SOS Hotel #6

SOS Hotel: Luxury to Die for

Rate this book
My big secret is out. Adam Vex may be a tiny bit not human. But it’s not so bad. Just so long as Gideon Cain doesn’t find out.

It’s probably best if I keep my head down and stay out of trouble, especially after our ‘accident’ at the vampire chapel.

But one little date won’t hurt. We deserve some time off. And what can go wrong at a fancy dinner? It’s not as though we’ll become tangled in a corporate plot to exploit Lost Ones in brutal fights to the death for entertainment, during which we attempt to free the fighters, only for the evening to end with me riding an enraged werewolf through the restaurant, and have the entire escapade viewed millions of times online resulting in all of San Francisco

What is Adam Vex?

Why would any of that happen?!

My name is Adam Vex and I'm your host at the SOS HOTEL, where we offer luxury to die for (Luxury not guaranteed).

*

Warning : SOS Hotel contains explicit language, situations, and content that some readers may find kinda unsettling. The books also contain the BEST F*CKING DEMON there ever was, the worlds most useless vampire who has a weird-ass thing for Swedish furniture, and a 100% human (not sus) who is super nice and deserves to have nice things.

I was provided an e-copy of the book by the author in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

✅ Characters
✅ Adam, Zee and Reynard piling up problems and making enemies like their life depend on it
✅ Fast pace
✅ Entertaining plot
✅ The sass and humor
✅ MMM smut
✅ Romance (throuple)
❗️❗️Trigger warning: murder attempts (again), blood and some gore, decapitation

4.5 stars

I am sad that the next book will be the last already, I would have been down to read many more adventures with these three guys and their crazy hotel...

“And we’re just two normal people having a look around.”
Zee fluttered his lashes. “Babycakes, the normal ship has left the harbor and sailed off the fucking map into shark-infested waters.

These three collect problems like it’s an Olympic discipline and they are competing for the gold medal. They collect enemies like Adam hoards cat figurines, and every time I think things can’t get worse, I am inevitably proven wrong.

Gideon Cain is finally back into the plot, and I hate him more than ever, but I am still happy that he is making his move because he was mentioned a few times since the beginning of the series, but I was curious to see what his move would be when he finally decided to strike against Adam. I also like the fact that all the little subplots that I thought had been forgotten, like Claymore’s disappearance or Sebastian’s involvement with Cain end up being relevant in this book, and of course, they add even more trouble and problems for our little throuple.

“I know what you’re implying, Fancy Pants. Decapitating your sucker queen was an accident. Adam gets it.”
“A miscommunication,” I agreed.
Victor sighed. “As I was saying, delaying the meeting with Leomaris will not solve anything. We should meet post-haste.”
“Who’s that?” Zee asked.
“What?”
“Post Haste, who are they? You’re not making any sense. Are you low on red blood cells? Do you need a top up?” Zee waved at me. “Adam will volunteer and I’ll watch, for science.”

The humor in this book is amazingly delightful. I love how I laughed out loud or grinned so many times, but it was not because the characters made a joke or were silly on purpose. There were gems in the conversations between Zee, Adam, and Victor, but most of the time, they were having a serious conversation, it’s just that they are all so weird and different, that it created some crazy funny dialogues. The author also managed to integrate a good mix of banter and dry sarcasm into the trio’s interactions, and I absolutely adored every moment they had together.

“We need you there,” he whined. “I need you there. When it’s just me and him, it’s weird. You’re the lube that smooths things over, the custard middle of a delicious donut, the cheese in the mac and cheese. It doesn’t work without you. It’s just curly pasta without you. Do you hear me? Just weird, erotic, hot as fuck, messed-up pasta.”

I haven’t read many books with a MMM dynamic, but this trio is my favorite one, without a doubt. Zee and his flamboyant personality, Adam trying, and horribly failing, to appear human, and Victor having feelings but not knowing how to deal with them make for an eclectic, but impossible not-to-love trio.

Reyzee is taking over!
Zee and Victor are still uneasy with each other when Adam is not there to act as a buffer, but it is clear that they care for each other, and are attracted to each other too, they just have no idea how to process and deal with those feelings, and it was cute and hilarious at the same time to watch them try to come to terms with their emotions.

“You remember how Agatha wanted to harvest all your best bits for FaeMade ® face creams?”
Zee paled. “Do not fucking remind me. I’m working through it with my therapist.”
“You have a therapist?”
“Tom Collins at three a.m.”
Victor was nodding also. “Tom at two a.m.”
My slot was four a.m.

Tom is still one of the MVPs of this series. He is dry, sassy, and hilarious, and the fact that this intense and slightly unhinged AI became the unofficial hotel’s therapist made me laugh so hard! I wish we will finally have confirmation of what he is in the final book, and that he will get to live happily ever after behind his bar, with his bottles of alcohol and his happy dust to sprinkle everywhere (iykyk).

“We don’t really do normal here.” After handing the sheet back, I ruffled my hair and shoved my hands into my pockets. “Fine, it’s all fine.” We had bodies up chimneys and in flower beds, gremlins on staff, and an unregistered shadowbeast in the attic. Zee had allured a racist detective, and my true identity was close to being cracked wide open. But it was absolutely fine.

It’s crazy when you think about it, each book spans about 1 week, so the hotel has only been open and operational for 6 weeks, and I lost count of how many life-threatening situations Adam, Zee, and Victor ended up in. These little gems are full of action, delicious humor and banter, and smut that gets spicier with each book.

AHHH why did the ending have to leave me hanging like that??! But this series still remains a solid five stars. I can’t get enough of all three of them!!! Especially now that Zee and Reynard have sorted out they’re differences in the best way possible 👀👀. Ok, but I love how baffled Zee gets whenever Reynard says something sweet to him or strings fancy words together. I still feel bad for Adam, he has such a good heart, he's really started to grow on me 🥲. Also those smut scenes were someeething!! In a good way, like an earth shattering way (literally). I'm really not ready to finish this series, I almost don’t want to start the next book but I have to know what happens!!

WTF!!! I think this series has it out for me. I feel like I'm losing more of my sanity with every book and am slowly going insane.
What an embarrassing plot. I had hoped so much that the three of them would become smarter. But no, they continue to fall into every trap, and of course, now it has to turn into a major disaster.
I'm downloading book seven and hoping that I can get through it without tearing my hair out.

“Everything would be easier if we could just eat the bad people of the world.” 🖤😳🖤

“Does it involve Adam Vex’s special sauce of chaos, mayhem, and cold-blooded murder?”
I opened my mouth to deny it but Zee smirked, already seeing through the lie. I closed my mouth again, and he walked his fingers down my chest, flicking shirt buttons open. “He’s making a list,” he sang softly. “Checking it twice. He doesn’t care if you’re naughty or nice. Adam Vex is coming to town.”
🖤🤭🖤

“He said uh . . . He told me I was uh . . . all the color in his life, and if he lost me he’d . . . well . . . He’d lived long enough to know that he didn’t wish to live another second without me in it, or you. 🥰🫠🥰

Victor’s mouth twitched. “You are remarkable. You are unique. You bemuse and confuse me in the most delightful ways. The best barely covers the multitude of ways in which you enrich my life and the lives of those around you.” 🫠🥰🫠

This installment gave me so much anxiety. When did I sign up for anxiety in my silly goose read??

God I hate Gideon Cane. I haven't come across a villain who is quite so villainous in a long time. I feel like this book has kind of Trojan horsed me with high stakes and a serious plot between all the frivolity and threesomes lol (not that I'm complaining). I mean I shouldn't be too surprised considering I thought this series had been pretty low key for Mrs Nash so far and that she hadnt tormented her readers too much yet in a way I suspect she loves.

I personally dont really love false arrest plots, so that dampened my enthusiasm a tiny bit for like half a second, but it did lead to some emotional scenes I enjoyed and I do love how the throuple between Adam, Zee and Victor continues to grow and strengthen.

This story remains just such a solidly fun and entertaining audio experience. I'm devasted I have one audiobook left until I'm caught up and have to switch to the written ones. The one silver lining is Michael Lesley has made such strong characters with his voice work that I can hear their their voices through the writing.

Another smashingly entertaining instalment. Michael Lesley narrates THE PANTS off this series. And Ariana Nash continues to surprise me as the funnies just keep coming. After reading a lot of her darker books I really didn’t expect this heartfelt comedy gold to come pouring out. 6 books later I’m still loving it and of course jumping straight into the next book (and depressingly final audio 😩).

I let this review linger too long, so the best I can do is a couple of useless comments...

I love the boys and watching their relationship continue to develop, especially things between Zee and Victor. Their dynamic is my kryptonite 😍

I hate Gideon Cain with the fire of 1000 suns 🤬

The first half of this book was a struggle because the pacing was slower than usual and nothing significant really happened, BUT I loved the second half and the cliffhanger.... I cannot wait to see how everything ends in the final book!

I love the way the relationship between Vampire Daddy, Zee and Adam is growing and I'm excited to see how this ties in with the prophecy.

Gideon Cain is doing my head in, I hate that guy!! Cannot wait to see him get his comeuppance...

I'm also looking forward to seeing a description of Adam's true form because I'm really curious about what he really looks like!

Poor ‘boring human’ Adam Vex has a lot on his plate ~

I had a health and safety inspection to prepare for, a horde of reporters to hide from, and a hotel to keep afloat.

And a lot on his mind~

I […] tried not to think about the big questions hanging over us. When would Princess Daisy make her move in revenge for the death of her mother? What was Cain’s next play? When would my sweet and innocent act no longer cut it?

Wow this was SO good! Was not expecting that ending!!🫣😲

Fuck, this series is just so much fun.
In this one, Reyzee was ON FIRE, the throuple was thriving, Adam’s true form peaked out, Cain continues to be the end boss we all want to see dead, Zee is still my baby and daddy fancy fangs made me swoon hard. What more could you possibly want?!
The last book can’t come fast enough 😍

Awesome!

I can’t give any book in this series less than 5 stars! The main characters are the absolute best! The side characters are fantastic! The plot is fun! The ending of this one really makes you want to dive right into the next one! If you’re not reading this series yet, you should be!

This is probably the most ott funny books I’ve ever read! I love them! This trio just has it all! The fun, crazy train shenanigans it’s literally out of this world.

All characters are superb, from completely human Adam, Victor fancy fangs, but I absolutely adore Zee. What a character. Layers on top of layers. 💜

This is crazier with every book, and I sometimes just need to lock them somewhere so they can ease on the goddam havok, and say just stay there and have earthquaking hot sex ok?

Can't wait for the next book that’s the final one 💜💛🖤

“One hundred percent throughbred incubus right here. You may have seen me in classics such as Ten Inch Hero and Incubus Dreams”.

Adam Vex must have spiked these books with something to make them this addictive. Or was it Tom Collins, the slightly buggy AI barkeeper?

To start this review with a quote:

“Will you sit down, you’re making my algorithms ache,” Tom grouched.
“Come here.”
He tapped the bar with a chipper grin.
“Let’s make you a bespoke artisan cocktail. One just for you. We’ll call it the Vex Vortex and fill it full of happy dust.”
“What’s happy dust?”
“Oh, you know . . . Just an added sprinkle of glitter. Everyone loves glitter.”

Truest words ever said - everyone loves glitter. And if they don’t, they’re not my kind of people 😬

These books are like glitter, so to speak. Completely OTT, pesky if used in bigger quantities, but oh so much fun when you’re in the right mood. Add to that Michael Lesley’s narration, the narrator equivalent of a glitter bomb, and you know what to expect from these books.

I mean… it’s book 6. If you haven’t started reading this series, this review probably won’t make you pick it up. It IS a commitment after all, reading 10 books, even if they’re not overly long. But it’s a fun ride, trust me.

Adam, the very much ordinary human who’s not, in truth, something completely different (no spoiler here…), Zee, the magnificent incubus, and Reynard, the now impoverished vampire Lord, finally get their MMM going, and yes, it’s earth shattering (to be precise: Earth quaking).

And in case that you didn’t hate Gideon Cain by now, trust me: you WILL at the end of this book.

Usually, I don’t listen to more than one book in a row that’s narrated by Michael Lesley (narrator glitter bomb, remember?), but as this one ends in a cliffhanger, I just…

HAVE

TO

KNOW

…how it continues 😅

"Madame Matase was right. As long as we were doing the right thing together, we’d be okay. A heart shall rise, a beacon bright. Maybe it had never been about my beating heart, but about the love of a demon and a vampire."

Ariana Nash continues the craziness in book 6 of her SOS Hotel series.

Adam's troubles continue in SOS Hotel: Luxury to Die for and in this instalment, there's an awkward incident with a werewolf, Tom Collins rather worryingly starts serving decaffeinated tea and Adam's alter ego is finally exposed, in public, with really not very good consequences.

On the plus side, the MMM action is hitting full steam ahead - until the exposing the alter ego thing causes some issues in the bedroom.....

To be continued in the seventh and final book - SOS Hotel: Your Final Resting Place - and I am going to be soooo sad to say goodbye to the not-quite-so-human Adam Vex, the gorgeous Fang Daddy and the ever so delectable Zee!

Book 6 in the SOS Hotel series is as wacky and crazy as all the others. It might be my favorite in the series as we get to see all the feels come out to play. The author did a great job at balancing the insanity of the series with the emotions, and for a book as nuts as this one, it makes all the hard emotional stuff that is much more special.
I didn't think this series could get better. This book proved me wrong. I am very much looking forward to seeing how it all wraps up in the final book.

The first half was a bit of a struggle to read. I didn't particularly like the way the threesome developed (we're stuck somewhere between denial and weird but all-consuming love), and I didn't necessarily like the beginning of the plot either.

But the second half, oh yes, the second half was everything. Funny, exciting, meaningful. I really enjoyed the second half. It made up for the sad beginning of the book.

Another great installment in this series. The pacing in the beginning of the book was a little off/slow for me, so it took me a minute to really get into the book, but once things got moving they were fantastic.

I loved seeing the vulnerability between the MCs and how their poly relationship grows and evolves.

There was a lot of great action in this and a few heartfelt moments.

This book set up the finale nicely. I cannot wait to see what happens in the showdown with Cain.

AND I am dying to get some more info on what Adam looks like as a dragon, and what his interactions are like in that form.

"I'd been on the run my whole life.
But running was no longer an option."

I cannot get enough of Adam, Zee, and their Murder Daddy!! Book 6 has our MCs embroiled in yet another insane scheme of course. This time it's to save a group of Lost Ones who have been victims in a plot to force them fight to the death for entertainment. What could go wrong? Well, quite a lot could go wrong starting with the fact that a certain enemy of our sweet, boring Adam is one of the benefactors of this horrific event.

Things are really heating up with the plot now that we've come close to the end of the series. Fortunately for us readers, Adam, Zee, and Victor's relationship has reached scorching levels as well. I really enjoyed seeing Victor and Zee start to be more open with their affections for each other. Yes, they still bicker and fight, that's who they are, but they've finally started to let some of their walls down with each other and not just with Adam. I think Adam's rather brilliant idea for them to bond worked rather well for all invovled.

"You two need to fuck it out."

I'm pretty bummed that the next book is going to be the last. This is just such a fun series. Its wild, chaotic, sexy, and has me smiling almost the entire time I read it. I know I'm going to miss these three along with their surly therapist aka their not so AI bartender. I'm holding out hope that along with Adam and his men, Tom has a chance to go on and find his own HEA as well. Or at least the ability to leave the hotel bar.

4.5 star series. A true series, where the storyline builds and information is doled out slowly over multiple books, by book 4/5 there are plenty of big secrets still being kept. Follows the same three characters throughout, must be read in order and cannot stand alone. Recommend reading them close together as there are quite a few friends, co-workers, allies and villains. Each book is a manageable 170-210 pages, so don’t let the 8-book series deter you.

Poly, slow burn MMM. There is a lusty daemon in the mix and we get some smut early on, but the relationship and romance is super slow to build. Good amount of pining and inner thoughts, some sweet gestures and thawing, but be prepared to wait for the feelings to develop, it take a while and even then, the romance isn’t very romantic or traditional. While that’s simmering, we have a cheeky story of some paranormal folks just trying to live normal lives with everything getting in the way.

Doesn’t take itself too seriously. The conversations and Adams inner thoughts are spectacular. The thruple have the perfect balance of personalities to create a fun and memorable story. Adam has a charming, vulnerable likability that is offset by a tremendously fabulous demon lover and a poised proper vampire love interest.

The adventures, quests and misadventures are fun, interesting and engaging. I binged the whole series back to back, which is a testament to how well written and how enjoyable the overall world is. I would typically give 4.25 stars as the romance was not as sweet and romantic as I would have personally liked, but the imagination, banter and silliness rates a 4.5.

Paranormal, vampire, demon, human-ish, MMM, poly, throne, hotel management, HEA.

Yeah, well… this one was fine. I’m not speechless because it was incredibly good or outrageously bad, but because we’re six books in, and I feel like Adam Vex just left me wandering the halls of this hotel like a Victorian ghost with unresolved plot trauma. Same same but different. Each book has its highs, sure, but also one massive, ongoing lowlight: Adam, mate, get a grip on your own story.

I love Daddy Victor and Zee and Tom Collins so much it’s becoming unhealthy—they’re the only reason I’m still here. Meanwhile, Adam, you are both the worst human and the “I’m only human” anthem come to life. At this point, you’re Frodo dragging the One Ring through a mystery no one really cares about any more.

It’s not balanced. The weird eats the mystery alive every so often. The story winks at me like it knows something I don’t, but then refuses to actually deliver answers. And yet… I keep reading. I laughed at lines that probably weren’t jokes, rolled my eyes so hard at character decisions I nearly saw my brain, and still turned the pages like a gremlin craving chaos in a tuxedo.

3.25 stars because I can’t stop now. Send help. Or Tom Collins' cocktails.

I was given an arc of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review.

A fun read! I enjoy how things are progressing even though it’s really frustrating that things can never go a planned for the gang. More side characters that we haven’t seen in a while was part of this book, so that was good. I can finally see the story beginning to come together. I also like the second half of the book because it was something new. The beginning of the book once again brought back the Zee and Adam getting into trouble and barely managing to escape, which is honestly overdone by now.

I have to complain about the mmm relationship because it’s not enjoyable to me anymore. In the beginning I was excited to see how things would progress between our main characters, but now it’s just been dragged out to long. I don’t really have a preference in slow burn or not, but i really don’t like when the majority of the story is about the characters pinning for each other for it then to be a really boring confession scene at the end. And you can’t even call this a confession scene because the characters have just been gradually getting more close. And in a way I enjoy that because it makes it feel realistic, but come on. We have been through six 200 page books and we can’t even get a confession scene between Zee and Victor.

Owwww.. I came to this series for a fun, fluffy story, and I got that. Until now; now I'm experiencing 'our MC lost their power and they're just a helpless human' which is not a plot that I enjoy.

Every other book ended on a high note, and now I'm questioning.. can anyone tell me if the successive books also have a sad, humorless ending?? I don't do tragedies. Unless he gets his power back in the next book, I'm afraid this series ends here, for me.

This continues to be such a fun series with three very lovable main characters. By the end of this volume, they have found their strength as a threesome, and it's sweet, sexy, and powerful. Sadly, this series will be wrapping up soon, but I'm excited for the epic finale we've been promised.

Feast your eyes on the penultimate instalment of SOS Hotel! Luxury To Die For is full of all the quirky, silly humour that the rest of the series is full of 💕 We have even more of Zee in scandalous outfits, Reynard using the sexy voice and Adam being a super normal, super chill human. Lol. That cat is very much out of the bag in this book!

In this instalment the gang accidentally crash a supernatural fighting ring and uncover a plot to steal Supernatural’s powers. The number of missing Lost Ones is growing and it seems like the company behind the fights might be between it. Could Gideon Cain be involved? Almost certainly.

Tom Collins is also back with aplomb, slinging drinks that are definitely not full of c0caine. Not even a little bit. As always Reynard and Zee are at each other’s throats, but it’s starting to seem less threatening and more… sexy? 👀

The drama is really getting dialled up and I can’t wait for the final instalment!! I love all these idiots and the cliffhanger at the end of this book has been ready to scream!

Read SOS Hotel: Luxury To Die For for:
✨ MMM supernatural shenanigans
✨ A hotel full of gremlins and now magical bubbles
✨ An underground fight club for the elite
✨ Crooked cops and undercover agents
✨ Missing supernaturals
✨ Prison break meets grand theft auto
✨ Tom Collins is moonlighting as everyone’s therapist
✨ He’s surprisingly good at it
✨ And he can (il)legally prescribe c0caine

Now it’s no secret that I am obsessed with this series, but the reason this one doesn’t get the full 5 stars from me is simply because a lot was crammed in here and I found myself sort of losing the plot a couple of times (which is hard to do in a book with less than 300 pages 😹). So it’s not my favourite of the series however I’m still obsessed with it and cannot wait for the grand finale!

Thank you to GRR and the author for an ARC of this book! It’s available on 30th September 2024!

❤️“Reyzee was on fire.”❤️

The sixth book in the SOS Hotel series gives us everything we love – action, chaos, humour, and romance. With old enemies finally reappearing and various subplots resurfacing, this penultimate book offers us an intense build-up to what will (hopefully) be an epic finale.

Our trio is definitely the highlight of the book and their chemistry is undeniable. Adam, Zee, and Victor’s relationship deepens as they face new dangers, this time rescuing Lost Ones forced to fight for entertainment. While there’s still plenty of snarky banter and tension between them, we also see deeper emotions and mutual affection coming through. Watching Zee and Victor finally lower their walls with each other is making my heart so happy. The bond between them is getting stronger, and their slow-burn connection feels genuine, sweet, and a bit messy in the best way.

Finally, Gideon Cain makes his long-awaited move against Adam. I am eager to see how this final confrontation plays out, and what kind of chaos the trio will "accidentally-on-purpose" stir up to deal with him. And let’s not forget Daisy and Seb.

This book perfectly sets the stage for the final book. There are still some lingering mysteries to unravel, and enemies to face, but along the way, we’ll get plenty of wild, chaotic, and hilarious moments. I’m a little nervous, and plenty excited, for the final showdown. I can’t wait to see how Adam, Zee, and Victor are going to save themselves—and the world.

I received a copy of this book from Gay Romance Reviews, and this is my unbiased review.
