delicious 😋
There is plot and spice, and the book leads us nicely into the series. Can't wait for the next release.

Elodie and Henley’s story is a quick read with insta-love, a possessive MMC, and a sweet, innocent FMC. Henley knows what he wants and isn’t afraid to go after it. Elodie is filled with wonder and a desire for freedom after being forced into seclusion for so long. I would have loved a bit more build up and focus on the Dom/sub relationship as that was the main point at the beginning of the story. I know that they will make appearances in future books, so I am curious to see how the major plot point ends up working out. Check your TWs for this book and the others to come in the series.

The connection between our MCs is undeniable. Elodie was brought up in a very strict household, and had an extremely sheltered life. You know those old sayings don't speak unless unless spoken to and a lady needs to cater to her man's needs? That's how Elodie was brought up. The second she met Henley there was an instant spark and he was not about to let her go. He is extremely protective of her and will go to the ends of the earth to make sure she is safe. I was unable to put the book down, needing to know what happened to Elodie and Henley. I am excited to see what the next book in this series shares with us.

I really wanted to love this but it just wasn't for me. The premise sounds cool - motorcycle club running a BDSM bar? Innocent heroine and badass male lead? Unfortunately it just didn't do it for me... Also, read the triggers, if you're not into physical and mental abuse you're going to have a rough time.
PLOT:
Elodie is a shut in / abused girl who's dad sells her to the head of a motorcycle club because she gave up her virginity and he wants her gone. She's met the man before and actually applied to be his sub so she could leave her father's cage. He and the club buy her and the get together.
THOUGHTS:
- I wanted to love this but I found most parts boring and Elodie was.... Kinda the worst? Like I expected her to be innocent but the way she's written she's basically a horribly abused woman who acts like a child and has never had any pleasure in her life ... So when she gets chosen as a sub it almost feels like he's abusing someone who can't really consent because they've always been abused. That's not hot at all.
- next she kind of annoyed the heck out of me. Like she doesn't drink, can't swear, doesn't get jokes or innuendo, barely knows her own anatomy and physiology and is basically struggling with serious mental health issues. Shes got body dysmorphia because her dad withholds her gym from her and mocks her when she gains weight and having Henley call her bunny..... Big yikes for me.
- bro there's like a whole chapter about this girl getting beat half to death by her dad.... And then the male lead takes her home and starts sexing her up ..... Like what?!? She's in such poor condition and he's all "yep, that'll do it". Not great or hot at all.
- then there's Henley (whose name I HATED). He's just your average hot biker dude who likes a submissive girl and she's the only one he's connected with (because she's literally been abused her whole life and is always submissive). He's basically got no personality to me and becomes obsessed with her literally the second they meet.
- the smut was actually pretty good which is why it's not one star but everything else was meh to me at best.

WOW OH WOW I LOVED THAT!!
are we suprised?? i love a good MC romance.. but with the dark twists in this book,i loved it even more... the end spin me sideways... i didn't think it was super depraved until i hit that last chapter & it smacked me in the face...🤭
the whole plot of this book was delicious,as bdsm enthusiast & participant it spoke to my soul on levels i can't describe... the use of implements,the bdsm terminology,it truly made my heart so happy to see representation of that lifestyle done so perfectly... it was educated,it was very well clear cut that consent and roles as a dominant and submissive were clearly outlined & portrayed correctly! i loved how it had real life sort of like clippings? of the contracts undergone?? it really made it feel way more realistic and really immersive when reading and added tenfold to the reading expierence for me,although i'm no bdsm expert just an enthusiastic participant i felt like it was represented very well! i deeply appreciate the chemistry between henley & elodie & elodie has my heart forever! to go from a shell of a person too a strong willed,defiant fmc is my favourite part of this! henley knows how to tame her though! i don't want to give any spoilers!!
the writing style is beautiful,the smut is incredible & towards the end gets super smutty and i love how it still all circles back to their bdsm lifestyle and the roles they play in that arrangement (that's a hint i say no more🤭) it was an honour to arc read this for lexi & i literally couldn't put it down i basically neglected everything i had to do just to finish it... it's literally 11:13pm & i had to finish it... This is my first book I have read from Lexi Gray. I really enjoyed her writing style. I’ll admit the tropes listed to describe this book are ones I usually wouldn’t go for, but I wanted to try something new. Unfortunately, I can confirm I just don’t vibe with the breeding or the daddy kinks. It also wasn’t as spicy as I thought it was going to be - or am I just reading too much smut these days? Lol
While this was a quick read, there were some parts of the story I wished were elaborated on. With that said, it was still a good story that kept me interested but wanting more. I would continue the series to learn more about the other Dirty Sinners characters and the club in general.

It has been a while since BDSM has come to light in novels. I was kind of hoping that a book phenomenon years ago would do for erotica what Twilight did for vampires/paranormal in general. Let’s face it after Twilight, paranormal just got the mainstream respect it deserved for far too long. With erotica, it struggled a little but on the shelves and I got it.
Erotica gets very bad press - dainty covers, it’s now called smut and people use corn emojis. It’d always be a more delicate subject. Until… dark romance emerged. The hero we did not know we needed because dark goes through a lot of genres and dark erotica is now a thing. And here is my chance to get my sweet sweet BDSM back in the good graces of bookshelves… well it did come with a twist that now it is getting darker.
The phase of the billionaires is long gone, we are fully in morally grey men's territory right now, which I welcome. To be fair it would be getting quite tiresome to write about the same guy just buying everything and his kink. It’s great for a few books but every time? We don’t even have that many billionaires, the FMC virgins were taking them all! But dark erotica? Now that’s a field where we can explore how f**** up these people are. I have graduated from the University of A.N. Roquelaure, you cannot scare me.
“The Red Room” has excellent examples of why BDSM will be the k!nk to stay in modern books. We get the versions of their contracts where we see Elodie’s side and what she’s trying to get from this experience and Henley’s side of the contract and what his limits are. Eloise is inexperienced above all and she still has a lot of limits to get to, while Henley is completely bored from the scene. Eloise looks at BDSM like it will be her salvation from her abusive father and her being a prisoner in her home. BDSM can indeed be freeing and while she looks at it for maybe not the best reasons, it is clear that outside of her toxic home, she would be able to be different. Henley gives her that chance, the chance to go away and start new but not without himself trapping her in other ways.
And though my favourite scene was the BDSM contract, I would have loved to see more scenes with it. For a novella on BDSM, it has surprisingly not a lot of spicy scenes. The last smutty scene I didn’t even find shocking because I would have loved to have it more explored (those who know, know!). You want to go dark? Sis, go all the way out! Because it would have been so much fun to analyse the way Henley uses Eloise’s body in such a shocking way, I would have loved to read all those little details. People would probably throw up afterwards but I think it’s something to think about for the second book. Do not spare any more shocking detail because I would thrive on that.
When freed, Eloise wishes to be like any other girl: go outside, do some shopping, and have some friends. But while her rebellious phase is short-lived, the ending proves to be a little bittersweet. Now it is a HEA in the traditional sense of the word - Eloise and Henley stay together, but it is not under her terms and this is why I consider “The Red Room” dark erotica because this relationship while it started with Eloise’s will to break free of another man’s grip, she ends up in another's.
While Henley is somehow her protector, Eloise is a damaged person. She has been punished physically and verbally by her father and other people, so Henley’s actions toward her are acceptable because she sees that what he does, while morally wrong to regular people, comes out of a place of love. A twisted one, but it’s almost as if she falls away from the pattern of trying to take control of her life, karma swoops in and reminds her that she needs to be punished for even trying. Henley promises to give her stability in life but for now, he does not abdicate control.
“The Red Room” is a quick-paced dark erotica novella where Eloise breaks free of her abusive cycle at home to start her adventure in exploring her sexuality and herself as a person outside of the toxic environment. While her journey is just starting and the next story is about a different couple, I am very curious to see how she will grow as a person in the following books.

This was a fantastic read for me. It had fantastic motorcycle club vibes along with some mafia vibes as well. I loved the idea of a motorcycle club owning and running this club for doms and subs and how much went into the contracts and matching of partners. I absolutely fell in love with Henley right from the start. The consideration that was shown in the storyline of the importance of his need to find the perfect match was great and it really helped me get connected with him and get invested in the storyline. My heart absolutely broke for Elodie and her horrible upbringing but how she handled herself and did what she needed to in order to break free was amazing. I did find myself wishing for more while I read the story to help expand on the characters, the club, the issues being handled, etc. and the timeline jumped a good deal throughout the book which left me feeling like I was missing some things but, nonetheless, I still loved it and I cannot wait for the next stories to come in this series.

Have you ever had a dad hide you away from the world? Then this book is for you. The red room by Lexy Gray it’s about a 23 year old woman who her father has hide her from the world and stricter to be a good educated, respectful, submissive woman. So he can sell her in the market as a bride. Elodie knowing this, she decide to rebel against her father and apply for the Drench in Sin, a bdsm club and pairing. Where she meets Henley, the 35 older club/biker owner.
This was a good book. The fact that Henley did that to her while she was asleep, had me gagging and in shock of what he did. There was some spice. I would have liked to have a little bit more spice, but between from 1 out of 10… I would’ve give it a five on spice. The plot twist was good. I didn’t expect the father to do that to her. But the fact that he (Henley) fell 1st for her, was everything and for a girl that was raise to be a submitted woman, she can be pretty feisty and I love that. Elodie's character builds slowly but when it comes time for her to act she does so quickly. What started out as a moment to rule break her father's strictness is her wings unfurling. She grows as a character and a person Henley quickly finds himself wanting to protect. She bares the scars of her father's wrath inside and out. She has 2 people she can depend on. One of which is employed by her father and the other is a pen pal she has never met.
Henley is a Vice President of a motorcycle club, and is a force to be reckoned with. When something crosses his desk for the BDSM club that his MC club owns he is intrigued. Her name is Kitten.
Without giving to much away this book gets hot and stays that way. When he finds out who Kitten is and what her real name is, it is too late. He already wants her and after he spends one evening with her she is all he thinks about. Things heat up even more when he has an arranged marriage to save the girl he spent one night with.
This ends on a cliffhanger and woah....what a cliffhanger it is. I have so many questions and I have to have the next book. It left me desperate for it.

An amazing read by our amazing Lexi, she can write any BDSM and I will read it, honestly I love ber books. They are short, good plot and so spicy I just love them. And this book is all of that and more. I love Elodie & Henley story, and honestly I wish we got more on them. Lexi can you please write a 2nd book and go into more details!? 😜 i would love to know what happen after you know…. Lol…
But this book had me in my feeling, the things that our FMC goes through at the hand of her own Father is crazy and so traumatic, I cried at moments cuz it was hard to read but she meets our amazing sweet, strong sexy MC and her whole world changes. He protects her every step of the way and shows her how amazing life is when someone cares and loves you.
Pick this book up if you like reading about BDSM, love and traumatic experiences and finding your way out! ♥️

This book was good. There was nothing wrong with the actual content. The story itself was entertaining and well written. The only issue I had was that from the description I was expecting it to be dark, and for there to be many more BDSM elements than there were. Maybe there is something wrong with me, and this IS dark, but it wasn't to me. Totally possible; I read a lot of dark romance. But as far as the BDSM elements, I didn't really see them. There was the beginning where they fill out their questionnaires, but to me the sex scenes were just regular sex scenes, with the exception of one scene at the end of the book. There was also a daddy k!nk referenced, but only one scene had the FMC calling the MMC "Daddy"
I rated it 3 stars for MYSELF because it wasn't what I wanted and what I expected, but so many people will LOVE this book. Read it if you like:

Anything by Lexi Gray is going to be an immediate pick up for me and this story is no different! I really enjoyed The Red Room!
I liked our main characters, Elodie and Henley, both together and apart. Lexi did a good job making them both compelling characters with interesting stories. I couldn't believe all that Elodie allowed from her father, but I'm glad she took a chance on filling out the club's application!!! The naivety she has in the beginning really rounds out through to the end of the story and it shows her character growth really well! I also appreciated how it was noted that Henley didn't plan on taking a sub, nor did he really want to, until Elodie...which shows how special she was going to be to him.
I do think that the plot of this book had the potential to be a bit more intricate and detailed, but as a fast paced read, it didn't deter me from enjoying the story! I definitely recommend this one for those that enjoy the BDSM and biker tropes!!!

This is a new series of interconnected standalone by Lexi Gray. This story follows Elodie, an abused and shelter 23 yr old and 35 yr old Henley, VP of the Dirty Dinners MC. Elodie matches with Henley after having filled out the Drenched in Sins BDSM applicant forms sent by her mysterious friend. Little does Elodie know what would be in store for her.
The story itself was well written and kept me sucked in. Although the time skips sometimes would confused me, I was still able to keep up and enjoy the story. I love the connection between Eloide and Henley and how things developed between them. Henley is big, tattooed and intimidating, but is soft and doting to his “bunny” while also being dominant in the bedroom. I enjoyed this book and I just wished it was longer so more of the background story was developed. I can’t not wait to see what the second book is about as I felt that some breadcrumbs were left at the end of the story and I want more!
