Anya, anya, anya: Kis könyv anyukáknak

Rate this book
Szívhez szóló köszönet azoknak, akik szembenéznek a gyereknevelés mindennapos kihívásaival.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

remember at the start of this pandemic when liz climo so generously created a free coloring book to keep us all outta trouble during lockdown and it was freaking adorable? in my dinky little review of it i vowed to give back by buying her new mother’s day book and here we are—this arrived yesterday and today is mother’s day and i am still in lockdown and that’s okay.

i’ve read all of liz climo’s cartoon collections, and a couple of her picture books. i thought this one was going to be a collection of her cartoons—single page ha has around the theme of motherhood. however, this is more like one of her picture books—illustrations accompanying a single narrative thread celebrating mothers and motherhood. since i am a motherless, childless person, at first i was disappointed

however, even though it is absolutely one of those bookstore gift table books, it’s not full of poetry and cheesy pastel sentiments, but it IS full of adorable animals!

and also animals with those faces only a mother could love

she's perfect

perfect

baby panda- nailed it!

there are also creatures whose behavior only a mother could love

RUDE!

but moms struggle through it all, yeah?

but then this!!??

why you gotta do me dirty like that, climo? I’M NOT CRYING, I’VE JUST BEEN IN LOCKDOWN SINCE MARCH! I AM FRAGILE!

fortunately, she made it up to me with 8 pages of red pandas, which was unexpected and greatly appreciated.

anyway, this book is great, even if it doesn’t apply to your particular life-situation. and it would be A VERY THOUGHTFUL GIFT so go on and shore up our economy!

come to my blog!

All moms struggle against so many odds. All moms strive to be perfect but fail in their own expectations. All moms want the world for their children and yet long for a day away from the kids when they can just read or sleep peacefully.
If you are a mom, you need to know you aren't alone fighting the uphill battle of being a mommy to your little one. So if you need some positivity about motherhood, if you need a smile about life with your children, if you just want someone to tell you they empathize with you, read this book! You will still be a tired mom, but you will feel much happier about it. ❤️

"Some of us have children, and some of us don't. Some of us have wonderful relationships with our parents; some of us don't. I don't want this book to be some secret handbook that only mums are allowed to have". ⁣

I'm not a mum, but still, I bought this book because I love my mum 🥰 Buku yang menarik perhatianku sejurus selepas masuk MPH pada satu ketika dulu 🥰 ⁣

It was perfect and kind of funny 😁⁣

Haha. Bila baby buatkan mak tak cukup tidur, bila dah jadi kanak-kanak, banyak bertanya, bila dah jadi remaja, bermulalah perbalahan dan lagilah macam-macam hal termasuk terlebih emosi. Pasti teringat akan diri sendiri lah ceritanya, tambah lagi bab emosi 😂⁣

And after all, all these phases happened with lots and lots of love 😍 ⁣

I highly recommend this book to all whether or not you’re a mum. For those who’re not a mum, this book will make us appreciate and feel more attached to our mum. My eyes were full of tears when I came to the end of this book. I miss my mum, who died when I was seventeen. I miss her especially on my birthday. For those who’re a mum, this book will remind you of all the phases to raise your child. You'll hug and kiss your child after you finish reading this book. Trust me as I'll do the same if I have a chance. ⁣

Lastly, I want to say thanks to all the mums out there! You're doing the best you can!

"Who, me? Yes, you. I still think you're great, by the way, whether or not you're mum." - Thank you for this kind words ❤️⁣ - @lizclimo

I'm dumbstruck and cried at 1 at the morning reading this. I cannot imagine how much joy there is for every mothers in the world if they receive this as a gift from their kids.

One of the most beautiful things in this book is how everyone can be a mother eventhough they are not the biological mother. Even grandparents can be mothers. Some of the pages are humorous too, especially the part when their kids became teenagers and started to rebel 🤣 The whole book is just adorable and totally relatable to me. I love the fact that the author/illustrator is using many kinds of animals and insects as moms, instead of human illustrations.

Man patīk Liz Klimo komiksiņi Instagramā, bet šī grāmataiņa bija vairāk sentimentāla, trūka autores foršā humoriņa.

Sebaj, addig is lekötöm magam.

One of those gift book sort of things that starts out cute enough but feels like the world's longest Hallmark card by the end.

Beautiful, hilarious, and heartfelt: Liz Climo is an absolute artist and genius. I'm not a mom (yet), but I ordered this book for my sister who is about to have her second baby and after reading it, I'm ordering a second copy for my mom, who is almost 60. I laughed and cried the whole way through. "You're Mom" is beautifully illustrated with all of Liz Climo's wonderful characters and is incredibly touching. She does an amazing job of leaving no kind of mom out. A wonderful gem for current moms, "empty-nester" moms, older moms, younger moms, step-moms, foster moms, moms-to-be, moms who have lost, and everything in between. Get it for yourself or as a gift... Trust me, you won't regret it.

Bought this as I was marking another Mother's Day since the passing of my Mom in 2015. The author was inspired to write it in honor of her own Mother who passed when she was in her twenties too. It's a lovely homage to motherhood and addresses the loss of a mother too in lovely illustrations. A sweet book that I intend to revisit on the days when I am really missing my Mom extra. Also makes for a great gift for a new mother in your life.

I love this book. Got it as a mother's day/baby shower gift, and it is so cute and so desperately warm hearted without being sickly sweet.

Delightful and encouraging book for moms. Climo captures the gamut of emotions moms of all ages feel as they handle birth through teen years. Told with humor and love and joy.
Great gift for moms.

I’m not crying, you’re crying!

In all seriousness though, this was absolutely lovely. A very quick read- I finished it in about 3 minutes, but you certainly want to stay a little while longer amongst the pages and Liz Climo’s wonderful drawings. I loved it!
