Signing up for an alien breeding program should be scary, considering the aliens are ruthless barbarians. On the upside, they won’t hesitate to give it to you as rough as you like it.
Submitting to the Alien Barbarian is part of a smutty novella collection, Petra Palerno’s Filthy Shorts, that features otherworldly love interests.
In this installment, you’ll alien romance, size difference, double dongs, submission, bratting, breeding, will it fit, rough play, and pregnancy.
This was a short, steamy and very very kinky novella. Surprisingly it was quite nice and I enjoyed it. One thing though: "If you're here for the smut, this book is definitely for you" 🌶️.
Thoughts I loved that this book features someone who actually wants to go to an alien planet with the hunky hot aliens. I liked the banter between Drohako and the unnamed main character. This concept was really fun and to the point. I didn't care for the pseudo-birth part. I think my brain just kept flashing that alien-human hybrid from Alien: Romulus and it icked me out bad.

The Rating I give this book a #4/5🌟 rating. This was short and to the point with some interesting world-building!
This was a fun read. The spice picked up right from the start. One of the more creative anatomy’s 🍆 I have ever read! 5/5 🌶️’s! Lots of rough filthy play.
The scene where the tiger tries to buck her off had me in giggles. 🤭
That ending was sweet and even romantic, but cut short and a bit of a cliffhanger.
Reseña — Submitting to the Alien Barbarian de Petra Palermo
⭐⭐ / 2.5 estrellas
“Your first kill?” he asks, although I can tell that he already knows the answer when I nod. “You are strong, you protected our family—wear his blood with honor.”
✔️alien romance ✔️size difference ✔️pregnancy ✔️the spice is the plot ✔️no 3rd act breakup
So, the spice is the plot here. Don’t pick this up expecting a full story with a lot going on. If you read the blurb, you get what is happening here and that’s about it. That said, it was a fun read. Was it the best alien romance I’ve read? No, but that doesn’t mean it was bad.
Drohako (MMC) and the FMC are mates, and that isn’t common, so it takes both of them by surprise. The whole story revolves around the fact that she is there to help make more alien babies, so of course there is pregnancy (and birth) on page. I found it a little weird that
This is a solidly middle of the road, super spicy, quick read. I am definitely interested in reading the other two in this series of shorts by this author because I like her writing style overall.
While I'm not one to usually pick up a book that has heavy bdsm/rough play in it, I took a chance on this one because of other factors I thought I might like and too, because the cover is just blatantly amazing. This novella didn't disappoint!
The beginning does start off hard and rough as it jumps into the heart of the story. Drohako and our FMC start off on a very scorchingly hot note!🥵 Legit, this novella is packed full of spice!! Towards the beginning, I was questioning how much Drohako respected or cared about our FMC to begin with because of how he was treating her, until it became apparent that it was just part of his culture/warning up to her. Not to mention that she was loving every minute of it. Drohako has a gruff and stony air about him when the FMC first meets him. But as the story moves on, that air thins out into a MMC who cares deeply for his FMC. The worldbuilding in this book was very well done. I would love to explore it more! While this novella is obviously about a Barbarian, Drohako and his culture kinda gave me some viking vibes.
If you're looking for a short, steamy read with an alien barbarian and bdsm vibes, this is the novella for you!
Review Okay, this novella goes HARD. It’s very smutty, and more importantly, it’s braver than most when it comes to dominance and submission. It’s edgy in that there are things that the FMC doesn’t like, but it’s also constantly edged in pleasure and we get peeks into the submissive that she truly craves to be. Their journey isn’t just sexy rough bedroom roleplay, but that of a lifestyle.
It’s a tricky balance to try to achieve, especially in a novella that’s less than a hundred pages. Most of the time, I’m just frustrated and turned off by the FMC dissolving into her partner being her primary focus in life. It usually feels cheap and makes me dislike the characters. But I feel like this author did a good job with this particular flavor of spice and power exchange relationship.
It’s a short read so we don’t get massive character depth, but I did like the MMC. For being an asshole barbarian, and very much a top with particular demands expectations of his bottom, we still see just enough vulnerability to make him likable. There were parts of the story that felt a little choppy and rushed, but I’m still rating it pretty highly purely out of the enjoyment factor.

Okay. Straight up, I liked this little nugget. Our FMC (who wasn't given the chance to give her name until the end, so we never actually learn it. This makes writing this review a little problematic since I will be referring to her as FMC, but it otherwise not an issue) signs up for an alien breeding program since she, umm, likes her sex-ay times a little on the rougher side. She's more resigned to the birthing part of the breeding program than excited by it, but the rough, no-holds-barred sex? She's DEFINITELY down for that.
The big purple alien that hones in on her is everything she wanted. What she didn't expect is that his mating knot would mark them as mates and her big rough barbarian isn't about to let her go. This honestly isn't an issue since she likes the guy and everything he does to (and for) her. In fact, when push comes to shove, she's more than willing to break a few rules to make sure they stay together.
Nicely naughty with a little alien submission (or maybe submission to the alien? Why not both?!?!) to keep things fun. *thumbs up*
I was put off a little by this one in the beginning but this one surprised me in a good way! I actually fell for this story and the characters and would have loved to read more from this world and from them, not gonna lie. Easily 4 stars from me!
It was funny with the language barrier/meaning between the two and how spitfire and strong willed they both are haha. The steam in this one was off the charts and liked a lot of the scenes. This one has some plot too, I appreciated the males raise the young but you don't get to keep them so they go more communal living and once these two were mated they had to come up with a Plan B. I liked their furry friend and how he shown his approval of her haha. That made me laugh so hard. The brute was confused as all get out haha. The way she had to do something pretty bad for survival was commendable and I could see why he fell for her and ensured she knew she was a warrior. I will say I was annoyed about not know her name dang it hahaha. Nice twist by the author.
Reading the 3rd and last one right now and am already digging the Beauty and the Beast vibes and the Bubble Babes tie-in/intro as well. Will review that tomorrow once I'm done!
Honestly I forgot this was a short story but I've read the other alien smuts by this author so not too bad.
I will say the emphasize on the FMC looking for rough sex right out the gate scared me a little tbh because like girl tearing is very common if not prepped correctly but you do you ig.
Like honestly some bits of this I side eyed the FMC but also I get for the sake of plot that this was a truly different person and I appreciated that brcause no way in hell would I sign up for any of that.
Just a side note but the no bathing situation would make me crash put because yeah sex with a 2 dicked alien barbarian sounds hot until you realize you're just bathing in some magical thick water at best but you're CHOOSING to get fucked into the dirt everytime?? Sure Jan......
Overall an interesting short atory and I will be reading the rest of the series since it's available on KU now lol

This was barely over 100 pages. There isn't really any background and the world building is nonexistent. This is literally about a human woman that signs up for a breeding program so she can get violently railed for 3 months by giant purple aliens. And you know what? Valid.
It was short, spicy, and very kinky. Size kink. Breeding kink. Knotting. Weird phallus. I mean, if you can think of it for an alien romance, it's probably there. I was just here for an unhinged book to help prevent a reading slump. I don't know if it helped, but I certainly didn't hate the attempt.
I came for the alien smut, and discovered a surprisingly sweet (and also deliciously filthy) strangers to mates romance.
This short story has a giant, buff alien with “special equipment “, a moose tiger (tiger moose?), and a baby situation that closely resembles Panda reproduction… sort of.
Submitting to the Alien Barbarian was a fun short story, and def worth a read.
I loved this story and our alien barbarian. Purple, strong, rough around the edges and two dongs? SOLD. I loved the sci fi birthing elements and I thought it was totally unique. Drohako becoming a big ol softie too melted meeee. I love it. I need more alien barbarians stat!
no entendí. sentí que me arrojaron a este libro como a mitad del camino porque, si bien, lo explican, sentí que todo era tan raro, y lo dice alguien que tiene el monster/alien romance como su género principal para leer.
I was not sure about this story when I got started, however by the end I was fully invested in this couple and the life they will lead. They are breaking all the rules and I'm here for it.
