Emotional Rollercoaster

No spoilers! Read the book.

The queen of dark Romance, did it again! This book takes you on an emotional journey that you are not prepared for. You don’t know whether to love or hate him. Hassan is that dude. You know you can’t stand him. You know he can’t stand you. But there’s just something about him that makes you go dík dumb.
And that’s what happened to my girl Lyric. Cuz otherwise Lyric is this strong, opinionated, beautiful, talented superstar of an Empress. Lord knows she doesn’t need this fool but throws caution to the wind.
And this is when the emotional rollercoaster begins. This books leaves you talking out loud to the characters like you are one of them.
Still don’t know how I feel about Hassan but he aight 😏😏 Lyric’s heart is too big and you good for him. And he knows it. I understand why she did what she did.

Sometimes a one and done is only the beginning.

Kenya did it again y’all!!! I devoured Good as hell book in less than 24 hours and let me tell you it was truly good as hell. If you loved easy like Sunday morning like I did, you’ll enjoy this one just as much. (4.75/5)

Lyric isn’t your run of the mill pop star… she’s the empress and the world bows at her feet. It’s not until she has a run in with a true prince that her crown is challenged. Prince Hassan is known to sow his royal oats but this time around his seed has taken root. Now his conquest must take her spot as his consort in this royal rumble of a romance.

This book is unique to a lot of the books I’ve read by the author. Our mmc is black (Moroccan) and there is a trans side character who is loved out loud.

While I rave about this book, I must ensure you check your triggers as this book contains a lot of triggers (abortion, pregnancy, miscarriage, rape, etc.) and is centering a religious background. I cannot speak to the authenticity of the Moroccan or Muslim portrayal. I can only hope the author requested sensitivity readers in support of this release. However I did appreciate the observation of praying shown.

Your not leaving Me

Hassan and his obsession for his wife. Lyric goes from a one night fling, to a wife without her consent. Hassan is the safety net she needs, but will fight to the end to protect her self until she knows he is all he says he is. This romance will be gripping at your heart strings. Hassan is so bad but so good all balled up in one , and lyric can’t resist him

I’m always so honored to be an ARC reader for Ms. Kenya. She never fails to write a book with real life characters with real problems. I loved Lyric and how even though others tried to make her someone she wasn’t, she stuck to her true self. Hassan is definitely a new book boyfriend to add to the list of boyfriends haha. Can’t wait for the next book.

I was honored to be selected to read this as part of an ARC. Good as Hell! Hell to the yeah! Kenya Goree-Bell really outdid herself with this one. Hassan with his ruthless BDE is definitely one of the best MMCs she has written. This man did not play about what’s his and he definitely is not one to be played with. Lyric is absolutely amazing and she is fierce and independent, but also knows that her man means exactly what he says. This book is sexy, spicy and dark and it is so good I could not put it down. It’s definitely a must read.

I’ve been putting off reading a few books from this series, however, I decided to read this book unbeknownst to me why. Safe to say I wish I didn’t read it because it simply annoyed me to the point of frustration.

The book initially started out good because you could see Lyric being an independent woman and doing her thing. Suddenly Hassan enters the picture and Ayaan is here (baring in mind he didn’t like her, borderline hate and she still willingly went and slept with him).

There was no flow or genuine connection even if it was a night, because during the whole book Hassan was a bully and constantly kept forcing himself on Lyric as a form of punishment. I’m sorry but I know a cultural aspect was meant to be portrayed however, the whole execution just portrayed a powerless black woman and a dominating tyrant of a prince with a million mood swings.

I gave the book the benefit of the doubt to get better, but sadly it only got worse. Hassan constantly CHOCKING Lyric boiled my blood because out of everything he could’ve done he chose the worst thing. Yes she was hitting you but he was being a d*ck. He publicly embarrassed her by giving her the title “consort”, instead of confronting her and asking a simple question. Then at the end you’ll see he knew she didn’t do half the things he was accusing her of but was testing her loyalty. Respectfully wtf!! After all this can you believe she still opened her legs for this man (smh…it’s like they never learn!)

The whole thing was weirdddd, so let me save you the trouble and kindly say skip this one. The only thing I liked were the images. Butt, if a forced, fake and dominant prince with a stay at home wife is your speed then feel free to read.

Ps. THE GRAMMAR AND TYPOS REALLY AFFECTED THE READING EXPERIENCE, it’s constant throughout the book!!!!

Good as Hell by Kenya Goree-Bell is a fast-paced, emotionally charged romance that grabs you from page one and doesn’t let go. Set in a world of fame, power, and revenge, the story follows Lyric—a global music icon with fire in her veins and scars on her soul. When she’s kidnapped by Hassan, a powerful mogul from her past, their shared history ignites into a dangerous, passionate collision of love, pain, and desire.

The story is incredibly visual—I could see the scenes unfold like a movie, rich in atmosphere and energy. The emotional turmoil Lyric and Hassan experience is palpable. Lyric’s strength and vulnerability make her a compelling heroine, while Hassan, in all his alphahole glory, struggles between his obsession and his pride. He loves with a vengeance, but learning what really matters doesn’t come easy.

This was such a fun, intense ride from beginning to end. I did still have a few lingering questions at the end—hopefully to be answered in future books—but they didn’t take away from the overall enjoyment. There were some minor editing issues throughout, but they weren’t distracting enough to pull me out of the story. The characters, drama, and chemistry more than carried it.

If you love character-driven dark romances with heat, emotional grit, and strong personalities, Good as Hell is absolutely worth picking up.

Received ARC copy
A Tale of Pride and Prejudice
I really liked this story Hassan and Lyric really worked well together as leads each holding strength that manifested in different ways. Lyric was prideful if her inner strength overcoming past traumas and Hassan was sometimes to both their detriment Prejudice. I really wish he had seen past hearsay about Lyric and why she clearly had her guard up. I also wanted them to actually get to know each other and not through other people's relationships with each person. I felt that Hassan (due to his upbringing didn't give Lyric any leeway to explain or for him to understand which led her to close off and protect herself. When they were together through their strengths equalled out. I wanted Lyrics past to come out but I figured it might be shown in future story lines. Overall a fun not too dark romance that had cute moments and action thrills.

I have mixed feelings about this book. I liked the idea of what the book could have been, it had potential from the start but then it took a downward dive. Lyric was portrayed as this powerful world renowned star.( supposedly a billionaire, but somehow she had money but not extensive connections to powerful people except Lovie-bell). It is like Beyonce being kidnapped by a prince in a foreign country and not having the resources to get herself out? but whatever, its fiction, I will go along with it.
Hassan was quite abusive. he choked Lyric, threatened her life, threatened to never let her see her son again if she left his country. took away her career. The book also had a lot of typos that made it confusing, some of the parts where they were talking weren't even in quotes. The steamy scenes were also a little cringe, the language Hassan used during the sex scenes were vulgar and off putting. it had potential but it was just off.

Definitely Reading this again

I loved it I stayed up all night to read this I didn’t want to miss anything. It Easter Sunday and I can sleep in, I’m not going anywhere. Lyric had me tearing up on several situations, I almost was mad at Hassan bossy attitude. But seeing there love and he really cared. What got me was when he realized someone had hurt Lyric and he threatened to end them I was sold.
This may be a story but 2 things in this story I lived, 1- I became pregnant had a IUD I had just got it in January 85, and I became pregnant in April 85, the doctor told me they need to get the IUD out but they couldn’t. It caused me to bleed every month until September my daughter was born December 22. God protected her, she had jaundice & she was 4 lbs. 2 - I am a survivor from SA as a child and as an Adult.

Love it!! I don't know whether I'm reading the early edition (arc) provided or the KU I purchased in support of one of the most amazing authors on these INDIE booky streets at this point. Hell, I've read it so much, I search through my library, find it, and IT'S on from there. ALL kenya Goree-Bell books have me and others, I'm sure, taken an impromptu pamper day, lol. This book holds you from beginning to end. Omg it was good to see Oz!Well, the entire Mogul series has that effect. Don't want to repeat what's already been eloquently spoken, so I'll say I continue to enjoy Good as Hell with each read. My favorite scene is Prince trying to snub lyric after she slightly grazing him. Boy Bye, you know you felt that. He should've said kismet and stop playing with grown folks lol. Wow, Good as Hell is a powerful title that implies a must-read.

kept me engaged

This book felt like a rollercoaster ride. I truly enjoyed the plot and it kept me engaged though at times I was a bit peeved.

I’m usually a fan of dark romances but Hassan was a little too dark for me. There were certain moments where he was just cruel and that’s not love to me. Also, it’s really hard for me to believe that a man who has never been faithful before is all of sudden faithful. Character doesn’t change overnight.

I also don’t like when authors bring up something in the plot and never address it. Why does Amani have such disdain for Lyric? How does Hassan’s ex have such a close relationship to Ayaan?? I would have thought that Lyric would make it her mission to get to bottom of things that concerned her son.

I plan on reading the next book by this author.

As much as I tried, I just couldn't finish this story. I know it is classified as a dark romance, but nothing about Hassan was romantic to me and I had to force myself to get to 87%.

Lyric falling in love with him, was not justified in anything that was written IMO unless you classify sex as a form of love, then okay. Lyric was too weak for me to really sympathize/connect with her. Because I did not finish, I don't know if either of them redeemed themselves.

Let's not get me started on how Hassan seemed to code switch between a prince and homeboy, it was not attractive. In addition, the editing of the story could have been better. Usually I could over look the errors but with my not connecting with the leads, the editing issues were glorified.

I always applaud an author for putting out their work, unfortunately this was not an enjoyable read for me.

I was given the privilege to Arc read this book.

This book was wild. Hassan was def hella high handed. I def understand how lyric felt, especially how they started... I wasn't mad at her. Hassan idk how I felt about him, did I like him, did I hate him, damn I'm not even sure, cause i def think I would have caved if he looked at me like that. But that moment when she withdraws due to her trauma def boke me...I cried like damn, even without it being stated you get what happened. the spice...was. Lyric stepfather is a bitch ninja...like ugh I can't stand him!!! Hassan might have felt some type of way, but he really cared for her in his own way. I love that she wanted to keep her peace and didn't let her family ruin that.

Yall the wedding night scene...Damn!!! that's all I got to say.

I have the honor of being an ARC reader for *Good as Hell* by Kenya Goree-Belle. This author never ceases to amaze me! Every time I read one of her books, I find myself upgrading my favorite couple to the current story.

In this installment, Hassan is focused on his ambitions and has little time for distractions. He is sexy and mysterious, quickly hiding his intrigue for Lyric. Speaking of Lyric, she should have been named Mystery because her story is filled with so many layers and puzzle pieces that it keeps readers guessing. I appreciate that Lyric is not a pushover, despite her past.

I enjoyed that this couple takes the time to genuinely fall in love, and this portion of the story is not rushed. It was great to read the cameos of previous couples written by this author.

Kenya you done it again !! I love Lyric , her story was written with so much care .. lyric was able to take her misfortunes and turn it into her strength. She took her power back and I love the way this was written .

Hassan would burn the world down for this woman ! His methods though questionable his love ran deep for lyric . He will have you wanting to knock sense into him throughout this book though.

I have always loved Kenya’s books and writing style another win !!

I would recommend this book , please check out trigger warnings before reading this book due to sensitive topics being discussed .

If Miss Kenya Goree-Bell don’t do nothing else she’s gonna give us a mean alpha male that we’ll fall in love with from start to finish and unapologetically so. The way Hassan had me rooting for him and his out of pocket self!!!! How Miss KGB continues to outdo her last piece of work amazes me every single time. This book was Good As Hell…pun definitely intended. I love how she always includes past characters and future characters in her stories. The continuity in these books is consistent and I can’t wait for more. Lyric and Hassan went through it but as always those babies make it to the other side with their HEA. Loved it per usual!!!!

Potential unrealized

This Hassan Al Rasheed, the younger twin’s love story. Resigned to carry the family legacy after his brother’s abdication, Hassan has his hands in some dark dealings and also finds himself irrefutably attracted to Lyric. Lyric, R&B superstar The Empress, allows her public persona to hide her true nature.

Unfortunately Kenya Goree-Bell doesn’t execute this story well. There are too many grammatical errors, typos, and unexplained plot points. The pacing is unbalanced, minor characters are thrown in as if the reader should know them, and situations are mentioned without clear explanation.

This book had me in my feeeeeelings!
I was stressed out pacing the floor, kicking my feet giggling, tearing up in awe (more than once) just over all an INCREDIBLE experience.

Hassan and Lyric had a night to remember… just one.

Fast forward and now Lyric finds herself kidnapped by Hassan!

Lyric kept a lot from that night…and the Prince wanted his heir.

He quickly realized he would go to great lengths to protect his new wife and son!

I love how deep they both fell for eachother and how witty their banter was. They both were very spicy verbally and in the bedroom!

Superstar and her Prince

Another 5 star read. I could not get enough of Lyric. I loved that’s she was a strong FMC and knew when to stand her ground and when to compromise. If you love a possible dominant MMC Hassan is the guy for you. This was perfect addition to the series I love the interconnected plot and the glimpse of other characters from other books. A story of famous singer and a prince perfect combination of dominance. Love a one night stand turns surprise hidden baby tropes.

Just what the title says!

This was a excellent read. I’m never surprised by what Ms. Goree-Bell produces. She’s incredible writer. I felt like Lyric was too sweet. She just allowed Hasan to continue to see her in such a negative light without really correcting him. KGB writes these characters that make you want to dive in and have you talking out loud admonishing certain characters cheering for others. She’s a fantastic writer and I am sold out for the worlds that she creates inside these pages!

Phenomenal

I loved the entire heck out of this book! It was a highly anticipated release for me, so when it dropped, I couldn’t help but devour it. Lyric and Hassan’s story was so fiery! The chemistry and tension between them was so intense it felt tangible. The heat between them was all the chili peppers in a 1,200 mile radius hot. 🥵 I love the way Kenya’s able to take well-known tropes and make them seem refreshing and give the reader compelling narratives that hit straight in the feels. It’s a 10/10 for me. Highly recommend. 😌

So Good

I don’t know how I came across this book, but I’m so glad I did. The storyline starts off as vanilla but then morphs into something that could easily be a movie. Hassan is not one for the faint of heart. He’s heavy handed, ruthless and extremely possessive. Lyric is a fighter but she’s also extremely caring. The ride that this book takes you on so worth it. I literally stayed up all night to finish. This is easily something I would read again. I hope that the other books in the series are just as good. Loved it!

One thing Kenya gone do is write a villain that you gone stand by. Hassan acted accordingly when he found out about his son through the tabloids. He was deliciously mean in all the best ways. He put in that work when he want to show Lyric just who was in charge. Lyric biggest and most dangerous problems came from outside sources. At every turn people were gunning for her. It was a long hard road for Hassan and Lyric to finally reach their hea.

Wow, just wow. The tittle of the book says it all. This book was " good as hell". I was able to read this book early in exchange for an honest review. Although this is a dark romance, it still had all the feels. I love Hasan and the Lyric so much. I truly love that Lyric found her safe person who also would be a mean MF to her but most of all for her. I highly recommend this book. 10/10 I do recommend.

Lyric is the better counterpart in this couple

This book pissed me off well actually hassan pissed me off. I dont think his actions were justified at all. ANY actions‼️ well no killing her step father definitely agree with. But hassan was a piece of shit didnt like him even in the end cuz im not over him choking her up literally theee different times and tossing her. He was just beyond OTT bordering on abusive dare i say? I loved Lyric tho so much absolutely‼️i see her reasoning for hiding the child and although i dont agree she didnt hide the father from the child like ayaan knew him immediately. Lyric and Fi were my favorite and i hope theres a story for her and Fariq‼️

Empress of His Heart

Lyric was definitely too good for Hassan, but luckily enough, he finally got over himself and his misconceptions of her and allowed her into his heart. Their story was not a smooth ride but an enjoyable and heart felt story where the heroine thawed the Ice King's heart.
