I enjoyed hearing about other spiritual beliefs and paradigms that are different from my own. I learned a lot and appreciated the shamanic perspectives and practices. As a trauma therapist I also appreciate the legacy traumas that can manifest in families from generation to generation. I too am grateful for connections with our ancestors and loved the focus on healing, forgiving, and connecting. Not all of the exercises resonated with me but that’s what I love about books: You can take in what supports your own healing journey and leave what doesn’t fit. I like Dr. Farmer’s insights, perspectives, wisdom, and guidance. I’d like to read this book again to see what else I might pick up the 2nd go round.
