Bru Love: A Fair is a charming anthology from the Brumultiverse series, featuring stories by Filipino authors.
Personally, this brings back the days when I was still reading Wattpad—the kind of stories with less conflict and just full of kilig moments, where everything feels so easy and the only tension comes from feelings for someone else. These stories feel like daydreams. They made me feel nostalgic and a little sad, too, because I never got to experience this kind of love. Hahaha! Kidding aside, it says a lot: sometimes, the most romantic thing isn’t a grand gesture—it’s someone choosing you and staying with you.
Anyway, every story here has a lesson to be learned. My top two favorites are Playing Cupid and More Than Meets the Eye.
The writing in this anthology is light, easy, yet emotionally engaging. It’s perfect not just for fans of campus romance, but also for readers of Filipino YA. It reminds us of the feeling of being seen and loved.
Took a breather with this romance anthology and it was just what I needed. 🌿 I really love picking up anthologies because they’re low-effort, high-impact materials. This is BRU LOVE: A Fair. It is a month-long celebration of love during the month of February for all the students of Berkley-Reagan University (BRU). I love how there’s this one festive event and the short stories are from different perspectives of students around it, like parallel realities.
There were different angles, voices, and people, but at the very heart of the anthology, was love. 💕 Ah, love. The force that ultimately connects us all.
My favorite entries were: The Promise - Johanna L Lee Oil Is Fair In Love and War - Cris Santos Playing Cupid - Pauline Navarro
This was a restful and nourishing read.

🎡💘 Step right up, book lovers! BRU LOVE: A Fair is here to take you on the ultimate kilig ride! 🎢✨
Think of it as a love-themed carnival 🎠! Each short story is like a booth offering something new: slow-burn sweetness, laugh-out-loud rom-com vibes, and those heart-squeezing awww moments. 💌💕
I laughed, I blushed, I teared up (okay fine, beside the cotton candy stand 🍭😭), and I couldn’t put it down! What makes it extra special? The “bite-sized” stories that feel like assorted chocolates …you’ll definitely find one (or more!) to fall for. 🍫
Romance + Pinoy feels + fireworks = 💯 bookish win! 🎇 Trust me, you’ll finish this feeling giddy, nostalgic, and maybe even a little bit in love. 😉
