In Double Exposure, Collins plunges readers into a world he knows intimately -- broadcast television. We meet top TV critic Joe McBride, who's doing fine professionally, but whose private life is a mess, what with a five-year-old daughter, an angry ex-wife, and a very-soon-to-be-ex-fiancie, not to mention a come-hither co-anchor, and a beautiful brand-new neighbor who's alluring, available . . . and much, much more than meets the eye.Savvy, sexy, and edge-of-the-seat suspenseful, Double Exposure is the kind of thriller only an industry insider could create, a star turn from a man who knows that when people talk about a role to kill for, sometimes they mean exactly that.
Written in the late 90s this brought back memories of things no longer in common use. The language and descriptions are also dated. I did enjoy the book as late-night reading and remembered gobbling up novels like this in my youth. It's really more in the erotic thriller category than mystery, though there are elements. A step back in time to appreciate the now.
Stephen Collins' second novel is a must read or to be heard via audio book. He has written a fast paced mystery that keeps you up at night until you reach the dramatic conclusion. He really needs to write more thrillers for his fans. He is so talented.
I loved the character development and the building up to the action. It felt like a huge building to that first hill on a rollercoaster. Once the action started there was one little bump on the coast down. Disappointing - expected some twists and turns.
It was a crazy book. I will not give all the details because I want everyone to be able to check it out for themselves. It had a lot of mystery and suspense, but no horror no gory stuff so therefore I think that even teenagers could read it. Of course, mature teenagers, not your kids that are sheltered from the world. This book was suggested to me by a coworker and I’m glad that I read it. This is the first book I have finished this year.
This was an entertaining read. In addition to being a very good actor, Stephen Collins is also a very good author. I've read both of his novels and he's got talent. Sad that's he's disappeared from Hollywood. Hopefully he'll decide to write again. I miss him.
I started this book great but as I read it more I kept getting confused the writing to me seem scattered and hard to follow at times. I liked the character Joe McBride but the rest I don't know. I admit the book had me wanting to see what happens all the way to the end. Had to finish it to see how it all come to an end. Might try more books by Mr. Collins
