Lucy Milburne had her heart broken a decade ago. After leaving her small hometown to escape the painful memories, she has built a new life in the big city as a second-grade teacher. With a boyfriend and possibly the best friend in the world, everything seems perfect—until it all comes crashing down during summer break. Left with no other choice, Lucy returns to Port-Cartier to mend her broken heart and face the past she thought she had left behind.
Luke Everett broke the heart of the only woman he ever loved ten years ago, but he has never stopped loving her. Each day without her has been torture, but he accepted his fate long ago. He never expected to see her again, but now that she's back in Port-Cartier, he knows he can’t let her go again.
Ten years have passed, and their lives can’t be any more different. But, when an unfortunate accident forces Lucy to stay in the town longer than she intended, old flames spark back up. They both realize some promises were never meant to be broken. The only question is, can they find a second chance at love?
This book was a cute story. I enjoyed the characters through out this book and loved the romance. What do you do when you see your ex after 10 years and it was him that broke it off??
I understood Lucy’s decision and choices in this book. Lucy’s other ex also had the audacity, the most hated character in this. Second chances are tricky but I liked this one. You could feel the chemistry between Lucy and Luke and they just made sense. I also thought that Luke’s house was really sweet.
If you don’t like second chances this book might change your mind. It was a great set up for the next book.
Tropes- Second Chance Small Town Dual POV Dual Timeline Spice
"God, she's still so beautiful. How could I have ever let her go?"
"He had a heart of gold and a mouth of filth, and I loved every second of it."
This book felt like a warm hug. 😍 It was a short and sweet read. If you are looking for a cute, cozy read, look no further!! 🤗 I'm not usually a huge fan of the dual timeline, but this was done well. If had to complain about anything, it would be that I would've liked more! 🫶
Thank you to Mia Elliot and Happily Booked PR, for allowing me to read and review.
I read this in one sitting… I really enjoyed this book and the character growth with Lucy and Luke is so kind hearted he has such a pure soul this was such a cute short easy read and I can’t wait to read more of them in the next book! I love how Lucy and Luke come across each other’s paths again and you could see they both wanted to make it work! I hate Lucy’s ex he can stay far far away and never come back however we got to see Luke’s protective side and it was amazing 🤭
Quotes I loved: “We were young when we dated—so young that many would tell us we didn't even know what true love was, but I knew that wasn't the case, because the impact she left on me shaped me for life.”
"I have thought about you every single day for the past ten years. You haven't left my mind for a damn minute, sweetheart. I need you to know that."
"Are you willing to give this a shot? 'Cause I'm all in, Luce. It's you and me against the world."

This cozy small town romance gives you exactly what you need when you’re craving a brief escape with the following vibes:
✨second chance romance ✨small town ✨supportive best friend ✨dirty talk ✨flashbacks ✨dual pov
I am a sucker for spending my Sundays reading these kind of stories! What stood out to me with this second chance romance was the flashbacks - I loved experiencing the love story in two different points of time. Sometimes second chance romances have that “instant love” trope that I’m not a fan of, but the two narratives weaving together the love story of Lucy & Luke was ✨chef’s kiss✨.

This is one of those romances that I recommend if you want a low stakes escape for a few hours!
This book caught my attention and I tried my luck for an ARC and, thanks to Florence Happily Booked Pr and Mia Elliot, I was lucky enough to receive and e-ARC.
Lucy is in a though situation with her actual boyfriend, after she finds out he was cheating on her. She immediately breaks up with him and decides to go back home, at her mother's house. But here is living another ex-boyfriend of hers, Luke, the one who broke her heart when she was younger.
When they see each other again the tension between them is really high and it was hard for Lucy to keep her anger towards Luke too much time. He knows that he did wrong to break up with her and wants her back. He will fight for what he wants and try to figure out how to make their relationship work this time around.
Inside some chapters, a throwback to the past is depicted, which made me understand the circumstances of their previous relationship and the reason they broke up then.
Luke is a very persuasive man and a fighter. He knows Lucy should be his and I liked how fiercely he was to sneak inside her heart again. They had some sweet part and others super steamy🔥. These parts intertwined very well and made the story super interesting and addictive.
The end was a bit rushed and it ended a bit too fast, wanting a little bit more about everything that happened then. But I would soon find out that there would be something more about them in a next book.
Small town romance, Stars Hollow vibes, second chance love and throw in a sprinkling of spice. If any of the above has your ears (and eyes) pricking, then get yourself a hot drink, a blanket and snuggle on down for this quick, fluffy and fun read.
Full of fun loving characters, simple plot, perfectly placed flashbacks and two of the cutest most loveable MC's around. Possibly my only negative... too short with a slightly abrupt ending, but it just makes me want to continue their story! You know I've already run to grab myself a physical copy for the shelf - and I can't wait to return to Port-Cartier later this year.
Thank you to Mia & Happily Booked PR for the opportunity to read and review Broken Promises - all opinions are my own.
It’s Gilmore Girls meets Hallmark in Mia Elliot’s adorable new novella, Broken Promises. If you love love and like to swoon, kick your feet, and sigh contentedly, you’re definitely in the right place.
Elliot delivers a cute, fluffy romance in Broken Promises. Perfect as a quick read, palette cleanser, or just because, Broken Promises will be exactly what you need if you’re looking for a light hearted, second-chance-romance love story. It’s set in Port-Cartier, a small beach town in the PNW. Broken Promises follows Lucy as she upends her life in Seattle and returns home following a devastating breakup, only to run into her first love, Luke. Upon seeing her again, Luke is reminded just how much he cares for Lucy and decides he’ll stop at nothing to pursue her and the life he wants to build with her. With the same cute, hometown charm as Stars Hollow in Gilmore Girls and the cheesy goodness and sprinkle of drama as a Hallmark romance movie, you’ll fall in love with both Lucy and Luke as they first fight their feelings and then finally come to terms with them.
The characters Elliot created are adorable. Luke has cinnamon roll and golden retriever written all over him. Lucy is strong and feminine, intelligent and practical. Sailor is sassy, supportive, and provides a smidgeon of comedic relief. Eve and Ed are the epitome of cute parents/parental figures. They really are like the cast of a tried and true comfort tv show.
Broken Promises by Mia Elliot is a feel-good romance that will deliver a shot of love straight to your heart. Make sure you grab this one when it comes out, especially if you need a cute pick-me-up.
A fast-paced novella about second chances and finding maybe you have to leave before you realise your true love is what you left behind after all.
Lucy is devasted when her boyfriend cheats on her, or rather he has been cheating for the last six months. She leaves the big city of Chicago and heads home to her mother in the small town of Port-Cartier to lick her wounds and figure out her next move. Inevitably she runs into her old boyfriend Luke, who broke her heart years ago and is the reason she’s never really returned to Port-Cartier.
Luke was a sweet guy, the sweetest cinnamon roll in the world. It’s obvious from the moment we meet him that he’s still in love with Lucy, always has been and only broke up with her so as not to hold her back. Lucy doesn’t want to forgive him but she can’t help remembering all the good stuff they had together and appreciate the man he’s grown into.
The longer Lucy stays in Port-Cartier, the more likeable she becomes. She softens and appreciates the slower pace and the small-town vibe. When her mother has an accident and she stays to help her run the florist shop and helps to modernise it, along with Luke’s help (and the townsfolk), she finds her ties to the town getting stronger.
I also loved Sailor, Lucy’s best friend in Chicago. I loved her spirit and her strong defence of Lucy against her ex, the threats to his physical being were hysterical. I hope she joins Lucy in Port-Cartier, she’s too much fun to stay behind.

Tropes: Second Chance Romance - Small town - Dual POV
Main Characters: Lucy(Luce) & Luke
Stand out lines/quotes: “Instantly his scent hit me. He smelled so similarly to how he did all those years ago. And more importantly why did his scent remain so embedded in my mind for a decade”
My Thoughts: This book had all the sugar and all the spice! Usually I’m not a fan of second chance romances but Luke and Lucy won me over. Lucy is such a sassy sweetheart that you can’t help but love her character and Luke is a total cinnamon roll hottie with a heart of gold and an amazing family to back him up that you just want to stay in the book with them. I really did enjoy it, much more than I anticipated.
This a super cute, quick read about small towns and second chances.
After breaking up with her current boyfriend, Lucy heads back to her hometown to regroup. As fate would have it, or just small towns, she runs into her high school boyfriend Luke, who broke her heart 💔
The two haven’t seen eachother in ten years. They have grown and changed but have their feelings? As they spend time with one another they realize some promises made are not meant to be broken.
Enjoyable, lighthearted and fun read about finding your way back to those in your life who you are meant for. This is dual POV and does give you tony snapshots into their past relationship.
Thank you to the author, Mia Elliot and Happily Booked PR, for the opportunity to read this book. I received an epub for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This is a delightful novella about first love and second chances.
Lucy Milburne left her small town ten years ago after getting her heart broken and she hadn’t looked back. After making a life in Seattle, her heart is broken again and she decides to return home to put the pieces back together. Of course, going home means coming face-to-face with Luke Everett, her first love and the man who shattered her heart the first time.
BROKEN PROMISES has a cozy small town vibe that pulls you into the story. Luke is the ultimate cinnamon roll and he is determined to win Lucy back. Lucy hasn’t forgotten her first love and the attraction still burns bright. You can’t help rooting for them to find their way back to each other. This is a quick and satisfying romance.
Thank you to Mia Elliot and Happily Booked PR for the gifted copy in exchange for my unbiased review.
First off I want to say a HUGE thank you to Mia and Happily Booked PR for this ARC! I am so grateful to have received it!
Second, Second chance romance is one of my FAVS. So I knew this one was going to be for me, just by reading the blurb. 😍
This book was such a sweet romance for me. I enjoyed every bit of it. A little laughter, mystery, a little spice to keep it head turning. I was enamored with Luke and Lucy and I want to get to know more of Luke’s Brothers. 😂
This book does have on page, open door spice but it’s just a few scenes. Lukey boy does have a dirty mouth though. 🥵
I am more than ready for their Christmas book, to see Luke pine even more for Lucy. November 24th is too far away. 😂
This was such a cute story!! This book made me realize that I love second chance romance!
Lucy has not returned back to her hometown for 10 years following her break up with Luke. She returns to her hometown after a rough breakup with her current ex.
She intended to stay for two weeks but after an unexpected accident happening causing for her to have to stay for longer.
This gives Luke enough time to try and win Lucy back! It was so cute of them confessing secrets and repairing the relationship that was broken. It makes Lucy realize as well that this is what she was missing in her life!
I hope more books of their story comes out!! Next book of theirs is their first Christmas 😊 YAY!!
This was a fast-paced, small-town, second-chance, romance. I loved every minute of it. I took off one star because I wanted more. Fortunately, I now know there will be more to this story. I can’t wait to read more of Luke and Lucy. Their romance had me swooning. Luke is the perfect book boyfriend. He only broke up with Lucy so he didn’t hold her back. I can’t.
This book is available on KU. I highly recommend checking it out!
Quotes: "He had a heart of gold and a mouth of filth, and I loved every second of it."
This was such a cute book if you love a good small town romance and second chance love. Our FMC, Lucy, caught her boyfriend Jason cheating on her. She decides to get away for a while and go back home to Port-Cartier, the same town she ran away from a decade ago after her first love, Luke, broke her heart. When she’s back home, her mom throws her a welcome home party and sure enough, Luke is there. The two of them spend a lot of time together, only to realize their story didn’t end 10 years ago. I loved watching their relationship grow and how they were able to pick back up where they left off. This was such a fun read and I highly recommend this to anyone who loves the above mentioned tropes.
Reading this book was a delight. The small town vibes were great and made me wish to live there. It was wonderful to see Lucy grow and heal from both heartbreaks she’s had in her life by loving the one person she didn’t want to love again.
Ten years after she left her hometown Luce reluctantly returns nursing a broken heart. Of course it wouldn’t be a romantic cliche to say that she runs into her high school boyfriend who broke her heart previously. What follows is a fun, quirky second-chance romance.
I enjoyed the story and the characters of Lucy and Luke and the charming New England town they live in. A quick, short novella was just the right length for a palette cleanser after a heavy fantasy. I will absolutely be continuing their story when the next instalment comes out in November.
I was given an advanced readers copy from the author and Happily Booked PR in exchange for an honest review.
Lucy Milburne's heart was broken a decade ago. She rebuilt her life in the big city but summer break brings her back to Port-Cartier to face her past. Luke Everett broke Lucy's heart but never stopped loving her. He accepts his fate but can't let her go when she returns. Their lives differ, but old flames spark when Lucy stays in town longer. They realize some promises are unbreakable, but can they find a second chance at love?
This was one of the first second-chance romances I have ever read. The pining and heartbreak propel the story! I also love that not knowing why these two are in a second-chance romance adds to the suspense! It’s obvious these two characters want each other back but I found myself waiting for the ball to drop. Once we get the “why” Lucy and Luke seem to give their high school romance a second chance. The ending definitely left me wanting more!
⭐️ Second chance romance ⭐️ Small town ⭐️ Dual POV ⭐️ Flashbacks
I guess if you love a short and sweet, second chance, small town romance this book could well be for you, but for me it fell rather flat. I get it was a novella but it just felt far too short for anything of consequence to really have happened - because it didn't.
I honestly don't see how two people who haven't seen each other for 10 years can jump straight back into a relationship without getting to know each other again first? People change! Where was the heartache? Where was the agony of seeing a lost love again after all these years? I just don't think there were enough interactions for me to see that developing relationship between Lucy and Luke. There was very little explanation of feelings as to how everything went down when they were younger, just some awkward flashbacks that shimmered into the storyline whenever a bit of nostalgia crept in. It all felt a bit contrived to me. She needed a reason to go home? She got cheated on. But it's alright cos she didn't really like him anyway. She needed to stay and look after her Mum? Well she's a teacher and just so happens to be on summer break! Honestly the teacher part was partly what drew me to the book in the first place and there was absolutely nothing about that in the story apart from the fact that she loved it enough not to leave (and yet never talk about it with anyone?) but Oh look, it just so happens the local school needs more teachers...the ending happened so quickly without any explanation as to Lucy's thought process or feelings it gave me whiplash.
Some things I did like: I liked the character of the Mum, she was well written and actually reminded me of my own a little, so there was a nice bit of connection there. But I wanted more interaction between Lucy and her to really get development of their mother-daughter relationship. I didn't get their dynamic here.
I enjoyed the small-town setting, I wish that had been explored with some more scenes in different places or more side characters perhaps - they were mentioned once but then never heard from again.
I do like a dual POV, so I'm glad we got Luke's side. But honestly, mate. There's pining and then there's whatever you were going through. I didn't really get Luke's character and although I liked him he felt very one dimensional.
I wish I could have given it more stars but it just didn't do it for me.
Broken Promises is a cutesy, cosy little second-chance romance based in an adorable small town, filled with loveable characters. It's such an easy ready that I binged it in one day and am already eager for more because Luke and Lucy have fully captured my heart 💞
Heartbroken following her cheating boyfriend, Lucy returns home to heal and visit her mum after being away from a decade - only to come face to face with her childhood sweetheart and first and biggest heartbreak, Luke. Lucy battles with memories of the past, whilst faced with the present and future of what ifs. Whilst Luke takes one look and promises to never let her go. Faced with a family emergency, all things change for Lucy and soon a healing summer develops into something much more and the future doesn't look quite so bleak..🔮
Lucy is an adorable character, full of sunshine and deserves that absolute best. Luke is a protective golden retriever, who deserves all the brownie points in the world for how far he's willing to go for those important to him and I loveeee it. I'm also obsessed with Sailor and I need more of her because she is just fantastic. All of the characters introduced just give you cosy, happy vibes and it's just lush - except Jason.. Jason can just get lost. Bye boy 👋
Mia has managed to write a fast paced romance that has the reader feeling all the feels, and leaves you wanting MORE. Honestly I love second chance and small town romances and this was no exception. It's such a quick and easy read as well, that I was actually gutted with how quickly I flew through it - but I was just so hooked and immersed in Lucy and Luke's story that I couldn't stop! I also absolutely love it when a book is dual POV with the FMC and MMC. There's nothing I love more than reading how the guy actually feels about the woman and sees her form his POV, honestly it's an instant love and win for me.
I definitely recconmend getting this book because I'm now feeling all cutesy and cosy and am feeling the need to go with my husband a massive cuddle💞
Broken Promises is a small town, second chance romance. It follows both Lucy and Luke (that's right.. dual pov!!! Whoehoe!!). Lucy is an elementary school teacher in Seatle. I absolutely love this since I just started college, and I'm currently studying to become an elementary school teacher as well 🤭.
Luke owns and runs his father's business in their small hometown, Port-Cartier (he's giving me a bit of Luke Danes, from Gilmore Girls, vibes). They were each other's first and childhood love. How cute is that? My heart, I can't- 🥹💕. Which is why I enjoyed seeing the flashbacks of their past together.
They broke up a decade ago.. This resulted in Lucy leaving Port-Cartier behind and starting her new life in Seatle. But one summer break, Lucy finds her way back to her hometown and to the life (and boy, now man) she left behind all those years ago. She's ready-ish to mend her broken heart and face the past she thought she left behind..
Luke broke the heart of the only woman he has ever loved ten years ago. Each day without her has been torture, has been a reminder of how stupid he was for letting her go.. He never expected to see her again.. But now that she has come back to Port-Cartier, he knows he can't let her go. Never again.
Soon, they realise that some promises were never meant to be broken...
I absolutely loved Sailor (Lucy's best friend)!!! She is so sassy, and I'm absolutely here for it!! She's also really supportive, kind, brings positive vibes and sonmuch more. I also really liked Eve, Lucy's mom. And of course, I also loved our two main characters. Their chemistry was so good and spicy 🤭👀✨️!
This was a short and sweet read, and I enjoyed every second of it!!
This novella was such an easy, fun, needed read! Second chance, small town, it’s always been you are a few of the Hallmark movie like tropes you will find in this book. However, unlike Hallmark movies Mia gives us spice and more spice. I smiled for most of this book and loved these characters.
Lucy decides to move back home after having her heart broken. Her now ex-boyfriend betrayed her trust for months and she doesn’t know where else to go. As she puts herself back together, we begin to see more of the real Lucy. She begins to regret staying away for so long and loves how everyone in her small hometown continues to show up for anyone who needs help! With her stay being extended due to an unfortunate accident, she begins to have thoughts of staying and what if.
Luke is the hometown golden boy that you love immediately. Evident from the moment he and Lucy run into each other, you can tell he still carries a torch for her. Yes, he broke up with her years ago, but you come to find out this was only so he wouldn’t hold her back. He didn't want to feel as though she was sacrificing for him. Turned out to be the biggest regret of his life! But now she’s back and he is determined to show her how great life her is and would be with him.
Mia writes such an enjoyable romance, filled with hope, coming home, and finding yourself. She gives us characters, both main and side alike, who bring depth, humor, and love to her story line. Definitely some characters who I would love to see again, maybe their own love story in the future? A great book, wonderful characters, and a sweet storyline that you are sure to enjoy!
As always, review any author notes before reading.

For those who wish for a second chance at first love
A provocative text from a “restaurant” pops up on Lucy’s boyfriend’s phone, and she immediately knows it’s over. Returning home to Port-Cartier from Seattle to clear her head before she needs to return to work, the last person Lucy wants to see is her first love, Luke. Ten years ago, he broke her heart, too. But Luke is determined to make up for lost time, and when Lucy’s mother ends up in the hospital causing her to extend her stay, Luke gets a chance to break through the walls she has built to protect her heart.
Broken Promises is a quick, sweet, and steamy read. Anyone who loves second-chance romance and swoon-worthy men who fall hard and fast will love this story. Like many cheaters, Lucy’s ex won’t give up even though he’s the one who had an affair. His recurrent presence does little to sway Lucy, however, who is securely over that relationship. It is refreshing to read about a heroine who doesn’t blame herself for her partner’s cheating or pine after him despite his obvious lack of respect for the relationship. I enjoyed this book and its extended-epilogue-turned-novella, Christmas Promises. Read both if you enjoy your Hallmark love stories with a dash of spice.
Tropes : ➛ Second chance romance ➛ Small town romance ➛ Sassy best friend ➛ Flashbacks ➛ Dual POV
I approached Broken Promises with high hopes for a heartfelt second-chance romance, and while it delivered some satisfying moments, it ultimately left me wanting more. The story revolves around Lucy, who returns to her small hometown to confront her past and the love she once lost. The dual POV was a nice touch, letting us see both Lucy and Luke’s emotions, which added depth to their complex relationship. Lucy’s character was relatable, grappling with her feelings and trying to rebuild her life. However, at times, her decisions felt a bit repetitive, which slightly dulled my connection to her journey. Luke, on the other hand, was endearing as he navigated his long-held feelings for Lucy, though I wished for more development in his character. The flashbacks were a clever way to reveal their history, but I found some of them a bit predictable. I loved the inclusion of Lucy’s sassy best friend, who brought some humor and lightness to the heavier moments. Overall, the romance had its tender moments, and I appreciated the small-town backdrop, which added charm. However, the pacing sometimes felt uneven, leading to parts that dragged a bit. I enjoyed the story but didn’t feel completely invested. If you’re a fan of second-chance romances, Broken Promises might still be worth a read, but it didn't quite hit the mark for me.
If you are looking for a cute, lighthearted second chance romance then I have the perfect book for you. This book as so good in my opinion. I loved the pacing, the writing, the plot and just the overall small town experience. Ir was done beautifully and I enjoyed every single page. From the moment I started reading, I was immediately hooked. It’s a First Person POV and boy does it get fun.
The MMC and FMC are just the cutest bunch. They both really were written strongly and I felt very connected to them. I loved how this story introduces a lot of their past life together along with their current life. They were together in high school and there was so much built from that. I felt like it helped the story a lot because it showed how much they actually still have feelings for one another even 10 years later.
The spice was pretty normal! It was good enough that it didn’t carry the story but also good enough that it was a part of the story in some way. I really appreciated it.
The Side characters were also very well developed. I loved Lukes family, especially his brothers. And I really loved ED!!!! He just reminds me of a guy who knows a good woman and just wants to make her happy. Him and Luce’s mom are just so cute. I hope to see a book about them one day
Overall, this book was just a breath of fresh air. I enjoyed it so much and can’t wait for the next one! I hope you will give this a read! Highly recommend!
Thank you Mia for letting me read this ARC. It was so refreshing!
Mia Elliot’s *Broken Promises* is a heartwarming small-town, second-chance romance that pulls you in from the first page. The novella is short but packs a punch, blending nostalgia and emotional depth with plenty of fun moments. For anyone craving a lighthearted yet meaningful love story, this book truly delivers.
The story revolves around Lucy and Luke, two high school sweethearts whose paths diverged 10 years ago. Now, with Lucy returning home, their past feelings come rushing back, creating a whirlwind of emotions. Both characters are incredibly well-developed, and their history together gives their reunion a real sense of longing and hope. The way Mia Elliot intertwines their past and present adds layers to their relationship, making it feel authentic.
The small-town atmosphere is crafted beautifully, giving the story that cozy, homey feel we all crave sometimes.
While the spice is present, it’s tastefully woven into the plot, enhancing the connection between Lucy and Luke without overpowering the narrative. The pacing of the story is just right, making it an easy yet satisfying read in one sitting.
If you're looking for something sweet, romantic, and refreshing, *Broken Promises* is an absolute must-read. With charming characters and a well-executed second-chance romance, it’s a book you’ll want to revisit time and again. I can't wait to see where Mia Elliot takes us next, and hopefully, we’ll get more stories from this wonderful cast of characters! Highly recommend!
It was okay, nothing really impressive. Second chance romance, where Lucy just went through a breakup, she fought it was the end of the world, so she had to go back to the small town where she grew up and has been avoiding for ten years because her high school sweetheart decided to breakup with her so she would follow her dreams, which I don’t understand why in Luke’s opinion she could do attending collage close to him, it wasn’t like she was trading Stanford for a community collage for him, she ended up going to a community collage in the other side of the country to stay away from him. Whne she comes back he says he will do everything that he can to prove to her that he is in this now, he will never let go of her again, and it doens’t take much, all it takes is him helping her when her mom falls from the stair and breaks her leg. Then there is the ex boyfriend, that at some point became a creep, and like the author tried to make him look like a psyco at the end, and then Luke got angry at her for not telling him that she had recieved flowers from Jason, and stormed of saying that things weren’t going to work out. I hated it and didn’t really see the point in it. It wasn’t horrible, but it also wasn’t good, I honestly got bored while readig it. So yeah, wouldn’t recomment.
💐 This one was a relatively short read, but the perfect quick fix to get you over your book hangover! 💐
Lucy and Luke are the most adorable pair I've read in a while and it's so hard to imagine them ever being with anyone else. The L names are hilarious, I'm almost certain that Lucy's mum and Luke's mum had a deal to name their kids with L names just for the fun of it. You'll understand when you read it😉
As an FMC, Lucy is so relatable! She wants to be a strong independent woman on one hand, but on the other, she's still a teenager in love with this boy that she grew up with. She has a hard decision to make, but I'm sure you'll all agree she made the right choice!
Luke is amazing. He's a lot more rugged and 'normal' than what I've read recently. He's just a guy in some jeans who lost the love of his life and now he'll do anything to get her back. He has a relatively normal job and lives in a small town where all his family still reside. He's the type of book boyfriend you just want to snuggle with, among other things 🥰
Also, have you ever wanted a bestie like Sailor? She's just so supportive and sassy, I need her in my life 😂
In just a couple hours, I've gone on a rollercoaster of emotions but I've come out the other side a refreshed woman. This was such an amazing read and I can't wait for the sequel!!!
