Fate of Helheim

Anais Sutton stopped believing in God years ago, but at twenty-six, she never considered there might be multiple gods. That is, until Magni Thorson appears in town. While pursuing her affections, he claims he’s a Norse god who can whisk her away across realms—and he’s got the magic to back up his claim.

Arriving in Asgard is just as magical as Anais hoped it would be, but strange warnings from Mag’s jealous cousins linger in her mind. Soon, it becomes clear the handsome god has ulterior motives. Anais finds herself at the center of a divine power struggle, and the only way out is to go through Hell.

Fantastic debut from my tattoo artist, Belle! This felt like such a love letter to fantasy and I enjoyed it so much. I love myself a good Norse mythology story and a sassy fmc. Can’t wait to read the next one!

I never write reviews but I haven’t had that much fun reading a book in a long time. If I didn’t have to work or sleep I can confidently say I would have finished this in one sitting.

I am BLOWN AWAY that this is a debut novel.
Relatable characters with realistic motives, an intriguing fast paced plot that constantly has you wanting more, and a beautiful Norse mythology inspired world. It’s truly everything I could ask for in a book!

The modern references made me crack up more than once, and really solidified how an average fantasy reader would react in the insane settings we yearn for.

The only downside is how long I’ll have to wait to be able to reenter this world. If I could preorder the sequel today, I would!!

If you’re tired of “pick-me” heroines, READ THIS! The world building and Norse mythology is so solid, but what really drew me in was the FMC Anais. She is so relatable as a woman in her 20s, trying to figure herself out. When we meet Anais, she’s got religious trauma with her family, is annoyed by her casual hookup, and adores the “broke trash” home decor aesthetic we’ve all been through. Anais is the type of character you want to grab a drink with, which makes her journey into the supernatural unknown that much more exciting and accessible. So excited for the sequel!

I absolutely flew through this book. Could not put it down! With enough humor to balance out the darker parts, and Anais's plucky, sassy nature, the author carries us through a captivating storyline. This author did a fantastic job with their debut novel, and I can't wait to see what else they come up with!
