Control is everything… until you find someone worth surrendering to. After studying metal magic in posh British universities, Oliver Brass proudly becomes a wizard. Unfortunately, he barely has time to celebrate when a family scandal sends his world into chaos and his powers spiral out of control. A stiff upper lip isn’t helping, so the metal mage turns to a provocative professor to tame his magic—and his body.
A charming educator by day and a dirty dom by night, Liam Monroe has the unique ability to magically master a willing partner. Liam demands obedience, and even though Oliver may never stop blushing, he and his powers are eager to comply.
Both men are thoroughly satisfied until dragons drop in, determined to make the wizard pay for the sins of his family. Oliver must reign in his malfunctioning abilities if he has any hope of stopping the vengeful beasts… or keeping Liam. Can Oliver be bold enough to fight for his man, or will the dragons burn it all down?
Bold as Brass features an innocent mage being ‘corrupted,’ a witty literature professor who also happens to be a wicked dominant, shamelessly perverted moon rituals, literal and magical power exchange, finding strength in unexpected places, and romantic moonlit confessions.
This is the third book in the Elementally Yours series of magical gay romances. Each book features different characters and can be read alone.
F.N. Manning writes the One More Thing and Ward Magic series while living in a small town on the North Carolina coast and not going to the beach enough. The author loves complex characters and cancelled TV shows. F.N. makes the world gayer by writing one M/M romance novel at a time.
well written, read the author ‘s notes regarding bdsm elements
Review: 4🌈
Bold As Brass (Elementally Yours Book 3) by FN Manning is a well written, well executed paranormal romance. I thought Manning did a good job of explaining why Oliver Brass, brother and son to the Brasses held responsible for the crimes in book 1, makes the decisions he does here with regard to his magic and the use of a D/s relationship with respect to his control.
There’s a very good author’s note about this element. Read it carefully. This story incorporates a realistic D/s relationship between two people, one of which is older than the other. If this isn’t an element that you enjoy reading about, you might want to skip the book.
For me, I found I didn’t connect with these characters as I had with the other couples in the preceding novels. I’m not sure why, because a D/s relationship isn’t an issue for me. Nor the difference in ages. Although the fact that (but not truly ) they almost rode the line between student and professional life is slightly troubling. It was addressed by the author.
I think that I felt that there wasn’t enough of a real connection between them to account for the sudden admission of deep love that happens.
That could be a difference of perspective. Another reader might think it’s fine.
I do wish there was more information about what exactly went on towards the end. A resolution about what happened to fix everything . Instead we get a dinner and a HFN. It didn’t feel entirely satisfactory.
All in all, Bold As Brass (Elementally Yours Book 3) by FN Manning was well written but needed a better wrap up.
Elementally Yours: Frost or The Bite #1 Strikes Twice #2 Bold As Brass #3
This is a great new entry in Manning’s Elementally Yours fantasy series. Oliver Brass is part of a family recently convicted of supernatural crimes. His father is in prison, his mother is on probation, blocked from using her magic, living with Oliver. Oliver is (apparently) the only innocent member of the family, but many consider him guilty by association. He’s also experiencing difficulty with controlling his metal brand magic, and seeks out Liam Monroe, a night brand and Dom, for assistance.
Oliver and Liam enter into an agreement for the period of a moon cycle, with Liam having control of Oliver’s powers, unless Oliver is in imminent danger. When Oliver is attacked by dragons who demand his family make good on what was stolen, he’s confused – and able to defend himself.
The story is complex, and engrossing. Liam and Oliver’s relationship deepens beyond their initial agreement, and family dynamics are involved in subplots. I had trouble putting it down!

This is the third book in the Elementary Yours series and it canbe enjoyed as a standalone. This is the story of Oliver Brass and Liam Monroe. Oliver is a metal mage who has lost control of his powers. His world has been upended by the family scandal that left his father in prison and his mom on probation. People are mad about their lost money and Oliver is the only one that they can take their anger out on. Liam is a literature professor as well as a Dom. He is estranged from his family and considered a deviant by them. Liam Monroe also has the unique ability to control a person’s body and magic. This is exactly what Oliver needs. The two agree to work together for a month. This is their story. The book is written well and is easy to read. When problems with dragons arrive, the two work together to solve it. Evenif it isn't a problem of their own making. I enjoyed this book.

I liked his solution for helping his magic. That it ends up with him falling in love with Liam is great. I think Liam and Oliver are mates in the true sense. I liked how Oliver used their powers to save Liam and how their negotiations went to settle the debt that wasn't theirs.
This is the third book in the Elementally Yours series and it is another great addition, I really liked Oliver and Liam as characters and the story kept my attention from the beginning to the end it was well written and I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.
Elementally Yours, as a series, embraces the concept of magic being tied, attached, to an element. It has to be handled, managed, used by the one it. is attached to or it can become wild.
In this third book in the series, which can be read as a standalone, it will just mean you aren't as aware of the back story but since it is just that and F. N. Manning weaves in relevant mentions where needed there is no need to read the first books if this one appeals.
This is Oliver and Liam taking centre stage though in truth there is probably only of the pair who would like that... Oliver has magic, metal magic but it has stopped obeying him after a scandal involving his family. There is one man who may be able to help. Liam. Only Liam is a lecturer and Oliver doesn't really want to be seen on campus where whispers and rumours follow him. An initial meeting leaves both deciding a mentorship won't work but when Oliver has to go back the same evening to track down a lost watch, a family heirloom, the sight that greets him is both entirely unexpected and incredibly sexy.
It leaves Oliver with the most vivid dreams, a crush on Liam which may not be requited until he realises what he needs to do, what Liam is. And that is a charming professor, weidler of special skills and a dom. Not any dom though, he can control magic and the body of his lovers. This most unexpected pairing seems to be going places until dragons with a score they want to settle, unsettle all the pair are building. Can Oliver find his inner bold, control his magic and save his man?
On one level this story is shameless, on another it is tender and generous. It is also full of angst and strife but more so with the dragons than the lovers. It is a layered, exciting, erotic and exotic story that will keep you engaged from start to finish.
