Liria Newman's life hasn't been her own for years. Traded to Arlo 'Undertaker' Yates by her alcoholic stepfather who owed the Rebel Scorpions money, she can't remember the last time she slept without fear. After her daughter Tempest is born, she finds a way to escape his abusive clutches. When her car breaks down in the middle of nowhere Connecticut, she panics. As the sun sets, and the temperature drops, she sees lights and seeks refuge. But can the Merciless Few keep her safe when Arlo tracks her down?
Ronin 'Dagger' Locke
As several of his brothers find happiness, Dagger finds himself increasingly restless. And envious. He'd had love once, but lost it at the hands of a drunk driver, and he longed to find it again. When a petite brunette stumbles into the clubhouse and passes out, he's the one to catch her as she falls. The moment she opens her eyes and he locks onto her gray gaze, he knows he's found his second chance. But when her past shows up to haunt them, can he keep her safe, or will he lose it all before he even gets started?
Angel Nyx is an author of paranormal, and contemporary romance, romantic suspense, and post-apocalyptic romance with some why choose thrown into the mix. Her passion for literature was instilled in her at a young age when her mother read her fairy tale stories at bedtime. Her vivid imagination helps her get in tune with her characters to bring them to life for her readers. She is also a mom, a reader, and an avid gamer chick. When she's writing, reading, or gaming, she is usually relaxing to music, spending time with family, or finding new authors to fall in love with. She has a long time love affair with the city of New Orleans and plans to make it a regular vacation destination in coming years.
Liria has endured so much trauma, but she finally gets a chance to escape, landing at the Merciless Few's clubhouse and quite literally in Dagger's lap. And she's not alone. I loved how he instantly shifted into protector mode, taking care of her before he even knew what he was getting into.
Dagger had his own trauma and this romance is about his own healing as much as it is about hers. I really enjoy seeing the club members rally around each other when there's trouble, and how they take care of each other in their daily lives. I also really appreciated the beginning of a redemption arc for a character who wasn't always so likeable in the earlier books.
One of the things I like best about this author's MC books is the swift administration of justice. I know it's not at all realistic, but I love it all the same. The HEA was wonderful and I'm looking forward to reading the next in this series.
This is another great story in the Merciless Few MC series. When Liria finally manages to escape her abuser Arlo, her car breaks down in Connecticut and she is forced to seek refuge at the nearest building with lights showing. When she stumbles in the door she collapses, and Dagger catches her as she falls. Unfortunately, danger is on her tail, and she is surprised that the Merciless Few MC are willing to protect her. How Dagger helps Liria overcome her fears and trauma and deal with problems from her past makes for a wonderful story. I love how Dagger is so supportive and gives Liria a safe place to get her life back on track. This is a great series.
