EMMETT

I’ve always wondered about her. I’ve always had questions.
When a single cup of coffee with a person from my past knocks my entire world from its axis, I’m left battling against my own mind and forced to move back home.
A chance encounter with my father’s business rival only adds to the questions and doubt that already exist inside of me.
He’s a monster.
He’s evil personified.
And he’s the only person who can make me feel alive.

NASH

I wanted to toy with him.
To be able to say that I held Colt Fowler’s son in my hand like putty.
They all see me as the villainous role that I’ve played for most of my life, and I’m happy to let them. I’m happy to play into exactly what they think I am.
He sees beyond my mask.
What was meant to be a game of catch and release quickly becomes something so much more than I could have expected, and I will never be the same.

Emmett and Nash

❣️Review does slight contain spoilers:❣️
Out of the three books in this series, this one was by far my favourite. It was extremely hard to read some of the thoughts inside Emmett’s head, it broke me. There was a lot going on with both MCs in this book and I felt like the story was fully developed and well rounded. I did get annoyed with Nash multiple times but I just think that he think that he is all that and a bag of chips. Colt and Emmett's relationship hit home with me and I love each interaction with them. I loved Rowan and Emmett's friendship too.

I don’t know where to start….

8 year old Emmett is adorable!! I’m glad we got a peek into his childhood. Uncle Davis, aka big brother Davis and aka second Dad Davis is fantastic but Colt… he is the rock. The one who takes care of everyone. I loved him in his book but I think I love him more after this one.

Emmett has grown up without a mom. He has this super fantastic Dad and Uncle Davis to help him grow up to be a good man. He struggles with mental illness but I don’t think he fully understands that’s what it is. He hides this from his family.

Nash… It was great to see inside of Nash. TBH I didn’t know how I was going to feel about him after Davis’s book. He started to win me over, disappointed me and then BAM I loved him after the bar scene.

Emmett realizes his attraction to Nash. He struggles with it because he is not gay. He does things to try to convince himself he is not gay. Nash knows there is attraction there and he wants to exploit it because why not go after Colt’s son right?

The character growth for both Emmett and Nash is amazing. The journey had me in tears. Do not skip the epilogues!!

This whole series is about accepting those you love no matter what. A must read!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

I have been eagerly awaiting Emmett's story for a long time and was fortunate to be asked to be on the ARC team. It definitely did not disappoint. I devoured it in one sitting.

This book is raw, heartwarming, funny, with just the right amount of spice. It shattered my heart and then put it back together. I loved Nash and Emmett together; despite the previous dislike for Nash in the series, he intruiged me from the start and their chemistry turned out to be perfect.

The potentially triggering subjects of depression, suicide attempts (on page), homophobia and religious trauma are handled with great sensitivity, but be prepared with tissues! 😭

Colt's care for Emmett was beautifully portrayed, as was his friendship with Rowan. And of course seeing Davis again is always great 😂 he'll always be my favourite! You definitely need to read their books before starting this one.

I would have loved to have seen more of Emmett's relationship, if any, with Liam. Secretly hoping he will get his own book 🤞

Tropes include:
✔️Enemies to lovers
✔️Billionaire/millionaire
✔️Age gap
✔️Bi awakening
✔️Forbidden
✔️Broken heroes

I'm not crying you're crying!

Emmett and Nash are everything

Emmett has spent his life just wanting to know his mom, wanting to know if she loves him, to know why she left and just wants his mom. After meeting her and learning she doesn't feel regret about leaving him, and feels no pull to be in his life he goes on a bender. After his dad discovers him he makes him move back home so he can keep an eye on him, then a few weeks later he learns how Emmett expresses self harm by holding himself under water and he moves him back in to watch him.

Nash after running into Emmett in a grocery store and seeing how bad he looks makes it his mission to find the fire in him, and can't help but to be attracted to him! Flirting with Emmett and bothering him just the right amount helps Emmett to slowly realize that he is bi, Nash had no plans to fall for Emmett but here he is tumbling head first into loving Emmett!

The last half of this book is so beautifully heart breaking to get them to their HEA, Nash and Emmett are both two flawed broken humans of truly just want to be loved and they become loved by the most unlikely person 🖤 Aubrey has truly written another beautiful story

The emotions are high in this one! I really got sucked in and couldn't put this down. I needed to know where the shoe was going to drop, and man, did my heart drop.
Emmett is a successful young man surrounded by his loving family, minus one. And that leads to lots of unresolved feelings and emotions. The things he went through, I felt like I was a Ro in this book, pulling for him to open up. I was very surprised to see more of Davis's character in this book as well, to me like a funcle in a way.
Nash, the bully rival. I wanted to hate him for many reasons, but underneath all of his layers and "masks," he showed us who he could be with the right person. I definitely shed some tears, but the spice was spicing 🔥 and I'm here for it!
Thank you, Aubrey, for allowing me to be a part of the ARC team in return for my honest review.

Oh sweet sweet Emmett. I felt so sorry for him. My heart was squeezed several times while reading and I shed a tear here and there. He is so sweet and has been through shit because of his mother. I felt so sorry for him.

I was so positively surprised by this book and by these tropes. Haven't read very many books like this and this one touched me deeply. I am always so grateful with my life again when I read the difficulties some people face in their lives. While reading, I wished I could take away Emmett's pain. He stole my heart.

This was another great book by Aubrey. I always love her books, this one is no exception. The pacing was perfect, the spice amazing, the story touching and the HEA fantastic. It was great to return to the world of Colt and Davis. Definitely a 5 star read for me!

Genre: Forbidden Romance

When two people, both struggling with the idea of love, find themselves inseparable - it’s a wild journey to work through those emotions. On very opposite spectrums it’s a wonderful story from both perspectives. Fighting your inner demons because you have a dark mind. It was depicted so well throughout the entire book.

The story had very heavy topics but they’re real life things. Things I absolutely related to. I was rooting for Emmett the whole time and I cried real tears for him.

Aubrey Hawke has a captivating way of holding your attention in her story telling. This is book 3 of the series and the entire journey here was riveting. I didn’t go anywhere without my books. I HAD to know what was going to happen next!!

I was desperate for Emmett’s story after reading Colt and Davis. I can tell you now it was worth the wait and I was not disappointed. I adored the fact that as usual the other characters we’ve met along the way also made an appearance in Emmett & Nash’s book. It makes it feel like the family is back together again.

My heart really felt for Emmett and what he’d been through, Aubrey did an amazing job of conveying my his struggles on the page, it was an emotional journey that left me a little bit broken. But I can assure you it was well and truly put back together in the end.

I absolutely devoured this. I’ve been not-so-patiently awaiting Emmett’s book, and it’s officially my favorite of the series. Emotional, heartfelt, funny, spicy, and my favorite enemies to lovers trope - Aubrey does a great job showing how quickly mental health can spiral, especially when we’re dealing with unresolved trauma.

Emmett and Nash have great chemistry and I loved them together. I wanted more of them; especially as a couple. You definitely need to read Colt & Davis before Emmett or you’ll be missing some key details essential to his story. Make sure to grab your tissues if you’re a crier also 😭

I have been eagerly awaiting the story of Emmett for a while now. Aubrey, you have done an exceptional job of telling the story with sensitivity and understanding. The representation in this book is diverse and inclusive, tackling many of the struggles people face today. The raw emotion woven into each chapter is palpable. This is an unforgettable story that has been a pleasure to read from start to finish. While it is sad to see the series end, I am fulfilled by the satisfying conclusion. I give this book and the series a well-deserved 10 out of 10 recommendation for anyone seeking a read in this genre. Please check your triggers before reading.

“Emmett” is the painful but liberating process of accepting one’s identity and choosing emotional honesty over self-protection. The story focuses on what it costs to keep running from yourself and what it takes to stop. Emmett’s journey is about lowering defenses, risking vulnerability, and allowing real connection and love, even when it feels unsafe. That’s why it lands so hard. The emotions are quiet but precise, the growth feels earned, and the warmth comes from honesty rather than drama. The book stays with you because it mirrors a fear most people recognize but rarely face head-on.

THIS BOOK GAVE ALL THE FEELS

I have never laughed, cried, swooned, and screamed so much in one book before! The way these characters break your heart just to repair it better than it was before is incredible ❤️ It's heavy topics were so well written by the author in ways that made the story so real but so beautiful in overall. I definitely recommend this entire series to anyone who loves a spicy contemporary romance. Check your triggers

Read this in two sittings, because I had a hard time putting it down. The story moves very quickly but thoughtfully handles a depiction of untreated depression, among other things. The 'spicy' scenes were a good augment to the plot, and I genuinely cared about Emmett throughout. I do wish there had been a biiiiit more of the relationship between the two MCs developing, it seems like a good chunk of it happened "off-screen" so I was reeling a little bit at how emotionally invested they became so quickly.

I loved the glimpses of the past from both characters, but especially from Nash. I'm such a sucker for an asshole with a squishy marshmallow center, and boy does he deliver. Overall, a solid read, enough that I'll go back and read through the rest of the series.
