i love how slow burn and subtle the romance between the fl and ml is. we need more stories like this.

Was I supposed to feel sympathy for the prince? Yeah yeah, he's bound to orders just like everyone. Boo hoo. If he tries what the king wants then there is no redeeming him whatsoever. Here's hoping Eris and Anakhin run off into the sunset together. Jason felt like an awkward creeper, and the priest is still lurking around somewhere but not in this volume. Shitty family all round and bound threads. Feel a little sorry for Helena when she questioned if her feelings mattered. Tense feeling throughout but some romantic moments.

Book 3 was so good and the story was getting so much better and now book 4 was such a drag again? I feel like Eris was completely different again and I still don't get her motives? What is her real goal and why is she so cruel?

Things get more interesting with the cursed engagement. The FMC's relationship with her knight Anahkin remains the most interesting and sweet to me. This ends on a cliffhanger in which I hope the crown prince isn't the worst kind of man he could be.

Adoro il personaggio di Eris: non le manda a dire e, un po' in stile Panzer tedesco, non ha alcuna intenzione di fare buon viso a cattivo gioco solo per compiacere gli altri o proteggere i loro sentimenti. Soprattutto se si tratta di gente che lei non tollera, tipo quel cretino del principe o quell'altro scemo del suo amico, Jason - quest'ultimo poi ha anche la grande idea di presentarsi come eroe chiamato a proteggere l'onore di Eris, quando scopre che Alec si farà accompagnare da Helena a un ballo...peccato solo che Eris abbia gestito tutta la faccenda da dietro le quinte. Ha istruito Helena, forte anche del sostegno dell'imperatrice (una serie di lezioni concepite non solo per insegnare alla ragazza delle competenze particolari, ma anche per plasmarne il carattere, per aiutarla a sviluppare una personalità tale da poter sopravvivere in un luogo tremendo come la corte), non vede l'ora di non avere più niente a che fare con certa gente, fregandosene bellamente del giudizio altrui (e infatti si presenterà al ballo accompagnata da Anakhin). Il problema è che il volume si chiude con l'ordine che l'imperatore rivolge a suo figlio Alec: Helena va bene come concubina, ma Eris non può allontanarsi dalla famiglia imperiale. Ergo, Alec dovrà andarci a letto insieme (con la forza, se necessario) e magari riuscire a concepire subito un erede. La famiglia Miserian è troppo importante, il marchese va tenuto sotto controllo e quindi Eris non può tagliare la corda. Adesso attenderò con ansia l'uscita del volume 5 a febbraio per vedere cosa pensa di fare il cretino...

Punto forte del volume sono le interazioni tra Eris e Anakhin - il secondo è praticamente l'unica persona totalmente dalla parte della protagonista, ha piena fiducia in lei e non la tradirebbe mai. Il sentimento c'è, però resta comunque il fatto che i due sono chiamati a separarsi, una volta che Eris sarà tornata nel suo mondo. È giusto lasciarsi andare a queste emozioni? Cosa ne sarà di Anakhin una volta scomparsa Eris? Diciamo che la protagonista è una tosta, però non è facile muoversi in un mondo in cui la gente ti giudica per le azioni commesse da tuo padre e in cui sei sempre costretta a nasconderti dietro una maschera. Ricordiamo sempre che la Eris originale è arrivata al punto di desiderare di sparire. Adesso è giunto di togliersi qualche soddisfazione.

Wow, so Emma had known Medea even longer than Eris had. As mentioned in my previous review, Medea is the true MVP of this story because Emma couldn’t have gotten her revenge on everyone who had made the original Eris sad without Medea’s help. After we got Emma’s POV at the beginning of the story, she stayed in the background helping and serving Eris, so it was good to read her POV again in the epilogue. Eris was so loved by Emma, and even though Emma knew that someone else’s soul had occupied Eris’s body, she still continued doing her best to serve and help them.

We also got Anakhin’s POV and I was glad when I read that he and Eris could create their own happy ending in the real world together. Anakhin is the only normal male character in the story, and his complete love and devotion for Eris is commendable. He had no name and purpose before meeting Eris, so he was more than willing to give his heart and life to his master. Absolutely peak relationship dynamic honestly.

UGGGHHHH The prince is so fucking shitty. He can cheat openly and let his fiance AND supposed love be bullied, mocked by everyone but he can't grow a spine of face his shithole of a dad. Jason is starting to tick me off too like do you not understand the simple words NO.

I'm starting to like Helena now. She has her morals straight and it's not like she is in an place of any knd of authority. Honestly this story is less about fantasy and more about how women suffer when you let batshit crazy men rule.

Uh, passiert ja mal wieder richtig viel! Wird meiner Meinung nach von Kapitel zu Kapitel spannender und interessanter.
Man bekommt Einblicke in die Vergangenheit eines Charakters, außerdem lernt man Helena etwas mehr kennen. Ebenso wird sich Eris ihrer eigenen Gefühle bewusster und Anakin bekommt immer mehr Tiefe mit einem mysteriösen Touch. Bei anderen Personen bin ich mir noch unsicher, was in ihren Köpfen vorgeht, aber es verspricht weiterhin sehr spannend zu bleiben. Freu mich schon auf den nächsten Band!

Me gusto mucho, disfrute mi lectura y me encantó ver como nuestra Eris ponía a todos en su lugar, también me gusto como mejoro su trato con Helena y que no se dejara usar como trapo de lágrima por el pelirrojo y el ver cómo avanzó su relacion con Anakin fue muy bonitoo 🥺, aunque al principio si se me hacía algo forzado pq sentía que faltaba integración y opiniones de parte de Anakin, pero bueno, poco a poco me va gustando más su relación 🤭 y este tomo acabó muy bien desde mi punto de vista y me dejo super intrigada, ya quiero ver que pasa en el siguiente tomo 😰.

Eris isn’t as likable as she was in the first two volumes, like how she dismisses Helena even when she tries to stand up for herself. Also Eris and Anakhin’s relationship revolving around her being master isn’t working for me. I liked how the dress maker’s backstory was brought in, and some of the lessons for Helena. I didn’t approve of the overall the interaction with Jason, and the ending where the King tells prince Alec to get Eris with child … hence this mark the end of where I read this series.

En resumen: es una historia "TRÁGICA". Todo los personajes como que están medio mal, mentalmente  hablando.

Y aunque la historia termina "bien" como la cosa fue muy trágica en el mal sentido del contexto, tipo... NO

La ilustración es muy bonita, es adictiva pero para mi le falto más, como que a los personajes les faltaba personalidad y no simplemente las emociones negativas, vacías y trágicas que se ve en todo el contenido.

Holy cow! The story is going absolutely wild now, it's almost as if crazy machinations are going out of control and the main character is just done with trying to do anything other than what she really just wants to do. I think the story of the "original novel" is completely off the rails and we'll have a very hard time going back to what it's supposed to be. I'm not even sure what the cruel Prince is going to do now. His father's worse than him but he's still pretty awful.

Eris advances her plots and has to teach Helena, who at one point asks her why she thinks she loves the prince.

It involves Eris's dress-maker and her backstory, Eris's chosen escort to the ball, questions of whether she will be pities, and more. Including quite a twist at the end.
