Last night 41-year-old Summer Rodriguez was an author on the brink of fame, engaged to her rich fiance, and living a dream life in New York City.
Today, she is none of those things.
Heartbroken and confused, Summer retreats to the island she abandoned twenty years ago, seeking solace in a place far away from her current chaos. Facing her "perfect" sister and a mother steeped in resentment seems almost bearable—as long as they don't find out about her crumbling life.
But as reconnecting with old friends, past loves, and the familiarities of home begins to spark her spirit, daunting news from her publisher is She has 90 days to out-sell her first two books combined, or her career is over.
Desperate to reclaim her life before the whole town discovers her failures, Summer finds herself at a crossroads. Is she able to save her career and restore her former life? Or, more importantly, does she even want to?

Summer is getting ready for her next book release party and is on top of the world. Little does she know, by the end of the night, her world will crash. To start off, the party isn't like her last two release parties, her agent isn't there and neither is the usual crowd. After leaving, all she wants to do is go home and sleep, Trent, her fiance, drops her off and tells her he is going for something to eat. Later she awakes to hear the shower, and she goes to check on him. When she picks up his shirt she finds a note which suggest he had gone out for more then food. Now Summer doesn't know what to do. A chance meeting with a woman at an all night store gets her thinking of going back to St George's Island and seeing her mother and sister. Will she go or stay and try to make things work with Trent?
I am loving this new series. Can’t wait to see what the future holds for Summer. She is desperate for her new book to do very well or chances are her publisher will drop her. Not only that but she just discovered her fiancé has been having an affair with what she thought was her best friend and on top of that she works for her publisher. Can it get any worse? You will need to read it to find out. Thanks June Woods for the chance to read and review your stories.
Summer needs her third book to do well, or her publisher will drop her. That same night she learns that her rich fiancé is cheating on her with her best friend who also works for her publisher. Her life is in chaos. She decides to go home and visit her family that she hasn't seen in years and tries to hide her messy life. I can't wait to see where this goes. I received an advanced reader copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.
I nice beginning to a new series. Summer is an author trying to get her new book published. She is also engaged, but finds out he is cheating on her. Can’t wait to see how things work out for her. A great read that will keep you interested. Looking forward to the next book. I received this as an arc and I am leaving my honest review
What a way to start a new serial! I’m going to state right here that Summer better hold firm and keep Trent out of her life. She’s fortunate that he’s just a fiancée, not a husband. I look forward to seeing what she learns about herself, her family, and life when she’s back home. Have a feeling we might need to fasten our seatbelts for a bumpy ride.
Book 1 is a delightful start to this new series. I really like Summer's character and the focus on rebuilding her life story line. Love the writing! I see alot happening in the following books with plenty of twists to keep you turning pages. I'm here for it ALL!!!
This first book is better than a lot of others. So far, I’m caught up in the story, even though I think Summer is crazy for even thinking she and Trent need to get back together, but I’m anxious to see what happens next.
This was a great start to learn about Summer and the troubles with her cheating fiancé and her writing going by the wayside and taking a trip back home to family. Thank you for this excellent story.
This was an interesting and well written story. I especially liked that the main character Summer was a published author. I am an avid reader and it was interesting to read a book written from that prospective. Looking forward to book 2. I received this ARC with the intent that I give a review.
