Taste of Commitment

Knox

I was Rugby Men's 15s player of the year. Now? After an injury, I'm back home in Stoney Meadow at my family's inn after dedicating my life to rugby. My only goal is to recover enough to get back to the sport that made me.

That is until a chance encounter with an out-of-towner begins to tempt me.

I might have lost everything when I took that hit, but the more time I spend with this girl, the more I realize just how little I had to begin with.

Taylor

Booking a last-minute trip to Emerald Browning Cottage was just supposed to be a spontaneous adventure.

Experience Ireland. Try new foods. See new sights.

The one thing I wasn't anticipating? Knox Browning.

Catching feelings was not on my list of adventures, but every day that I spend with the Irish rugby player, the more I have to face the one thing that I something in me wants to stay here. This is starting to feel less like an adventure, and more like a home.

In Taste of Commitment, Taylor Nova gets a taste of the one thing she unknowingly yearns for most, while Knox navigates defeat and loss, trying to find his purpose in the town that raised him.

In each other, they both discover what it truly means to belong.

DNF'd at 18%

He's a mega rugby superstar who's been playing professionally for almost 18 years yet when he comes back to his tiny home town he's on Bell boy duty at his parents' inn.
I mean, it's cute to be somewhat unrealistic for the sake of fiction but from there to be completely delusional is a different matter.

She flashes him, accidentally, during their first meet. They flirt shamelessly, take too many liberties and cross boundaries within the first 24 hours of knowing each other 🙄 nobody acts like that with complete strangers, and it's not that they're looking for a ONS it's the fact that they're acting as longtime friends with easy familiarity as soon as they meet.

This story is so unrealistic and was doing nothing for my reading sanity. So Bye.

I loved this book so much!

THE BANTER!!!!!!!!!
The tension!
I am a sucker for banter and this was chefs kiss!
THE FCK IT MOMENT!!!!
I loved ALL of the characters.
The whole world that is Stoney Meadow is everything.
I laughed, I cried, and the way their love story comes to life is everything. The spice was impeccable, so bonus points there! I couldn’t wait to get back to reading every night after putting my kids to bed. This is one of my favorite reads of the year. It kept me wanting to read more and now I’m sad that it’s over. I think this is gonna be a re-read. It just scratched my brain in all the right ways 👏🏼 this is a book I will shove down everyone’s throat. Prepare to be sickuhhhmeeeee.

Taylor- our little fellow squirrel brain, ADHD gworl. God, I loved her so much. She is me, I am she, we are we. I could relate to the way her brain operated so much and it was refreshing. I love the way Michelle writes her characters. Taylor has been a fav of mine since Art of Convenience and I’m so glad I still loved her throughout this whole book. The way she finds her home 🥹 goodbye.

Knox- HOT. Hot hot hot. His character was so good!! Complexities intertwined into this masculine manly character. PERFECTION! I typically am put off by an MMC being so direct and flirty, but gahhhhdamn. This was so well done!!! Bravo, Michelle! You made us all fall in love with a fictional rugby player. Thank you.

Basically, I want to leave the real world and crawl inside of this book.

It was such a sweet, comforting read. I love their love story, I love this world, I love all of the characters and their dynamics. I loved it.

LOVED IT!

thank you so much to michelle carrero for the arc!

4.5/5 ★

i had the absolute most fun reading this ahh i’ve been waiting for this one since i read art of convenience and it did not disappoint!

taylor and knox were everything and more! their immediate connection and compatibility was so good because you can just tell how much they both needed each other and their town! the bantering, flirting, emotional talks, and spice was so so so good!

i loved taylor so so much and her commitment issues and adhd rep was so refreshing to see and honestly so relatable (no spoilers but so many scenes of her adhd habits hit close to home!) she just had so much love to give and it warmed my heart, her consistent love for camilla and her family, jonas, knox and the town, esp isla it made me love her 1000x more and feel for her bc ireland was everything she needed and more! her love for cooking was also the best and made for such great healing moments :( her backstory also makes me incredibly sad and just so grateful she is surrounded by so much love now!

knox omg get yourself a huge rugby irish flirty man who calls you love! i immediately fell in love with him and his flirty ways hehe i think it was really nice to see another mmc who was so sure and secure with what they wanted (even if he might’ve seemed confused career wise) his constant reassurance to taylor (or should i say nova) made me so so happy he was always so understanding and supportive of her when she was worried and self-hateful over her adhd (like spoiler free but come on he does so many things for her that make me swoon) the definition of down bad! the way he also just grew as well made me so happy, going from being resentful for his career injury situation to being so welcome to staying in town with his loved ones and loving his new job :’) i love him!!!

taylor and knox have amazing scenes honestly such cute wholesome scenes, amazing flirty banter, and also the spice!!!! oh i need to rant about that because it was so so good! i also love the found family forming! the third act conflict was written so well and truly emphasized how taylor thinks and i loved how it was handled and how knox dealt with it! also the epilogues were absolutely everything!! i can’t wait for the next book and if it’s who and what i think it is i already know i’m going to love it <3

michelle has become an auto-read author for me and i’m so so grateful for this arc! i really enjoyed the way the mental health rep was handled and also enjoyed the way so many of the connections between characters was written like knox and his students or taylor with camilla and isla!

I definitely TOOK MY TIME when it came to reading this book. I absolutely adored both Taylor & Knox.

This book was definitely a different kind of pace for me and I felt as if this story was very refreshing. The banter was definitely one of my favorite parts of books, Taylor is funny asf and she won me over right off the bat. Knox has a mouth on this, that I was also here for 🥵🤭

Although this is a slow burn when the spice hit? It was GOODT

Oh Knox Browning the man that you are!

This was such a fun read! I loved that it entirely took place in Ireland. The scene Michelle set was stunning and I could actually visualize it when reading.

The characters were also so fun. I don’t think there was an unlikable character in this book and the family aspect of the entire town was what made this book. It truly felt the foundation.

I really saw myself in Taylor. And seeing her accept and understand herself fully was so special. Seeing her loved by so many people for exactly who she is was what everyone dreams of. I’m glad she got it.

Now Knox was a dream and he will be a top tier book boyfriend to everyone who reads this book. He was calm and kind. Gentle and understanding. He loved deeply even when he was in a situation he didn’t love for himself.

You also got a couple snippets on Camila and Miles which is always so fun!

There were so many potential stories she could have created from this fun town and I’m sad to see them go!

Thank you Michelle for an arc of this one! I truly enjoyed it! Get it everywhere 10/24!

"She barrel-rolled into my life one night in the middle of a storm, which is ironic, considering she's been the sunshine on my darkest days. The perfect little puzzle piece that I hadn’t realized I was missing, but, I’ve never felt more complete than I do in this moment."

Michelle Carrero is a new-to-me author I discovered last month. I was lucky to receive an ARC of her newest book, Taste of Commitment (the second book in the Whisky and Risky Duology). It follows the story of Taylor and Knox.

I loved the dedication of this book and resonated with it a lot.

For anyone who’s ever felt lost — Keep going. Really cool shit happens in the journey to finding yourself.

I lost myself in Taylor and Knox's story and thought it was beautifully written.

The banter between them was perfect!

I adored Taylor and found her to be a relatable FMC. I resonated a lot with her and felt seen. My heart hurt for Taylor, after learning about her childhood and I cannot imagine what that must have been like for her to go through, but I am in awe of her strength after everything she has endured. She has a heart of gold, and her loyalty knows no bounds. I loved seeing Taylor's journey of self-discovery, finding her purpose and gaining a sense of belonging made my heart happy.

I loved Knox! He was the perfect book boyfriend. My heart broke for him as he struggled after experiencing an injury while also feeling like his identity had been taken away from him. He is trying to figure out who he is outside of rugby. I am so happy Knox found his way back to himself after everything he experienced.

Seeing Taylor and Knox discover what it means to belong was everything.

This book had me wanting to buy a plane ticket to Ireland, and explore the beautiful countryside!

I loved everything about this book and cannot wait to see what Michelle comes out with next!

Thank you so much to Michelle Carrero for this ARC 💚

Taylor is just a girl trying to figure out her place in the world and what better way to do that than to travel a thousand miles to Ireland. She hopes that this spontaneous adventure will help spark something in her .. but there was one adventure she didn’t see coming and his name happens to be Knox Browning. Knox on the other hand is just trying to navigate life again after a soul crushing injury ends his Rugby career. The Emerald Browning Cottage seems like a great place to start some soul searching. 😏

First off, there is just something about the way Michelle has written the FMCs in this series and how they are so relatable. These aren’t women who are perfect and have it all together, but instead are the ones who are struggling to find their path in life and basically just put up a front for others. Some of the things Taylor goes through and feels hits close to home .. in a way it’s kind of refreshing and validating cause it makes me feel seen/understood. Next! I have to say that the banter in this whole book was PERFECT 😍 and if you know me I am a sucker for good banter. From the start, the chemistry between Taylor and Knox was amazing and how they were able to go back and forth with each other without missing a beat was so satisfying. I was literally giddy and giggling throughout the book.

First and foremost, I want to thank Michelle for providing me with the ARC for this book! This was my first ARC and I am so grateful that I got the opportunity to review this for a bookstagrammer that I have been following for sometime.

This was such a cozy, small-town romance! I was able to read this book in one sitting. I throughly enjoyed learning more about Knox, I thought that he was a well-developed character that tackled numerous hardships throughout the story. I additionally love the tension between him and Taylor. Taylor is a free spirit, trying to find her way. Although, I believe in some aspects it felt as though she lacked in development and I wanted to see her in a more vulnerable light.

I love how Michelle includes aspects of mental health within her novels. In this particular novel, Taylor struggles with her ADHD. I think this was a great aspect to the book, but at certain points the mention of her ADHD felt forced. This may have been a personal preference however, I wish that this was delivered more organically to contribute to her character development.

Overall, I thought this was a great follow-up to the Art of Convenience and it was great to see how the characters all remained connected throughout the duology.

I look forward to the next novel Michelle has up her sleeve!

Knox Browning? New book boyfriend.
Taylor Nova? New fictional bff and massive girl crush.

Taylor left California to travel to Ireland. It was just supposed to be an adventure. But it turned into growth, love and found family. There were so many sweet and funny moments in this story and I instantly fell in love with all of the characters!

Knox is a huge teddy bear and has a sweet spot for Taylor. I loved how attentive and patient he was with her. Taylor let her walls down with Knox which she doesn’t tend to do. She doesn’t let anyone close to her besides her best friend Camila but when Knox comes along, her adventure takes a big turn.

Michelle absolutely crushed her second novel and I can’t wait to see what she writes next!!

I freaking loved every minute of this book! After meeting Taylor in Art of Convenience, I was excited to see her get her HEA. I loved that this story took place in Ireland and how well the community embraced Taylor immediately.

Knox was a dreamboat of a man who loved Taylor for exactly who she was. He didn’t try to change her or put her down, he just wanted to understand her and help make her life easier. He was my first Rugby MMC and he and his thick thighs did NOT disappoint.

Taylor was such a relatable FMC. I found so much of myself in her. I loved how much she opened herself up and grew throughout the story. She was so supportive and instrumental in showing Knox that he was more than just a famous Rugby player.

This beautiful story depicted two lost people finding themselves in the midst of finding each other.

I am so happy that I got to read Taylor’s story early!! Thank you @ for providing me with an ARC of this book.

As much as I was hoping to see Taylor and Jonas end up together, Taylor and Knox are so much better! I love the fact that Taylor knew something was missing in her life, so she decided to do something about it, rather than just chalk it up to her ADHD. While this is a slow burn, I will say there is plenty of banter and tension to keep you hanging on. I love that we could really feel Knox and Taylor’s relationship unfold, while also really getting to know the friends and family members involved. Also, Jonas, Miles and Camila cameos 😍😍

listen, i’m south african.
rugby is to us the way football is to americans.
so *of course* i want to read about rugby players & their thick thighs.

enter knox browning—pro rugby player turned coach who wears his hat backwards and has golden retriever energy. he’s back at his family’s inn after a career-ending injury, navigating his options and trying to find his purpose outside of rugby.

and then our fmc, taylor, who is an absolute chaotic force and we love that about her. she is cheeky, independent, allergic to commitment, and just so real and relatable. she booked a trip to ireland after watching a movie and honestly, i support that decision a 100% lol.

i loved knox and taylor’s immediate connection and flirty banter. and the way he constantly reassured her had my heart swooning!
THE HOT TUB SCENE >>>
the jonas cameos were very much appreciated.
the on-page texts had me cackling.
and the tension between liv + liam was literal perfection (starting a petition for their book!!!)
oh and knox’s full-circle moment was EVERYTHING.

taste of commitment is an all-round book that is heartwarming and hopeful; and has the perfect balance of swoon, sweet and spice.

read if you like—
* small town, irish countryside setting
* found family
* he falls first
* age gap
* adhd rep

HUGE thank you to michelle for sending me the arc ahead of release day!

ps. best read wearing your favorite, worn-in pair of sweatpants.

Listen book one in the Whisky & Risky Duology will always be my fave but this one came close to taking that place.

I loved Taylor in Art of Convenience! So I was super looking forward to her book!
This book did not disappoint. Knox and Taylor together was a dream. I loved that he accepted her and embraced her little quirks that came with her ADHD as strengths!

Taylor cracked me up in this book and tbh I wasn't surprised because she did that for me in book 1. She's just funny and perfect to me. Definitely the type of friend you want in your corner.
I'm a sucker for found family and this book was one of the best l've read with that trope. & the spice was 😏

Anyways if you haven't read book 1, go download it and read it. Taste of Commitment is out Ocotber 24th!

absolutely ADORE these characters!!! loved Taylor from the first line in book 1, and getting to be inside her mind for her own book was such a joy!!

always love a romance where the two MC’s can come together and form a bond regardless of their individual struggles in life. this book felt like the perfect mix of each characters individual growth as well as their relationship growing together!

the writing, just like in the first book, was so smooth and effortless. love reading a book that feels like a natural flow of conversation in my head!!!!!

also, why did this book make me so emotional? I cried at least twice while reading, I felt so connected to these characters and their lives!!!💖

🐈‍⬛Small Town Romance
🐈‍⬛Ex-Rugby Player
🐈‍⬛Found Family
🐈‍⬛ADHD Rep
🐈‍⬛Swoony and Spicy 😉
🐈‍⬛Irish Countryside as a Character 🇮🇪

This was the easiest 5 stars I've given a book in a very long time, and it brought me out of a self-induced ARC burnout, so thank you Michelle for writing this story!

Taylor was beyond relatable. To read a story and feel so seen while not feeling like the story was focused on all of the things that made Taylor 'less than' others because of her ADHD was a gift I didn't know I needed. And I just knew from Chapter 1 that Taylor was my girl.

"Pack, shower, eat. You got this. It’s humiliating that I need to give myself a pep talk to get the simplest shit done, but starting a new task can just be so burdensome for me sometimes. I have a mental list of things I need to get done but rather than start chipping away at my to-do list, I let its weight knock me back into a stack of jeans and begin doom-scrolling.
F--k. I forgot to text Camila back."

💙

I really liked that we jumped right into Taylor's impulsive trip to Ireland (you're giving me ideas over here, girl...) and meeting the definition of 'holy hotness' that is Knox Browning that first night. Their meet-cute is fantastic, and again, beyond relatable.

"In the movies, the main character always just appears in a new country. Fresh face, shiny hair. Cue the montage of the beauty all around her. She’s smiling from ear to ear. She smells new foods for the first time. Someone rides past her on a bike or a moped. And when she least expects it, as she’s looking down at her map, the smoking-hot love interest appears to help her. And yet here I am, dragging one hundred pounds of baggage through s-it soup."

The way that would be me, though! 😂

And watching how down bad Knox was for Taylor immediately? So good. 😍
Taylor tries to deny it at first, but that chemistry was explosive and inevitable, and I was kicking my feet and giggling as I went on that ride with them. 🤗
They had great banter, and their teasing and moments where they almost gave in but got interrupted at the last second were so good at building up the tension, that by the time they got to the quintessential 'F--k it' moment, I felt like I was finally able to let out the breath I'd been holding for both of them!
The spice was quick when we got it, but very good, and Knox had just the right amount of dirty and filthy under his golden retriever exterior... 😏🥵

But my absolute favorite parts of this book were the quiet moments. The moments when Knox held space for Taylor's rambling thoughts, and recognized her questioning his perception of her, and reassured her that he loved every part of her. As someone who constantly wonders if my delivery or process is being perceived as annoying or confusing, I had no idea how much I needed to read about a MMC who didn't try to make the FMC feel anything other than seen and heard.
And I so enjoyed Taylor's relationship with Isla, Knox's mom. There were moments I couldn't help but tear up at the genuine connection they had built, especially knowing her past with her own parents. Honestly, all of the side characters in Taylor's and Knox's family and friends were so good, and that epilogue???? 😮
I love the found family trope, and this one was a top-tier example of it for me. 👩🏻‍🍳💋

I haven't read the first book in this series yet, but you better believe I will be going back and reading it now. Even if just for more of Camila and Taylor's friendship, because I absolutely adore those two together!
That being said, this can absolutely be read as a standalone if you haven't read the first book yet. And I highly recommend this book to anyone who's a fan of the above tropes, and is a mood reader like me who's looking for something to make them laugh & feel good & fall in love with a place and the people in it. 💙
I received an advanced copy of this book and am leaving an honest review.

Taste of commitment
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨️

If there's one thing I Love in a book, it's banter, tension, and moments that make you laugh out loud, those kick your feet giggling moments.

And taste of commitment delivered all of these and more.

The found family stole my ENTIRE heart. 💚
I fell in Love with the small town of Stoney meadow and Knox's family and friend circle. Every character brought so much to this charming setting.

This book had me looking forward to every free moment I had to squeeze in a page or chapter because I never wanted to put it down.

I absolutely Loved Taylor's character. She was just so raw, real, and relatably chaotic with a huge heart. I was rooting for her all throughout the book. Wanting her pure damaged heart to take a chance on happiness just this one last time and break down those walls, to let Knox in. Taylor is one of those characters that you fall in Love with more and more as you read.

Knox did not disappoint. I Loved his backstory and the struggles he faced, and the depth that, that brought to his character.
I also fell in Love with his coaching role and the way he was with the boys on the team.
I don't think there was a single second that I wasn't eating up his flirtatious approach to Taylor.
Knox is the perfect mix of masculine,  confident, but also the caring and sweet cinnamon roll that MMC dreams are made of. And he was THE perfect MMC for our girl Taylor.

I lost track of the sheer number of times this book had me laughing out loud, I don't remember the last time I genuinely laughed this much reading a book and I think that just goes to show how well done the writing style was in this small town romance.

From Art of convenience to Taste of commitment, this duology is a must-read. They both sit in my top reads for 2024, so if you haven't read them yet, you simply NEED to add them to your tbr.

The second book in the Whisky & Risky duet did not disappoint!! Michelle definitely had us thinking that Taylor and Jonas would be the next couple, but nope, jokes on us!! I honestly love that they had such a fun platonic and supportive friendship because i dont think we don't see that enough in novels.

Taylor makes a spontaneous decision to temporarily move to Ireland (my dream!!). There, she meets Knox, who is recently moved back home to his small town and helping run his parent's B&B after a career ending rugby injury. They have instant chemistry and feelings develop from there.

I adore Taylor. She's such a fun, fierce, and spontaneous individual. She has such a good heart. She has ADHD and i really appreciate how that's included in the book but doesn't bevone the main focus. She's able to live her life in a way that works for her with it, which to me shows how strong and resilient she is.

And Knox. Knox Browning, what a stand-up guy! Rugby was his entire life, and it was ripped away from him in an instant. So, seeing him trying to figure out who he is in life without the sport is quite the journey. I loved how he realized his passion working with the local team and building relationships with the players, and rebuilding relationships with his friends. And the way he is with Taylor? Absolutely swooning. He's sweet and also got that dirty talking side and it's just perfect.

Special shout out to Knox's mom, Isla. That woman is a gem, and I couldn't stop picturing her as Molly Weasley. She's the mom everyone deserves 🥰

I could continue to gush, but all you really need to know is that you need to read this book!!

I received an advance ebook but the review is my own.

wow, what an incredible way to close the whisky and risky duology. i fell in love with taylor in the first book, but she really showed out in this one and absolutely flourished along the way. her moments of vulnerability were major highlights for me. i loved watching her shed some layers and getting to understand why she held her heart so tightly. she deserved this adventure!

knox browning, a breath of fresh air!! he’s a sweetheart but also 𝘴𝘶𝘤𝘩 𝘢 𝘣𝘳𝘶𝘵𝘦. i loved the way his character developed throughout the story as he begins with having to navigate his way after a life-changing event. i swooned for the way he was very patient and understanding with taylor, and the way he allowed her to be her true self. he is wholeheartedly the one for her and i would not accept anyone else for our nova girl.

the banter between the two is top tier! i can’t tell you the amount of LOL’s i’ve written in the margins of my book. also, they’re both so hot and even hotter together.

stoney meadow!! the perfect small town, with a loving and accepting community. all the side characters were incredible and their relationships with one another brought so much comfort to my soul. i want to be adopted into the browning family. there were some moments taylor shared with the residents of stoney meadow that made me emotional. the entire atmosphere felt like a warm hug.

i LOVED seeing camila and jonas. their friendship will always be among my favorite. jo bro needs a book STAT

this cozy small-town romance has become a comfort read! this story couldn’t have been better and i’m so glad i got to read it! i love it with my whole heart.

thank you michelle, for blessing me with an arc!

This was a cozy, lighthearted, and at times hilarious read. I enjoyed experiencing the Irish countryside with Taylor. While overall I did enjoy the book, there was one minor, frustrating issue. Like a bad sitcom, every time the couple goes to kiss, something or someone interrupts the moment. It was funny the first time, the second time was a “ugh” moment, but the fifth time, I almost DNFd. I am glad I didn’t because I loved Knox and Taylor’s relationship growth. I’m happy that Taylor finally allowed herself to jump and knew Knox would be there to catch her. I cannot wait to check back into The Browning Family Inn!

----

I liked this one, it was super light to read and the story was beautiful.

Knox and Taylor have a very good chemistry, from the first moment they felt a small attraction that in small acts was growing, As characters I really liked their evolution, Knox coming to terms with what to do after his career ended I think was the best of the whole book, it gave a chance to all the good thoughts in his mind (and the town) regarding being or not being a coach; how Taylor got her place and home, how in spite of everything she got the peace she needed so much.

These two stole my heart, there was no drama between them, just two people getting to know each other and being themselves (even better) and that for me was a win; the story unfolds in a very enjoyable way and the secondary characters were a very very lovely town (each and every one of them).

📌 I received an e-arc, and this is my honest opinion/review of it.

I want to thank Michelle Carrero for providing me with the ARC of this book.
I loved this book! I loved the small-town setting and the main characters. I fell in love with Knox the minute we were properly introduced to him. Taylor was amazing. She was this free-spirited girl who loved adventures and wanted to have one of her own.
The tension between Knox and Taylor was so fun to read. The reason he called her Nova, I swooned there. Knox is the perfect book boyfriend and I cannot wait for everyone to love him like I already do. One of the things I loved was the ADHD rep in the book(we love mental health awareness)
I liked how the story was paced, it wasn't rushed or too slow it was just the right speed which allowed their story to develop naturally.
My favorite part about the book is the Stoney Meadow family, the small town vibe mixed with a bit of found family was the perfect thing for me. The friendships in this book were also to die for. Liam, Dex and Knox in particular were so adorable throughout the book.
Camila and Taylor's friendship was so precious. Again if you cannot tell I loved this book!

If you're looking for a small town romance with found family sprinkled in it and main characters who are lost in life but find their way together, then this is the book for you.

If I could give this 6 stars I 100% would! Like if there is one book I could ask everyone in the world to read at least once in their life it's this one...
I found myself wanting to really dive into this book and quickly ate it up because of how connected I felt the characters were with one another; and that made me feel more connected to them.
Taylor was just the perfect mid-twenties FMC who didn't really know what she wanted to do with her life and was kind of okay with it! I feel like we get a little of that in other FMC's but she was genuinely cool with going with the flow and actually enjoyed not being tied to one thing for too long (the reason why being excluded here).
And Knox?! Simply a league of his own in all ways, shapes, and forms. 12/10 man for a 12/10 woman.
I loved the instant connection between the two and how we got banter and flirting right off the bat without falling into that insta-love troping. They actually developed a friendship (per Taylor's strength because how she can do that I have no idea) and healed themselves a little bit.
This is the second book from Michelle I have received as an ARC for review, but there is a reason I will always come back to het books. And that's because her ability to write raw feeling into her characters is unmatched in my opinion. It is genuinely just that good and it makes the Whiskey and Risky duo actually the Whiskey, Risky, and me happily along for the ride trio because you feel like a part of the group when you read Michelle's work.

Michelle Carrero will forever be an auto-buy author for me.

This book is fantastic. Taylor Nova won my heart in Book 1, and my god, did I miss her! She is such a loveable character, through and through. She deserves the world and I'm so happy she got it in the end. Each scene with Taylor and Knox's mama melted my heart to a gooey puddle.

Knox. THE MAN THAT YOU ARE. In every scene I'm picturing thighs as big as a tree-trunk. He's hot. SO hot. Hot tub, anyone? I'M DIVING IN.

I'm so happy that Knox found his purpose beyond playing rugby in the end. I loved Michelle Carrero's ability to bring things full-circle, and having the jaded/grumpy teenaged boy be the first kid that Knox coaches was too perfect to ignore. The way those two interacted will be my roman empire forever. I swear, I cried. Like... real tears. At least twelve, but I wasn't counting.

This story is heartwarming and hopeful, and it is everything I love about romance books. There is heart and it beats SO loudly throughout these pages. I'm yearning for more from Knox's friends... and ahem, maybe his sister. Just more. ALWAYS MORE FROM MICHELLE.

I cannot wait to get a physical book for my shelf to go with AOC because, as per everything else she does... one thing Michelle Carrero WILL provide is a BANGING cover that will make your shelves look BEAUTIFUL.

Knox Browning the man that you are…. He is deffo now one of my fave book boyfriends & Taylor…. Well all Taylor’s are amazing if I do say so myself 🤣 and I just loved loved her character.

The tension in this book was unreal and I’m just so happy with how it ended and both characters were both able to overcome the hardships that came at them both. It was mentioned in this book that Taylor had ADHD and I just wish it would have been spoken about how she was dealing with this towards the end of the book to contribute to this HEA, however that may just be the way my brain works and a personal preference to really close the ending.

I love that this book took place in Ireland, so many books I read are just US based and this was such a breathe of fresh air!

We also got to see Camila and Miles in this book which was 🤌🏻 I love them so much

I neeeeeeeeddddd a Liam and Liv book! So so so much tension🫶🏻🫶🏻

Thank you for this ARC and congratulations on another amazing book release!

Read this if you love:

- Small Town
- He falls first
- Dual POV

Thank you to the author for the ARC!

I'm a girl who loves small town romances, but I'm definitely sucker when the small town is overseas. The setting in Ireland was absolutely perfect and I was 100% here for the cozy cottage vibes we got. I also loved all of the side characters. They all felt really fleshed out and added such a genuine feel to the found family trope in this book.

Taylor was incredibly relatable to me. The ADHD representation in this was so well done and it felt like I was looking directly into a mirror. I think it's definitely going to resonate with a lot of people and I love that we continue to see beautifully messy characters like Taylor.

I feel like I never got a good sense of who Knox was, but I still thought he was very sweet and loved how protective he was of Taylor. I do think there was something missing with their chemistry for me. I never felt fully invested and if I'm being honest, I was a bit bored with them halfway through. I'd still recommend checking this one out though cause I definitely think it was a me thing! There was plenty that I enjoyed from the story and I would read more by this author for sure.

This is the second book in the Whisky and Risky Duet, which follows Taylor and her journey to self-discovery. Taylor is a related FMC because most (including me) have dealt with finding a purpose in the world. She comes to Emerald Browning Cottage in Ireland with the hope of finding the answers she is looking for. On the other hand, Knox struggles with self-worth and accepting his current situation after a career-ending injury. He has difficulties adjusting to his life back home. They are immediately attracted to each other but Taylor, having commitment issues, is hesitant to cross that boundary due to her abandonment issue. Knox is very patient, understanding, and caring toward her at the same time, he comes to understand that there is more to life than his professional life.
It was a good read with banter between the two. It was a slow burn but the spicy did not disappoint. I enjoy everything about this book, including the side characters and the cat's name lol. Thank you to Michelle Carrero for the ARC.

READ IN A DAY!! Would definitely recommend. 5/5.

Absolutely loved this book, the characters, tropes, and writing were all phenomenal.

Knox is now one of my favourites, he’s just so attractive with his humour, kindness, alphaness and how he’s immediately drawn to Tay the moment they meet. I adored him. He calls her LOVE!!!

Taylor is also one of my favourite fmcs I’ve read about in a while, she’s strong, independent, caring and has a hidden vulnerability about her. She’s just overall endearing to read about. I also liked how her ADHD was written about and how it accurately showed how it affects people daily.

I loved her relationship with Isla, my heart is full.

“Her head drops back on a laugh, but all sounds escape me when I see her smile. Her smile rivals the sun.”

“I stared at my ceiling for hours, thinking about her smile, her raspy laugh and the way she makes the most mundane things feel exciting.”

“But I see you, Knox. I see all of you.” Her lips press to the corner of mine softly. “And I like everything I see.”

“A life without you isn’t a life I want to live.”

Feeling a little lost in life, Taylor Nova makes a huge jump and decides to live in a small Irish town for a month. She ends up at an inn run by the parents of a hot retired Irish rugby player who is (get this) also feeling a little lost in life. The two find themselves in each other and the meaning they build for themselves in small town life. Oh and also they hook up, and it’s REALLY good.

The vibes in this book were absolute perfection to me. I laughed, I cried, I read it again less than 24 hours later - there was just so much to love. The story was so fun and cute, the characters were hilarious and lovable (mains and sides), the tension was tense, the banter was top notch, the spice was good, and the writing made this SO enjoyable to read. Also the ADHD rep in this was so real, it felt like reading about my daily life - if I was a tall, hot blonde.

Recency bias aside, this MMC might be joining my top ten. He was FLAWLESS.

Edit to add: AND this might be one of my favorite found family tropes ever.
