Better Homes and Gardens is one of the "Seven Sisters", a group of women's service magazines.
An entire book of 4 inch blocks. Many of the pieced blocks can be resized and/or paper pieced. I like this book for the appliqués flowers and easy holiday blocks.
This book assumes that you are an experienced quilter. Very little guidance for a beginner. I like that the author pictures projects to use the blocks that are not quilts, thus giving net ideas to use them.
If you don't like either appliqué or paper piecing, this book will likely sit on your bookshelf unused. As mentioned, while some of the pieced blocks can be enlarged, the smallish size encourages paper piecing them instead.
I really like this book and made copies of the blocks. The majority of the designs show work that leans toward the country artsy style, which is not mine, nor do want to go that way. The easy instructions are on the same page as the quilt blocks.
