I loved, loved, loved this book. It is so different that what I am use to. The heroine, Harlow, is an amazing character. I love her witty, spark filled enthusiasm for life. She is unusual, direct but not crude or confrontational. She just is very honest. I like her a lot. The hero, Cormack, is a result oriented, determined businessman. Harlow brings out the man he always wanted to be. The great thing is that Cormack thought that part of him was lost forever but it wasn't. It was amazing reading the conversion from caterpillar to butterfly. (I know that that may be a feminine analog, but I can’t think of anything else). The antagonist is Cormack's sister Clara. Clara does everything she can to demean Harlow and tries to ruin Cormack. It is never stated why. But I gather it is because of greed. But then I do wonder what was really behind her actions. Did she want to be loved like Cormack is by their family? Is it the way Cormack loves Harlow and she wishes she could find that kind of love? The story does not get into it. I wish it did. When Clara causes the breakup of Harlow and Cormack, Cormack threatens to take every financial benefit he provides her away. The story states that Cormack is going to teach Clara a lesson long overdue, but it does not specify what action he took. I would have loved been a fly on the wall when out of love Cormack gives Clara a dressing down. Then there was Cormack's grandmother, "K". Loved her character. She became ill and was in the hospital. But then the story does not tell us what happened to her after that. Her name did not come up for the rest of the story. Anyway, I gave this a four-star rating instead of five because of the loose ends. I have read two books by this author before and I love her writing style. OH YES IM IN LOVE GIVE ME MORE!!!!!
Ive been waiting for Cormack and Harlow's story after reading little bits about them through other books in the series. And I wasn't disappointed it was an amazing exciting and totally addictive story.
Cormack McGregor is a billionaire who has big dreams, he thinks he has a lot to prove where as really he has already made it. But he wants the building a bakery is on and he will do anything to get it. Even play a few dirty hands like start some bakery's in the area and make everything cheaper so She loses business. But nothing is moving this woman. So one evening He goes to the bakery himself to talk to her and see what it will take.
Harlow Murphy cant believe how bad things are going. She has staff quitting the sinking ship and bills getting bigger and bigger. Harlow doesn't know what its going to take to get back to a few moths ago when her store was a success. And to make thinks worse the sharks were out smelling the blood, A company wanted her to sell them her store, but that's not going to happen the bakery has been in their family for ages and Harlow wasn't going to fail. When she was getting a big order ready for a morning pick up she heard the door go. She could of swore she had locked it but still business is business so she goes out to see who is there. And she is totally stunned by the sexiest man alive. He is out of this world and Harlow feels electric between them. He is hoping to get the cakes that Harlow has only just started to make. oopps no chance! The banter between them is off the wall its sexy as hell.
Cormack cant believe the woman in front of him, he treats him like no one else who and he finds it exciting. there banter start a tit for tat exchange that ends up in a food fight. That leads to them nearly kissing but the door goes again and Cormack hears and watches the exchange between Levi ( one of his men) and Harlow about how she isn't selling the bakery. Cormack steps in and defends Harlow.
But what could happen if these two spend more time together??
Could Cormack over come some bad history that is stopping him from giving in and having a relationship or will all the memories be too much especially after Harlow makes a silly joke but it makes his heart stop and go ice cold?????
OMG THIS IS A FANTASTIC READ. THEIR STORY IS JUST AMAZING AND I COULDNT PUT IT DOWN. AND READ IT THROUGH OUT THE NIGHT.
I MUST LEARN TO NOT START A SHANDI BOYES BOOK BEFORE BED BECUASE I GET TOTALLY HOOKED AND THEN GET NO SLEEP LOL BUT DO I CARE NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BECAUSE IT JUST BLEW ME AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who would've thought underhanded doings would lead to love? If you're a romance reader you know it happens all the time! I loved the first interactions of Harlow and Cormack. I have to admit at first I thought they were being childish, but as I read on I realized that's exactly what they were being and I enjoyed it with them!
Our MCs have some obstacles to overcome-his fears, her fears, his witch of a sister. **And the lie that started everything.**But they overcome the obstacles and we meet (albeit briefly) some pretty cool people during their journey.
I've enjoyed this series so far, even tho I only started with Ryan's books. (They Way We Are/The Way We Were) My only complaint is that it is a bit wordy. The author is a really good story teller but there tends to be an overabundance of words at times, where a few less would suffice. And the word choices at times leave me confused.
As for the characters, Harlow is straightforward, blunt, brash, crass, and crude but she is also honest, loving and loyal. Cormack is a workaholic who doesn't take many risks due to really being burned in the past, but Harlow brings out the fun loving, gentler side of him. And he's not a player - thank the gods of romance!!
The transformation and budding relationship was fun to read about and the steamy parts were an enjoyable mix of Sugar and Spice (so bad, I know but I couldn't help it!) It was obvious from the love scenes how much he worshipped her *sigh*
Looking forward to the next and I need to find time to start this series from the beginning. It's not necessary but there are interconnecting characters, events and timelines so it helps to know what's going on. But you won't be lost if you dont. Enjoy!

Okay so a couple of things. One I love Harlow and Cormack more than anything but I think the reason it took me so long to read the whole book is I already knew the story. I mean yes we are seeing it from a different perspective but we are still seeing the same conversation and the same things happen.
That being said I wish we could have seen how Cormack told Clara she was getting everything taken from her. I would have also loved to see K at Harlow’s and Cormack’s wedding. I really appreciate seeing Cormack be the guy that is good enough for Harlow. Was it dumb of him to not tell her about the other bakery yes, but he also closed them down because he loved her.
Harlow is just my sweet little angel that deserves no harm. I loved watching her interact with K and would have love to see their relationship grow more. I also would have like to see her reaction to finding out Isabelle was in the FBI as that was kind of overlooked in this book. Yes we see it in Enigma but that is one thing I was excited to see from both Harlow’s and Cormack’s POV. which I am grateful we got to see Cormack finding out. Though that kind of messes with him not believing that Harlow knew the whole time.
Over all I think it’s a good book I just think the order of how the books should be read is a little messed up.

Loved this Book
Shandi doesn't disappoint once again. 😍
We go back to Ravenshoe for Harlow and Cormack's journey. I say journey because this story has it all. Humour, tears, passion and let's not forget angst in the form of Clara. I really want to slap her!!!!
We also have more cheeky moments with Cormack's brother who appeared in Isaac and Issy's story too.
Harlow is down to earth and relatable. Strong and independent. You want nothing but to root for her. Cormack is structured and always has everything planned. He just didn't plan on Harlow. It doesn't hurt the man is simply put....drool worthy too!!! 🤤
Harlow brings something carefree out that Cormack can't resist. Their antics had me laughing out loud.
They come from two completely different worlds. Harlow a struggling baker. Cormack a wealthy businessman but they fit together so perfectly. And when they reach the bedroom, let's just say 'Ohhhh boy!'
Even though the attraction is off the charts what happens when the real reason he entered Harlow's bakery is revealed???

A gap book
A little disappointed by this book.
First, the editing problems. A pet peeve of mine. If I could, I would be marking the book up as I read to remove the stray prepositions, correct the noun/been agreement, and fix the typos.
Second, this book seemed very much like a book to fill in some gaps between earlier books. I have read the entire series except the Russian mafia branch, but I had to search my memory for some of the references. Putting the plot into the content and the timeline of the series was a struggle sometimes, but by the end I think I understood.
I get that this book was not intended as a standalone, but I was looking forward to Cormack's story. In the first books of the Enigma series, Cormack and Isaac were a team. I really thought that Cormack would be a more prominent character throughout the series.
In the first books, Cormack hooked up with a woman who later disappeared from the plot. I kept wondering through this book especially if that woman was Harlow but I can't remember her name.
All in all, Sugar and Spice was well worth reading, and I loved the characters and their romance.

Ok so if it wasn’t the week leading up to Christmas when everything is crazy busy, I would of liked to think this book would of been devoured in one sitting!!!

Their story was so refreshing to read! The banter between the two will have you laughing out loud, it’s real and it’s chaotic but it fits these two characters perfectly !!!
The passion is hot, fast and you are in for a ride as these two finally get to the bedroom!
But lies and Consequences will cause tension and could the lies possibly ruin the chance of their fairytale???

He won't get her bakery but he will get her goodies
Sugar and Spice: And All Things Nice. . . is part of the Enigma series and is the story of Harlow and Cormack. I have read some of the previous books but not all in the series but this books works as a standalone. However, there were a number of little side roads that were taken during this story that I was not sure about as they did not seem to fit into the overall story-line and did not add anything to it. But I am thinking these are setting up future books in the series.
Harlow and Cormack have an interesting journey to their relationship with ups and downs between them. She is strong-willed, nothing wrong with that, and there are some things she will not be moved on, which Cormack finds out on their first meeting. But they have a strong attraction which helps them get through some drama that other people in their lives cause.
Overall I liked this story and the journey that Harlow and Cormack's relationship took. There were some things that I rolled my eyes about but that did not stop me from continuing.

She is strong-willed, nothing wrong with that, and there are some things she will not be moved on, which Cormack finds out on their first meeting. But they have a strong attraction which helps them get through some drama that other people in their lives cause.
Overall I liked this story and the journey that Harlow and Cormack's relationship took. There were some things that I rolled my eyes about but that did not stop me from continuing.

Very well built and exciting story, and all of that with simplicity

They are very attracted, but she does not know that he is the instigator of the destruction of her business, in order to be able to enlarge his business. The more he tries to forget her in order to succeed, the more she reminds him that she exists and that something is missing in his life. Now Harlow does this pridely, putting him face to face with his errors, but she still doesn't know that he is the one who wanted her property and between their social gap, family pressures and Cormack's past, their story is complicated.

“Being male is a matter of birth, being a man is a matter of age, but being a gentleman is a matter of choice.” Cormack McGregor had me falling in love with him during the first chapter but my goodness I’m head over heels, madly deeply, truly swooning over him after reading Sugar & Spice! Harlow is everything a girl dreams of being, the perfect amount of sugar and sass and a personality that everyone is drawn to. Their story is the perfect blend of ups and down and growing up differently. Their story will make you laugh, cry, and fall in love multiple times over. I have loved all of Shandi’s books but I am certain this one holds my top spot and Cormack is the man to whom all other book boyfriends must measure up too. I couldn’t even put this book down once I started and I believe everyone should add this to their reading list!!!

Cormack is very determine to get what he wants and that means putting Harlow out of business. Sparks fly between them every time Cormack ad Harlow are within a few feet of one another. Harlow never really knows what Cormack is up to until they are involved. When she discovers his secret will she be able to forgive him? Can Cormack show her that by meeting her she changed him?
This is a great story that will captivate you from beginning to end. The chemistry between them is off the charts hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

I have been waiting for their story since i read isaac's books. And it was absolutely incredible, its always amazing to finally see the other side of a person after seeing them from only other people's perspectives. And i loved finally getting to see just how harlow and cormack are together. And i personally got a kick out of finding out exactly what all Clara did to get cut off from the family money, not that it was a major point but after reading all their books, and i did absolutely enjoy clara and brax, i really wanted to know exactly what she did since her siblings all seem really great so i knee she had to have done alot of crap to piss him off so much. Anyway, go enjoy this and im gonna reread it!!!!!!

Sugar and spice
Aww this book absolutely gives you all the feels you will be laughing, crying, cringing and shouting at numerous points through the entire book.
What a strong willed powerful woman Emerie is this is what female leads should be like refuses to bow down for money or power she stands for her beliefs and doesn't waver and I love her!!
I love Cormack too, a few really big mistakes he made early on nearly ended everything but thankfully he made things right after alot of work on his part.
Clara!!! That girl I know I have read her and Brax's story and she redeemed herself but omg if I was Emerie I would have killed her what Cormack done was absolutely justified and it 100% made her a better person for it.
Next up is Regan and you just know her books are going to be fire.

Shandi Boyes has been teasing us with bits while she's been writing this and once again the final product does not disappoint.
We met Harlow as Izzy's best friend and had a small taste of her relationship with Cormack, in the first four installments of the Enigma series.
It is great to finally have their story. Although the characters are softer, their integrity and their strength of 'character' had me spellbound and hooked.
Although it was clear that Cormack's secret had to come out at some stage, it did not diminish the story.
If you have not read any of the other books, but enjoy a good love story with plenty of sexual tension this is a book for you. If you know the series you will not want to miss this latest installment. Another 💎 by this author.

Loved this book...
This is another great story by Shandi Boyes. I was thrilled to read about the good-looking billionaire Cormack and Harlow, the beautiful baker. Cormack is a self-made billionaire who wants to buy up Harlow's bakery and the surrounding area that is until he sees Harlow. Then it becomes a secret that he wanted to buy her bakery and take over the neighborhood for his business. Now he wants her. It's a beautiful love story full of romance, sex, and deceit. Harlow has a great sense of humor and witty mouth but is often faced with Cormack's evil sister who is determined this romance will not happen. I highly recommend this book!

The chemistry between Harlow and Carmack is ecstatic. Harlow is trying to stay afloat in her business and her life. Carmack wants buy her out so he can expand his business. When he meets her the first time sparks fly. He never tells her why he is there. That puts him in a rock and a hard place. Now he is falling for the one person that can stop his college dreams from coming true. Though he now knows what her dreams are and he doesn’t want to crush hers. So Carmack is in a dilemma. Does he tell Harlow or does he sweep it under the rug? Of course Clara causes some drama between them. What will become of them and that spicy chemistry?

Insanely Excellent Writing!!!
Insanely excellent writing!!! Ms Boyes writing evokes great outbursts of laughter by the reader. As well, she enamours her reader with such a sweet story, that once they start this novel, it does not leave the reader's hands until the ending of the story. The repartee between characters, particularly those between the main male andfemale characters, is absolute fantastic; witty par excellence! There are also a number of great idioms generously interspersed throughout this story.
I must admit this is the first time reading Ms Boyes' work but it certainly will not be my last. Alas, I fear, I have fallen in love with her manipulation of words. Superb!!!

We get glimpses of Cormack throughout the series of Perception and Isaacs/Izzy and a brief mention in his sister Clara's story with Brax. there have been hints but now we get the full story. Harlow and Cormack start off in a silly and immature meeting that will make you smile and shake your head. She is a strong willed, independent woman. she is down to earth and sweet. croamck is rich and from a completely different place than Harlow However does not think he is better than her. She makes him a better man. Their romance is filled with opposition, secrets and insecurities. Laughter, stubbornness and a whole lot of love pull them through.

Corrmack and Harlow’s story was awesome. Perfect couple just like Isaac and Izzy from Enigma. She is a baker, struggling to keep her family business afloat, she is beautiful, strong, fiercely independent, compassionate, funny, stubborn and prideful. He is a billionaire, emotionally closed off, brilliant, swoon worthy, a business shark, doesn’t trust easily but above everything else he is human and a great guy. He has plans to expand his business and Harlow has the last piece he needs to achieve his dreams. He meets her, gets swept off his feet, falls in love with her and changes course but makes some grave errors in between. She doesn’t think anything can come between them as their love is out of a fairy tale. She is wrong but they do get their HEA in the end. You’ll get angst galore in this book, lots of lol moments, family drama, swoon worth moments, spice, everything you are looking for really.

Sugar and Spice is the story of Harlow and Cormack continued from the Enigma series. I was so excited to see their story play out. Harlow has such a spunky personality and Cormack is so much more than just a super hot business man. I loved how this book went back to the beginning so we got to see few glimpses of Izzy and Isaac from another perspective. I had forgotten how much of a witch Clara was and I was happy to see from Cormack's side of why she was cut off. This book was very well written and is one of Shandi Boyes best yet.

I loved this easy to read entertaining romance between lovely loyal Harlow and confidently sensitive Cormack. This Baker and the Billionaire romance was sweet, upbeat, funny and steamy.
I liked the way the author develops the main couple and has Cormack loving everything about Harlow, especially the quirky, spunky parts. I loved their chemistry and camaraderie along with their witty dialogue and connection.

Fantastic
One of the things that I love about this author is how her stories always touch upon a time in a previous book where it was just a backdrop to that story. It reminds me of a picture blurred out until the focus needs to be placed back on those particular characters. This was especially true with Cormack and Harlow. Even though I'd "met" Carla, his sister, in Brax's book this give me insight into how it all came about.
This series is so good. I really need more people to discover it because it has been one of my favorites in the past year.

Crazy, juvenile, deceitful & hot
This book started out entirely to juvenile for me. I thought, "why am I even reading such a stupid book". Then it got a little more interesting but random weird parts of the story just pop up with no explanation as if to help with the next book. Then the big upset with the page filler I hate where someone runs off, the someone calls and the other one doesn't answer for hours. The plot was good and there was definite chemistry but more like YA then Contemporary. Ok read.

Another great read in this author's library. Harlow is a baker and she lives her life as if there is no tomorrow with no regrets. So when the sexy, billionaire, Cormack walks in for his six dozen cupcakes and walks out with more, well she anticipates he will be back. Cormack wants a second helping of Harlow but he comes with secrets that could ruin their current sweetness. A well written story, full of details, ties, humour and of course, steaminess. Enjoy!
