Such a great super-soldier series!

Story/Plot: 📕📗📙
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌏
Character development: ☹️☺️😊😍

The Hero: Logan (a.k.a. The Trainer) - he was kidnapped as a thirteen-year-old boy, by a crazy general who was trying to create a team of super soldiers. The general and the other people that worked for “The Company”, experimented on the boys to create The Dregs, a new kind of soldier. The boys were kept prisoner in cells with only their cell mate to talk to. The ones that survived, developer supernatural abilities and a deep bond with their cell mate. Noah and Logan became best friends and leaned on each other through the worst times. They have since escaped captivity and live in a maze deep below a crumbling mansion on a Georgia plantation. The Company is still searching for them, and they have some gangs after them as well, hired by The Company and wanting to get back at the Dregs for what happened in the earlier books.

“I became one of the chosen. A rare breed. One of the few soldiers with special “powers.” I had the uncanny ability to learn—to understand and speak —any language after only hearing a few sentences spoken in that language. My brain was like a built-in translator.”

“The soldiers attacked me then. Blow after painful blow. They taught me a lesson I would never forget.
Don’t fall in love. Never have a weakness.”

“Noah ended up being my permanent partner. He stuck beside me. Supported me. He was a good guy. The best, in fact. He was also one of the chosen and ended up with a special talent of his own. He, like me, was a rare breed. A dreg. Together, Noah and I persevered. We overcame all the obstacles that were thrown at us. He gave me the strength to move on.”

The heroine: Nishi - she is daughter of Katashi Yamamoto the Lord of the Black Dragons gang. They are one of the large gangs that have taken over in Augusta Georgia. They are deadly because of their training and fighting style like Ninja’s of old. She grew up with a single mother in Japan, until she was sixteen and her father stole her away and forced her to become a shadow warrior. Nishi has wanted to escape the gang ever since and finally sees her chance when a new member of the gang is assigned as her guard, and he want her more than he fears her father. She uses his lust for her to knock him out and escapes on his watch. She knows she must escape now, as she just found out that her father has auctioned off her virginity and hand in marriage to the leader of one of the other gangs, so that he can get more power through an alliance.

“I had been planning my escape for eight years now. Eight years.
Every prior attempt had never gotten beyond the thinking stage. Because there really was no way to escape my father.
But tonight, during fight practice, I had overheard a terrifying secret. And the painful, bitter truth had struck home.
If I didn’t find some way to escape soon, I would never be free.”

“I wasn’t supposed to know about the auction or the arranged marriage—probably so I wouldn’t attempt to escape like I was doing right now—but I had a secret of my own that even my father didn’t know about.
I was multi-lingual. I could speak English. Mama had made sure I learned not only her native language of Hindi, but also my father’s language of Japanese, and she’d wanted me to know English as well. As a result, my English was as good as my Hindi and my Japanese. Perhaps better.
My father thought I could only speak Hindi and Japanese. And I let him think that. No one in his gang knew I could speak English. Eavesdropping on conversations became a game to me. No one knew I understood what they were saying.
I was a good spy.”

The story: During the years Logan was held by The Company, they had also held women against their will, wanting the dregs to breed with the women in order to use the resulting children as the next level of super-soldier. Logan fell in love with the female he was assigned to, a Japanese woman named Himari, but they ended up being punished when he refused to get her pregnant. The General killed Himari in front of Logan. Now that Logan was free, after many of his Dreg brothers had fallen in love and moved away from the plantation where they hide, he remembers how amazing it was to have a woman’s love, but he refused endanger another woman.

Logan makes a trip to Eatonton for groceries one night, Nishi slips into the bed of his truck at a gas station. When he finds her, he doesn’t know what to do with her. He takes her to a hotel and gives her money for a few days, but he can’t stop thinking about the beautiful girl. When he calls her room to talk to her, he overhears the Black Dragons finding her and knows at once he made a mistake. Nishi is caught by her father and his men who, she finds out, have been paid a lot of money to kill all the Dregs, and they know she was dropped off at the hotel by one of the Dregs.

I loved the fact that Nishi was just a tiny woman, but she had a lot of fight in her. She was used to sparring and training with her fathers' men, who never took it easy on her. After recapturing her, she had to endure torture as a punishment for escaping but they also used it to try to get any information she had on Logan, or the dregs and she withstood it without telling them anything. I also liked the fact that she was open and gregarious with Logan, she was a very likable heroine.

Like all the previous books, there was a lot of action and scenes of the dregs coming up against their enemies. It seems to me that as soon as the guys get rid of one enemy or group of enemies, that more just pop up. In this book there are still some shareholders behind the super-soldier project that want them dead, then there are the Black Dragon’s who are being paid by the shareholders to kill the Dregs, and Malik, the head of the Rapster’s gang, who wanted them dead for killing his brother, and now has more of a reason to want them dead, since he was the one who purchased Nishi and planned to marry her. Though I did get bored during a few parts of this book. I think it might just have been my mood, but it didn’t happen during the first four books in this series.

I am such a huge fan of Leslie Georgeson that it doesn't surprise me how great her books are. This series is no different and I enjoy every minute of these books. This one is just as good as the others and I love that I get to read them. If you haven't read her other books you really should read this series as well as the others that she has written.

These guys in this series are amazing and she gives them girls who are just as amazing as they are. I enjoyed this book so much and I am sure you will too. These guys have to be so careful but they will go to extreme lengths to help pretty much who needs to be helped knowing they could lose their lives by doing so. This book is no different and it's a wonderful read.

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is the 5th book in the series. They can be read as a standalone, but it is better to read from the start as it references to other past characters. I love this series, the closeness that the Dregs have, the loyalty. This is about Trainer (Logan) and Nishi. He is strong, alpha, and closed off to relationships. When he meets Nishi who is on the run hiding from her father who is the head of the dragons gang. She is strong, trained as a fighter but is a small woman. When Logan and her meet sparks fly and they don't trust each other. Will they learn to trust each other? Will he keep her safe? Will he let her in? It Is worth the read. It is well written, well thought out has a great storyline and the characters are fantastic. I recommend it to all. I received it as an arc and voluntarily left my review.

Absolutely awesome. I can’t decide now which book in this series I love the most. They keep getting better and better. I can’t wait to see what comes next. This one involved the only gang the Dregs hadn’t yet been really involved with, and they’re masters themselves being of Asian beginnings. Think of Bruce Lee going head to head w ( I don’t know) the Avengers since the Dregs each have special skills. Then thrown in a tiny Bruce Lee in female form that reaches out to one of the shyest Dregs for help. Explosive but delicious too. You’ll see a couple old friends from previous books in the series but you don’t have to read them before this one since this one can easily stand alone. Then be prepared for not being able to put the book down until done cause it throws so many exciting curves you can’t wait to see what happens next . Fantastic read

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "THE TRAINER" OMG!!!! What an amazing rollercoster ride full of intense drama, suspense, intrigue, action, kidnapping, violence, humor, hot steamy sensual scenes. Leslie Georgeson did a fantastic writing this love story for Logan who was just a sweetheart and Nishi who you just wanted to pick up and hug she was so innocent, sheltered, naive, outspoken, blunt, strong willed, a fighter, and just a little spitfire I just loved her and Logan together. This is absolutely a must read the Dreg Series is addicting I can't wait to read the next time book it's Noah's story "THE HACKER". I definitely recommend to get this book the whole series is so well written each with their own unique storyline and awsome charters,

Logan decided to become celibate because The Company killed his lover when he was being experimented on. Nishi escaped from her father the head of the black dragons a gang after she found that he sold her virginity to another leader of another gang. She jumped into Logan’s truck bed to keep trying to get away. But he put her in a hotel room and her father got her again but the dregs got her back. Then senator Collins trying to capture the dregs and kill them but finally he was dead. Nishi challenged her father to a death match and she won. Logan and Nishi went to join the others in Idaho. Another great ending, sorry to say there were a couple of times I cried.

Logan and Nishi

I am getting close to the end of this series and it's making me sad. I have enjoyed every book so far and love that there's not a lot of stupid girls running straight toward danger over and over again just because she's butthurt over something ridiculous or because she don't need no man...blah, blah, blah. I think this is my favorite one so far. Nishi has an innocence that is charming and Logan isn't afraid to be a man in love. Read them all in the correct order to get the most out of the series.

The Trainer

Logan is filling his truck up with gas when he gets an unsuspected surprise in the back of his truck. Nishi has just escaped from her father who had held her prisoner for 8 years. When Logan finds her in the back of his truck he takes her to a motel to stay and gives her some money and his phone number. They many exciting and dangerous adventures as they get to know each other.

I loved this series of books… I loved the guys of course, drool worthy imaginary yum-Yums. I really don’t know who was my favorite character personality but all books are well worth the read…
I enjoyed the origina lity of the Dregs and the story behind their training and was furious with the abuses they endured.
I had a hard time putting each of the stories down I spent most of the week on many short sleep nights… but well worth it.

The Trainer (military romantic suspense) is the fifth book in The Dregs series and tells what happens when Logan meets Nishi.

The characters are strong, intelligent, and well developed. The storyline is well written and captured my attention from the start, with The Black Dragons, action, suspense, death, and passion.

I read and reviewed this book with no obligation.

Logan and Nishi ~ another combustible pair! A spin on Romeo and Juliet: the Dregs vs the Black Dragons ~ Nishi is a trained ninja; Logan is a Dreg. 'Nuff said. Chemistry abounds . . . but to almost lose our warriors during these fights . . . we've already lost Gordon; I hope the rest will remain 'safe' {I think so, because there are eight books ~ and eight Dregs! ;-) }

Good story and plot. However some content redundant. Keeps repeating things over and over and over. Gets a little irritating. Otherwise good book.
