At the same time, however, this relationship pulls Sonny into the crosshairs of Jasper Damon, a violent, vile man who seems untouchable due to his association with an organized crime family. Sonny tries desperately to escape Jasper's wrath, but to do so, he must risk his life and possibly the lives of others.

This was a story of boys in a small town, and a summer nobody there will ever forget. It's one of the best stories I've read, and hard for me to put down. The story involved young love, gangsters, happiness and sadness. Even the ending was very well done. I rarely give highest rating but I do for this one.
