Perfect for when you want a quick & steamy short read...

Aiden
My fiancé left me shattered at the altar, taking my business and my heart with him. Desperate for an escape, I head to my friend's luxurious mountain house, hoping to find solace in nature.
But a violent thunderstorm sends my car into a ditch, leaving me stranded and vulnerable. Rescued by Hunter, a rugged and enigmatic mountain man, I find myself at the mercy of both the storm and my unexpected savior.

Hunter
My past looms over me like a dark shadow. Ten years ago tonight, I lost my girlfriend to a car accident in the mountains. So when I see another car skidding off the road through my cabin window, I think I've lost my mind.
The man I rescue—Aiden Fox—might look like an angel, but he certainly isn't one. And while the summer thunderstorms rage outside the mountain house, a different kind of storm is emerging between us.

Summer storm does exactly what it says on the back: a quick, steamy short read with the added benefit of having MCs who are snowed (stormed?) in and in need of some TLC.

It seems I’m slowly (and somewhat unintentionally) making my way through Jenny Pineapple’s shorts and I’m not mad at it!

This was well written, well edited and didn’t feel rushed at all.

Expect
- Forced proximity
- Age gap
- Brother’s best friend
- Grumpy x sunshine

Aiden + Hunter
Strangers | They save each other emotionally

This book was short (78 pages). I struggled at first to feel the connection between the MCs and I'm not sure it ever fully got there for me by the end of it. It is definitely possibly to achieve that in such a short book but this just missed that mark a bit. There was also a question left unanswered for me (see below). It was however cute and entertaining enough for the read.

"Thank you."
"For what?"
"For saving me. In more ways than one."

⚠️potential spoilers below in detailed tropes, content and warning lists

Tropes/content:
Strangers - they meet when Hunter saves him after sliding off the road
Best friends brother
Cabin
Swimming
Walks in on him jacking off because he heard his name called out. Sticks around
"Baby"
Basically insta love
Rimming
Strict roles on page
HEA
Quick epilogue 1 year later where they're engaged
Hunter gets closure with his dead girlfriend where they both go to her grave, Hunter introduces Aiden then says bye

Warnings:
Aiden gets left at the alter before the book starts, putting him on the road (literally) to Hunter
Car accident from sliding off the road in a storm (on page - no injuries)
Car accident (off page in the past - resulting in death of Hunters girlfriend)
Unanswered question - not a big deal but given the fact that Hunter previously had a girlfriend who died, was Aiden his awakening? Was he already bi? We never got that answer. Given the fact that he didnt seem inexperienced I'm guessing bi. But I would have liked that to be cleared up.

This was so not the story that I was expecting it to be. I thought it was going to be a down and dirty MM romance filled with nothing but sexy times. While there were a lot of on page scenes, that were smoldering hot, there were also deeply hurting souls that needed to be healed, both from their own demons of their pasts. They find solace in one another and together work towards healing those wounds and along the way find love. It ending up being a moving tale that touched me deeply and even brought a tear to my eye in that final epilogue scene.

Summer storms have never been a favourite of mine. Yes, it is nice to have an excuse to snuggle up inside but I really don't like all that thunder. What I do like, very much however, is any excuse to curl up in bed with a good book and that is exactly what I did with 'Summer Storms.' I adored it. It is a story that speaks to the heart, that shows us love can be immediate and all consuming and that it can heal past hurts. It is also incredibly sexy and erotic!

Aiden was left standing at the altar by a text message... His husband to be backed out at the last minute, told home by text and nearly ruined the start-up tech company they had founded together. Fortunately Aiden has a good friend who has suggested a weekend away in his family's mountain lodge. Unfortunately Aiden gets caught in the storm, his car in a ditch.

Hunter has been living in his mountain lodge, hiding from the world for ten years. He has distanced himself from family and friends, thrown himself into his guiding job and told himself he is happy. When he sees Aiden's car go into the ditch he knows he has to help. In that exact spot, ten years to the day, his then girlfriend was killed by a car accident.

What neither man realises is this may have been fate. Hunter quickly learns that Aiden is friends with his brother but, not wanting to bring that up, wanting Aiden to know him and vice versa he stays quiet. When Aiden learns the truth, only the next morning, they have already had a passionate night and have feelings but can Aiden overcome the sense of betrayal and can Hunter open himself up to the possibility of love once more?

An utterly absorbing story, of hurt, comfort, love, passion and finding your soulmate. I did shed a tear because the Epilogue is so utterly beautiful and heartfelt and this is very much a book to read, to take to heart and to keep for re-reading. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

OMG, this book took my heart
I have got to admit for such a short read, this book, certainly packs a punch. Aidan who had been left at the altar his fiancé sending a text to cancel their life anfter taking everything! All Aidan wanted to do was get away. Thankfully, his friend Leo said that he had a house in the mountains where he could take some space. On the ride, there was violent thunderstorms which left Aiden crashed with no phone signal. He really didn’t know what to do until he saw a man walking towards him.
It has been 10 years since Hunter had lost his girlfriend in a car crash on this very mountain, so when he sees a car end up in the ditch, the exact same ditch, he thought his mind was playing tricks on him, but he knew he had to check and this is how he met Aiden. He just like the solitude, but something happened when he met Aiden. And as he made it to the house that Aidan was staying at, they decided it was best that Hunter stayed out of the storm too.
This is a very emotional read. These guys both have issues to overcome, but can they fight the attraction that is between them? Because the passion they share is off the charts
A very good read throughly enjoyed and can’t wait for the next book.

'Hunter's eyes lock with mine. "Your pain doesn't become less valid because others went through something worse. It's your pain. But the mountains help find a kind of peace. They helped me. I'm sure they'll help you, too."

I really enjoyed this book. The story was interesting from the start and I was almost immediately hooked. I loved both Aiden and Hunter. Both fighting their own demons- Aiden from being left at the alter by his fiancé who broke things off with a text and stole the money from their business, and Hunter who lost his girlfriend in a car crash. So when Hunter happens to see a car crash in a storm in the same spot and on the same day as his girlfriend's death ten years later, he immediately rushes out to try and help whomever was in the car and hoped this time he wasn't too late.

I liked how they opened up to each other about their losses. The chemistry between them growing stronger the more time they spent together. A very fun read. I wish it was longer.

This is the first book I've read by this author and I will be reading more. 5 stars.

When someone breaks your heart and takes everything from you how do you start to rebuild? Aiden's friend lends him the family cabin in the mountains after his fiancé leaves him at the alter after stealing all the funds from their shared business.
When the journey to the cabin ends in a car accident and Aiden is rescued by Hunter who has been hiding in the mountains for 10 years following his own tragic loss maybe this is the start of something special that will bring them both back to life.
This is a really beautiful short story about how to embrace love when you've been broken and how the right person can change everything.

I know it’s described as “spicy”, but just when you think they’re done having sex, it starts all over again, 3 pages later. For reference, the whole story is 77 pages, and they’ve already engaged in sex acts multiple times before. This happens in a span of 24 hours, after which Hunter is ready to overhaul his whole life for someone he met a day ago. It’s a shame, because I really enjoyed the first half or so.

3/5 stars.

4/5⭐️, this was such a refreshing read.

I really appreciated that Hunter and Aiden didn’t beat around the bush. When they had a disagreement, they talked about it like adults and apologized right away. Oh, don’t we love mature men.

And the SMUTTTT!! Thank you for the meal, I was fed very well.

Another short but lovely tale from this author. Here we have two young men who have both suffered painful loss, their accidental meeting brings on a profound change to both, and a kind of reawakening. A sometimes sad but touching read.

I think this was a nice short story for what it is. Aka mostly spicy with no much thought to the plot. I liked the two characters just wish it didn’t progress into life altering moments after a night spent together. The spice was good though.

3.5⭐️It’s OK, but in a story this short, less emotional ambition and more truly hot sex should have been the priority, as advertised in the title.

Absurd instalove, with promises to make changes to his solitary lifestyle and reconnect with the world after only 24 hours together.

Hot sex though.

As an erotica, not half bad, as a romance: trite.
