Detective Kate Rosetti is at the top of her career. She’s catching bad guys, thwarting crooks, and putting murderers behind bars. Not to mention, she’s finally in a committed relationship with her billionaire boyfriend. Kate’s next case is sure to be edgy and dangerous, filled with media attention… and located at a nursing home?

When a family friend is found dead in his bed, an autopsy is ordered, and lo and behold—the cause of his death wasn’t so natural after all. At the same time, Jack Russo is knee-deep in a huge federal case that’s bled into the Twin Cities. When he asks Kate for help, she’s reluctant because it will not only put her in danger, but Alastair Gem as well.

As the two cases wind their way to dangerous conclusions, Kate needs to put handcuffs on the men, or women, responsible before it’s too late. Otherwise, she won’t be the only one getting she could lose the people she loves the most.

What is this? Is Kate Rosetti letting her human show? (If you know Kate, you'll understand.) ;) Another interesting mystery that started out questionable. (Not the writing, but the crime.) One of the things about this series (or more specifically, this author) that I really like, is the thought process of the Protagonist. Some of the things she thinks of, in regards to the investigation, are things I don't even think of, and don't often see in these cozy type of books. Little things, like where a person might be hiding, or what to look for when questioning people. Very smart with the intricacies of the crime itself. The characters themselves feel real. They don't feel like characters in a book. (Well, there may be a few characters who are a little more out there. lol) I'm really loving how Kate is evolving, but as a detective and also as a romantic interest. This book was a little more lovey dovey than past books. Kate's allowing herself to love and be loved. Actually showing her emotions. There were even a couple teary eye moments. The way the storyline is headed, I feel the author may be repairing us for the end of the series. :( As always, this book is brilliantly written, easy and quick to read. Safe for teens and up.

Wes’s uncle has died and Jimmy goes undercover in an old folks home to investigate.
Gem is also helping Jack out in a federal case which means that Kate is awash in family troubles.
She can handle it!
This series is an example of one that hasn’t gone stale as it goes on. This is book # 12 and it’s just as crisp as the first book.
The writer has done a good job of developing her characters along the way.
Glad that Kate & Gem's relationship has advanced. I hope Jack will be able to find someone in an upcoming book too.
Another good one with an interesting mystery, humor & great characters.

Can’t wait to find out what awaits Kate in the next book.

My thanks to the writer for an ARC preview of the book.

Kate is settled into a relationship. Finally her family seems safe and her ex is now a productive part of the crime fighting society in that part of the world. A an old man dies, and he’s part of the family and we want to get down to the bottom of why. The bulk of the story takes place in a senior home. It moves quickly and of course there is a gangster floating around on the outis-sphere of the story. Jimmy has proven to be one interesting funny character. Part of me wants to know more about him, and the other part of me wants them to leave him exactly the way he is so we can enjoy him. Overall this was a good one.

I didn't think this series could get any better but I was wrong. I like everything about this book and I hope there will be more and this isn't the end.

Gina LaManna maintains a quick pace balanced with tension and humor throughout Dime a Dozen. I've read a few Detective Kate Rosetti Mystery books, and this one is my favorite so far. Rosetti unravels a mystery at a nursing home. LaManna skillfully includes interesting characters and builds the suspense.

Excerpt: (Kate’s thoughts) “Maybe Jimmy was right and I was really truly becoming a human with feelings. I hated when he was right.”

I wonder if there will be a Book 13? Gina? I’ll be waiting with baited breath because I’d love to know if Gem proposed to Kate and what gender Jane’s baby is - I think it’s a girl.

I also truly love the newest character, Bonnie, My Girl Friday. Bonnie for the win in her red convertible! Talk about a tiny ball of tough! She definitely has a backstory I’d like to read about.

I’m glad Jimmy got a “mini vacation”, at last, considering being Kate’s partner causes much stress and near death experiences. Lol. Heck, maybe he’ll actually retire. Finally.

Russo - the next books of this series (if there will be any) should have him settling down with someone special.

I like how Kate grew throughout this 12-book series. She started out as cold and distant, but slowly the ice around her heart began melting until she finally separated work from her personal life. She started out in Book 1 married to her job. Then as the cases went by that she helped solve and she dated two very different types of men, she was able to discover what was most important to her. It wasn’t work. She finally put her own peaceful peace of mind above all else. And Gem.

Another great series by LaManna! Oh, if you liked this style of writing and the characters, make sure to read LaManna’s Lacey Luzzi Mafia Mysteries series, too. Book 1 is titled, “Sprinkled.” In fact, one of the books in this series is a crossover to the Luzzi family.

My next book choice is “Christmas in the Candlelight” by Kathi Daley. It’s book 25 from the series The Inn at Holiday Bay. Very good series, by the way. It’s a small town cozy mystery series. It’s a great palette cleanser after Kate Rosetti and her badazzery. It’s definitely more laid back and relaxed and more like mysteries as opposed to tons of action packed crazy with Kate’s reads. 🤪

Deuces to your cabooses!

I was grabbed from the very beginning and I just couldn't put the book down. If you like books that have murder, bribery, embezzlement, money laundering, fraud and kidnapping all mixed up together with some humor, then this is definitely the book for you! We begin the adventure with Kate's brother-in-law, Wes asking Kate and he partner, Jimmy to look into the death of his uncle in the nursing home. He feels the death is very suspicious. Agreed to look into it, Kate and Jimmy go to the nursing home and something in Kate's gut just doesn't feel right. After the autopsy, we find Wes' uncle was indeed murdered. This begins a deep investigation where Jimmy goes under cover. At the same time, Jack Russo is on a big FBI case and needs someone with Kate's millionaire boyfriend, Gem's status to help trap Jesse the big kahuna in crime. Kate has very bad feelings about this and doesn't want Gem to do it. Well, things go absolutely crazy between the two cases with unbelievable results. I love the banter between Jimmy and Kate, the absolute adoration and love between Gem and Kate and her sarcastic wit when talking to Russo. I just couldn't put this down. I can't wait to see what Kate will face next with Gem and her friends by her side. I received and ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here was strictly my own.

Dime A Dozen the new Kate Rosetti mystery by Gina Lamanna is an incredible new chapter in Rosetti’s life and brings lots of drama and a few dead bodies for her and Jimmy and Jack Russo investigate.

There are two cases, one local and one high profile FBI case that Kate’s lover millionaire Gem gets involved in, thanks to Jack, and Kate is furious.

Two cars get blown up, one of which is Kate’s, and luckily too much coffee necessitates a bathroom break and she’s not in the car when that happens.

She and Gem get closer after that and move towards a possible happily ever after.

Meanwhile a criminal money laundering enterprise still needs to be taken down and the mastermind is trying to flee the country after fleecing poor nursing home residents of millions of dollars.

The man also appears to have murdered the uncle of Kate’s pregnant sister Jane’s husband Wes who is Gem’s best friend.

Jimmy who is Kate’s partner goes uncover at the nursing home but gets kidnapped.

What will the outcome of all this craziness and love be?

Read this wonderful story to see.

This series is what I consider lite (chick lit) reading. A quick read, an ok story and something easy in between some of the more complicated thrillers or mysteries.

It seems to be a slow murder week for Kate- why else would she agree to look into her brother-in-laws(Wes) uncles' death at a nursing home. Turns out he was right and Kate & partner Jimmy meet some fun new characters- including Jimmy doing a stint undercover at the place for intel (seems he really gets into it -free food, card games, etc).

Meanwhile new boyfriend Gem is talked into a sting by old boyfriend FBI Agent Russo -against Kate's better judgement and she was right. Don't want to give too much away on this storyline BUT I find it strange that these three can work together (ex and current BF).

Better than a few of the last books of the series

Detective Kate Rosetti is asked to check out a suspicious nursing home death of a family friend. The death turns out not to be natural causes and Kate's partner Jimmy goes undercover at the nursing home to try to discover who the murderer is. Meanwhile, Kate's boyfriend Gem is asked to wear a wire and meet with someone the Feds have their sights on.

I am so glad Kate finally picked her man. I love her and Gem together. Now, if only he will pop the question......and she will say yes. But I digress. As always, Kate & Jimmy's banter was delightful and the suspense lasted up until almost the very end. I really like the addition of Gem's new assistant. I look forward to seeing a lot more of her in the future books!

4.5*s
This is probably the best book in the series but you have to read the past books to know the characters and their relationships. There is plenty of action, mystery and the swoony billionaire Gem. The story in present time but Kate and Gem remind me a bit of Lieutenant Eve Dallas and Roarke light.
The stories and murders are not as gritty but there is the same feeling I get from Gem and Roarke toward their love interests who are both cops and committed to their jobs.
So if you enjoy a mystery with couples but don't want all the gore you get with J D Robb's Dallas and Roarke try this series! Or the Samantha Jellicoe books by Suzanne Enoch.

Another Great Kate Rosetti Book!

Each time I finish a book in this series I wonder how Gina LaManna is going to top it because it was so good. Then a new book comes out & I realize she can top it! This book has everything; murder, intrigue, heart stopping moments, & love. Make sure you put aside some time to read this because you are not going to want to put it down! I stayed up till 1:00 am to finish it! “BonBon” is my new favorite character btw. Hope to see more of her going forward.

Another winner

Kate Rosetta mysteries are the best! It is so good to see and hear through her own words that she is happy and able to consider a future. I love Kate and Gem as a couple. I !ove that she can continue to work with Joe. Thank you for the addition of Bonnie. And the visual of Jimmy at Sunset Acres and in a Speedo -- too much. I love when a new Kate Rosetta book comes out, but I hate that I read them so quickly. They truly leave you wanting for more .

I was eagerly awaiting the next instalment for Detective Kate Rossetti, so I was so pleased to read Dime A Dozen, which lived up to my high expectations and I really felt the evolution of Kate’s journey and emotional growth. This is an incredible chapter in her adventures and delivers the mystery, intrigue, chemistry and drama, as well as a few dead bodies to investigate.

I loved this book - thank you!

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this week.

Another fabulous Kate Rosetti story filled with excitement, murder, mystery, and romance. The regular crew of friends, family, and work associates are joined by a villain who is crafty and runs in a whole different crowd from the usual thugs. Kate has extended herself beyond her comfort zone and become more confident in areas outside of her work. Between her love for Gem, her acceptance of help from Gem's new assistant, and a more compassionate attitude, it was exciting to see how she handled various conflicts. I had a difficult time putting the book down when real life interfered with my Rosetti time. Fantastic addition to a terrific series!

I love this series. Kate Rosetti is that female detective that we all want to love but she is growing and developing as a human being, too.

As always, she has a mystery to solve plus a boatload of personal stuff going on. You will be engaged and entertained throughout the whole book. We get to see more of her family and Gem, which is an added bonus.

I might love every Gina LaManna book and series, so that might make me biased!

Thrilling twist and turns but also has funny and endearing moment s

Thank you Gina for continuing to write more stories about Dectetive Rossetti. I love the twist and turns of the story line. I totally could not guess how things were going to unfold. I definitely held my breath a couple of times. At other times, I definitely laughed out loud. I appreciate how Kate's character keeps evolving as a person. Love Gem and her together.

Amazing and heart warming until the last shoot out

Kate Rosetti and Jimmy Jones, the ever fearless and funny partner of Rosetti do it again with another crazy investigation and tips and tricks and humor to keep you wanting to read more until the end. Jack makes a special appearance throughout and Gem, well if you know Gem, lets just say he is one of a kind. I love this series and this author.

Gina LaManna has done it again! Kate and company are up to solving another murder, this time at an independent living facility. During all the investigations mayhem ensues with shoot outs, car bombs, and kidnapping. But the best is Kate has finally come to terms with being totally in love with Gem. A great and fast read… ❤️

Best Kate yet!

Huge fan of the Rosetti series. This book is my favorite. I’m not one to give details that spoil plot lines for others, but it has been wonderful to see Kate move into a more engaging person. Her relationship with Gem brings an actual smile to my face as I read.
If you’re new to this - start with Book 1 and go through the whole series!

Great addition to the series

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The mystery was great, the pace was excellent and the character and relationship development was perfect! This might be my favorite in the series. Can’t wait for the next book. Also curious to see where Bonnie’s character goes. Highly recommend but do start at the beginning of the series to get the most enjoyment.
