"Goddess above, I loved her from afar and wanted to love her up close. She was my soul, the other half of me. My Enayah." - Kalpheus When a young woman, who grew up in a different realm than the one her human/witch mother had, is chased from her home after assassins hunt them down, kill her mom, and attempt to take her. She finds herself whisked away into a portal, after falling over the ledge of a waterfall. Landing her in the middle of a living room in the human realm, where she meets her Grandmother and Aunt. After weeks of making friends with the guys at the local gym, her friends decide to host a boxing charity event where she meets a mysterious tall, dark, handsome male.
But this male isn’t who he seems when she runs into him again, outside her home in the woods, after another encounter with the assassins who find her human home. She flees with the mystery male when a family friend from her past finds her and reveals her mother has kept several secrets. She must uncover those secrets, leading her to the person responsible for sending the assassins.
Will she be able to go through with her revenge when she discovers who is behind it? And will she be able to keep those she loves safe?
AshFiera is the 1st book in the AshFieran Duet and ends on a cliffhanger.
Please check the trigger warnings at the beginning of the book or they can be found on the author's website. While not many, taking care of your mental well-being is still important.
K.L. ANDERSEN is a multi-genre romance author and avid reader. Whether it’s heart-wrenching or silly, she likes to write and dream up different worlds and the not-so-human men in them. She is a fierce Scorpio who lives in the Northern Midwest with her husband, two kids, two dogs, two cats, a bearded dragon, and the many chickens who roam around her home.
You can find her being a goober while enjoying writing, reading, gaming, or hanging out with those she loves.
I absolutely loved the plot and the characters in this book. Along with a lovely budding romance for the female character. How everything from her past came to light and her present gets more challenging and threaten to take it all away from her.
As she faces memories from her past and endure things in her present, what will she do, how will she face and battle them..... To find out you'll have to read this amazing book for yourself.
The book ended on a cliffhanger and I can not wait for the second to be released so I can find out what is in-store for her next.
AshFiera was a fantastic fantasy read that pulled me in from the very first page. The writing is strong, and the pacing kept me hooked—I ended up finishing it in a single day! The FMC is a powerful, well-developed character, and I loved following her journey as the layers of the world and plot slowly unfolded.
The suspense in book one is perfectly balanced—we’re introduced to a range of characters, each with unclear motives, and it kept me guessing who was truly friend or foe. I even found myself liking the "bad guy," which speaks to how well the characters are written.
The magical atmosphere, the presence of dragons, and the light touch of romance all blended together beautifully. I can’t wait to dive into book two and see where the story—and the romance—goes next!
This was the very first book I was chosen as an ARC reader for, and ooooohie is it a good one to start with!
I adored this book, I was immersed from the moment it started and read the entire thing in one setting. I LOVE a snarky badass FMC, and gods a good Shadow Daddy is my WEAKNESS and this book has both.
The world building was fantastic and the characters felt real and relatable. I almost regret being an ARC reader because it was so good and now I have to wait to talk about it. AND I HAVE TO WAIT SO LONG FOR THE NEXT ONE.
Ashfiera by K.L Anderson is a fantasy romance. Mental health is important so please check the trigger warnings as it does deal with some darker subtopics. I am going to go about this review a bit differently. First of all this book revolves around the concept of shadow jumping which essentially allows the character to jump worlds or locations. Anderson built a fantasy world that integrates the ‘modern’ earth as well as Ashfiera, her uniquely created world. The magic in this book is also well thought out and crafted. The main character is Raine who is just reaching the age of ‘adulthood’ and has lived with one idea of her personal history only to come face to face with actual reality. This involves a lot of plot surprises that I won't illuminate because that would take away from a future reader's experience. Just know it was a great rollercoaster. I have one major issue with the book and why I haven't given it 5 stars. The dialogue is forced and contrived a whole lot of the time. Most of the conversations don't feel authentic to the characters that have been created or they feel like they were rushed to get the person from one scene to the next in an efficient manner. Will I read more of Anderson? Yes I will try again for book two.
Right out of the gate, I was impressed by this book! The introduction immediately grabs the reader with creative worlds and characters that evolve uniquely and refreshingly. The tale doesn’t take long to gain traction and pull the reader in. She offers an entirely new kind of magic that is both shaded and elemental. She incorporates not one but two unique worlds and juxtaposes them perfectly. AshFiera is a magical dystopic realm with a feudal-type society of witches, seers, and teleporting ninjas called Shadow Warriors, who are regarded and feared above all others. Earth remains as we know and love it… with a twist.
K.L. Anderson has made her mark in a fantasy/sci-fi genre that has become over-saturated, with authors trying to create new and compelling worlds! She blends a powerful and engaging FMC (with a cast of other bad-ass females) into an intriguing—'Enemies to Lover’s (Triangle), and enough slow-burning romance and spice to get your blood pumping. Anderson has created her niche in a troubled genre that promises to become a fan favorite. Eagerly awaiting Book #2.
Absolutely enchanting! K.L. Andersen delivers a richly woven tapestry of magic, danger, and heart-wrenching emotion in AshFiera. Raine's struggle to come to terms with her heritage, alongside the intense action scenes and captivating world-building, left me breathless. The Ashix creatures are not only fierce but so beautifully described that I could see them perched on the boulders, watching Raine’s every move. The themes of loss, identity, and power are interwoven with precision, making this story both a thrilling adventure and an emotional rollercoaster. I particularly loved how the relationships, especially Raine's bond with her mother, are fleshed out and relatable amidst the fantastical setting. If you’re into strong heroines, sizzling tension, and a world you can get lost in, AshFiera is a must-read! Can’t wait for the next installment!
Omgosh! Where do I even start! I feel like this may be one of my favorite reads of the year so far and I’ve had a killer reading year! Our MFC is a badass that takes no crap! The magic system is complex but not hard to understand at all and sucks you in quickly! I can’t wait to dive into more of Raine’s powers in the next book! Our MMC is drool worthy and definitely gives off the touch her and……. well you know vibes. I’m very excited to find out more about Zynas!!! I do wish there was more scenes with Beauty but I’m sure we will get that in book 2! I’m trying to not give away any spoilers so I’ll just say this is a 10 star read for me and I am begging you to read it!!!!! Release Date is September 18th!!!!!!!
WOW. “AshFiera” by KL Anderson was amazing. I loved learning about the world, and Raine’s story. The overall bad-ass woman vibe that Raine gives off while also showing that it’s okay to be in the process of finding yourself and discovering who you are without your parents is an amazing tone to set for the entire series (because I KNOW this cannot & will not be a one-shot). Raine develops a relationship with Kalpheus, a guardian tasked by her mother to protect her. The chemistry between them is undeniable – it’s sweet and steamy and wonderful. The pacing of the story is wildly enjoyable. Enter Zynas into the scene and wooo – I am immediately hooked and anxiously awaiting the rest of the serious. Definitely grab this book if you love romantasy with a bad-ass female MC.
From a fiery FMC to a delicious shadow daddy, this book had my heart! Phew! I was definitely invested!
Raine is a badass who is still trying to find herself. I love this aspect because it shows that having flaws are okay, and you will make it through! This sets a gorgeous tone for the book and I cant wait to read more!
Thennnn there’s Kal… 🤭🤭🤭 Oh boy… phew! 😮💨
Kal is the tasty guardian daddy who makes sure his little princess (unbeknownst to her) stays safe in her journey! The plot picks up when Raine is sucked into a portal, and Kal dives in after her!
Chemistry, sparks, and love, this book has it all! The fast paced plot has action that is engaging and entertaining! I absolutely devoured this book!
I was honored to be an arc reader for this book!!!
AshFiera by K.L. Andersen is a fabulous romantasy read. I absolutely loved the world building and character development throughout the book. Raine is a super strong FMC and I was happy to see her come into her true self. She has been through a lot in her short life, but has dealt with it flawlessly. She cares deeply about those around her and is loyal despite her hardships. However that doesn't take away from the fact that she's also quick-witted, with a smart mouth. I found myself laughing at her antics. Such a fun read!
⭐5/5 🌶️2/5
⭐"Goddess above, I loved her from afar and wanted to love her up close. She was my soul, the other half of me. My Enayah."⭐
Rain has always lived in a different realm other than earth. Her father is a very well known assassin who disappeared when she was only 13. 5 years later her mother is killed while someone was on the hunt for her. She somehow winds up back on earth, unsure how she gets there and lands in her aunt and grandmother's house.
Follow raine as she joins a fight club and has to unlock secrets as to why she is being hunted.
Fast paced and easy read. This ends on a cliff hanger so be prepared to want book 2.
Great book. Quick, fun read. Definitely left on a cliffhanger, can NOT wait to read the second book. I need to know what happens. 😭 first Advanced Readers Copy I have done. And it was a wonderful book to experience. I'm sad I'll have to wait so long for book 2. Love a baddie FMC!!
"And I have been ensuring you have been safe, my Enayah. I regarded you from afar, blossoming into someone stronger even after losing someone you love. I'm not sorry for that."
Ahhh.
The characters and the dynamics. Beautiful! I am dying to know what happens with the possible love triangle. Eeek.

Get ready to dive into a beautifully created realm where the pace is fast and leaves you on the edge of your seat wanting more through the very end and beyond. It ventures through the scale of human, or not so human, emotions and has you rooting for your favorite characters as they navigate through trials and tribulations. This book kept me fully engaged and thoroughly entertained; it is to be devoured as savoring it slowly requires restraint! K.L. Anderson’s characters are funny, sweet, sassy, spicy and everything in-between. Cannot wait to see what the world of AshFiera has to offer next.
AshFiera (Ashfieran Duet book1) by KL Andersen is a romantic fantasy novel. This was an intriguing book. Something very different from what I have been reading lately. The plot was so interesting of a young woman growing up with no knowledge of who she really was and away from her true home realm. As things evolve she turns into a fiery FMC with a super fine MMC. The world building was fantastic. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to part two.
Take me back to the fantasy world, K.L. Anderson brought me back to my love of a hero and a kick-butt female. Easy read for late high school on to adulthood, with all action, some love and a pinch of spice. I will be on to look out for the second book as I have to know what Happens to Beauty and our Sassy Ashix.
the FMC was totally fierce and kickass! The story felt super modern, and there were so many secrets that got revealed. The world-building was on point, and the challenges kept me on the edge of my seat. I loved how the characters interacted with each other, too. But dude, that cliffhanger at the end! I can't wait for Book 2!
As someone who can’t focus of fantasy this is a close to it I can get, a paranormal romance. FMC escapes her realm and lands on earth to discover a new love and secrets that her parents have kept from her about her magical powers. Great read spice is on the mild side if you’re a dark romance reader
Raine is an amazing, strong, badass FMC who just does not give up. The writing is great and the storyline is easy to follow. This does end on a cliffhanger so I am excited to keep reading with the second book! Highly recommend to anyone who loves to read fantasy books.
The perfect blend of magic and real world technology. I was amazed by that. The character development is really good. You would think that you can't get many twists in fantasy novels but THIS , has muych twists. Which is good btw... And NO WAY it ended in a cliffhanger.
I flew through this book. Huge fan of K.L.'s books now that I've found them. Loveable and detailed characters, gorgeously described scenery, couldn't get enough!
So first off,the cover is what drew me to this book to begin with. Im a hellava sucker for anything dragon related. So I was like sign me up.
So I really love Kal so far 👌 definitely grade A man there. Raine is relatable with the humor and the constant cussing 🤣 her father, well let's just say i have some fighting words for him. An Zy,i wanna hate him but kept rereading that last part and if it means what I THINK it means. It means this series is going to a why choose or reverse harem with Zy and Kal as her mates 🫣🤔 but I'm still not happy with Zy but eh. Hating her father more atm.
I feel like the women in this series need to kick the men's butt's more 🤣🤣
All and all, loved the book. Definitely minimum spice though. Which I personally take no issues with.
-Pretty sure Kal is considered a shadow daddy (still new to the term though so i could very well be wrong but like come on. He's definitely all that and shadowy.) -No idea what Zy is,Definitely smelling an enemies to lovers thing. Possibly a forced marriage thing or mating? (Not sure if this universe allows two mates but I guess we'll see. Look i am addicted to why choose...the brain rot is real) -Theres definitely a hint of touch her and die 👌 -kick ass heroine, snarky and sassy ❤️
Call me crazy but: (“You're both my burger bitches now." I smiled menacingly.) Is my favorite qoute. Don't ask me why but it amuses me.
Now if you don't mind,I'm going to now sulk in the corner because it ended in a cliff hanger.

Arc kindly sent by the author
It's a fantasy with a very simple plot, but not for that not interesting!
The plot is very beautiful, and being the first book of a series I found it a good start.
The only flaw for me was the love story, really rushed. In my opinion it could have been developed in a second book, also because this one is very short and I would have preferred to have more information on the plot.
The female protagonist, Raina, is half witch and half fae. His father trained her from a young age to increase her strength and develop her powers. One day, however, his father suddenly disappeared.
I have to say that I found some beautiful twists!
The ending was absurd! Really very nice!
It's a nice book, very fluent and easily readable even for those who want to start reading in English
I devoured this book 📖 I can't help myself when a book captivates me from beginning to end. Was a good read. It is a wonderful world building, and the characters are amazingly well-developed.
Raine I love how baddas and fiercely she is. 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Kalpheus (Kal) What can I say about a baddas hot Daddy 🥵🥵🔥🔥🔥🔥
Raine is a young woman who is constantly trained hard by her father, who is hard on her to make her stronger every day even more. His father was upset when her power didn't come to her as he expected. One day, her father disappeared from one of his travels and was when all the intrigued were started to take place. Some assassins killed her mom and Raine running far away from... She found herself whisked away into a portal after falling over the ledge of a waterfall. Landing her in the middle of a living room in the human realm. Where she meets with her grandmother and her aunt.
Kalpheus was ordered to protect Raine from those who wanted to harm her. But Raine didn't know it. But suddenly something happens. He was in the woods when arrows started crossing on the way so close to the young woman he needed to protect. And without hesitating, he defended her, but when he looked over her, she disappeared from his eyes. In that moment, he realized she crossed the portal to the human world. He goes after her. He needs to ensure she is safe and protected. He stays on the shadows, always watching her and having her safe from assassins who are trying to get over her. He needs to find the proper way to introduce himself without scaring her. Also, he needs to calm down the desires that she woke up in him. He has been daydreaming with her since the first time he saw her running away.

Well written by the author. This book has me wanting more. Yesss ended with an unexpected cliffhanger. I was so submerged reading that I didn't see it coming... and now I will need to wait for the next book to be written 😩
I fall in love automatically. I will not say more go grab yours September 18th is the RELEASE DAY... I adore this book 🥰 another to have in my bookshelves.
I Highly Recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I received an advance free copy from the Author K.L. Andersen and I'm leaving this review voluntarily.
I really really enjoyed this book. I was caught up, right from chapter 1. The way the author describes the world, the colours, the smells, I really felt like I was in this magical world with the main character. I love the budding romance, the main female character growing and becoming herself. And the world building was so interesting. The only part I didn’t like was that it left on a cliff hanger, which was really disappointing. Can’t wait to read the next one!
